  • "All you have to do is believe in Jesus to be saved." | Misconceptions VS. Truth

"All you have to do is believe in Jesus to be saved." MISCONCEPTION: All you need to do is accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, say the sinner's prayer and believe in Him to be saved. THE TRUTH IS: We must be daily doers of God’s Will to be saved (Matt. 7:21; 1 John 2:17). The apostles were taught that to believe is to obey (John 3:36). We must keep Jesus Christ’s words by putting them into action daily in our lives (Luke 6:46) to receive salvation and never see death, so says Jesus Christ, who does not lie (John 8:51). • How to Receive Answered Prayer | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Receive Answered Prayer One of the many blessings that comes from living the new life in Christ is answered prayer (Rom. 6:4). Because we live only to please God every day by performing God’s Will in our lives, we assure our hearts before God and we can ask in prayer without doubting (John 9:31; 1 John 3:18-19; James 1:6). We know He considers us righteous because we practice righteousness for God (1 John 3:7). And we know He hears the prayers of the righteous (1 Peter 3:12; Prov. 15:29). We practice living as Jesus Christ lived and as the Father lives by keeping the sayings of Christ (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1; John 12:47; Luke 8:21). We also control our thoughts and the words we speak so that they are pleasing to God (1 Peter 4:11). But most of all, we use the members of our bodies as instruments of righteousness (Rom. 6:13; 1 Peter 3:11-12). We practice righteousness constantly to please God and to produce good fruits for Him (1 John 2:29; 3:10; John 15:8). The good fruits we produce on our spiritual trees are good works (Col. 1:10; Matt. 3:10; 7:17-20; Phil. 1:11). By conforming to godliness and by practicing righteousness, we allow God the Father to reveal His Son Jesus Christ in us (John 14:23; Gal. 1:16; 4:19). Keeping the commandments of Jesus Christ is not grievous, but very enjoyable (1 John 5:3; Matt. 11:30). It is the peaceful way that God created us to live (Jer. 10:23; Prov. 16:3; 20:24; Heb. 10:20, 24). We are at peace with ourselves because we are at peace with our Maker (John 17:13; 2 Thess. 3:16; Phil. 4:7). All we must do now is endure to the end (Matt. 10:22; 24:13; Rev. 2:26). We must remain loyal to God by remaining diligent and continuing to persevere in righteousness (Luke 21:19; Rev. 2:2-3, 19; Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13; Heb. 12:3). We have a purpose in life. We have found that purpose. We now know how to please God and complete our purpose by conforming our lives to His Way of life (1 Tim. 4:7; 6:3). Because we are seeking to please God in all our ways, we are abundantly blessed and our prayers are answered (Matt. 6:33; John 10:10; Mal. 3:10). • The Pearl of Great Price | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search The Pearl of Great Price Matthew 13:45-46 The pearl of great price is the knowledge of God’s Will. God’s Will is a mystery and the Lord reveals that mystery to His disciples only and not to the world (Eph. 1:9). God’s Will is the integral part of the message of the kingdom of God, which the Lord is only revealing to a few, those who have been given ears to hear and spiritual eyes to see in God’s word (Matt. 13:11, 16-17). The very proof that God’s Will is a mystery is very simple to demonstrate. How many of those who profess to be disciples of Jesus Christ do God’s Will on this earth daily, just as it is being done by God in heaven (Matt. 6:10)? How would you even know what that Will is, unless it has been revealed to you by God. The Will of God is not only typified as a pearl but also as the keys to the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 16:19). For unless you know the Will, you do not know the Way—if you do not know the Way, you are still religiously deceived, because you have received an incomplete gospel and incomplete message of salvation. This is why an angel of the Lord told the apostles to speak the whole message of this life (Acts 5:20). There were many gospel messages being preached in Jesus Christ's time, just as there are today, but the messages remain incomplete because they are only partial messages. It is because of this missing truth, the pearl of great price, that a person's life cannot change so he or she can become a new creature (2 Cor. 5:17). Then what is this pearl of great price? What is this hidden knowledge that will allow a person to repent and enter the kingdom of heaven within (Luke 13:3, 5; 17:21)? It is the message of righteousness—it is the Way of righteousness (Matt. 21:32; 2 Peter 2:21). It was simply called “The Way” by the followers of Jesus Christ some 2,000 years ago (Acts 18:25; 19:9, 23; 22:4; 24:14). It was a righteous Way of life, doing as much good for others as they possibly could daily. Jesus being their example, they were doing deeds of kindness and charity continually in their daily walk with God (Acts 9:36). Some of them were actually doing greater works of righteousness than Jesus did while He was here on this earth (John 14:12). Jesus had to return to the Father so He could send His Spirit, which would allow His followers to put on new natures and become new creatures in Christ Jesus (John 14:17-18). This powerful Spirit of truth would allow a disciple of Jesus to crush his evil nature with its evil passions and desires and become a new creation (Gal. 5:24; 6:15). The disciples were told that if they continually practiced righteous deeds towards one another, God would build in them a new nature. He would form Jesus' new nature in them (Gal. 4:19). They were not only told to engage in good works daily for repentance, but they were also warned not to get weary in well doing, for in due time they would reap the new natures as well as blessings from the Lord (Titus 3:8; 2 Thess. 3:13; Gal. 6:8-9). This is how we overcome our evil natures (by continually doing good) like Jesus overcame and gave us example of how it’s done (Rom. 12:21; 1 Peter 3:10-11; Eph. 2:10; Rev. 5:5). We are to overcome our evil natures by keeping the deeds that Jesus gave us example to keep, if we are not to be hurt in the second death (Rev. 2:26; 2:11). So the pearl of great price is God’s Will and God’s Will is righteousness—and that righteousness that we are to practice, daily on this earth, is the words that Jesus received from the Father (John 5:19; 8:51). For this is how we enter the kingdom of heaven, when the righteousness comes from our hearts and is no longer hypocritical (Matt. 5:20; 6:1; Eph. 6:6-8). Jesus said His Ways were very easy and pleasant to do (Matt. 11:30). Of course, we will never know unless we put our hands to the plow (which represents doing good works for God for repentance) and force our way into the kingdom within. We cannot look back (Luke 16:16). Hundreds, if not thousands, are now engaged in righteousness daily for God's glory. It is beyond human words to explain this glorious new Way of life. The Way of righteousness is God’s Way of purifying us for Himself, by being zealous for good deeds for the Lord (Titus 2:7, 14; Col. 3:17). Don't be a goat any longer but a sheep. Be a doer not a hearer. We are all saved by grace, so we should no longer live a disgraceful life before our Maker, but imitate His Way of life daily (Eph. 5:1). • The Mystery of the True Gospel | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search The Mystery of the True Gospel When Jesus talked, He changed lives. When the apostles preached what Jesus Christ had taught them, lives were changed by that one true message. Thousands responded with changed lives. Wealthy people gave large amounts to the poor and became rich in good works (1 Tim. 6:17-18). Zacchaeus, the tax collector, gave half of his wealth to the poor and paid back four times the amount he had extracted from people dishonestly, and then practiced righteousness (Luke 19:8). People sold their property and pooled it all together so that all might have substance (Acts 4:34-35). One thing was for sure, lives were changed. They were doers of the word (James 1:22). Consider Dorcas, a woman who was continually abounding in good deeds, works of kindness and charity (Acts 9:36). Consider Cornelius (Acts 10:2, 4, 22). We should consider him because God considered him. Cornelius gave money to the needy people and prayed to God continually. Not only that, but he had a respect for God’s commandments and walked in them by practicing righteousness as Noah did (1 John 3:7). Yes, the apostles were telling people to engage in good deeds for God in order to repent (Titus 3:8; Acts 26:20). It was not something they would naturally do as a result of having God’s Spirit; they had to learn to do it (Titus 3:14). Jesus said they would have to strive to overcome their natures by doing good (Luke 13:24; Rom. 12:21). Yet, by perseverance they would win their souls (Luke 21:19). Their good works would have to exceed that of the Pharisees if they were to enter the kingdom of God (Matt. 5:20; 7:21; Luke 17:21, KJV). They would have to do the Will of God to enter the kingdom (Luke 16:16). The easiest way was to consider themselves as slaves to righteousness until they could eventually do it happily from their hearts (Rom. 6:13, 18-19; Eph. 6:6). Wherever you found disciples of Jesus Christ back then, you found "do-gooders." They knew their deeds for God would assure them of being resurrected, but they also knew eternal life was a free gift that could not be earned (Rom. 2:6-7; John 5:29; Rev. 14:13; Eph. 2:8-10). They were subjecting themselves to the righteousness of God as Jesus Christ did (Rom. 10:2-3). They overcame their human natures by being zealous for good deeds, keeping Christ’s deeds instead of their own self-righteous deeds (1 Peter 3:10-13; Rev. 2:26). They knew faith without works is dead (James 2:17). You never saw so many people doing so much good. It was marvelous! It produced good fruits (Col. 1:10). It changed lives. Do not worry, they did all their deeds in Christ’s name to be sure that it was not self-righteousness they were practicing (Col. 3:17). They did their deeds in secret, just as the Lord commands us to do. This is the mystery of the true gospel. • God’s Marriage Laws of Love | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search God’s Marriage Laws of Love Colossians 3:18-19 Below is a list of God’s rules for a blessed marriage relationship: 1. Husbands are to love their wives and are not to allow themselves to harbor any hard feelings against them (Eph. 5:28-29). 