  • Who Do You Really Worship? | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Who Do You Really Worship? Many people don’t realize the fact that ignoring God daily is worshipping Satan. Living for self is worshipping Satan. The love of money and selfish ambition is the source of every evil thing and is worshipping Satan (1 Tim. 6:10-11). Being religiously deceived is worshipping Satan. Being deceived by anything or anyone of the world is falling prey to Satan’s schemes, and therefore worshipping Him. If anything of this world takes precedence in your life, over what you know to be true according to God, it has become an idol in your life and you are worshipping the world, who’s ruler is Satan (2 Cor. 4:4). If one’s emotions are too strongly set on something, that is wrong and it has become an idol. Idolatry is defined as excessive love, adoration or devotion to anything such as food, drink, clothing, cars, boats, homes or pleasure. These things are idolatry (Col. 3:5; Ezek. 14:7). Love for money makes money one’s idol. It is wrong to idolize anyone whether it be fame, politics or otherwise. When we do this, we put what we idolize before God (Matt. 4:10; Isa. 2:22). We are to seek the truth and the truth will set us free (John 8:32). The Bible says God’s word is truth, and we are expected to study it, obey it and practice the truth to come to the knowledge of the light—real truth (John 3:21; Deut 28:15; John 3:36, Ps. 106:3; Ezra 7:10; 2 Tim 2:15 KJV). The true worship of God involves walking in the Law by keeping it in the Spirit (Rom. 12:21; 8:13; John 4:24). The true worshipers of God live as God lives by keeping His Ways. They imitate God and His Son daily—living holy, righteous, blameless, perfect lives as Jesus Christ, King David, Job and Noah did (Eph. 5:1; Matt. 5:48). True worship of God is not hard (1 John 5:3). In fact, it’s very easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30). But it does require obedience to a loving Creator. True worship of God through a holy Way of life is all but nonexistent today. Only the empty form of pagan rituals remains. Very few people live the “God life.” Very few experience the good life which is filled with peace, prosperity and every good thing. People have substituted a form of religion for holiness (Rom 10:2-3; Mark 7:6-9). And therefore, they practice idolatry instead of God’s pure and undefiled religion, which is simply serving those in need and staying unstained by the world (James 1:27). Who proclaims and substitutes this form of religion that is not of God today? False ministers. They appear as nice guys on the outside, but inside they are ravenous wolves in sheep’s clothing (Matt. 7:15). Many wear different clothing or a robe to make people think they are very religious or holy. Many thrive on notoriety and love to sit in places of honor at banquet tables (Matt. 23:1-7; Luke 20:46; Mark 12:39) How can you distinguish false ministers from God’s true servants? God’s ministers can be recognized by their fruits, and those fruits are good works (Col. 1:10). Their message should be to repent and overcome evil by engaging in good works daily for the glory of God (Rom. 12:21; Matt. 5:16). These good works are to be done in the name of Jesus (Col. 3:17). If Jesus is purifying for Himself a peculiar people who are zealous for good works, then His true ministers would themselves be examples of good works (Titus 2:7-8, 14). Halley’s Bible Handbook says on page 643; “One of the indictments of false teachers was that they were “unto every good work reprobates” which means they express their disapproval of good works and are not of God’s elect, when looking up the word reprobate. It then references Titus 1:16; “They profess to know God but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.” False ministers then, would be enemies of good works for God, preaching over and over that works are not necessary for salvation (Acts 13:10). Then the people, not knowing their Bibles and not caring to know their Bibles, blindly go along to the slaughter, following their blind leaders (Matt. 15:12-14). They both fall into a ditch or rut, and nobody puts on the new nature and gets rid of the old (Eph. 4:22-24). No one becomes a new creature with Christ formed in him (Gal. 4:19). No one becomes complete (2 Cor. 13:9). Jesus says the greatest in the kingdom will be the servant of the most (Matt. 23:11). People are not told to be servants of others for the glory of God; they are told, instead, to let the church do the good works. They are told, “If someone is in need, call your pastor.” He is a righteous man, so they believe. But if so, he should be duplicating himself by the hundreds. People should not be looking up to him, but to Christ, their true example of daily righteousness. How many do you know who walk like Christ, talk like Christ, do Christ’s works daily, and are overcoming their evil natures (1 John 2:6)? How many slaves of righteousness do you know (Rom. 6:19)? Do you know any slaves of Jesus Christ who are doing the Will of God—the Will being righteousness—daily on this earth, just as it is being done in heaven (Rom 12:2; Eph. 6:6)? How many put God first in their life above all else? Jesus gave us examples, but many people give Him excuses. What’s yours? • Practice Makes Perfect | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Practice Makes Perfect Psalm 4:4 says, “Tremble and do not sin.” Generally, religious people today do not fear God to such an extent that they tremble when they sin. People claim they cannot help but sin, because we are all sinners and people who say they have no sins are liars. They use 1 John 1:8, as an excuse to continue sinning. Yet, at the same time, Jesus says we are to be perfect as the heavenly Father is perfect (Matt. 5:48). Jesus also commanded one person to go and sin no more lest something worse would come upon him. Was Jesus’ command unreasonable, or can we be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect? Did Jesus teach this seemingly unreasonable doctrine about not sinning and being perfect to His disciples? One thing for sure is, not many people know the answer to this Bible mystery. The apostle Paul had the attitude that he had not obtained the state of perfection yet and therefore, he felt he wasn’t worthy to come up in a resurrection to eternal life (Phil. 3:11, 14). What a far cry his gospel is from those today who preach, “Give your heart to the Lord and just believe; you’ll be saved.” Some even go so far as to say you cannot lose your salvation once you have it. They