- How to Walk in God's Ways | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Walk in God's Ways Jesus walked in the Ways of the Father. He was our perfect example (John 5:19-20). He came to show us this beautiful Way of life-a way of love, joy, peace, abundance, answered prayers and every good thing (John 10:10; 14:14). He said it was easy and pleasant (1 John 5:3; Matt. 11:30). We don't need to be intelligent to live it, just obedient like a child (Rom. 16:26; Mark 10:15). It does not require previous education because God will be our teacher (John 6:45; 1 Cor. 3:19; Is. 48:17-18). God lives a certain Way and He never deviates from that Way (Psalm 145:17). That Way is called His Will (1 John 2:17; Matt. 7:21). It is also called His walk (2 John 6). Once we understand how God walks or lives and what His Will is, then we too can walk with God or live as He lives by keeping His Ways instead of our old ways of the flesh (Rom. 12:2). After all, our old ways are sinful ways and must be put to death in our bodies (Rom. 8:13; Matt. 16:25). When we study the Scriptures, we can see that the Will of the Father is to do acts of righteousness, or good deeds (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13; Heb. 13:16). The Will of the Father is to do good works by keeping the sayings Jesus Christ received from the Father (John 12:47-48). We are to overcome our evil natures by being zealous in doing good deeds for God in Jesus' name and thus, bring all our thoughts and actions into the captivity of Christ (Rom. 12:21; 1 Peter 3:13; Col. 3:17; 2 Cor. 10:5). This allows Christ to put our old natures to death and crush Satan's nature within us (Rom. 16:20). Now is the time to get involved with the godly process (1 Tim. 6:3-4). Don't let Satan snatch your opportunity away (Eph. 4:2-7). Tell God you want to serve Him today by serving your fellow man in every way (Rom. 15:3; 2:7; 1 Cor. 10:24; 11:1; Eph. 5:1; Matt. 25:34-40). Remember always, those who did the good deeds will be resurrected to eternal life (John 5:29). That is what Jesus Christ said and He would not tell you a religious lie. - What is the Bible? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search What is the Bible? To best understand what the Bible is, let’s first consider what the Bible is not. The Bible is not an ancient collection of myths or stories or something to put on your coffee table with pressed flowers or a four-leaf clover in it. The Bible is not a book to be ignored, because we will all be judged by the words that are in it (John 12:47-50). The Bible is, however, a spiritual book of writings by men who were moved by the Spirit of God (2 Peter 1:20-21). The Bible is the living word of God. We are to live by every word of the Bible (Matt. 4:4). It is a book telling us how to obtain eternal life. It contains the answers to all the mysteries of life. The Bible contains the directions on how to enter the kingdom of God, be converted on the inside, and thus, have the peace that surpasses all human comprehension (Matt. 5:20; 7:21; Phil. 4:7). The Bible tells of all the blessings we will receive for obeying it and all the curses we will receive for ignoring it. The Bible tells us who we are and how to overcome our evil natures. The Bible tells us how we can please God, and what God will do for us when we please Him. If we ignore God’s word by not studying it daily, we are ignoring God (Acts 17:11). God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, in the weakness of the flesh to show us how easy it is to please the Father and to be rewarded with the free gift of eternal life (Phil. 2:7). Jesus was the living word of God, which means He lived by the words of God. We are to live by every word of God so we can be living words of God also. The Bible tells us not to be foolish, but to understand what God wants us to do, and then do it (Eph. 5:17)! Jesus said His Way is very easy and pleasant, and some of us will do greater works than He did (Matt. 11:30; John 14:12). The Bible says we are foolish if we think works are not necessary for repentance (James 2:20; Acts 26:20). We must study God’s word to show that we love God (2 Tim. 2:15, King James Version). We need to engage in acts of righteousness for repentance (Titus 2:7; 3:8). Remember, if the righteous are saved with difficulty, what will happen to the person who continues to live to the flesh and not to the Spirit (God) (1 Peter 4:18; Rom. 8:13)? Only those who seek God by pleasing Him will find Him. Start today, and you will be on your way. Be a godly example to others for God; be ready at all times to explain the truth to them in love by knowing the Scriptures well (1 Peter 3:15). This is what the Bible truly is for; to learn God’s Will, apply it in our daily lives, and then share it with others. - Must Christians Suffer? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Must Christians Suffer? Once you start to live like Christ, a strange thing will happen (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1; 1 Peter 4:12). You might begin to suffer (Acts 14:22). When this happens, it is God’s stamp of approval, showing that He is working with you (Rom. 8:17-18; Heb. 12:8). Jesus Christ says anyone who will live as God lives will suffer persecution (2 Tim. 3:12; John 15:20). "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matt. 5:10). People may falsely say bad things about you, or persecute you because you are living your life for Christ by being zealous for good deeds (Matt. 5:11; Titus 2:14). If you are glorifying God with your good works and allowing God to crush your old nature, He must surely test you (Matt. 5:16; Rom. 16:20; 12:21). "Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great" (Matt. 5:12). You know full well, when you first start living a life that pleases God, the good deeds you force yourself to do will not come from your heart (Rom. 7:21; Luke 16:16). You must go through the hypocritical stage of the Pharisees (Matt. 5:20). Eventually, you will do the Will of God from your heart if you continue doing good daily and do not turn back (Eph. 6:6). This is done by disciplining yourself for the purpose of godliness (1 Tim. 4:7). You must force yourself to be a slave of righteousness for Jesus Christ by using the members of your body as slaves of righteousness (1 Cor. 9:27; Rom. 6:13, 18-19). You force your way into the kingdom of God that is within you by renewing your mind and your heart with God’s Spirit (Luke 16:16; 17:21). You enter the kingdom of God when you have totally rested from all your works of the flesh (Heb. 4:10). This is the same as entering God’s spiritual rest. You rest from the works of the flesh when you stop doing things your way and start doing them God’s Way, as an obedient servant. You learn obedience to God when you suffer (Heb. 5:8). That is how you are made perfect like Jesus Christ (Heb. 5:9; Matt. 5:48; Heb. 12:23). All humans suffer during their lifetime (1 Peter 3:17; 5:9-10). Disciples of Jesus Christ count it a joy because their suffering has a godly purpose when they live only to imitate God by keeping His Ways (1 Peter 4:1-2, 12-13, 16-19; Eph. 5:1; Phil. 3:8-11). - How to Commit Your Ways to the Lord | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Commit Your Ways to the Lord One should continually remind himself that Jesus Christ said His Ways are easy and very pleasant (Matt. 11:30). Jesus Christ says one must have the mind of a child to understand His true message (Matt. 11:25). A child is teachable, correctable, willing to change, and willing to admit he’s been wrong about many things (Mark 10:15). One must have this attitude to enter the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 18:3-4; 19:14). With this attitude of a child, then, let the mind be in you that is in Jesus Christ (Phil. 2:5; Eph. 5:10). Jesus always did things to please the Father (John 8:29). The words that came from His mouth were the Father’s. We are to do the same (1 Peter 4:11; Col. 3:8, 10; Eph. 4:29). Whatever is good, peaceable, respectable, admirable and uplifting, we are to think on these things (Phil. 4:8-9). We are not to have a tongue that says good things one minute and bad things the next. Instead, we are to use it for good all the time (James 3:9-10). By practicing these Scriptures in our daily walk with God, we will be committing our minds and tongues to Christ. Remember, we must be diligent and zealous, and we must persevere in order to make headway. Now the only thing left is to get the body to zealously do good for God (1 Peter 3:13). Remember, doing good is how God is glorified (Matt. 5:16). It is how He is well pleased (Heb. 13:16). Doing good for God’s glory is His Will and the Way He wishes to be spiritually worshiped (Heb. 13:21; Rom. 12:1-2). Ask yourself, "Have I ever been weary in doing good for God?" (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13). If you have, you will know that you are in the process of committing your ways to the Lord (1 Peter 3:11; 1 Tim. 4:7). If not, then it is time to begin, because it is a great way to live. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

- How to Be Good | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Be Good The words of a familiar song say, “He knows when you’ve been sleeping, he knows when you’re awake, he knows when you’ve been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake.” Why not be good for God’s sake? Yes, we are constantly telling our children to be good, but why? Good things happen to good people. The word of God says: “If the righteous are rewarded in the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!” (Prov. 11:31). Psalm 125:4 says: “Do good, oh Lord, to those who are good. Yes, God wants children to be good. He tells little children not to let anyone deceive them, and that the one who practices righteousness is righteous, even as God is righteous (1 John 3:7). He also tells the little children not to love with the words of their mouths only, but with good deeds. By this, they will know they are of the truth and be sure in their hearts that they are God’s friends (1 John 3:18-19). God wants little children to live as Jesus Christ gave them example to live, so that when He returns, they will have confidence and not shrink away in shame. God’s word tells you how to abide in Him. It says: “If you know that Jesus Christ is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness [daily] is born of Him” (1 John 2:28-29). You must, however, do all that you do in word or deed in the name of Jesus Christ, as happy slaves of Jesus Christ (Col. 3:17). Righteousness is doing God’s Will from the heart (Eph. 6:6). You know that you love the children of God (others) when you love God and practice or do His commandments; and they are not hard to keep (1 John 5:2-3). You keep them daily by continually doing things that are pleasing in God’s sight (1 John 3:22). If you are to walk with God, then you must walk in His commandments, just as you have heard from the beginning that you should walk in them (2 John 6). You walk in His commandments by practicing righteousness—by being careful to engage in good deeds (Titus 3:8). This is something you’re going to have to learn to do (Titus 3:14). But realize this: whatever good you do, this you will receive back from the Lord (Eph. 6:8). When all you sow is righteousness, all you’ll reap is blessings, for God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name (Gal. 6:7; Heb. 6:10). - Public Enemy #1 | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Public Enemy #1 God’s word says that it is our thoughts, our ways or deeds, our thinking and our actions that are not good. Our human nature represents our will, which is also referred to as Satan’s will. Our ways, our deeds, and our thinking is Satan’s thinking. It is his consciousness or his will that is in us (2 Tim. 2:26; John 2:25; Rom. 16:20; John 8:44; James 3:15). I am making a point: we are to no longer think the way we used to think, talk the way we used to talk or walk the way we used to walk. We are to turn around and live how God says we are to live, think the way God tells us to think, talk the way God wants us to talk and walk the way God wants us to walk. We are to no longer live by our old ways that caused us every problem we ever had, and immediately begin to live by God’s Ways only! Stop talking! Stop thinking! Start acting! Start walking! Stop making excuses and just do it! Many talk about their problems but are unable to do anything about them. Stop talking about your problems and just do something about them in secret. You are giving in to your old ways—making excuses. Fight the good fight of faith. Stop thinking why you can’t; start doing what needs to be done. Stop talking about your problems; start walking the right way. Just do it! God has His new nature waiting for you when you get rid of your old nature with the power of His Holy Spirit. We will never know the new until we get rid of the old. Stop giving in to your old ways. Start resisting your old nature by not giving it space in which to exist by continually doing good. Stop thinking to the flesh; just start thinking to the Spirit: “How can I please God?” Satan is at the door of your heart, and he is trying to get you to destroy yourself but you must master him. You must take hold of your nature and tell it what to do and not give in to Satan’s wiles and let God tell you what to do (Gen. 4:7). You have God’s Spirit—use it! You have the power of prayer—use it! You have the tool of fasting—do it! God’s Spirit is a spirit of power, a spirit of love, a spirit that is stronger than any spirit of the devil. Jesus was tempted in all things, but with the power of God’s Spirit, He never gave in to sin. Many who have God’s Spirit of power today give in to everything, like they never even received God’s Spirit of power. Stop making excuses. It’s killing some of you. You’re giving in to Satan. God never called you to continue to live an undisciplined life. Use that Spirit of victory! Control your body, control your thinking, control your mouth and control your appetite. Eat to live and don’t live to eat any longer. God gives you His Spirit of a sound mind. Use it or you’ll lose it! God is not only watching you from a distance, He is also testing you to see whether you are building godly character in your life or not. You will not enter the kingdom of God within unless you control your bodily actions from without. You must maintain the attitude of a little child and get rid of your arrogant, vanity-filled nature that’s prideful, egotistical and sensual, or you will never change! For many years I have counseled many people about their problems. The number one thing that was wrong was their thinking and their words. Stop thinking bad thoughts, stop condemning yourself to use that as an excuse for not doing something about your problems. You know the right way. Make up your mind to do it now! Thousands of people are losing weight, while thousands are making deadly excuses. Thousands are changing and getting rid of their old self with their old ways, while thousands are making excuses. Don’t talk—just walk the right way! Being a disciple of Jesus Christ is a daily discipline. The very word “disciple” comes from the word “discipline.” Strive or discipline yourself to enter by the narrow door or you won’t be able. I can’t make you change and neither can God. Yet, God is standing by to help you, should you put forth the slightest effort. Get your mind off of self and on to God and never turn back. The root of all of our problems is wanting our own way. God says, in Psalms 50:22-23, that we are to order all of our ways right (make them right) before God; this is the sacrifice of thanksgiving which honors the Lord. If you forget this you are forgetting God and He will tear