2. Wives are to be in loving subjection to their husbands, because the Lord says they should for their own good (Eph. 5:22). 3. Married couples are not to deny one another (deny the needs of each other), because when they do, Satan can tempt them (1 Cor. 7:3, 5). 4. Do not repay evil for evil by arguing with one another, but seek peace and pursue it earnestly (Prov. 20:22; 1 Peter 3:11-12). 5. Never let the sun go down on your wrath by going to bed angry with one another by (Eph. 4:26). 6. Forgive one another daily (seventy times seven), so the Lord can continue to forgive you (Matt. 18:21-22). 7. Learn to serve one another daily so that you will be pleasing not only to the Lord, but to your mate as well (Mark 9:35; Rom. 15:2-3). 8. Let your charity for each other (kindness and love) shine so bright that others will imitate your godly example of love (Matt. 5:16). 9. The family that prays together stays together. Pray together each night for others, as well as for your own needs. Whenever two are in agreement with one another, it will be so (Matt. 18:19). If you follow these marriage laws of love, God can then teach you to love one another (1 Thess. 4:9; 2 Thess. 1:3). Then God will protect you from the evil one, Satan, who will try to destroy your marriage (2 Thess. 3:3). Remember always—through love, serve one another (Gal. 5:13). Walk by these spiritual laws and you will not carry out the evil desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16, 24). Your marriage will be blessed and you will be pleasing to God (Eph. 5:10). • Good News About the Kingdom | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Good News About the Kingdom Jesus Christ is coming soon as King of kings to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. He has promised co-rulership with Him to those of us who overcome (Rev. 2:26-27). Some of us will be kings and some priests and we will reign on this earth (Rev. 5:10). The good news is that we can enter that kingdom and become a part of it now. This comes about when God puts a new heart in us that will want to obey Him, as He promised He would. The good news is that Christ’s Way of life is very easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30). You see, it has to be simple because God is calling the sinners and not the righteous. He is calling the prostitutes and thieves, the lowly and simple, the foolish and base things of the world. Surprise! He is going to make world leaders out of these people to shame the wise (1 Cor. 1:26-29). How do we enter this kingdom and receive a new heart? We must practice righteous works - Jesus Christ’s works. It would be impossible to overcome our evil natures by keeping our old works of the flesh (Rev. 2:26; John 14:12). When everything we do in good works and good words is done in His name and not for self, then we are doing Christ’s works (Col. 3:17). If we are doing our works for Jesus Christ to glorify the Father, then they are not our own works, but Christ’s. We are keeping Christ’s sayings. Whatever He says to do, we do. We live to please the Father daily by glorifying Him the way He wants to be glorified - with good works (Matt. 5:16)! As soon as Satan’s nature is crushed inside you and put under your control, you have overcome the evil one (Rom. 16:20; 1 John 2:13-14). When your righteousness comes from the heart and you no longer have to force yourself to do God’s Will, you become a happy slave of righteousness (Eph. 6:6; Luke 16:16; Rom. 6:18). Do not delay. Start today, so Satan does not take away your desire to become a new creature (Gal. 6:15). • The True Meaning of the Word "Believe" | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search The True Meaning of the Word "Believe" On the surface, it looks as though all you have to say is, “I believe,” and you will be saved (John 3:16). But notice, the apostles taught the people all the things they were commanded to teach and observe (Matt. 28:20). For three years, Christ taught them what they should teach and taught them to be teachers (Luke 6:40). The apostles were taught that to believe is to obey (John 3:36). The apostles were also taught how to obey. You must keep Christ’s words in order to never see death, Jesus says (John 8:51). His words are not hard to keep or burdensome (1 John 5:3). “If you believe in Me, the works that I do you shall do also,” Jesus said (John 14:12). What kind of works did Jesus do? He did good works and He instructed His disciples to do the same. Yes, doing good works is how you glorify the Father (Matt. 5:16). The Bible says that the devil and his demons believe, but they do not obey (James 2:19). They are not doers of the word, but merely hearers who remain deluded (James 1:22). The apostles were very confident about telling people to engage in good deeds (Titus 3:8). They told them it was something they would have to learn to do (Titus 3:14). They were to be slaves to righteousness and slaves of Jesus Christ until they did the Will of God (righteousness) from the heart (Eph. 6:6). When they did God’s Will from the heart, they would be His bond-servants. A bond-servant of God is one who serves only God as a slave of righteousness. Jesus Christ is making a peculiar people who are zealous for good deeds done in His name (Titus 2:14). This is how you overcome your old nature—by keeping Christ’s deeds or works (Rev. 2:26) Yes, the Bible says this is the only way to overcome, and only those who overcome will receive eternal life (Rev. 3:5, 21). All true disciples of Jesus Christ are bond-servants to God. They are called this because they live their lives to be pleasing to God by being happy servants of others. This is how you imitate God (Eph. 5:1; 1 Peter 4:11). And this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ, which is how you conform your life to godliness to be pleasing to the Lord (1 Tim. 6:3; 5:10). It takes daily discipline but it sure is an easy and pleasant way to live (1 Tim. 4:7; Titus 1:1; Matt. 11:30). So, to say you believe, is to say you obey and are doing the deeds that Jesus did by serving others daily for the glory of God. • Your Only Protection is Righteousness | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Your Only Protection is Righteousness In Isaiah 3:10 it states, “Say to the righteous that all will go well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their own actions.” In the past, if there were ten righteous people in a town, the Lord would spare the whole city (Gen. 18:32). Noah was the only one righteous in his day, and God spared his family too (Gen. 7:1). Job was the only one on the earth in his day who lived for God and walked with God by serving others, and thus, he was turning away from evil by doing so (Job 1:8; 2:3; 29:12-17). In the Prophet Jeremiah’s day, God said to him, “Roam back and forth through the streets of Jerusalem to see if you can find one person who is seeking Me by seeking the truth [My word] by being just [charitable] in all his ways towards his neighbor [others] and who is only living to do good to others, and I will pardon the whole city of Jerusalem” (Jer. 5:1). Today the Lord’s policy is; we will deliver only ourselves by our righteousness, as Noah, Job and Daniel did in Ezekiel 14:13-20. Say to the righteous that all will go well with them in those days, for they shall eat the fruit of their actions (Is. 3:10). When you personally walk with God daily, by keeping His Ways, you are very special in God’s eyes and He hears your prayers. This is because you show Him respect daily, by doing His Will by serving others (Psalm 4:3; John 9:31). The Lord will make you prosper(Psalm 1:3). God will not forsake those who seek Him, by doing good daily to please Him (Psalm 9:10; Rom. 3:10-12). Jesus only lived to do good by being a servant to others. He did this to please the Father. He only lived to do the Father’s Will, which is doing good and helping others. Jesus was imitating the Way the Father lived in heaven. He was zealous for what was good (1 Peter 3:13). He came to make disciples who would purify their lives before Him, by being zealous for what is good (Titus 2:14). Jesus, then, let His light shine before others daily by doing good works, and He glorified the Father in heaven by doing so (Matt. 5:16). He instructed all who would follow Him to do the same daily by continually living a life of practicing righteousness (Matt. 6:1). This is the Lord’s true gospel that was once delivered to the saints (Jude 3). In the Way of righteousness there is life, and in that path there is no death (Prov. 12:28). The righteous are not only protected but also blessed (Psalm 5:12; 34:17-19). God is their strength in times of trouble (Psalm 37:3-5). Righteousness, then, delivers you from death (Prov. 11:4-15). God tells you plainly in Zephaniah 2:3 to seek Him by doing good daily to please Him. Seek or learn God’s righteousness—seek or learn to live humbly before God. Why? Perhaps you will be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger that is coming shortly (Luke 21:36 King James Version). You cannot prepare when it gets here, so now is the time to make all your ways pleasing in God’s sight and purify your life before Him daily, by being zealous for good deeds in all that you do (Col. 1:10; 3:17). Isn’t this what He would have you do? Remember always, your only protection from God’s wrath is your righteousness, so never become lukewarm or weary in doing good (Rev. 3:15; 2 Thess. 3:13; Gal. 6:9; 1 Tim. 2:10; 2 Tim. 2:12). Then you will have the seal of God on your forehead (Rev. 9:4; 7:3). PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

