Leaning on God's wisdom not mans - Daily Grain

🌾 "This is pure and undefiled religion, to visit the widows and the orphans in their distress, and to keep oneself unspotted by the world."

The people of this world are concerned about the things of this world.  They are concerned about food, clothing and shelter.  They are concerned about bigger homes, stock markets and the price of gold.  They are concerned about what they read in the newspaper and what the weather is going to be from day to day.

Most people worry about this and that, while the person who loves God has no such concerns.  He knows that the Father will take care of all his needs because he has sought the kingdom first by subjecting himself to the righteousness of God, as Jesus Christ did.  He knows the world is going the wrong way, but feels wonderful because he knows he is going the right way – God’s Way.   He has been saved from this perverse generation.  He is in God’s care now.  He knows that if he lives to serve only God, as Jesus did, he will end up where Jesus is - with a new body that cannot die.  He does not live for self any longer, but he lives totally for God by serving others.

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

James 1:27

For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Matthew 6:25

And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

Matthew 13:22

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance.

1 Peter 1:14

Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. 2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge. 3 For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

Romans 10:1-3

And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!”

Acts 2:40

Then Jesus said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’"

Matthew 4:10

Let no one seek his own good, but that of his neighbor.

1 Corinthians 10:24