use only certain Scriptures and avoid others that will not back up their false doctrines of half truths. Jesus Himself, who cannot lie, said you have to be considered worthy to attain to the age of the resurrection (Luke 20:35). Doesn’t He know what He’s talking about? Jesus told those who follow Him to beware of the teachings of the Pharisees (Matt. 16:6-12). Those Pharisees, or hypocrites, exist today much more than they did in Jesus’ day. Remember, there is only one true teaching and that comes from Jesus Christ alone (John 14:6). Let’s see what God’s word, the Bible, has to say about being perfect and not sinning. There is a word that is not used much or understood in God’s word. It is a word that few people realize is a key that unlocks the true gospel. That word is practice. We’ve all heard the expression, “Practice makes perfect,” but not many people take that phrase seriously. Yes, practice, when it is connected to righteousness, does make one perfect, as Jesus said in Matthew 5:48. Ironically, the key word “practicing” is used for the first time, in the New Testament, in the very next verse. In Matthew 6:1, Jesus Christ Himself says to His true disciples; “Beware of practicing your righteousness to be noticed by men.” These words show that true disciples of Jesus Christ practice righteousness, and it isn’t just a few hours a week. It’s all the time. Why are true followers of Jesus Christ continually practicing righteousness—continually doing good? The first reason is, they are imitating their Savior, Jesus Christ, who continually went about doing good (Acts 10:38). Were Jesus Christ’s true disciples abounding with deeds of kindness and charity which they continually did? The answer is, yes (Acts 9:36)! This is how the Father in heaven is glorified and it is the Way a true disciple, or overcomer, let’s his light shine before others (Matt. 5:16). The second reason disciples of Jesus Christ are practicing righteousness is, for overcoming. You see, they are disciplining themselves daily for the purpose of godliness (1 Tim. 4:7). Jesus gave His true followers instructions on righteousness and warned them that the righteousness they were practicing had to exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees, or they would not be converted. In other words, they would not enter the kingdom of God within until their righteousness came from their hearts. They would not receive the new nature, Jesus Christ’s nature formed in them, until their righteousness was no longer done hypocritically (Matt. 5:20; Gal. 4:19; Luke 17:21). All God’s Ways are righteous (Psalm 145:17). All Jesus’ Ways were righteous. All our ways must be made righteous before God. How can this be? God’s Ways are God’s Will, so then, God’s Will is righteousness. God says we are to do His Will from the heart, and then we will have His nature formed in us (Eph. 6:6; 1 Peter 5:10). There will be a certain amount of testing or suffering, but you can be sure it is nothing compared to the new nature and the revelation of His glory (1 Peter 4:12-13). In effect, when you practice righteousness each day for God, you are overcoming the evil one, overcoming your evil side, your evil nature, your satanic nature. Every time you resist the evil impulses of your snake-like nature, the snake and the evil impulses grow weaker. The food that keeps the snake strong and healthy in your body is sin (Gen. 4:7). Satan is put to death in your body by practicing righteousness for God and His glory (Rom. 12:21). This allows God to crush Satan and put him under your heel or authority (Rom. 16:20). Psalm 37:27 puts it all together when it says, “Overcome evil by doing good, so you will abide forever [live forever].” Many do not know that being born again is the overcoming process. The one Scripture that is never mentioned by those who falsely say they are born again is 1 John 2:29. It is saying if you know that Jesus Christ is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is truly born of Him. True disciples practice righteousness daily for God’s glory, for God’s blessings and rewards, and for overcoming their evil natures. They practice righteousness so they can have Christ’s nature formed in them, and enter God’s rest as mentioned in Hebrews 4:10 and Galatians 4:19. Now, here is a point on righteousness about which many remain deceived. First John 3:7 says, “The one who practices righteousness [for God] is [considered] righteous just as God is righteous.” God’s word said it, we believe it, and that settles it. You are righteous in God’s eyes when you practice righteousness to please Him each day. What about those who will not overcome by practicing righteousness daily for God? They remain of the devil, according to God’s word, which cannot lie (1 John 3:10; Heb. 6:18). Jesus overcame the world. He was tested in all things and Satan could not find any fault in Him (John 14:30; 16:33). We, too, are to overcome the evil pulls of the flesh and put them to death with the help of God’s Spirit (Rom. 8:13; Gal. 5:16). If we don’t or won’t obey Jesus Christ, we won’t be covered by the blood of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:2). God gives His Spirit only to those who will obey Him (Acts 5:32). We must live as Jesus Christ gave us example to live, and overcome our evil natures by keeping His works. We must endure to the end keeping them, if we are to be covered by His blood (John 14:12; Rev. 2:26; 3:21; 21:7). The only exception for anyone is a situation similar to that of the thief who was dying on a cross. Otherwise, there is no excuse for refusing to overcome. The word perfect, in the Bible, means spiritually mature. See the margin note in Philippians 3:15. Mature followers of Jesus Christ no longer practice sin in their lives, but only practice righteousness toward God for His glory. They do all the good that they do in the name of Jesus Christ as they have been commanded in Colossians 3:17. They do not hold out on God in certain areas of their lives, but are wholeheartedly devoted to pleasing God. They are perfect in attitude, perfect in gratitude. They have developed honest and good hearts, if they didn’t have them to begin with (Luke 8:15). They have been made complete (2 Cor. 13:9, 11). They have rested from all their works of the flesh and have entered the kingdom of God within, which is God’s rest (Heb. 4:10; Luke 17:21). Yes, practice does make perfect and idleness is the devil’s hand tool. That fact has been explained, and proven in great detail, in this study. If you want to be perfect, then you had better