  • Living With a Heart of Love | Daily Grains

Living With a Heart of Love When we practice charity toward others in word and deed throughout the day, our sins and shortcomings are forgiven because charity covers a multitude of sins. Jesus said, "But give that which is within as charity, and all things are clean for you." He was telling us that we can live a sinless life before God each day when all our actions come from a heart of love. He makes it possible, and so enjoyable. It is time to have an attitude of gratitude toward God and live only to please Him each day. It is time to imitate Jesus Christ and live a life of charity, and be obedient to His word. Now is the time to be found innocent and blameless in the midst of an increasingly perverted and sinful world. Don’t you agree? Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all transgressions. Proverbs 10:12 But give that which is within as charity, and then all things are clean for you. Luke 11:41 For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:20 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:29-30 When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. • Matters of the Heart: A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Matters of the Heart: A Woman to Woman Article The condition of our heart really matters to our Lord. We can try to put on a false front to those around us, but we cannot fool God. He knows what we think and how we feel. When He chooses us, He has a very special plan for us. Part of His plan is to work with and change our heart. He says in Colossians 3:12-13, “Those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.” And, Colossians 3:14 says: “And beyond all these things, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.” There is a picture to grasp from these verses. When Satan runs evil thoughts by us, we are to turn off those thoughts and think about helping others—not only with our hands, but with our minds and our mouths too. There is a saying so true, which is: “We are what we think, not what we think we are.” When we think about what we can do to be compassionate, we can then speak and act with compassion. When we think about what we can do to be kind, humble, gentle and patient, we will then be all of these wonderful things and fulfill the law of God. In all these things, love is the bottom line. We can successfully carry out all God’s wonderful fruits of the Spirit when we think, and act, with love (Gal. 5:22-23). Another matter of the heart is peace. Colossians 3:15 talks about peace ruling in our heart. Peace rules when we think peaceful thoughts. However, one may constantly think of how evil the world is becoming. This is true; this is a fact. But we need to think on how we can make the world a better place by showing love—saying good words and doing good works (actions) toward others for God. We can be assured that our Lord is fulfilling His prophecies, and we can think of all the positive things happening to make this all come about. One way I keep peace in my heart, is I love to listen to good, uplifting music. (Go to the MORE page to hear some of Karren's original gospel music). It makes my thoughts very pleasant. Colossians 3:16 says: “Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in our hearts to God.” I’d say that about sums it up perfectly! • The Bible is... | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search The Bible is... The Bible is a book on love (John 15:12). It is a book on how to love your neighbor as yourself (Gal. 5:13-14), how to love God and how to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Jesus was constantly doing good each day to please the Father (Acts 10:38). He gave us a clear example of how easily this can be done (Matt. 11:30). He fed the hungry, He healed the sick, He helped the needy and He forgave sinners (Matt. 25:31-40). Jesus was constantly doing acts of kindness and charity. Why did Jesus Christ live this way? He was glorifying the Father by doing good works (Matt. 5:16). He was overcoming evil by doing good (Rom. 12:21; Rev. 5:5; John 16:33). He was learning obedience to the Father by disciplining Himself according to godliness (Heb. 5:8; Titus 1:1). As a result of His daily actions of righteousness, the Father was able to perfect Him (Heb. 5:9). He endured suffering for doing what was right continually (1 Peter 4:1), and He endured to the end. Jesus, in every respect, showed the successive stages of spiritual growth. He was baptized. He received the Spirit. He was made weak. He was tempted by Satan. He continued to obey God. He was persecuted for doing good. He suffered for doing good. He endured to the end as an example of good works for God’s glory. He told us to do the same. He died for our sins that we might live righteously as He lived, and He gave His life to show us how to live righteously before God in an ungodly world each day. The word of God is a book that tells how to get the most out of life. It explains how to live forever and how to be God’s friend. The Bible defines sin and righteousness. It demonstrates how to be prosperous. It is a book of wisdom that teaches us how to do God’s Will on this earth as it is done in heaven. The Bible is a spiritual book. It was written by the Spirit of God as God moved men to write it. It is a book that cannot be understood by those who won’t live it. The Bible is revealed knowledge by God to individuals who live holy lives. Unless you live a holy life before God each day and study, not read, it to show yourself approved to God (2 Tim. 2:15), your understanding of the Bible will always remain incomplete. When you live to please God each day by doing the things He would have you do, you are considered holy, righteous, saved, born again, sanctified, justified, sinless, godly and upright. By imitating the way Jesus lived daily, you are in Christ. When you continue to abide in Jesus Christ, you are clothed with His righteousness. You build godly character in your life by serving others for God in secret (Matt. 6:1), helping the elderly, the lonely, the blind, the lowly, the orphan, the widow, or those who have no one to help them. You are considered righteous by God because you are practicing righteousness toward others as God’s word commands (1 John 3:7, 10, 18; Col. 3:17). Do you know why God doesn’t allow most people who read the Bible to understand it? Do you know why the gospel is veiled and hidden by God, who is allowing Satan to blind people’s minds from truly understanding the gospel (2 Cor. 4:3-4)? If you were blinded, you would have no sin. But when you are allowed to see what the truth is and you do not live it, your sins remain and could cost you your salvation (John 12:47-48). Therefore, God has shut up all in disobedience that He might have mercy on all. Oh, the depth and riches and wisdom of God (Rom. 11:32-33). Jesus said, “If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin” (John 15:22). He was referring to sin leading to eternal death. But now they have no excuse for their sin. Now we can see that those who understand the message of the kingdom of heaven no longer have an excuse for their sins. Whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil that is over his eyes is removed (2 Cor. 3:16). What a message. What a truth! • "Because of God's grace, works are not necessary.” | Misconceptions VS. Truth

"Because of God's grace, works are not necessary.” MISCONCEPTION: Because we are saved by God's grace there is nothing else required for salvation. Many believe we are saved by grace through faith, and not a result of works, that anyone should boast. THE TRUTH IS: This is only half true, and not the complete message. The world quotes Ephesians 2:8-9, omitting verse 10. This omission makes the subject of works incomplete. Ephesians 2:10 states we were created for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Repentance requires a life of good works, as Jesus gave us example of. Also, Titus 3:5-7 is quoted out of context by many to discourage doing good works, when verse 8 specifically states that true ministers of God are to constantly remind those who say they believe in God to be careful to engage in good works. Titus 3:14 and 2:7, 14 are proof that the book of Titus is literally a book that encourages those who follow Jesus Christ to be rich in good works for God. Titus 1:16 mentions those who are traveling the religious broad way that leads to destruction. They remain worthless for good works for God and as a result, continue to live detestable and disobedient lives before God. Jesus was zealous for good deeds for the glory of the Father and this is what He commanded those who would follow Him to do (Matt. 5:16; Titus 2:14). If you don’t or won’t do this, you deny Jesus Christ in your life. Repentance requires a life of doing good for God, if we are to receive the free gift of salvation. Let’s say it like it is. Jesus’ faith had works of righteousness. He glorified the Father in heaven by these works of righteousness that He did daily to please the Father. He instructed those who would follow Him and be His true disciples to do the same (Matt. 5:16). These works are to be done by practicing righteousness or acts of love daily towards others for God (Matt. 6:1; 25:40). This is how to love your neighbor as yourself. When Jesus resurrects all who are in their graves, only those who had good works will come to a resurrection of eternal life (John 5:29; Rom. 2:7). Why then would the world’s ministers discourage many from having any good works? • What is the Reward of the Righteous? | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search What is the Reward of the Righteous? If all the rewards for being righteous were known, we would have many more people who would want to be disciples of Jesus Christ. "Who is the Almighty that we should serve Him?" (Job 21:15). What would we gain if we did? Is there any pleasure to the Almighty if you are righteous, or profit if you make your ways perfect (Job 22:3; Matt. 5:48)? You bet there is! The following are just a few examples: 1. God hears your prayers and delivers you from trouble (Psalm 34:17; James 5:16; Prov. 11:8). 