you in pieces and there will be none to deliver you. What right do you have to talk about God’s Ways to others, when you hate discipline? God says that the undisciplined person is wicked (Psalm 50:16-17). There are some of God’s servants who are drinking too much. God says the drunkard will not inherit the kingdom of God, and He is coming when you least expect Him (Matt. 24:49-50; Luke 21:34; 1 Cor. 6:10). We need to know who the Bible says the wicked are. Jesus made it clear to the Pharisees. They understood what He was saying to them, and yet, they didn’t apply it; they were still in their sins (John 9:40-41). After a person hears the truth, they no longer have an excuse for their sins (John 15:22). We need to realize there are no excuses and remember that. Therefore, the one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin (James 4:17). In these last days, God is going to distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between the one who serves God (does what God says) and the one who does not serve Him (Mal. 3:18). We know well that the goats described in the Bible will be thrown into the eternal fire, not only because they didn’t do good to those in need, but because they would not study their Bibles daily to be approved by God and apply God’s word in their lives (Matt. 25:41-46; 2 Tim. 2:15 King James Version). God’s word clearly states that serving God is done by serving others (Matt. 25:40, 45; James 2:15-26; 1 John 3:18-19). It is also receiving a love for God’s truth (His word) so as to be saved (2 Thess. 2:10-12). Sin shall not have dominion over you anymore, should you stop giving in to your old nature with its old ways and excuses (Rom. 6:14). Unless you allow the Lord to reign in your life and unless you obey Him, you will be slain by Him when He returns (Luke 19:27). God’s truth is like a hammer shattering a rock—smashing a rock—delivered by His ministers who are like flames of fire (Jer. 23:29; Heb. 1:7; Psalm 104:4). They have to be, because of the stubbornness of all of our hearts. Don’t allow yourself to be lulled to sleep by another Bible study, for unless a person applies God’s word and obeys God’s word, they will surely perish (Ezek. 33:31-33; Luke 13:3, 5; Matt. 3:10; 7:19). Jesus said that His Ways are very easy and very pleasant, and what He commanded us to do was not burdensome (Matt. 11:30; 1 John 5:3). It is the way to peace, happiness, blessings and eternal life, but you must do what you are supposed to do to receive it! God only wants the best for you and He has blessings ready and waiting for you. You must want the best for yourself to make it happen. Many are being blessed today and finding that God’s Ways work; but you must work by putting your hand to the plow by doing what is right. Let’s get rid of public enemy #1 and then we will be #1 in God’s eyes and be a good example for others. - Walk in the Light | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Walk in the Light What does the expression "walk in the light" as found in 1 John 1:7 mean? Light and darkness have always been used to represent good and bad, right and wrong, righteousness and lawlessness. Walking in the light is doing good, whereas walking in the dark is doing evil. Avoiding doing what is bad is not being good. Refraining yourself from doing evil is good only when it is connected with a life of doing good for God. You see, to overcome character weakness, you must be engaged in building character strengths, because you overcome evil by doing good (Rom. 12:21). Now, God knows human nature is lazy, indifferent, contentious, slothful and evil. It wants to do what is good but is unable. This is because the pull for evil inside is greater than the pull for good. So a plan had to be devised in which all could have an opportunity for Salvation - the lonely, the rich, the noble, the lame and the blind - everyone! The god of the carnal heart, Satan, had to be crushed and removed from the heart, and only God could do that (Rom. 16:20). The desire to do good had to be strengthened, and only God could do that. Godly character had to be built, and only God could do that (1 Cor. 3:7). Human nature had to be perfected, and only God could do that (1 Peter 5:10). But what could man do for his part? Repent! Repent means be willing to change your ways. Change your ways to God’s Ways. How? By disciplining yourself to perform acts that please God daily. Is it hard? Jesus Christ said His Way is easy and pleasant and a child would not have any trouble performing it daily (Matt. 11:30). When you walk in the light as Jesus Christ did by only living to please the Father, you are obeying Jesus Christ and will be sprinkled with His blood (1 Peter 1:2). The blood of Jesus Christ will then cleanse you from all your sins (1 John 1:7). Jesus Christ bore our sins in His body so we might die to our sinful natures by living a righteous life (1 Peter 2:24). We prove that we are God’s children by practicing righteousness daily for God (1 John 3:7, 10). The one who does good daily for God is of God (3 John 11). This good is done daily by sharing food and clothes with widows and orphans (Heb. 13:16; Luke 3:11; James 1:27). This good is done by acts and words of kindness and charity - to the blind, the lame, the old, the young, your wife, your children, your folks - all done in the name of our precious Lord and Master, and soon to return King, Jesus Christ (Acts 9:36; Col. 3:17). - Are We Truly Civilized? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Are We Truly Civilized? The world is full of great learning institutions. Colleges and institutions of higher learning are big business. Tuition is constantly on the rise and, in many cases, the cost is astronomical. Yet, even with all this so-called "higher learning," we can’t get along, like decent human beings. The divorce rate is higher than ever before. Crime is at an all-time high. Prisons are overflowing, with a pressing need for more to be built. As a result, hardened criminals are being released from the prisons back on to our streets. Insanity is on the rise. Moral standards have never been lower. Behavior that was considered immoral 40, or even 20 years ago, is now socially acceptable. Our politicians and leaders lie to us, without a second thought. How can we have all these serious problems if our institutions of higher learning are so great? They have failed us and for good reason. Godlessness is taught in our colleges. Eastern religious customs, like yoga, meditation and mindfulness, are taught in our nursery schools, preschools, grade schools, high schools and colleges, among other things that do not agree with the word of God. What does God in heaven say about higher learning or the so-called “wisdom” of this world? The wisdom and the knowledge of this world is foolishness before God (1 Cor. 3:19). God’s word says that the knowledge of this world is demonic (James 3:15). No wonder Jesus had no formal education (John 7:15)! All He needed was God’s word. Jeremiah understood that man was never created by God to direct his own steps or think his own thoughts, which are not good (Jer. 10:23; 16:12; Is. 45:19; 48:17; 65:2; Prov. 3:5-6; 14:12; 16:25; 20:24; Psalm 25:12-13; Deut. 12:8). We are missing the most important information we need for living a successful life, the greatest knowledge of all – from the greatest teacher of all time, Jesus Christ. God created us all to keep His Ways and do His Will on this earth daily, as it is being done daily by God in heaven (Gen. 18:19; Deut. 10:12; Matt. 6:10). This is how we are to serve only Him (Matt. 4:10). This is what Christ came to show us. If we keep His Ways, then we will abound in prosperity (Prov. 28:9-11). True knowledge makes a people of honor, with wisdom, integrity and dignity. True knowledge comes only from God and makes a people who are civilized. People could not be further away from their Maker than they are