start to practice the faith of Jesus Christ, because there is only one faith (Eph. 4:5). God bless you in your walk with God. • Ready Set Go! | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Ready Set Go! If you are doing God's Will on this earth, as it is being done in heaven, then the Lord has something special to say to you: Remember what you have received and heard. Keep it, obey it and repent, by putting My words into practice. If you will not wake up and repent, I will come like a thief and you will not know at what hour I will come to you (Rev. 3:3 NASB & AMP). Yes, God is talking to all of us who are overcoming our evil natures by keeping Jesus Christ’s deeds. He is reminding His followers to practice the deeds He did as an example, and to endure until He returns (Rev. 2:26). If we who are His true servants zealously continue to practice being servants of others until God’s Will begins to come from our hearts, we will all be ready (Matt. 5:20; Eph. 6:6). True followers of Jesus Christ are continually admonished not to become weary in a life of doing good (2 Thess. 3:13). We are to pray always that we will be found worthy to escape all those things which are shortly coming upon this world. We are to pray that we will be counted worthy to survive and stand before Jesus Christ physically when He returns (Luke 21:36). These are solemn warnings to believers which should be heeded. Many people will wait until what they feel is the last minute. Then they plan to live for God by being a servant to others. They feel they’re too busy to take Jesus Christ’s words seriously and take action in their lives now. As a result, that day will come upon them as a trap and it will be too late (Luke 21:34). I feel those who perished in the time of Noah had this very same attitude, don’t you? We know that Jesus will return to take His people to a place of safety. He will come suddenly, like a thief, so we need to prepare to be ready—all set to go. How can we be ready? 1. We should continually live the repentant life by being servants of others (Matt. 23:11). 2. We must study God’s word daily, looking for Scriptures that pertain to the righteous, and then fulfill those Scriptures within our lives. Some examples are Luke 14:13; 6:35; James 2:14-16 and Luke 3:10-14. 3. We are to pray for others always and for our own needs also (1 Thess. 5:17). 4. We should commit everything to God, from brushing our teeth for God first thing in the morning to our prayers just before we retire (Col. 3:17). 5. We should keep the Lord always on our minds, and keep our thoughts and deeds pleasing to Him in all respects (Phil. 4:8; Isa. 26:3). Zealous, wholehearted, steadfast, persevering—these words describe a true disciple who is totally committed to God. They describe one who has an honest and good heart. This type of person is bearing godly fruit. He is building godly righteous character that not only has promise for this life, but also the life to come (Luke 8:15; Rev. 3:10; Col. 1:10; 1 Cor. 9:24-27; 1 Tim. 4:8; 2 Tim. 2:5-6). Remember always, winners never quit and quitters never win. Let’s be all ready and set to go, so that when the Lord comes as a thief, we will be ready—set to go with Him.` PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

  • How Father's Can Do God's Will | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How Father's Can Do God's Will God wants to bless families, but He cannot unless the family members allow Him to bless them by being obedient to His Ways. In God’s plan for marriage, husbands are the leaders, providers and disciplinarians; while wives are the helpers, encouragers and homemakers (Eph. 5:22-23; Prov. 22:6; 31:10-31; Heb. 12:9; Gen. 2:18). God chose Abraham because He knew he would bring up his children and the rest of the household in the Ways of the Lord. He would encourage them to practice righteousness and honesty in all their dealings with their fellow man, and he would be a godly example himself (Gen. 18:19). Abraham brought up his children with discipline and instructed them in the Ways of the Lord. He was careful not to over-discipline his children so as to discourage them from living God’s Way (Eph. 6:4; Col. 3:21). Children learn respect for their parents through balanced discipline and love. "For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?" God’s word says (Heb. 12:7). "Our fathers disciplined us and we respected them" (Heb. 12:9). Yes, the father who neglects discipline despises himself (Prov. 15:32). God knows that foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but loving, godly discipline will remove it far from him (1 Cor. 16:14; Prov. 22:15; 29:15, 17, 19; 19:18). Fathers, there is no substitute for discipline (Prov. 13:24). God believes in discipline done in wisdom and in love, never in anger (Jer. 10:24). There are also other forms of discipline you can use, such as depriving disobedient children of some of their freedom. Be sure to continually seek the Lord for wisdom. Wives who are living to please the Lord are commanded to be subject to their husbands. Help and encourage your husband to obey the Lord and do not discourage him when he disciplines the children. Do not hinder him, as Eve hindered her husband (Col. 3:18; 1 Cor. 11:8-9; 1 Tim. 2:14). Husbands, your wives cannot be in subjection to you until you are in subjection to God and have fulfilled your rightful duties to the Lord by being the loving master of your own household. Let us be prepared to meet the Lord should He return shortly (Luke 1:17). Let us stop depriving ourselves of happiness because we rebel against God’s Ways. After all, God’s Ways are all good for us (1 Cor. 7:3-5). PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