2. The Lord will not allow the righteous to hunger in times of famine (Prov. 10:3). 3. You will be delivered from death (Prov. 11:4). 4. You will be rewarded with prosperity (Prov. 13:21). 5. You will be protected from harm (Prov. 12:21). 6. You are guaranteed answered prayer (Prov. 15:29; John 9:31). 7. You will be protected from a whole list of woes (Job 5:20-27). 8. God will save you from sickness (James 5:14; Psalm 41:3). The list goes on and on, but how can we be righteous in God’s eyes (Psalm 145:17-18)? The word of God says those who practice righteousness for God are righteous, even as God is righteous (1 John 3:7). It also says those who practice righteousness are truly born of Him (1 John 2:29). The righteous give and do not hold back (Prov. 21:26; Luke 6:38; Acts 20:35; Matt. 6:2). The righteous are concerned for the poor (Prov. 29:7). Compare Ezekiel 18:14, 16, 17, Job 29:12-16, and Job 31:16-23 with Matthew 25:35-36. God never changes. Compare Job 22:7 with Matthew 25:42-43. Yes, there is a Way of righteousness (Matt. 21:32). It is the Way all who love God live. We prove our love for God by the way we live (John 15:8). Now is the time to live like God by living for God, as Jesus Christ did, showing us His pure and simple Way (Eph. 5:1; John 6:38; 2 Cor. 11:3). • Faith Without Works is Dead | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Faith Without Works is Dead Faith without works is dead (James 2:26). Sure enough, the faith that Jesus expects of His true followers includes good works, as He Himself gave us example to do (John 10:32). Jesus even stated that many of His followers would do greater works than He did (John 14:12). Remember also that God in heaven is glorified by good works done for repentance, spiritual growth and blessings, and this is how true disciples let their lights shine before others (Matt. 5:16). Doing good works is how we imitate Jesus Christ, and how we overcome evil. It is the key that allows Jesus to reside in us and live His life through us in the form of the Holy Spirit (John 14:23). God’s Will in heaven is good works of love and charity (Matt. 6:10). It’s certainly not bad works. A life of good works is the life true followers are called to live (Eph. 2:10). We are not saved by good works, but we repent by doing good for God in Jesus Christ’s name (Acts 26:20; Col. 3:17). No one can deny that. What kind of good works should we do? Keep up our personal appearance and hygiene for God so that we can be godly examples to others (Titus 2:7-8). Keep our homes or apartments neat and clean for God to be good examples to others when we entertain or show hospitality (Luke 14:13). Help or do good to an orphan or a widow for God (James 1:27). These are just some of the many examples we can find in the Bible. Practice doing good continually for others for God. Perform deeds of kindness, deeds of charity, and deeds of good will, like Jesus left us example to do. If we are constantly concerned about doing good for God, then we are leaving a life of evil behind (Job 1:1). By not giving ourselves a moment to do what is evil, we can overcome evil by doing good so we will abide forever (Psalm 37:27; Rom. 12:21; 1 Peter 3:10-11; 3 John 11). When we are zealous for good works, we purify our lives before God, and our faith is not dead but alive in righteousness (Titus 2:14; James 2:14, 26; Heb. 10:20; Rom. 6:18; 8:10; 1 Peter 2:24). • Picture Perfect: A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Picture Perfect: A Woman to Woman Article Have you ever been shopping and looked at beautiful pictures, perfectly framed? I love looking at pictures, especially of landscapes and flowers. I can get totally lost in a beautiful picture. It’s like being in another world or another space in time. There’s something very pleasant about this feeling. It’s filled with peace and tranquility. Think of your favorite painting or picture. How do you feel about it? Perfectly wonderful? God has painted His “picture perfect” Ways in His word. This picture has a focal point as does any beautiful painting. All the Scriptures compliment the focal point. One Scripture that points out this focal point is James 1:27. The key words in this Scripture are: Pure religion, undefiled. What is this “pure religion” all about? Pure religion was demonstrated by Jesus Christ when He walked on this earth. He was a continual example of kindness, goodness, peace, compassion and love towards others. Wherever He went, He did good for others. He expects us to imitate Him and do the same (Matt. 5:44). If everyone in this world really did imitate Jesus Christ, would their be crime? Would their be poverty? Would their be misery? God has called us to come out of this world, out of crime, misery and poverty into a life of kindness, goodness, compassion and love, which glorifies our heavenly Father above. He wants us to leave the old behind and put on His new nature. Second Corinthians 5:17 says: “Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” Yes, new things—new ways—a brand new life! It is exciting, and it’s time to stop suffering because of sin (Jer. 5:25). There is a “better way” to live! That way is God’s Way, and it’s the Highway of Holiness that leads to happiness (Is. 35:8). Look around! How many happy people do you actually see in a day? When I go to the store, I see people who hate their jobs and could care less if they helped me. I smile and say something clever, or I just say, “Have a good day!” Most respond and come out of their inward shell. We are here on this earth to make a difference in people’s lives for the good. God is calling us to His pure religion of serving all who cross our path, including widows and orphans. Let’s paint our picture perfect Of God’s most precious Ways, By living just to please Him All of our days. Let’s paint our picture perfect Of God’s wonderful love, By serving all others Glorifying God above. Let’s paint our picture perfect Of God’s wonderful peace, By overcoming evil, Old ways then will cease. Let’s paint our picture perfect Of God’s wonderful deeds, And be a good example And thus, plant good seeds. • Will You Be Able To Stand? | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Will You Be Able To Stand? Noah was the only person God found who was practicing righteousness in his day (Gen. 6:9; 7:1). Noah stood alone before God. He didn’t need a church, nor did he depend upon a body of people to provoke him weekly to do good for God. Noah was mature in his walk with God. His relationship was complete. We cannot be found righteous unless we live righteously every day. If we never do anything for God, by serving others in need as Jesus Christ our example did, we are not righteous, neither are we considered righteous by God. How is your personal relationship with God? By the time you’ve finished this article, you will see exactly what must be done to make it like Noah’s. Enoch, Abel, Job, Abraham, Elijah and the prophets of old were all righteous. They stood before God and stood alone as mighty men of God. Even when Job’s friends tried to discourage him, and his wife told him to curse God and die, Job’s one-to-one faith in God stood firm (Job 2:9-10). Many doers of the word who worshiped God in the past willingly gave their lives to God and laid down their lives as testimonies of their solid, unshakable, stand-alone faith. They trusted in the Rock of their salvation, Jesus Christ, and as a result, became solidly established in their faith—as rocks. The requirements of our faith in Jesus Christ are: A. Practice righteousness for God and keep Jesus Christ’s words and sayings (John 8:51). Continue to do God’s Will daily in our lives, remaining faithful by continually doing so. B. Study God’s word continually to find out what God’s Will is, and perform it daily in our lives (Eph. 5:17) C. Honor the Lord with your wealth, by setting aside from each paycheck a certain amount with which to do good for God (Prov. 3:9-10). This is God’s money and no longer ours. It is entrusted to us by God. We are His trusted servants who distribute that money to the poor, the needy, the stranger, or anyone who would borrow from us. You do not need to spend it all before the next paycheck, but safeguard what is put aside for God in your trust, and use it continually to do His Will. God Himself will continually teach you what to do with this amount you have set aside regularly to honor Him. God always teaches those who continually obey Him on a personal basis. He teaches us how to love one another, how to serve, how to give, how to share, and how to forgive one another continually. He wants to teach us