today. How many people do you know today who are living for God as Abraham, Joseph, King David, the Apostle Paul or Dorcas (Acts 9:36)? The Lord is coming very soon to forcefully civilize this world so full of sin. He will do this by eliminating the wicked from the earth, who are those who won’t obey His word (1 Peter 4:18). If we are going to be judged by God’s word, as the Bible says we will be, don’t you think we should begin now to obey His word daily, so we will be spared when He comes with His wrath (John 12:47-50; Rev. 3:10; Luke 21:34-36)? Let’s begin to study our Bibles daily, to find out what God’s Ways (Will) are, so that we no longer remain foolish (Eph. 5:17; Rom. 12:1-2; 6:13-19; 8:13; Gal. 5:16; Is. 2:3; Micah 4:2). Let’s stop following the crowd and accepting what man says as truth, when it doesn’t agree with what God says. God tells us to separate ourselves from the world. If we are a friend of the world we are an enemy of God (James 4:4). Find out what God expects of you and what He requires of you, so that you will no longer be one of the “crowd” but someone following after God’s own heart. Isn’t it time to be truly civilized, by keeping God’s Ways and turning from our wicked ways? Then God can bless us, as well as protect us, from what will shortly come to pass (Acts 3:26; Is. 3:10). - All About Works | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search All About Works Satan is the enemy of all righteousness and that includes good works! He confuses the works of the law with the works of faith. Thus, we have many faiths with no works at all. Did Jesus’ faith have works? It is said there are many other good works Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, it is possible even the world itself would not contain the books written (John 21:25; 20:30). Did Jesus say His followers would have works? He said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he shall do also; and greater works than these shall he do because I go to the Father” (John 14:12). Jesus did good works in the Father’s name and for the Father’s glory (John 8:54; 10:25; 10:32; Matt. 5:16). He did the works He saw the Father doing (John 4:34; 5:19). He told all His followers to do these same works on earth as they are done in heaven because doing God’s works is doing God’s Will (Matt. 6:10; 7:21). These works are misunderstood by a deceived, misled world. That’s why Jesus says, “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46). Jesus continually admonished His followers to be doers of good works. Jesus did not live to please self, but others (Rom. 15:3; Matt. 20:28). He was pleasing His neighbor for His neighbor’s good and edification (Rom. 15:2). He was not seeking His own good, but was denying Himself daily by doing good works toward His neighbor (Luke 9:23; Matt. 25:33-46; 1 Cor. 10:24). He took on the form of a bond-servant, showing us how to do good works (Phil. 2:7; Matt. 23:11). He didn’t live for self by looking out for His own interests, but He looked out for the interests of others (Phil. 2:4). Having a faith with works means serving others in need for the glory of God (Matt. 5:16; James 2:14-18). Jesus’ faith is one of good deeds and not only words (1 John 3:18-19). It is a faith that is perfected by works (James 2:22). A faith that has works is a faith that is not foolish (James 2:20). A faith that has works is not dead, but is alive because of righteous good works (James 2:26; Rom. 8:10). A faith that serves others is the kind of faith God rewards because it pleases Him (Luke 14:13-14). Jesus did His works in the Father’s name and we are to do these same deeds in Christ’s name (John 10:25; 1 Cor. 3:13-14; Rev. 2:26; Col. 3:17). We are to overcome evil by doing good and allow God to crush Satan under our feet (Rom. 12:21; 16:20; 2 Tim. 2:26). Doing good works is how you glorify God daily and how you perform God’s Will on this earth (Matt. 5:16). When you do good works for God, He can bless you daily (Eph. 6:8). You build godly character and discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness when you do good works for God (1 Tim. 4:7). Good works is the good fruit on your spiritual tree (John 15:16; Col. 1:10; Matt. 3:10). Now you have the truth from God’s word about good works. - The Missing Key | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The Missing Key What is the truth? We could guess and say that it represents all that is good, and that would be true. But what represents all that is good? God does. Furthermore, if God represents good, then His laws, commandments, precepts and judgments represent only what is good, because they come from God (Psalm 119:142, 30, 151). By practicing mercy and truth, your sins are forgiven. This is how you show reverence and respect to God, thereby departing from evil and living a life of love and charity (Prov. 16:6). Practicing truth, then, is how one departs from evil (Is. 59:15; John 3:21; Psalm 37:27). This “missing key” is what keeps the gospel locked. It keeps the Bible from being understood. Only when you practice the truth, will the gospel be unlocked to you (John 3:21). Jesus told the Pharisees of His day, “Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire compassion [mercy] and not [animal] sacrifice’” (Matt. 9:13). Jesus repeats this statement in Matthew 12:7, “I desire compassion [mercy] and not sacrifice.” Had the Pharisees looked into the Scriptures, they would have found Proverbs 21:3, which says: “To do righteousness and justice is desired by the Lord rather than sacrifice.” In Psalm 106:3, God’s word says: “How blessed are those who keep justice, who practice righteousness at all times.” This is God’s covenant with man, the covenant He made with Abraham that was to last for 1,000 generations. A generation is 30 years, so that’s 30,000 years (Psalm 105:8-9)! Psalm 145:17 states that God is righteous in all His Ways and kind in all His deeds. If you will practice righteousness in all your ways and be kind in all your deeds, you will be imitating God (Eph. 5:1). When you practice the truth and only show love to others, the Lord will forgive all your sins and answer all your prayers, because this is how sins are atoned for (1 Peter 4:8). Practicing righteousness and justice (mercy, compassion and love) towards all others is how you keep God’s Ways! Notice what the Lord said about Abraham in Genesis 18:19: “For I have chosen him [Abraham] in order that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the ways of the Lord [How?] by [practicing or] doing righteousness and [practicing] justice...” The Hebrew word for charity is “tzedaka.” It is derived from the root of “justice.” Practicing charity, mercy, compassion, kindness and acts of righteousness continually towards others is how a person keeps God’s Ways, and thus, lives a repentant life before God. God’s Ways are His commandments, His laws, His statutes, His precepts. They are all fulfilled when we continually practice charity towards all others by keeping God’s Ways—His works, which is the true definition of the word truth! This is how you worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). Now you can clearly understand what Jesus said in Matthew 5:16: “God in heaven is glorified [worshiped] by a life of good works and that is how a true disciple of Jesus Christ lets his light shine before others.” When you look up the word “glorify” in a dictionary, it says, “worship.” God is worshiped by a life of good works. The very word “truth” represents good works. Ephesians 2:10 says that we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Doing good works for God is how we walk in God’s love. Doing good works is walking in the truth (2 John 4). Doing good works, which is practicing the truth, is how we keep the commandments Jesus received from the Father, which will judge us in the last days (John 12:47-50). This is how we love our neighbor (anyone in