  • How to Accept Jesus Christ | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Accept Jesus Christ How can we accept Jesus Christ and be certain that He lives in us? Jesus makes a plain statement in John 14:23-24 that if we keep His words, His Father loves us, and He and His Father will come to us and make their abode with us. He also makes it abundantly clear that if we won’t or don’t put His words—which He received from the Father—into daily practice, we definitely do not love Him. It should be clear, then, that Jesus lives only in those who keep His words and put them into daily practice. The words Jesus spoke are spiritual, and continually abiding in them—doing what He said—is the only way to assure that you have eternal life (John 15:6-7; Luke 6:45-48). “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life” (John 6:63). Jesus’ spiritual words are the directions to eternal life, as well as how to live a blessed life while here on earth (Acts 3:26). Jesus said plainly that He could do nothing by Himself, unless it was something He saw the Father doing (John 5:19). No wonder we are to imitate Him daily (1 Cor. 11:1)! We are to be pleasing in God’s sight, just as Jesus was, by living the Way He gave us example to live (Jer. 27:5; Eph. 5:10). If we were to write down all the things Jesus told those who follow Him to live, we would have the exact directions and requirements for eternal life. We would know exactly what is expected of us as true disciples of Jesus Christ. Jesus says plainly, if we keep His words, by living them daily, we will never see spiritual death (John 8:51). Then, whatever Jesus did or said must be the Will of the Father, that we must imitate daily, if we are to abide forever. “The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the Will of God abides forever” (1 John 2:17). If we say we believe in Jesus and expect to never die, we must live the life that Jesus lived as our example. Jesus said, “Everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:26). Many do not. Many are taught they need do nothing to be saved. The word “believe” means obey and adhere to the teachings of Jesus Christ (John 3:36). In order to accept Jesus Christ and be sure He is living in you, you must obey Him daily. You must live as He lived. It’s just that plain and simple! A beautiful person is kind and helpful and is always serving others. There seems to be not one selfish bone in this person’s body. They are patient and speak kindly of those who do wrong to them. They are so peaceful inside. You can just feel it by their presence. They really respect their Father in heaven. They wouldn’t think, or wouldn’t allow themselves to think of things that are displeasing to God. In fact, they just live to please the Father every minute of every day. This is where they say peace is found. If they ever hear of a situation where they can be of help, they are normally there, unless they are so busy helping someone else that they just can’t get away. They are a balanced person. They love their spouse as much or more than their own flesh, and they both love and cherish their gifts from God, their children. This person does not think their own thoughts, but lives by every word of God. They are truly a person with a heart for God, who walks as God walks. They even talk as God does. • How to Put Your Marriage Into the Will of God | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Put Your Marriage Into the Will of God How simple it is to live like Christ! No wonder He said His yoke is easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30). Many books have been written on marriage and marriage relationships, but how blessed is the man who turns to God, the author and creator of marriage. A godly wife is constantly doing things to please her husband because she knows this is pleasing to God. If her husband doesn’t notice some things she does for him, she doesn’t get upset because she knows God noticed and her rewards and blessings come from Him. If she demands that he notice what she does for him, then she is practicing self-righteousness to be noticed by her husband (Matt. 6:1). Instead, she does all that she does in word and deed in the name of Jesus Christ to glorify the Father in heaven, as Jesus instructs her to do (Col. 3:17; Matt. 5:16). She knows God has a book and He keeps accurate records on all the deeds she has done for His glory. She is bearing fruit for eternal life by disciplining herself according to godliness (1 Tim. 4:7). She knows that deeds done in Christ’s name result in great blessings, and that we will all be rewarded according to our deeds now, as well as when Jesus Christ returns (Rev. 22:12; Eph. 6:8; 1 Tim. 4:8). This is a double reward. She also knows that she overcomes her old nature by keeping Christ’s deeds (Rev. 2:26; Rom. 12:21). Problems in a marriage come from a lack of communication, which results in not being close to each other. When you were first married, you were close friends. This should never cease to be. Here are some tips on staying close: 1) Pray together in bed while holding one another’s hand. Pray for others, friends, family and loved ones who are in need. Your problems will seem small in comparison. 2) Never insist on your own way. Never demand. 3) Never threaten or give ultimatums. 4) Always forgive — always forget. Never let a bad moment turn into a bad day. 5) Always stay close to God in prayer. Therefore, when a couple that is living to please only God has a disagreement, they tell each other how they feel, and they both ask God to help them work it out. They leave all bad feelings with God (Eph. 4:26-27). Simple, isn’t it? What’s even better, it works! Try it! You’ll like it! You’ll be glad you did, and so will everyone else. • How to Worship God | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Worship God How does God want to be worshiped (Rev. 14:7)? God wants us to worship Him in a certain way. This Way is by practicing kindness one to another and being honest in all our dealings. He wants us to continue living this Way, waiting for the return of Jesus Christ (Hosea 12:6). He wants us to do good, instead of practicing evil, so God will be with us (Amos 5:14-15). God has told us what He considers good. Yes, this is to practice kindness and honesty, to walk as God walks, and stay humble and teachable (Micah 6:8; Eph. 5:1). God continually warned His people in the past to dispense true Justice - be honest in all dealings with men - and practice kindness and compassion toward others. He told them to take care of the widows and orphans in the land. He told them to make sure they did not oppress the stranger (one who is of a different nationality) in their land. God wants equal opportunity for each man, so He said not to devise evil toward another person (Zech. 7:9-10). People of the past would not change. Instead, they made their hearts like flint. They would not practice righteousness daily toward their fellow man for God! God sent His prophets to warn the people to change and to practice righteousness. This was the everlasting gospel of the prophets, and it was the message that got them stoned (Heb. 4:2; 11:35-37; Rev. 6:9). The way that a man should live is not in himself (Jer. 10:23). His heart is desperately wicked (Jer. 17:9). Instead, we are to trust in God and not lean on our own understanding (Prov. 3:5-6). We are to acknowledge Him