How to endure in your walk with God - Daily Grain

🌾 We know those who do wrong suffer.  But is there suffering for those who are doing what is right?  First Peter 3:17 says, "It is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong."  Yes, God allows us to go through suffering for a very distinct purpose.

God has opened our eyes to repentance by good works.  He has shown us how to live each day, letting our lights shine for Him.  We're going through the growth process.  We are learning every day how to be more like our Father who created us to do good works.  As we learn, we go through tests and trials.  Through these tests and trials, we learn all of God's Ways.

The nature that we were all born with needs to die.  Our hearts are desperately sick, beyond all understanding.  We see that clearly as we go through tests, just as the Apostle Paul did. This is why true disciples of Jesus Christ persevered in doing good works for God.   They were seeking for glory and honor and immortality.  How many who profess Jesus as their Savior are doing that today?

Suffering wrong as the wages of doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are stains and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, as they carouse with you.

2 Peter 2:13

For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.

1 Peter 3:17

First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds.

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 5:16

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10

The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?

Jeremiah 17:9

For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.

Romans 7:18

To those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life.