need) and show love to all (2 John 5-6). This is how we abide in the teachings of Christ (2 John 9). God’s word says that if anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or even give him a greeting (2 John 10). They are all antichrist (2 John 7)! Now you know how to keep Jesus Christ’s commandments and overcome Satan and sin in your life (1 John 2:14). Just keep Jesus’ works by practicing righteousness or doing good to others daily for God (Rev. 2:26; Matt. 6:1). What you are reading in this article is literally the key to entering the kingdom of heaven. These are the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the doctrine that conforms one to a life of godliness (1 Tim. 6:3-4). Practicing the truth (doing good works of love for God) is practicing godliness (Titus 1:1). This is how to love your neighbor, which is the second greatest commandment. This is how to love your neighbor with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, just as Jesus did. It’s how you worship Him and show your love for God continually. It’s how you put on Christ, live like Christ, clothe yourself with Christ and have Christ’s nature formed in you (Gal. 4:19). It’s how you live to the Spirit and put to death the evil deeds of the flesh for God (Psalm 37:27; 1 Peter 3:10-11; Rom. 8:13). It’s how you walk in the Spirit so you will not carry out the evil desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). This is how to be led by the Spirit and be sons of God. It is how you become partakers of God’s divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). It is how we crucify the flesh with its evil passions and desires, and thus, belong to Christ (Gal. 5:24). It is how we live by the Spirit, as well as walk by the Spirit (Gal. 5:25). Practicing the truth by doing good works of love is how the gospel is unlocked and revealed to you by God (John 3:21). It is how to obey Christ and come out from under the wrath of God (John 3:36). It is how to obey Jesus Christ daily and have your sins forgiven or be covered by Christ’s blood (1 Peter 1:2). He who does God’s Will comes into the understanding of what the gospel truly says (John 7:17). God’s Will is righteousness and doing good with God’s love. The truth is Jesus’ words. The truth is God’s word, the Bible. The truth is God’s commandments. The truth is God’s law. Practicing the truth, practicing righteousness towards others daily to please the Lord, is walking in the truth. It is how one worships God. God’s word is clear; the person who will not practice righteousness for God remains of the devil (1 John 3:10). 1 Peter 4:18 says: “If it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved [the one who practices righteous good works of love towards others daily, which is practicing the truth and is God’s Will], what will become of the godless man and the sinner [those who are goats in Matthew 25:33 and 41]?” In the second chapter of James, the righteous are those who practice good works of love continually. Salvation is the inheritance of the righteous. Now you know how to be righteous before God (James 4:17). Will you be found a sheep or goat by the Lord when He returns soon? Now you know the truth so you can be found a sheep at the Lord’s return (Matt. 25:34, 40- 41). - The Parable of the Tree | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The Parable of the Tree Jesus taught His disciples to either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree rotten, and its fruit rotten; for the tree is known by its fruit (Matt. 12:33). To better understand this parable, let's compare it with other sayings of Christ. "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I would that you were cold or hot" (Rev. 3:15). "Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and let the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and let the one who is holy, still keep himself holy" (Rev. 22:11). "Little children, let no one deceive you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous" (1 John 3:7). "You shall be holy, for I am holy." (1 Peter 1:16). "Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Matt. 5:48). Today we would use the expression, "Get off the fence." Either start to live like Jesus Christ or continue to stay as you are! But why? What is God going to distinguish by this? He will distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between the one who serves God and the one who will not serve Him (Mal. 3:18). How can you tell? Anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God (1 John 3:10; 3 John 11). Then, those who practice righteousness must be the good trees with the good fruit, and the rotten trees are those who choose to remain hearers of the word (James 1:22). Those who continually practice righteousness are truly born of God (1 John 2:29). They are the wheat, the sheep, the good trees and the righteous because they practice righteousness and are rich in good works done for God's glory (1 John 3:7). The rotten trees, the goats, the tares, the chaff and the wicked are those who claim they are followers of Jesus Christ, but don't and won't live their lives to please the Lord (Titus 1:16). They are the religious people who will put to death the righteous and think they are doing God a service (John 16:2). They will have the attitude Cain had toward Abel. "Am I my brother's keeper?" Cain asked (Gen. 4:9). Yes, you are your brother's keeper if you are like Abel, whose deeds were righteous (Matt. 25:33-46; 1 John 3:12). - What is God's Plan? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search What is God's Plan? The plan of God is too marvelous for words. He created man. He is making righteous men perfect (Heb. 12:23). God, since Adam, has been choosing only a few people from each generation to become world leaders and help Him rule the nations of this earth with a rod of iron when He returns (1 Cor. 1:26, 28; John 15:16; Rev. 2:26-27; 17:15; 11:15; 5:10). In the future, God will no longer hide the true message of the gospel in parable (riddle), for He will no longer speak in a figurative language. He will speak in plain language when the mystery of God is finished, just as Jesus Christ preached to his servants, the prophets (John 16:25; Rev. 10:7). In Jesus’ day, it was granted for the mysteries of the kingdom to be understood by the apostles (Mark 4:11-13; Matt. 13:11, 16). Everyone else heard a parable (Matt. 13:35). Jesus was explaining the secrets of the kingdom to His disciples in private (Mark 4:34; John 10:6). Even the book of Revelation reveals specific numbers of people who will be saved (Rev. 7:4). Just before Jesus Christ returns, the majority of the religiously deceived of the world—the tares that Satan made—will rejoice over the fact that God’s two witnesses have been put to death (Rev. 11:7, 10; Phil. 3:2). The tares are people who profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him (Titus 1:16; John 16:2). True disciples of Jesus Christ will be hated by the false Christians because the true disciples will expose those who are false by their righteous deeds (John 15:19). True disciples know that works are necessary in order to have Christ formed in them. They know their evil nature is put to death by living a life of good works, and that overcoming a life of bad works is true repentance (Acts 26:20 NIV). When Jesus returns, He must reign until He has put all of His enemies under His feet (1 Cor. 15:25). He will have a little over 1,000 years when He returns to accomplish this (Rev. 20:6). During this time, He will teach all nations about His Ways, which are simple (Micah 4:2; Is. 1:16-17; 2:3). Job knew God’s Ways and he constantly practiced them (Job 29:12-16). As a result, Job was turning away from evil by doing good (Job 1:1, 8; 2:3). He was considered blameless by God because of his daily actions (Job 14:16-17). Righteous Daniel advised the king to overcome evil by doing good, and