about His Ways, but He can’t do this unless we continually, on a daily basis, imitate the Way He lives. D. Pray constantly for guidance, and for others (2 Tim. 1:3). Prayer is the tool we use to commit all our ways to God. It is how we break down all the strongholds of sin in our lives and put them into the captivity of Jesus Christ, making all our ways Christ’s Ways. It is how we telephone God and keep in touch daily. Prayer is how we make known to Him all our needs and desires. It is our hot line, a direct connection to the God whom we serve daily. Always remember, we have great favor with God because we serve others daily on His behalf, which makes us His true servants. We are continually serving others, and, as a result, we are continually growing more and more like Christ each day. We know the secret that God causes the growth when we serve others as Jesus Christ gave us example to do in His name (Col. 3:17). We know the secret, that unless we imitate Jesus Christ daily, we will never be like Him. We know that imitating Jesus Christ is how we repent, how we abide in Christ, how we clothe ourselves with Christ, how we become doers of the word of God, and how we overcome our evil natures and have Christ formed in us. If these things are in our lives and are continually increasing, we will never fail (2 Peter 1:3-10). God is making stand-alone disciples. He wants us to be stimulated to more love and good works daily, drawing near to Him through personal Bible study and as He continues to allow, through all the resources He has provided us on wholewheatonline.com, to stir up by way of reminder the simple truth God has called us to (Rom. 15:4-5; Heb. 3:13; 2 Peter 1:12-13). He wants us to seek Him with all our heart, and develop our one-to-one relationship with Him, maturing in our faith, so we are able to stand alone; going to Him for all our needs and learning to discern His voice (1 Chronicles 28:9; John 5:44; Acts 17:27; James 4:8; John 10:27). He wants us to be an example for those in our life that are not yet mature (Titus 2:7-8, 1 Tim. 4:12). Will you help Him and learn to stand-alone? Will you be His example of love? Will you show by your godly life and example how to live a repentant life before God daily (Heb. 5:12-14)? If you do, you will not only have found the purpose of life, but you will be living it and showing it in all your thoughts, words and deeds. You will be letting your light shine for God’s glory (Matt. 5:16). You will be an ambassador for Christ (2 Cor. 5:20). You will be like Noah, and will be ready for all that is to come (1 Cor. 16:13; 1 Pet. 5:8; Matt. 24:42). You will be the apple of God’s eye, His trusted servant, the one of whom He loudly proclaims, “This is my beloved son (or daughter) in whom I am well pleased” (2 Pet. 1:17). God is, and always will be, your friend because you cared enough for Him to have Jesus Christ formed in you (John 15:14). When you are fully trained, you will be like your Teacher, because you have been taught by Him (Luke 6:40). Now, you will be able to stand. • "There is nothing required for repentance." | Misconceptions VS. Truth

"There is nothing required for repentance." MISCONCEPTION The subject of overcoming. THE TRUTH IS: We must overcome to be saved (Rev. 2:7). We overcome by keeping and performing daily the deeds that Jesus came here to show us. We must endure, keeping them, and stay true to Jesus right up to the end of our lives in order to be saved (Rev. 2:26). If only those who overcome will not be hurt in the second death, then what will happen to those precious people who are searching for God in all the wrong places who have never even heard of the message of overcoming (Rev. 2:11)? If overcoming is required to be a disciple of Jesus Christ or your name is erased from the book of life, doesn’t it stand to reason that there is more to the watered-down salvation message than the world is being told by those who are spiritually blind (Rev. 3:5; Matt. 15:14)? Look at all the Scriptures on overcoming that are left out of this world’s message of salvation: Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21; 5:5; 21:7. Jesus was righteous. He came to show us how to live righteously and be righteous like He was. To be righteous, you must do acts of righteousness toward others for God (Matt. 25:40), using your body as an instrument of righteousness for God as Jesus did and gave us example to do (Rom. 6:13). We are to live like Dorcas did, who was abounding with deeds of kindness toward others, which she continually did (Acts 9:36). We purify ourselves and allow the Lord to change us by always being zealous for doing good (Titus 2:7, 14; 1 Peter 3:13). This is how we overcome the evil one in our lives—by continually doing good for others (Psalm 34:14; 37:27; 1 Peter 3:11; Rom. 12:21; Rev. 2:26). The fear of the Lord is to seek God and show Him respect by doing good daily (Rom. 3:10-12). This is how to show God reverence daily (Psalm 34:9-14). Now, if it is with great difficulty that the righteous people we have just mentioned are saved (1 Peter 4:18), you know the world has not heard the true message of the gospel; but now you have. Now you know how to overcome. You have been told how it’s done daily. God’s word says we are to put to death the evil deeds of the body with His Spirit daily if we are to live forever (Rom. 8:13-14). If we walk by the Spirit, we will not carry out the evil desires of the body, says Galatians 5:16. Walking by the Spirit means keeping God’s Ways. Walk with God like Enoch walked. Keep Jesus Christ’s words, and if you keep them, that means you do them or perform them in your life daily (Luke 6:46; John 8:31). How many people do you know or have you met who have crushed the flesh with its evil passions and desires and fulfilled Galatians 5:24? Now you know how to fulfill this Scripture in your life, and have no more excuse for your sins (John 15:22; Heb. 10:26-27). • What is Sin? | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search What is Sin? Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil and He tempts no one. But each one is tempted when he dwells on sin and is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then, when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death (James 1:13-15). The above is the process by which sin is conceived in the human mind. If we never dwelled on sin, sin would never be conceived in our minds. Dwelling on wrong thoughts -or sin- results in wrong actions. Does that mean Jesus never had wrong thoughts go through His mind? No, of course it doesn't! But He never dwelled on them, so He never carried any of them out (Heb. 5:8-9; Is. 7:14-16). The tempter is Satan. Those who are tempted are humans (1 Thess. 3:5). We tempt ourselves and Satan also tempts us, just as he tempted our perfect example, Jesus Christ (Luke 4:1-2). Dwelling on what is wrong is sin because what you dwell on becomes the desire of your heart. Jesus Christ said that if you dwell on adultery, you have already committed it in your heart (Matt. 5:28). A premeditated murder is dwelt upon and planned. Our Creator instructs us to dwell only upon what is good, so we will always say and do things that are good and pleasing to the Lord (Phil. 4:8-9). Our Father wants us to overcome our evil natures by doing good every moment of every day (Rom. 12:21; 2 Cor. 10:5). Who can stop you from only thinking good thoughts, from only saying good things and from only doing good things? Your old nature will try to stop you. Satan will try to tempt you. But who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good (1 Peter. 3:13)? No one! So dwell not on evil and sin not. Dwell only on good and do only good for God! Then you will not carry out the desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

  • The Overlooked Message of Salvation | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search The Overlooked Message of Salvation It is true that we all need forgiveness from God. We all need to accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. We all need to believe in Jesus Christ. We all are in need of God’s grace and forgiveness. We all need to pray, as it were, the sinners prayer, and we all need to be covered by the blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins. But the most important requirement in the process of salvation is being completely overlooked and forgotten. We all need to repent. We not only need to repent, but we desperately need to know how to repent. God, Himself, commands us to repent and be saved from this evil generation. “Repent or you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3). The Bible sternly warns, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matt. 3:2; 4:17; 10:7). There is quite a difference between the repentance of 2,000 years ago and today. When people repented in Jesus Christ’s day, the way they lived changed 180 degrees. The most permanent thing about the lives of the early believers was change. And change they did. They all became zealous doers of God’s word (Titus 2:14; James 1:22)! How did they become doers of God’s word? How was their faith so different from thousands who profess Jesus Christ today? Their faith had works. It was not a dead faith. It was alive! Wherever true followers of Jesus Christ happened to be, they were zealous for good works (1 Peter 3:13; Titus 2:7). They did not do their works for the reason of salvation, which they all knew was a gift of God and could never be earned. Their good works were done for repentance as a result of being given the gift of salvation by God. To those who have ears to hear, listen (Mark 4:23)! Repentance must result in a life of good works or it is not repentance! A person can say, “I repent, I repent, I