in all our ways, saying, "If the Lord wills" (James 4:15). Pray to Him! Depend on Him! Put your faith in Him! Live for Him! Talk like He does! Walk like He does! Sing songs to Him. This is how you show your love to Him! This is how you truly worship Him in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). This is true worship of God. wholewheatonline.com Search How to Make a Convert for Christ In order to make a convert for Christ, one must follow the directions of Jesus Christ and His word. Would you agree? Does Jesus tell us to go door to door and ask people if they know where they are going when they die, and then proceed to tell them that they are going to hell if they don’t repent? Jesus’ instructions to us, from His word, are quite the opposite to what most people might think. Jesus says that before we can convert someone to Christ, we must first be converted to Christ ourselves. We must be fully trained as disciples or pupils of Christ; then we will be like our teacher (Luke 6:40). In order to be taught by our teacher, we must walk as He walks or live like He lives (1 John 2:6). We must first clean up our own lives to be impeccable examples of Christ for others and thus, show them the Way. If we try to bring others to Christ without first becoming converted, Christ calls us hypocrites (Luke 6:41-42). Jesus shouts from His word to those who call themselves Christians today, “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ (using my name all the time) and do not do what I say?” Jesus wants us to act on His word, not just talk about it (Luke 6:46-47). We are to show our love to others by our deeds, not words (1 John 3:18-19). We are to convert our loved ones without a word. Without a word! How? By your behavior (1 Peter 3:1). How is this done? Study to show yourself approved to God. Unless you study, God will consider you unapproved (2 Tim. 2:15—KJV). Then, in all things, show yourself to be an example of good works (Titus 2:7). Put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another (Col. 3:12-13). God wants you to learn to love the unlovable, like He loved you before you began living for Him daily. Love your spouse. Serve your spouse. Spend time with your spouse and enjoy life with your loved one, all the days of your fleeting life which God has given you under the sun (Eccl. 9:9, Eph. 5:22-33). Do not allow yourself to hold hard feelings against them and if you are angry with them, do not allow the sun to go down before you resolve your anger (Col. 3:18-19; Eph. 4:26-27). Do not argue at all, because this is breaking God’s command about repaying evil for evil or insult with insult. Be considerate and treat your spouse as a human and not as a child. Remember, you cannot change them. That’s God’s business and you are not minding your own business if you try. Pray to God and ask God to work with your spouse. Do not try to “lord it over them” or oppress them in any way. They have one Lord over them, and you might be getting in His Way. Remember, you cannot change them and for that matter, you can’t change yourself. Only God can change a person and He never made a nature He couldn’t change or crush (Rom. 16:20). Crushing our evil nature requires your cooperation though. You must live a repentant life by serving others daily for God (1 Cor. 3:7). This is what allows God to create a new nature in you so that you become a new creature or creation and have Christ’s nature formed in you (Gal. 4:19; 6:15). That is when you are made complete (2 Cor. 13:9, 11). Finally then, pray to God that perhaps God may grant those you care about repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth so they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil (2 Tim. 2:25-26). These are God’s directions and they work! Try following them! PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

  • How Do We Walk in the Spirit? | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How Do We Walk in the Spirit? It is common for people to be confused by the expression, "Walk in the Spirit." Let us analyze what it means to walk in the Spirit. The Bible says that if we live to the flesh, we will die (Rom. 8:13). Living to the flesh is practicing the evil deeds of the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21; Matt. 15:19; Rev. 21:8). When we are baptized, we agree not to live in the flesh or live for self any longer, but to repent and start living for God by living to the Spirit. God is that Spirit, and He wants to be worshiped in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). If we perform only God’s Will in our daily walk with God, we will not carry out the desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). If we carry out the desires of the flesh, that is sin (1 Peter 4:1-2). But if we keep God’s Will, we overcome evil by doing good works (Rom. 12:21). If we are zealous for good works, we leave no room for our old selfish will to operate (1 Peter 3:13). Thus, we are putting to death the sinful deeds of the body by living to the Spirit, which is living for God (Rom. 8:13). God wants us to consider ourselves as dead to sin but alive to righteousness, by presenting our bodies as slaves to righteousness daily (Rom. 6:11; 1 John 3:7). We prove whose side we are on when we live as slaves to Jesus Christ (1 John 3:10). We continue doing this until we pass the hypocritical stage of the Pharisees and begin doing the Will of God gladly from the heart (Matt. 5:20; Eph. 6:6). God is glorified by good works (Matt. 5:16). We are admonished to be sure to engage in good works and to learn righteousness because this is how we walk in the Spirit (Titus 3:8, 14). Salvation is a free gift that cannot be earned, but it only goes to those who are repentant and live to serve others for the glory of God. Remember always, you were saved to serve. • Forcing a Test | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Forcing a Test The devil tempted Jesus to jump down from a pinnacle, saying, "Is it not written that God will give His angels charge over You that You do not hurt Yourself?" Jesus answered, "It is also written, ‘You shall not force a test on God’" (Matt. 4:5-7). The New Covenant protects true servants of God from accidental ingestion of poison and from poisonous snake bites (Mark 16:18). But putting God to the test by willingly drinking poison or allowing yourself to be bitten by poisonous snakes would indeed be forcing a test on God. From time to time, certain religions have practiced these things, but they usually become extinct after a time! The puffer fish, caught