that is Christ’s advice to us (Dan. 4:27; Matt. 5:20; 7:21; 1 Peter 3:11, 13; Rom. 12:21; Titus 3:8, 14). - The Purpose of Life - to do good works for God | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The Purpose of Life - to do good works for God The whole purpose of life is to seek the Lord and do good works for His glory (Eph. 2:10; Is. 55:6-7; Matt. 5:16). The Lord is righteous in all His Ways and kind in all His deeds (Psalm 145:17). He is found by those who live righteously (do good to please Him daily) and study His word to learn how He thinks (Acts 10:2, 38; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). The word of God states that without holiness no one will see the Lord (Heb. 12:14, King James Version). Now, to be holy one must be righteous, and to be righteous one must do good for God’s glory continually by practicing righteousness (Matt. 5:16; Col. 3:17; 1 John 3:7, 10; Job 29:12-15). God is going to test everyone who lives on the earth in the last days to see who will repent and serve Him by serving others (Rev. 3:10; Mal. 3:18). All the people on the earth must first have an opportunity to know the truth and know how to repent, change and live their lives to be pleasing to God (2 Peter 3:9). All must hear the message of repentance. Then they will have no excuse for their sins (John 15:22). This message of repentance is the central theme to the true message of the kingdom of heaven. This true message of the kingdom must be preached and published in the whole world for a witness first, and then the end will come (Matt. 24:14). There are two gospels being preached today. The “good-for-nothing” gospel that produces good-for-nothings because no permanent change for the good takes place in people’s lives who hear it. Then there is the “good-for-something” gospel that produces people who are zealous for good works, as Jesus Christ was and as He told us to be (Titus 2:14). The “good-for-nothing” gospel discourages or doesn’t talk about doing good works for God, and it also preaches a gospel of half-truths by which no one can be saved. Remember, good works are to be done for repentance for God’s glory; they are not done for salvation, because salvation cannot be earned by good works (Matt. 5:16). Salvation is a free gift that goes only to those who repent daily and live the repentant life that Jesus came to show us (Eph. 2:8-9). Will you be ready when Jesus Christ returns? Will you be found doing good works for God and fulfilling the purpose of your life? This is the purpose for which you were created (Eph. 2:10). And only those in their graves who had good deeds for God will come to a resurrection of life (John 5:28-29; Rev. 14:13; 20:12). - The New Covenant Spirit | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The New Covenant Spirit "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength" (Mark 12:30). This means that you shall serve only Him, love only Him, obey only Him, please only Him, worship only Him, glorify only Him, and do only His Will. This means you shall only do those things that are pleasing in His sight (John 8:29; 2 Cor. 5:9). You shall do well, practice righteousness and patience toward others, and continually do acts of kindness and charity (Matt. 5:16; 1 John 4:7). This means you must put up with the short-comings of others, forgive everyone their trespasses against you daily, and practice all the fruits of the Spirit (Matt. 6:14; Gal. 5:22-23). You are to always be in a joyful mood and make every day a day you live for God. Then, when it is God’s day, it will be a good day. Are all of your ways pleasing to God today? Are you going to please Him in all things or some things? Pleasing God in all things is being single-minded, not double-minded (James 1:6, 8). Are you going to do only God’s Will today, or a little bit of Satan’s too, by living to please the flesh? Are you bringing all your ways into subjection to Christ (2 Cor. 10:5)? Are you doing what Christ would have you do, or are you holding out a little? Is your heart pure before God, or partially pure? Are you off to a physical start each day, or are you off to a spiritual start by studying God’s word? Do you think of pleasing God all day, or do you even think about Him at all? What do you think about the most each day? Do you give God all of your troubles, or do you try to solve them yourself without His help (1 Peter 5:7)? Are you still trying to do God’s job of converting your spouse (1 Peter 3:1)? Who do you think you are - God? Remember, God is the only one who can convert or change any person. He is the one who causes the growth (1 Cor. 3:7). We should teach by our example. Then we know that we have the log out of our own eye and are ready to give a good answer when asked (Matt. 7:3-5; 2 Tim. 2:15). Many religious people are trying to convert the world to their beliefs when they are still unconverted before God themselves. We are to love the Lord wholeheartedly and we are to love our neighbor as ourselves (Mark 12:31). When we wholeheartedly serve others for the Lord, we are wholeheartedly serving the Lord (Matt 25:40). We cannot do one without doing the other, and when we do both, we are keeping the commandments in the New Covenant spirit. wholewheatonline.com Search A Life Free From Fear When you please God, He protects you from your enemies and even makes them be at peace with you (2 Sam. 22:18; Psalm 18:3, 17; Prov. 16:7). Jesus told you not to fear men or what they can do to the body. Instead, you are to fear God, who has the power to kill both the body and the soul (Matt. 10:28). Yes, God can destroy the soul of a man! When you obey God by walking the holy Way He walks, you are doing the Will of God on this earth daily as it is being done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). When you obey God, you become eligible for all the benefits that come from serving the Creator of heaven and earth. God protects you in famine and war, from violence, wild beasts and theft (Job 5:20-27; Psalm 10:5; 91:7; 34:7; 33:19; Prov. 3:25-26). He gives you long life and healthy children. The Lord will protect you from all evil and sickness if you are keeping His Ways (Psalm 121:7; 91:3; 103:3). You do this by practicing righteousness and honesty in all your dealings with man, just as Abraham did (Gen. 18:19). God will protect you if you learn and practice what pleases Him and bring up your children in the Ways of the Lord (Eph. 5:10; 6:4; Col. 3:20). God has told you in His word what is good and how to love Him (Micah 6:8; Zech. 7:9-10; Matt. 25:33-40; Prov. 8:17). You seek God by doing good for Him (Psalm 14:1-3; 1 Peter 3:11). Doing good for God is how you please Him and how you serve Him. You please your heavenly Father in the same way that you would please your earthly father - by doing everything you can to obey and please Him. Just get busy serving Him by serving others in kindness and charity. You are walking in the commandments and fulfilling the royal law when you practice righteousness toward your fellow man daily to please God (2 John 6; 1 John 3:7; James 2:8). The Law is not made for the righteous, but for sinners, because the righteous are already abiding by its principles (1 Tim. 1:8-10). When you practice righteousness daily by not swearing and lying, you are living according to the Law (Col. 3:8-9; Prov. 8:13). You are using your body as an instrument of righteousness (Rom. 6:12-13, 19). You are putting to death the deeds of the body by doing good for God, and you are no longer carrying out the desires of the flesh (Rom. 8:12-13; Gal. 5:16, 19-21). Then, you are no longer under the Law but under grace (Gal. 5:18; Rom. 6:14). Then, and only then, can you have a life free from fear and guilt - a life filled with God’s peace which surpasses all comprehension (Phil. 4:7). - Christ's Simple Message | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Christ's Simple Message Christ's