repent,” all day long, but if that person’s life does not change or continually display a life of doing good, then repentance is dead all by itself. Not only that, but that person’s faith is dead also, for God’s word says faith without works is most certainly dead (James 2:14-26). Those whose faith is void of works are not practicing repentance and as a result, there can be no spiritual fruit on their trees and no spiritual growth in their daily lives before God. God must cause the growth but true believers must imitate God by keeping His Ways daily (1 Cor. 3:7; Eph. 5:1). In order for God to cause the growth, we must do the repenting. We all know that Jesus Christ lived to glorify the Father by the Way He lived daily. We also know He glorified the Father by good works, not bad works. Jesus commanded His true disciples to glorify the Father in heaven by good works and to let their lights shine by being examples of good deeds (Matt. 5:16; Titus 2:7). All those who profess to know Jesus Christ and remain worthless for good works not only deny Jesus Christ in their daily lives, but continue to live detestable and disobedient lives before God (Titus 1:16). They remain unrepentant. God is angry and upset with thousands of people who profess His name but do not live His life daily by imitating Jesus Christ, His son. Why is He upset? Because these people are not coming out of sin by engaging in a life of righteousness, and as a result, they remain unrepentant. How many who profess the name of Jesus Christ today are living like the true sheep of the Shepherd, Jesus Christ, as described in Matthew 25:33-40? How many are doing these works of righteousness, whether they be in words or deeds, in the name of Jesus Christ for the glory of the Father, as we are commanded to do in Scripture (Col. 3:17)? Do you know that you have to force yourself to do good because doing what is evil comes quite naturally? Yes, you must force or press your way into the kingdom of God that is within you (Luke 16:16; 17:21). Did you know that every time you force yourself to do good for God you resist evil and build godly character? Did you know this is how you discipline your body according to godliness (1 Tim. 4:7)? Did you know this is the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness (Titus 1:1)? The word of God says if anyone comes to you with any other message than the doctrine that conforms you to godliness and the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ, that person is conceited and understands nothing (1 Tim. 6:3). If anyone does not abide in the teaching of Jesus Christ and the doctrine that transforms you into a godly, holy, upright and beautiful person, you are not to receive him into your house or give him a greeting (2 John 9-10). Today, Jesus warns us not to be religiously misled, for many will come preaching in the name of Jesus saying, “Jesus is the Christ, I am He,” signaling that the end of the age is at hand (Mark 13:6). Jesus said, “Don’t go after them” (Luke 21:8; Matt. 24:4). Who are these men? They love to have others look up to them as being righteous and come to them for salvation. However, they do not produce righteous, guilt-free people for God. Like the Pharisees of old, they love to have the adoration of men instead of God. Many become very popular with men but very unpopular with God. That person who is esteemed or well-liked by men is detestable in the sight of God (Is. 2:22; Matt. 5:20; Luke 6:26). Jesus said the world would love its own. What did He mean? The world loves ministers who produce hearers of the word and not doers (Jer. 5:30-31; Ezek. 33:30-32). People love to be told you cannot earn salvation by good works because it is a gift, but they hate to hear that you cannot repent unless you are careful to engage in good works and learn to do good for God (Titus 3:8, 14). True believers are to be provoked, stimulated and to admonish one another to more love and good works (Heb. 10:24). These are not good works to be published in a church bulletin, but works to be done on a personal, daily basis in secret, not to be broadcast to others (Matt. 6:1). This is how you build a one-to-one relationship with Jesus Christ. Someone might ask, “How can I help needy people? I don’t know of any.” Ask Jesus Christ to give you the eyes of a servant and His attitude of being a servant to others, and then be ready to serve! Ask Him to send you the needy, the hungry and the lonely so you can begin to put your discipleship into practice and build some godly good fruit on your tree (Col. 1:10). Good works done daily for God is how you bear much fruit and prove to be a disciple of Jesus Christ (John 15:8). Be like those true believers found in the book of Romans who, by perseverance in doing good, seek for glory, honor and eternal life (Rom. 2:7). If you do not engage in a life of doing good, your life will never be blessed by God (Acts 3:26). It is God who renders blessings to men according to their deeds or works of righteousness (Rom. 2:6; Matt. 16:27). Remember always, the one who does good is of God (3 John 11, 1 John 3:10). True believers are justified doers of the word (James 1:22; James 2:21-24; Rom. 2:13). They obey Jesus Christ and are sprinkled by His blood (1 Peter 1:2). Their sins are forgiven, while those who profess Jesus Christ and remain worthless for doing good deny Jesus Christ because they remain unrepentant (Titus 1:16). True believers are not to live for self any longer but for Jesus Christ only (2 Cor. 5:15; 1 Cor. 10:24). We live for Jesus Christ by dying to sin and living to righteousness (Gal. 5:24). This should be obvious when we read Scriptures like, “But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good” (2 Thess. 3:13). Those who do not do good for God are going the wrong way. It should be even more obvious that if the Lord is furious when one of His followers becomes lukewarm in regard to doing good, that we should not be lukewarm in our commitment to doing good for God (Rev. 3:15)! God says He will vomit out those who are lukewarm (Rev. 3:16). Scriptures are often quoted out of context. We hear, “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God; not a result of works, that no one should boast” (Eph. 2:8-9). But isn’t it time we read the next verse, which makes the message balanced? We are created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them (Eph. 2:10)! That means we are to live a life of doing good works for God’s glory (Matt. 5:16). What’s wrong with doing that? Another set of Scriptures that is quoted out of context is Titus 3:5-7. “He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” These few Scriptures do not do away with a life of good works. The very next verse admonishes us to be careful to engage in good works (Titus 3:8). Jesus Christ is purifying for Himself a people for His own possession who are zealous and on fire or hot for good works, and have purified themselves through the power of God’s Holy Spirit by doing so (Titus 2:7). There are millions out there who profess Jesus Christ with their mouths but their lives deny Him daily (Titus 1:16)! Don’t feel bad, there’s absolutely no need to feel guilty when you can start to do good right now and repent. Just set your mind to please God each day in all you think, do and say. Then study God’s word each day to show God you mean it. Obey the Scriptures that say we should go out and do good. If you have not heard this message before, it is because you were listening to man and not to God. When you repent by doing good works and by studying God’s word daily, if there’s something you do not understand, ask God. He is not deaf to someone who wants to serve Him by doing His Will of good works on earth as it is being done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). Remember, study your Bible and stop reading it. You can read the Bible for a lifetime and never know it unless you study it. The very next step is putting it into practice by doing good daily as Jesus Christ gave us example to do. Can you begin to realize that if you didn’t live to please God each day by imitating the Way Jesus Christ gave us example to live, then Jesus Christ lived His life in vain as far as your spiritual life is concerned (1 Cor. 11:1; 1 John 2:6)? Don’t you think you’re going to have to force yourself to do good and to do what is right for God in thought, word and deed until it comes from your heart? The Apostle Paul had to do this very same thing (1 Cor. 9:27). We have been bought with a price. Therefore, we are to glorify God in our bodies by engaging in lives of doing good for God. Jesus’ only purpose in life was to do good each day for the glory of His Father. This must be every true believer’s attitude in life until the return of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ says He will allow those who overcome and endure to the end by doing His works—which He gave you example to do—to sit with Him (Rev. 3:21). Jesus emphatically says that many of His true followers will do greater works then He did (John 14:12). Do you believe Him? The prophets of old were sent by God every time the false ministers made crooked the straight Ways of the Lord. The ministers became full of deceit and fraud, and as a result, became sons of the devil, like the Pharisees of the New Testament (Acts 13:10). They were constantly making crooked the straight Ways of the Lord by perverting God’s simple, eternal message. That message was, “Overcome evil by doing good so you will abide forever” (Psalm 37:27; Rom. 12:21). One of the reasons God sent John the Baptist as a prophet was to teach God’s Ways of repentance, and straighten out the message, which the Pharisees had perverted (Mark 1:3). People hate to be told they have to repent by