off the coast of Japan, is served in fine Japanese restaurants as a delicacy. This fish at times contains a virulent poison that cannot be detected until after the person who eats it dies. People who order puffer fish realize they are taking a chance, but they continue to eat it anyway. When disciples of Jesus Christ eat what they know is not good for them to eat, they are indeed forcing a test on God. When believers smoke marijuana or cigarettes, which they know are unhealthful, they are forcing a test on God. When a person goes out on a limb and charges goods and services he cannot afford, saying, "I did it in faith that God would provide," he is forcing a test on God. Even many churches do the same thing by expanding their buildings in so-called faith and forcing a test on God because they do not have funds available to pay the bills. The Bible says owe money to no man (Rom. 13:8). This principle should be adhered to as much as possible. People need houses and cars, and in our modern society, it is nearly impossible to pay cash for such expensive items. However, people would have a lot less trouble if they did not run up bills, but would live within their means. Take time right now to examine your motives and determine if you are forcing a test on God in any areas of your life (Jer. 5:25). Are you going out on a spiritual limb, knowing it will not hold you, and trusting God to make sure the limb does not break? Are you spending money you do not have, hoping God will give you the money to pay your debts? Think, think, think! Then act wisely, with God’s wisdom and not your own (Matt. 6:33; Prov. 3:5-6; Psalm 21:2). • Have You Been Deceived? | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Have You Been Deceived? Jesus warns all His followers in the last days to be careful and not be religiously misled (Matt. 24:5, 24; Luke 21:8). How will you know, and how can you be sure when you are being deceived? What does God’s word say? Titus 2:14 says that those who follow Jesus Christ are purified and are zealous for good deeds. Titus 2:7 says in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds. The apostle Paul told his ministers to constantly tell those who have believed in God to be careful to engage in good works for God’s glory (Titus 3:8). Halley’s Bible Handbook says in regard to the book of Titus; “The grand emphasis of this Epistle (book) is “Good Works.” Not that we are saved by good works, but by His mercy (3:5), and justified by His Grace (3:7). But because of this we are under strict obligation to be “zealous for good works” (2:14); and “an example of good works” (2:7); “ready unto every good work” (3:1); “be careful to maintain good works” (3:8) maintain good works for necessary uses” (3:14). It goes on to say that one of the indictments of false teachers was that they were “unto every good work reprobates” which means they express their disapproval of good works and are not of God’s elect, if you look up the word reprobate. It then references Titus 1:16; “They profess to know God but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.” Could anything be more clear? If Satan can confuse the issue of good works, a confused Christian will have none and, as a result, he will continue living an unrepentant life. He will not be imitating the way God lives (Eph. 5:1). He will not be keeping God’s Will on earth, which is good works, as it is being kept in heaven (Matt. 6:10). Millions of self-proclaimed Christians are deceived and live disobedient, detestable lives before God because they remain worthless for good works for God’s glory (Titus 1:16). They are denying God! This is the broad way which the majority of Christians are treading down (Matt. 7:13). What, then, is the narrow Way that leads to eternal life which very few are finding (Matt. 7:14)? If you know that Jesus Christ lived righteously and did acts of righteousness continually like Dorcas (Acts 9:36), you know that every true believer who continually practices righteousness daily as Jesus did will be born of Him (1 John 2:29). Does this fact hit you like a hammer (Jer. 23:29)? You must daily imitate Christ to be like Christ, to clothe yourself with Christ and to have His nature formed in you (Gal. 4:19). Jesus Christ cannot be formed in you unless you do the things Jesus told you to do (Luke 6:46-48). Countless numbers of professing Christians have been told an incomplete gospel on the vital subject of works, and, as a result, they have none. If Jesus was zealous for good works for God’s glory—and He was—shouldn’t people imitate Him (1 Cor. 11:1)? The apostle Peter said, for as long as you practice these things you will never stumble (2 Peter 1:10). What was he talking about? Let’s read it and know that there is something to do for Jesus Christ if we are to be saved. Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours: Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities and they are increasing in measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you practice these things, you will never fail, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:1-11). The narrow Way, then, is perfecting holiness in the Lord by imitating Jesus daily and putting His words into daily practice (John 8:51). The broad way is to neglect these teachings. False ministers practice lawlessness (Matt. 7:22-23), while Jesus’ true ministers continually practice righteousness, preach and teach righteousness, and live the Way that Jesus lived. He lived this Way to give us an example to follow, so we should do likewise. It is very clear, the saved are the sheep (Matt. 25:33-40). They are the daily doers of God’s word (James 1:22). They serve others continually for the glory of God (Matt. 23:11; Mark 9:35). They are the ones who glorify God daily by living a life of good works as Jesus told us all to do. This is how they let their lights shine before others (Matt. 5:16). Satan hates good works done for God’s glory. He wants people to stay worthless for good works like him and his ministers who preach that message (Titus 1:16). He doesn’t want anyone to overcome evil (Satan) by continually doing good for God. Anyone who does overcome is imitating Jesus Christ and Satan loses another subject in his kingdom (Psalm 37:27; 2 Peter 1:10-11; Rom. 12:21). Now you can see the difference between the broad way and the narrow way, so turn the right way. Start living the right way and become zealous for serving and loving others as Jesus did for God. This is the righteous Way that Jesus came to show us. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