simple message was, "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand," (Matt. 4:17). God wants to build a new heart in you, but you must be willing to repent or change (Ezek. 18:31; 36:26; Zech. 7:9, 12). You must be willing to turn around and go another way (Matt. 13:15). You must live God's Way - the Way of peace. God's Way is not the way of evil, but the way of good. Wouldn't it be something if God said He was good but He never did any good? He wouldn't really be good then; nor would He be God, would He (Psalm 145:17)? Wouldn't it be something if someone claimed to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and didn't continually live a life of doing good as Jesus did? He really wouldn't be a disciple then, would He? God is good because He does good continually, just as a true disciple of Christ does (Acts 9:36). Yes, a true disciple of Jesus Christ is one who does deeds of kindness and charity continually, day by day. He is a "do-gooder" for God, rather than a "good-for-nothing" for Satan (3 John 11; 1 John 3:10). God wants you to imitate Him so He can form Jesus Christ's nature in you and, at the same time, crush Satan's nature in you and bring it under control (Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1; Gal. 4:19; Rom. 16:20). It's an easy and pleasant process, but it does require obedience on your part (Matt. 11:30; Acts 5:32). After all, a faith with no obedience is no faith at all (James 2:20, 22, 24, 26). The world is full of people who have no light in them because they are into so much sin. They are full of darkness. God is making people who never had light into 1,000 watt light bulbs. God wants them to practice righteousness daily for Him. He wants people to glorify Him by doing good works so their lights will begin to shine for others to see (Matt. 5:16). Granted, when you start a life of overcoming evil by continually doing good works, your light may only be 25 watts, but eventually it will increase and increase as your old nature fades. God's new nature will then begin to be formed in you, with your cooperation, of course! Be careful not to do your good works for reasons of being noticed by men. Instead, do your good works so people notice God in you (Matt. 6:1; Eph. 6:6). Do all that you do in the name of Jesus Christ, as we have been commanded (Col. 3:17). God bless you as you begin to live a life that is a blessing to others-your new life in Christ! - Alcoholism | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Alcoholism What is alcoholism? Alcoholism is a penalty. It ris a just effect caused by abuse or misuse of a privilege. Alcohol by itself does no harm to anyone. Food by itself does no harm to anyone. Salt, pepper, and spices in moderate amounts do no harm to anyone. But what would be the result of abuse of these products? Great amounts of pepper can kill a person. Too much food can kill a person. Drinking too much alcohol can lead to permanent brain damage and kill a person. Too much alcohol impairs ones judgement and can cause harm to others, and oneself, unintentionally. It becomes evident that we are the culprits. God has given us this world and all it contains to use and enjoy, not to abuse and destroy. Yet, we can’t help but destroy because the word of God says we were born with an evil, destructive nature (Gen. 8:21; Eph. 2:3; Rom. 7:18-19). God’s word says we are being held captive by Satan to do his will (2 Tim. 2:26). Our nature is out to destroy us, but we must master it (Gen. 4:7). Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil by performing the works of God daily in His life (1 John 3:8). This is a very easy thing to do (Matt. 11:30). Just overcome evil by doing good (Rom. 12:21). Resist Satan and he will flee from you (Rom. 16:19-20; James 4:7). Who is there to harm us if we prove zealous for good deeds (1 Peter 3:13)? Jesus Christ drank wine (Luke 22:18; 7:34). He made wine from water and in the future, He will serve wine at the wedding supper for the saints (John 2:6-10; Is. 25:6). There are many Scriptures that support the wise, moderate use of alcohol (Eccl. 9:7; 8:15; 2:24; 5:18; Prov. 20:1; Eph. 5:18). Yet, the New Testament warns us not to become drunk (Gal. 5:21; Rom. 13:13; 1 Thess. 5:7). The Bible teaches us we are to be controlled by God’s Spirit, not alcohol (John 16:13; Rom. 8:14; 1 Tim. 3:3). Those who love God are told to practice moderation in all things (Prov. 11:1). We are to be examples of godliness, as we overcome our evil tendencies by choosing to honor God with good choices instead (1 Tim. 6:11; 1 Peter 3:11). So, if you are going to abuse alcohol, don’t use it. If you have abused it and are receiving your just penalty, then don’t use it anymore (Eph. 5:18; 1 Cor. 6:10; Rom. 13:13). There is much more to life than alcohol (1 Pet. 4:3). - "You automatically do good / righteousness" | Misconceptions VS. Truth
"You automatically do good / righteousness" MISCONCEPTION: When you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and believe in Him, you will just automatically do these works of righteousness as a result of your belief or faith. THE TRUTH IS: The Apostle Paul instructed his ministers to constantly remind people to engage in a life of doing good works for God (Titus 3:8), and this is something they would have to learn to do (Titus 3:14; Is. 1:16-20). The very reason God instructed His people to get together is to provoke one another to more love and good deeds (Heb. 10:24). The word provoke here means to go against your nature. The Apostle Paul had to discipline himself daily for the purpose of godliness so he wouldn’t be a hypocrite (1 Cor. 9:27; 1 Tim. 4:7). Does this sound like it comes naturally, or was the Apostle Paul fighting the good fight of faith by fighting his evil human nature and resisting Satan daily (1 Tim. 1:18)? - Rehabilitation | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Rehabilitation Many people do not stop to realize that the Bible is a handbook on rehabilitation. When He was living here on earth, Jesus Christ was calling all kinds of sinners to repentance and teaching them how to change their way of life to one that pleases God (Matt. 9:13; 1 Cor. 6:9-10). Zaccheus was one of these people. He was a chief tax collector for the Roman government (Luke 19:1-9). Christ always mentioned tax collectors right along with harlots. Zacchaeus stole a great deal of money and became rich by doing so. How did Zaccheus repent? He gave half of his possessions to the poor and made fourfold restitution to those he had cheated. Zacchaeus began practicing righteousness. He was truly getting involved with a life of good works and thus, leaving behind a life of bad works. Don’t you think he glorified God in heaven by those good works, and didn’t his light begin to shine (Matt. 5:16)? Zacchaeus must have understood what Jesus meant when He said to repent because Jesus said, "Today salvation has come to this house." Other thieves were also told to stop stealing and get an honest job so they could do good with their money and share it with others who had a need (Eph. 4:28). God’s policy on repentance includes practicing righteousness and honesty for God (Ezek. 33:13-16). John the Baptist told people how to do good for repentance (Luke 3:10-11; Matt. 21:32; 2 Peter 2:21). Yes, practicing righteousness toward others is how you prove to God that you are repentant (Acts 26:20; 1 John 3:7, 10). It is how you bring forth good fruits, which are good works, on your spiritual tree (Matt. 3:10; Luke 3:8; Col. 1:10). Keep doing God’s Will, which is righteousness, until God makes it come from your heart (Eph. 6:6; Matt. 5:20; Gal. 4:19; Rom. 16:20). The Lord is the only one who can rehabilitate a person. He is the only one who can grant you repentance (2 Tim. 2:25-26). PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