doing good. In the past, they hated that message so much that they killed many of the prophets God sent, and they will kill more in the future. The message was repeated over and over by the prophets of old (Is. 1:16-20). Their message was called the ancient paths where the good way is (Jer. 6:16). Did not our fathers have plenty to eat and drink when they practiced righteousness and honesty one to another? That’s when everything went well for them. They took care of those who were needy and afflicted and constantly did good in His sight. Isn’t this what it means to know the Lord (Jer. 22:15-16)? “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46-47). Hosea had a novel way of saying the same message of righteousness. Study Hosea 10:12-13 and Zephaniah 2:3 which say the same message of righteousness. Under the Law of Moses, the Israelites were required not only to practice righteousness by continually doing good for God, but they were also required to keep the entire Law, including holy days, animal sacrifices and many other ordinances (Gal. 5:1-4; Col. 2:16-17). We, under the New Testament, are freed from the works of the Law of Moses by engaging only in works of righteousness for God (Rom. 5:20-21). Pure religion is to help others in need and by doing so, to keep ourselves unstained by the world. We can keep ourselves from worldliness, which is sin, by serving others in need and by continually doing good for the glory of God. This is the truth! You know it is the truth, therefore you are required to live it (Ezek. 3:17-21; 33:7-8, 13-16, 31-33) PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

  • How to Be a Good Person | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Be a Good Person Our Father in heaven wants us to be good sons and daughters for Him. He wants us to respect Him. He wants us to love Him wholeheartedly (Deut. 6:5). He wants us to stop swearing, so we will not bring curses upon ourselves. He wants us to stop dwelling on what is evil, because those evil thoughts will eventually become evil actions. He wants us to practice moderation in all things, because He does not want us to hurt ourselves. He wants us to do good things that help us, instead of bad things that can harm us (Deut. 6:18, 24). He wants us to stay out of trouble, by engaging in good and productive things (Titus 3:14). What better way could there be, to do good things, than to help those who are in need? By helping the blind, the lame, the sick and the elderly, we learn to care for others in need (Luke 14:13-14; 10:37). We learn to be sensitive to the needs of others. We learn compassion, forgiveness, patience, kindness, goodness, joy, faithfulness, gentleness, and most of all, how to love our neighbor. These are the fruits of the Spirit, which come from serving others in a godly way every day (Gal. 5:22-24). Remember, the greatest in the kingdom will be the servant of the most (Matt. 25:33-40; 23:11; Mark 9:35; 10:43-44)! • God’s Message to Mankind | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search God’s Message to Mankind First of all, God created mankind on this earth to seek Him, find Him and obey Him. He did this so mankind could live a peaceful long life—full of abundance and every good thing. All the Lord God wants man to do is to do what is right (do well) to please Him, so man would feel good about himself (Gen. 4:7). God has given us examples in His word of those who obeyed Him and were blessed and those who disobeyed Him and were cursed. God used certain men called prophets to write what He told them to write, as well as speak what He commanded them to speak. It was the same message over and over again to mankind—practice righteousness and practice justice toward your fellow man, and thus do your neighbor no harm but only good. Is this too much for God to ask of us, considering eternal life is also connected to this beautiful Way of righteousness (Matt. 21:32; 2 Peter 2:21; Prov. 12:28)? This information was to be conveyed to mankind so God could determine who would obey Him. God wanted to know, and thus distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, the sheep and the goats, the wheat and the tares (Mal. 3:18; Matt. 25:33, 41, 46). The Lord wanted mankind to learn righteousness by practicing righteousness one to the other daily (Is. 1:16-17; Titus 3:14). Practice being a good person toward others daily by showing kindness, goodness, gentleness, charity, compassion and patience (Gal. 5:22-23). This is how a person imitates God daily, walks with God daily and keeps God’s Ways daily (Eph. 5:1). God’s Ways are all righteous (Psalm 145:17). He wants us to make all our ways righteous too. This is how one does God’s Will daily on earth as it is being done by God in heaven (Matt. 6:10). Jesus came to show us “the Way” we should live daily to please the Father and thus, be a friend of God like Abraham was (James 2:22-23). Abraham perfected his faith by doing good works. Everything Jesus saw the Father do, He did faithfully to be our living example of the right way to live (John 5:19). Everything that Jesus heard the Father say, He conveyed to us without adding to it or deleting from it—Jesus knew all of mankind would be judged by His words in the last day (John 12:48-50). He also knew these were the exact directions—not only to eternal life, but also for how man could get rid of his wicked ways and overcome them so God could bless him (Acts 3:26). God wants us to be good children and obey our Father by continually doing good towards others like Jesus Christ our example (Acts 10:38). Dorcas was also a good example (Acts 9:36). This message of righteousness is one of the world’s greatest mysteries, because this is how God wants you to repent daily (1 Tim. 3:16). You repent daily by keeping Jesus’ words. If you do this, you will receive eternal life and never see death, says Jesus Himself in John 8:51. Then keeping Jesus’ words and putting them into daily practice in our lives is how we do God’s Will on earth as it is being done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). This is required of those who desire to enter the kingdom of God, and as a result of practicing righteousness, “live forever” (Matt. 7:21; 1 John 2:17). This is not known by many or lived by many who say they know the Lord today (Luke 6:46). Jesus was zealous for good deeds towards others. If you do not learn to imitate Him by keeping His words and by being zealous for good deeds towards others too, then you deny Him in your daily life (Titus 1:16). We were created for good works, just as we were created to fulfill Scripture, but we must be careful to fulfill the Scriptures of the righteous by keeping Jesus’ words and putting them into action in our daily walk with Him (Eph. 2:10). This is most definitely the good life and God’s true message to mankind! • Repent to Believe the Gospel | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Repent to Believe the Gospel Who would ever expect to read in God’s word that you must repent in order to believe the gospel? We all know that obeying what the gospel says is repentance (Mark 1:15). Then there must be some Scriptures that would be hard to accept when we read them in God’s word. We would reject them in our spirits. What are some of these hard to accept Scriptures? In 3 John 11, God’s word states that only the one who does good is of God. How about people who don’t do good? Yes, you cannot say you are a true follower of Jesus Christ, unless you are continually doing good each day towards others like Jesus gave us examples to do. This affects a lot of people today who say they are saved, but who are not. Many people today exclaim they are born again—washed by the blood of Jesus. In order for this to be true, they would not only have to know the truth, but practice that truth daily in their lives (John 3:21; 1 John 1:6). That truth is keeping Jesus’ deeds in our lives daily (which is called “the light”) and daily imitating the Way He came to show us how to live. This is how to have the blood of Jesus Christ cover our sins (1 John 1:7). God’s word is emphatic when it says you must practice righteousness to be born of God (1 John 2:29 New American Standard Version). Obedience to Jesus daily is required for the forgiveness of sins—so says God’s word that cannot lie (1 Peter 1:2). How many people today say, “Lord, Lord!,” yet they are not doing what Jesus told them to do (Luke 6:46)? They are not overcoming the evil in their lives by continually doing good for God each day (1 Peter 3:10-11; Psalm 37:27; Matt. 5:16). How many people realize that using our bodies as instruments of righteousness each day is NOW our spiritual service of worship to God (Rom. 12:1-2; Rom. 6:13). Jesus is constantly giving examples in His word to those who are worshiping Him in the wrong way. They profess to know God, but by their daily works or deeds they deny Him. They are not overcoming evil by doing good for God each day. They are still living detestable and disobedient lives before God each day. Why? They are not doing good as Jesus said they should (Titus 1:16). They are still living lawless lives, sinful lives before God because those who teach them are telling them that they need not do anything to receive salvation—it is a free gift. This is only half-truth, just like the half-truths Satan used to tempt Jesus with (Eph. 2:8-9; Matt. 4:1-10). It’s as simple as this. God is calling people out of a life of lawlessness into a life of righteousness. If you are not living that life of righteousness, you are still living a life of lawlessness (1 John 3:4). Sin is lawlessness, so those who live lawless lives have not yet repented. Noah and all the true prophets of God, including Jesus and His disciples, preached that a life of righteousness is required daily by God for repentance. They knew that eternal life was a free gift of God but you must be found worthy to be given that gift (Luke 20:35 NASV;2 Thess. 