  • The 23rd Psalm Explained | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search The 23rd Psalm Explained Verse 1: “The Lord is my Shepherd”—He is the one I love and obey. I keep His Ways and do His Will daily upon this earth. I live only to do good each day for Him and do things that are pleasing in His sight. “I shall not want”—Everyone who seeks God’s kingdom by practicing righteousness for Him will have all needs and wants taken care of by the Lord. This is a God’s guarantee (Matt. 6:33). Verse 2: “He makes me lie down in green pastures”—The Lord satisfies my every need and gives me peace (green pastures). “He leads me beside quiet waters”—He keeps my life peaceful. My soul is at rest (Matt. 11:28-30). Verse 3: “He restores my soul”—God continually keeps my soul in the state of rest. “He guides me in the paths of righteousness”—He is continually teaching me about His word and His Way, which I do live. “For His name’s sake”—Yes, I do all that I do in good works or good words in the name of Jesus Christ to glorify Him—for His name’s sake (Col. 3:17). Verse 4: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death”—Even though there may be times when there are great calamities that happen in my life, I fear no evil because I know my God is with me and not against me, so I know He protects me from all evil (Job 5:19-27). “Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me”—God’s word is a rod of correction; also, the Lord is a staff and His word is a staff, as it guides me in God’s Ways so that I might do God’s Will daily (Heb. 12:6). Verse 5: “Thou dost prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies”—God is continually blessing me in the presence of my enemies. “Thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows”—The Lord has blessed my whole life with rich blessings to a point that there are so many, there is no room to receive all of them (Mal. 3:10; Luke 6:38; Prov. 3:9-10). Verse 6: “Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life”—I know that God will continue to bless me for the rest of my life because I know His truth and I practice His truth every day that I live (John 3:21). I continually live to be a servant of others for Jesus Christ, as He gave us example to do (Matt. 23:11; 20:16, 26-28; Mark 9:35; 10:43-45; Rom. 15:2-3; 1 Cor. 10:24; 11:1). “And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever”—I know I will live forever in the house of the Lord, in the Lord’s temple, because I am overcoming Satan’s influence in my life (his pulls on my flesh) by keeping the works of the Lord by doing good continually, as Jesus said we should, and enduring to the end (Rev. 3:12; John 8:51; 11:26; Rev. 2:26; Rom. 2:7; 12:21). I will live forever, because I have overcome Satan’s influence in my life by keeping Jesus Christ’s works as He commanded us to do, and I have overcome evil by doing good, as Jesus said we should (Rev. 2:26; Rom. 2:7; 12:21). • Principles of Success | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Principles of Success Success in life is knowing Jesus Christ. Success in life is knowing God’s Ways. We are successful in life when we persevere in doing what is right, for the glory of God. Success in life is abiding in Christ. Success in life is entering the kingdom of heaven, which is within us (Luke 17:21, KJV). These principles of success are the key to riches and honor and eternal life (Rom. 2:7). The mind of man cannot conceive what God has planned for those He loves. No good thing will He withhold from the person who lives the right way and glorifies God in heaven each day by doing good works (Psalm 84:11; Matt. 5:16). The righteous are repaid according to the deeds of love they have done in Jesus’ name (Col. 3:17). The Bible tells us that when we cast our bread upon the waters, after many days it will return to us (Eccl. 11:1). Yes, for every good thing we do, in service to others for the glory of God - expecting nothing in return, we will receive a reward many times more than the good we have done (Eph. 6:8; 2 Cor. 9:10). It is impossible to give more than God can. Those people who serve others are most precious. They are greatly appreciated by men as well as by God. How blessed is the man who considers the helpless, the poor and the needy. The Lord will deliver him in his day of trouble. The Lord will protect him and keep him alive. That person who helps and serves others shall be called blessed on the earth. The Lord will not only protect him from his enemies, He will also keep him alive when he is sick. He will restore such a person to health (Psalm 41:1-3). The Lord will give His Spirit to anyone who begins to obey what He says and turns at His reproof (Prov. 1:23). The Bible remains a closed book to those who refuse to repent and obey it (2 Cor. 4:3-4). To repent, is to begin to obey Jesus Christ by serving others. Jesus Christ is calling us to be servants of others. Jesus Christ, our example, did not come to be served - but to serve (Mark 10:45). He said the greatest among us would be the one who serves the most (Matt. 20:26-28; Phil. 2:2-5; Luke 9:48; Matt. 23:11; Mark 9:35; 10:43-44; 1 Cor. 10:24). These words are indeed the principles of success in this life and the one to come. Yes, Jesus Christ - our Lord and Master - came to show us how to be servants of others on a one-to-one basis, so we can be truly successful for God’s glory. Remember, if the righteous are scarcely saved, what is going to happen to those who will not obey the gospel of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 4:18)? For without holiness, which comes as a result of practicing righteousness, no one will see the Lord (Heb. 12:14, KJV). • The Purpose of Life - to find God | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search The Purpose of Life - to find God Many people are searching for the purpose of life. They are looking for the reason they were born, as well as trying to decide where they are going when they die. Many people are racing to and fro saying they must “find themselves.” Think about that for a moment. What are they really saying? They’re mixed up. They don’t know what they want. They say one thing and do another. They don’t feel good about themselves. They feel sorry for themselves. They’re selfish and want things only for themselves, even at the cost of hurting others. They want wealth, and if they get it, they still want more (Prov. 28:20, 22; 23:4; Haggai 1:6). Wake up, everyone! Isn’t it time to wake up? The purpose of life is to find God. God says that