How to Love Yourself

God wants us to straighten out our lives because He wants the best for us. He loves us more than we could ever love ourselves. He wants us to love ourselves as much as He loves us. This is done by serving others.

God created us to walk in His Ways. He said that if we would, He would teach us, bless us, answer all our prayers and fulfill all our needs and desires. He promises us protection, long life, health, joy, peace, happiness and the greatest gift of all, eternal life. We will also rule with Him when He returns and live in His kingdom with Him forever.

When we just practice living by His Ways each and every day, learning to live the right way, God says He will live in us, perfect Christ’s nature in us and cause our spiritual growth.

Galatians 4:19 — My children, with whom I am again in labor until Christ is formed in you.

1 Corinthians 3:7 — So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth.

Colossians 2:19 — Not holding fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from God.

God’s Ways are God’s thoughts, deeds and actions. All God’s Ways are good; He is righteous in all His Ways and kind in all His deeds. When we practice kindness and charity to all, we are imitating God daily and allowing Him to form Christ’s nature in us.

Psalm 145:17 — The Lord is righteous in all His Ways, and kind in all His deeds.

Galatians 4:19 — My children, with whom I am again in labor until Christ is formed in you.

When practicing righteousness and kindness truly comes from our heart, we have entered God’s rest and fulfilled the royal law: you shall love your fellow humans as you love yourselves. Love is, therefore, the fulfillment of the law.

Hebrews 4:10 — For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works [of the flesh], as God did from His [works of creation].

Romans 13:10-14 — Love does no wrong to a neighbor; love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.  Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we first believed. The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let’s rid ourselves of the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let’s behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and debauchery, not in strife and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.

This is the answer to all of our problems. Simply serve others for God’s glory, thereby, showing God how much you love yourself and how much you love Him!