1:5). What makes you worthy for the resurrection of eternal life is a life of good works or good deeds. Jesus said so Himself in John 5:28-29. We were created for good works (Eph. 2:10). So then, those who preach the incomplete truth of Ephesians 2:8-9 without explaining verse 10 in detail are preaching lawlessness. And that’s exactly what the ministers were doing whom Jesus gave as an example in Matthew 7:22-23. They were preaching lawlessness because they were not preaching that we must do righteousness each day to please the Lord, and we are to overcome evil by continually doing good like Dorcas (Acts 9:36). Instead, their disciples are described in Titus 1:16. In Matthew 7:13 it says that this is the broad way that leads to destruction, which many are following today because they are not being told how to repent. Repentance is a daily life of righteousness and good works done for God’s glory—called the Way of righteousness (Matt. 21:32; 2 Peter 2:21). How can you imitate God unless you keep Jesus’ words or sayings (John 8:51; Eph. 5:1)? How can you keep Christ’s words or sayings unless you do the works or deeds of Jesus in your daily life and overcome the evil in your life (John 14:12; Rev. 2:26; 3:21)? Jesus said, “Repent and believe the gospel or you will perish” (Mark 1:15; Luke 13:3, 5; Heb. 10:24)! • Happiness Is... | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Happiness Is... Just as there is only one truth, there also is only one happiness. True happiness comes from a warm relationship with God. Abraham, Noah, Daniel and a host of other people have had this true happiness in the past. What is true happiness? Happiness is: * Finding the true purpose for your existence (Eph. 2:10). * Knowing God's Will and then performing it daily in your life (Matt. 6:10; 7:21; Luke 8:21; 1 John 2:17; 1 Peter 2:15; 4:2, 6; Col. 1:10). * Having the attitude of a servant toward others at all times as Jesus Christ, our Savior and example, did (Rom. 15:2-3; 1 Cor. 10:24; Matt. 20:26-28; 23:11). * Having the knowledge of the truth - God's word - and being set free from all religious deception, with its satanic tentacles that grip the earth (John 8:31-32; Rev. 12:9). * Being set free from all pagan religious traditions of men that make the worship of Jesus Christ in vain (Mark 7:7). * Receiving answered prayer because you are constantly doing God's Will and are pleasing in His sight (1 John 3:22; John 9:31). * Hating what is evil and loving what is good (Psalm 45:7; 97:10). * Hating worldliness and the things that war against the Spirit, such as dirty movies and magazines, swearing, lying, stealing, lusting, drunkenness, etc., for these things are not pleasing to God (Rom. 8:13; Gal. 5:18-20). * Always being patient toward others (1 Thess. 5:14; 2 Tim. 2:24; James 5:8; 1 Cor. 13:4). * Always forgiving others and not holding any bitterness toward them (Matt. 6:14-15; Eph. 4:31). * Always living to please God within your marriage and having happy and obedient children (1 Cor. 7:2-5; Prov. 22:6). * Always having peace and not letting those who have no peace take yours (Rom. 14:19; Psalm 34:14). * Always having faith in Christ Jesus that He will supply all your needs after you have done God's Will, and knowing that all will go right for the righteous (Is. 3:10, Matt. 6:25-33). * Going to God and His word for the truth, instead of to books written by men, which are a great source of religious confusion (Eccl. 12:12). * Keeping life simple by keeping it pure (1 Thess. 4:11; Phil. 4:8; Matt. 5:8). * Having the trusting attitude of a child toward the Lord at all times (Matt. 18:3, Psalm 131:1-2). * Learning who Jesus Christ really is by studying God's word, instead of believing what man says He is (2 Tim. 2:15). * Studying God's word for the answers to all of life's problems and questions (2 Tim. 3:16-17). * Wearing out your Bible for God by reading it every day and highlighting the Scriptures (Acts 17:11). In conclusion, true happiness is knowing God's Ways and putting them into action in your daily life. This is the only way to be a friend of God. Remember always, Jesus Christ is God and we must keep only His words in order to be truly happy and never see death (John 8:51). • The Biblical Definition of Idolatry | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search The Biblical Definition of Idolatry Surprising as it may be, Webster’s Dictionary agrees with God’s word when it says any object (symbol or representation) that is used for worship (religious reminder) is an idol. It is any object of extreme devotion. This would include pictures, crosses, statues or any form of religious symbolism such as the use of birds, fishes, animals or insects as religious reminders (Deut. 4:15-19). Noah Websters 1828 Dictionary agrees with the Scripture and expounds even more than the traditional dictionary to state that an idol is: an image, form or representation, usually of a man or other animal, consecrated as an object of worship; a pagan deity. Idols are usually statues or images, carved out of wood or stone, or formed of metals, particularly silver or gold. It also says; Idolatry is of two kinds; the worship of images, statues, pictures, etc. made by hands; and the worship of the heavenly bodies, the sun, moon and stars, or of demons, angels, men and animals. But these are not the only definitions of idolatry. Noah Websters Dictionary also states that idolatry is any thing on which we set our affections; that we indulge an excessive attachment to. Think about what things in your life might fall under that category. The Bible says anything that keeps you from doing what God says you should do is an idol or anything you put ahead of God (Col. 3:5). The whole armor of God is Bible study, prayer and continually living the life of doing good for God’s glory (Eph. 6:13). God wants you to live for Him each day by studying His word, praying to him and living your life to please Him (2 Tim. 2:15; Prov. 15:8; Eph. 5:10). Anything that stops you from doing so is an idol. Anything that comes between you and what God wants you to do daily is idolatry. Remember, stubbornness is the same sin as witchcraft in God’s eyes (1 Sam. 15:23). Finally, idolatry is anything that exalts itself. It is anything that makes itself more important than what God has said in His word you should do (Ex. 20:3). In short, you should not make excuses, or provisions, for failing to do what God has instructed you to do daily (Phil. 2:3; Jer. 7:23-24). If God said it, that should settle it. What man says in opposition to God’s word should not be followed, for it too is idolatry (Acts 5:29). • How to Do God’s Will With Your Body | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Do God’s Will With Your Body As a disciple of Jesus Christ, you are to regard your body as the temple, or place where God lives (John 14:23; 1 Cor. 3:16; 6:19-20). One way you can serve God with your body is to take good care of it. Put good things into your body, which will keep the building strong. Exercise to continually maintain the temple. Keep your breath smelling sweet and dress God’s temple in clothes of quality and good taste. Keep your hair looking nice and trimmed (1 Cor. 11:14). You are in training to be a king and a priest, so it is necessary that you live a quality life, to the degree that you can, and as God has blessed you (Rev. 1:6; 5:10). Never forget, you are God’s showpiece on this earth. Let your good taste, your good actions and your good words be a 10,000-watt light on this earth (Matt. 5:16; Luke 12:35; Phil. 2:15). Set your goal high. This way, if you do not reach it, you will have reached a higher plateau than if you had set your goal low, or worse yet, set none at all. Live just as God lives. God is continually doing acts of kindness and charity to those in need (Acts 9:36). God is kind, loving, generous and giving (Gal. 5:22). He loves His enemies. He does good to those who hate Him. God cares about the widows, orphans, fatherless, sick, lame, blind, old and feeble (James 1:27; Luke 14:13; Psalm 138:6; Prov. 19:17). In order to please God, we must be careful to engage in good deeds or works (Titus 3:8). This is something we must learn to do and not get weary in doing (Titus 3:14; 2 Thess. 3:13). God is glorified by good works and we are to glorify Him in everything we do, whether at home or for our employer (Col. 1:10; 3:17). We are to commit all our ways to God, not just some. Ask yourself these questions: What am I doing daily with my eyes, ears, mind, mouth or body which does not please God and is not glorifying His name? What am I continuing to do that could be a stumbling stone to someone watching me? God says He will pay you back for all the good you do in the name of Christ for His glory (Eph. 6:8). His blessings are distributed daily. Is your life a blessed one? What must you do to order your ways aright so God can begin to bless you (Psalm 50:22-23)? Are you a continual doer of God’s words or a continual forgetful hearer (James 1:22)? Are you keeping Christ’s words, which is doing God’s Will (John 12:47-48; 1 John 2:17)? If not, are you ever going to start? If you start, are you going to endure until Christ’s new nature is formed in you (Gal. 4:19; 6:15; 2 Cor. 13:9, 11)? Remember, quitters never win but winners never quit. When you put your hand to the plow, do not look back at a life of swearing, getting drunk, living an immoral life and continuing to crave those things that are not good. Instead, crave those things that are good and show God your allegiance is to Him and not Satan.