if you will seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might, you will find Him (Deut. 4:29). But if you don’t, you won’t. You seek God by beginning to live your life to please Him each day instead of ignoring Him each day (Acts 10:35). If you do ignore Him daily, He will ignore you daily, but if you live to please Him daily, He lives to please you daily. Sure sounds right, doesn’t it? That’s because it is right (1 John 3:22)! Please look up Romans 3:10-12, Psalm 14:1-3 and 53:1-3. Then, underline these phrases: “There is none righteous,” “There is none who understands,” and “There is none who seeks for God.” Next, underline: “There is none who does good [for God], not even one.” Why do you suppose Jesus Christ said we are to glorify the Father daily by doing good works, thus letting our lights shine (Matt. 5:16; 25:33-40)? He said this because that’s how you seek God, find Him and obey Him. It’s how you keep Jesus Christ’s words (John 8:51). But you cannot get weary and give up (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13). Rejoice! You have found the purpose of life…but only if you do it, and put Jesus Christ’s words into daily action in your life! wholewheatonline.com Search Suffering When you decided to stop living to the flesh and started to live to the Spirit by practicing righteousness to please God every day, things started happening to you that you may not understand (Rom. 8:13; 1 John 3:7; Matt. 5:16). The Apostle Peter says not to be surprised at the fiery ordeal that comes upon you for your testing. Do not think that some strange thing is happening to you. Instead, remember that you share in the sufferings of Christ. Keep on rejoicing so at the revelation of His glory, you may rejoice with great enthusiasm (1 Peter 4:12-13; Gal. 4:19). Look what is happening to you! "After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you" (1 Peter 5:10). You are being made complete in Christ (2 Cor. 13:9, 11). You are being made into a new creation (Gal. 6:15). God can do great things through our suffering, as He did all throughout the Bible. It is a unique way He works with us, teaches us and stimulates us in our conversion. Yes, we need endurance so that when we have done the Will of God - which is practicing righteousness - we may receive what is promised – a brand new nature created in us by God Himself (Heb. 10:36). We are told not to get weary in well-doing when we are practicing righteousness because that is how we allow God to form that new nature in us (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13; Titus 3:8, 14; 2:7). Now you can begin to see why the Scripture tells us to consider how to stimulate, provoke or encourage one another to more love and more good deeds or works (Heb. 10:24). Doing good works is how you put on Christ (Rom. 13:14). It is how you abide in Christ (John 15:5). It is how you imitate Christ and the Father (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1). Doing good works is how you put your old nature to death (Rev. 2:26). Doing good works for God’s glory is the way to crush your old, Satanic nature under your heel (Rom. 16:20). Yes, we must suffer to enter the kingdom within, but it is only momentary light affliction (Phil. 1:29; Rom. 8:17; Luke 17:21, KJV; Acts 14:22; 2 Cor. 4:17). By doing the Will of the Father daily, we come out of the captivity of Satan and put his will to death in our bodies (1 John 2:17; Heb. 10:36; Matt. 7:21; 2 Tim. 2:26). So let's understand suffering and know that God is working with us, making us perfect by perfecting Jesus Christ ‘s nature within us (Heb. 12:1-15, 23; Matt. 5:48; Gal. 4:19; 1 John 2:6). • How to Enter God's Rest | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Enter God's Rest "For the one who has entered Jesus Christ’s rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall through following the same example of disobedience" (Heb. 4:10-11). Let’s examine the facts stated in these verses. There is a godly rest that we are to enter. We enter it by resting from all our works. We must be diligent to enter that rest. We enter God’s rest when we cease from all our works of lawlessness (1 John 3:4). Works of lawlessness are the things we do when we live to the flesh. We must put these deeds of the flesh to death (Rom. 8:13; Gal. 5:16). How do we do this? By living to the Spirit! Jesus Christ said living to the Spirit, instead of to the flesh, is easy (Matt. 11:30). All we need to do is obey Him by imitating His behavior and the Father’s (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1). What did Jesus do? How did He do it? He kept the works of the Father exclusively. The good works He did were done in the Father’s name and in so doing, He glorified the Father (Matt. 5:16; John 10:25). He overcame the world by overcoming His nature (John 16:33). Jesus Christ was made perfect (Heb. 5:9). We also must strive to do the works of God (Luke 13:24). We must persevere and be zealous in doing the works of the Father (Rom. 2:6-7; Luke 21:19). We are commanded not to get weary in doing good works (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13; 1 Cor. 15:58). In fact, Jesus said many of us would do greater works than He did because He had to go to the Father (John 14:12). You might ask, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of the Father?" That is a legitimate question and it was asked of Christ in John 6:28. The works of the Father make up the Will of God (1 John 2:17; Matt. 7:21). God’s Will consists of any acts of righteousness done for God’s glory (Col. 3:17). You could keep your appearance up for God. Love your mate for God. Teach your children about God’s Ways, showing them that they receive a reward from God for each thing they do in His name (Matt. 6:1; Eph. 6:1-2, 7-8). Respect God’s name. Do not use it in profanity a day longer, because those who do are His enemies (Psalm 139:20). The more you do for God, the more He will do for you (Mark 4:24; Mal. 3:10; Luke 6:38; 2 Cor. 9:6). When all you sow is righteousness, then everything you reap will be a blessing! You will have entered God’s kingdom, which is within your new heart (Luke 17:21). You will have forced your way into the kingdom of heaven by disciplining yourself to do God’s Will (Luke 16:16). You will have overcome your old nature by being zealous for good works – Christ’s works (1 Peter 3:13; Rev. 2:26). You will have rested from all your works because you are only doing God’s works now. You will have entered God’s rest. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