- Doing God's Will With Your Mouth | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Doing God's Will With Your Mouth You may recall seeing the three monkeys that depict hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil. It is true that what we see with our eyes and hear with our ears affects how we think, and has a direct bearing on what we say. If we train our ears and eyes not to listen to or look upon violence, we will have a better attitude mentally. Watching television shows or movies that depict violence, sexual promiscuity or perversion does have a lasting harmful effect on the human brain. God hates those who love violence (Psalm 11:5). He also hates the perverted mouth (Prov. 8:13). God hates evil. He hates people who are arrogant and full of pride, He loves righteousness (Psalm 11:7). God wants us to keep our tongues from speaking evil, lying and from using naughty talk which includes telling dirty jokes (Psalm 34:11-13). He wants us to depart from the evil way by doing good (Psalm 34:14-15; 37:27). When all our words are good, God will satisfy us with good. Just as the deeds of a man’s hands return to him, so also do the words of his mouth. God watches everything we do (Prov. 12:14; 15:3). Fools mock when they are told to stop sinning so God can bless them (Prov. 14:9). God says we are fools if our mouths are perverted (Prov. 19:1). Christ, our example, did not swear and neither should we (1 Peter 2:22; 4:11). We should not quarrel with our mouths (Prov. 20:1-3). It is by our deeds of mouth, as well as body, that we distinguish ourselves as righteous or wicked (Prov. 20:11). We are to put our lives in order, in a right and pleasing way, before God. This is how we show God we are thankful to know Him and have His protection and blessings (Psalm 18:47). Sure, it is a sacrifice, a sacrifice of righteousness and thanksgiving (Psalm 50:22-23; Heb. 13:16). Let's live our lives so we will see good days (1 Peter 3:10-13). Let us not be numbered with those who turned against righteousness (2 Peter 2:21; 1 John 1: 6). How can we, who told God we would die to sin, keep on sinning (Rom. 6:2, 23)? Let us abhor what is evil and not disqualify ourselves from eternal life (Rom. 12:9; 1 Cor. 9:27). Let us seek our neighbor’s good, and not our own first, when we talk (1 Cor. 10:24). Let all that we say be said in love because this pleases God in heaven (1 Cor. 16:14; 2 Cor 5:9). Let us not continue to be "sons of disobedience," getting drunk and using our mouths for evil, but please Him in all respects (Eph. 2:1-3; 5:18; Col. 1:10, 12). Consider the members of your body as dead to sin (Col. 3:5-17). Clean up your mouth, put on the new self and do all that you do for God (Col. 3:23-25; Mark 7:20, 23). - If God Told You | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search If God Told You If God told you that horrible times were coming upon all peoples who dwell on the earth, would you warn others? If God told you that times are coming which will be so bad that a person will eat the flesh off his own arm for lack of food, would you warn others (Rev. 6:5-6; Is. 9:20)? If God told you that so many humans would die as a result of the coming plagues that people won’t even bother to bury them because of disease, would you tell others (Jer. 16:4)? Would you warn others that these, and so many other things, are prophesied to happen near the end of man’s rule on this earth (Jer. 19:9; Ezek. 5:10; Micah 3:3; Zech. 11:9)? Would you warn others that they can be protected by God when these times come, and that they will be protected in times of war and fed in times of famine (Psalm 91:7-8; 33:19; 37:19)? All they need to do is begin to make all their ways kind and all their ways charitable towards others for God. Just stop doing wickedness and start practicing righteousness for God daily. It’s as simple as that! When you accept Jesus as your Savior, you accept the Way of life He instructed you to live. God commands us to love others and get along with them, because all others in the world represent our neighbors. When we continually practice deeds of kindness and charity towards others, then God considers us righteous and protects us (Acts 9:36; 1 John 3:7). If we won’t practice righteousness towards others for God daily, we remain sons or daughters of the devil (1 John 3:10). That’s why it says this in Isaiah 3:10: “Say to the righteous that it will go well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their own actions.” The Lord will not allow the righteous to hunger (Prov. 10:3; Psalm 34:17, 15; 37:39). The mystery of God is the one true gospel Jesus Christ preached to His servants the prophets 2,000 years ago, and it is not known by many today except by His true followers. It is the message of the truth which must be practiced daily towards others (John 3:21; Matt. 25:40). It is the Way to walk like God walks and imitate Him (Eph. 5:1). It is the Way to walk in the light, or live like Jesus the Prophet lived, and have our sins forgiven (1 John 1:6-7). Living the spiritual life is the Way to keep Jesus’ commandments, and they are not grievous or burdensome (1 John 2:7; 5:3). It is the spiritual life He came to show us how to live and the Way all true prophets of God lived, called the Way of righteousness (Matt. 21:32; 2 Peter 2:21). The true prophets of old told the sinners of the past to practice that Way of righteousness towards one another, if they were to continually have their sins forgiven by the Lord (Ezek. 33:31-33). It is the revealed gospel, for no amount of worldly knowledge would allow you to know this gospel, unless God gives you eyes to see and ears to hear (Matt. 13:11, 14-17). It is practicing righteousness and practicing charity toward others continually, because this is true repentance to our Maker, which allows Him to forgive our sins (Ezek. 33:16). It is the gospel that continually requires you to do something with your life—to practice holiness and godliness towards others. It is the true gospel that exposes all other false gospels that are being preached today. To the Law and to the testimony! If they speak not according to this word, they are false prophets coming to you with a false gospel (Is. 8:20). “To the Law” is the message of the true prophets of God, whether it be five thousand years ago or today. We keep the Law of God by practicing righteousness and charity, and being just in all our dealings with others. This is the true testimony of how to keep God’s laws and do them (Deut. 5:33; 6:18; 7:11; 8:3; 10:12-13). God’s laws are God’s Ways. Your sins are not forgiven unless you live the life of God in your body daily. You cannot be born again unless you live like Jesus, which is practicing righteousness for God towards others on a daily basis (1 John 2:29 New American Standard Version). You cannot be saved unless you live the repentant life daily—the Way Jesus came to show us by His example and deeds and tell us by His words (John 8:51; 12:47-50). This is how to “pick up your cross” daily (deny self, which is evil) and follow Jesus’ example of serving others daily (Luke 9:23). You are still in your sins if you are living to the flesh (still practicing sin) instead of putting to death the deeds of the flesh with the help of God’s Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:13). Now you know how to repent, how to change, how to live righteously and be blessed by God - practicing righteousness towards others daily. This is how to obey Jesus Christ and have your sins covered by His precious blood (1 Peter 1:2)! Walk in the Spirit (live like Jesus told you to live), and you will not carry out the evil desires of the flesh. Live to please God by being a servant of others for His glory (Gal. 5:16, 13; Matt. 23:11; 5:16; Rom. 12:1). When we do these things daily, we will be protected from the things which are soon to come upon all other people in the world for their time of testing (Rev. 3:10; Zeph. 2:3; Dan. 12:1; Luke 21:36 King James Version; Psalm 91:1-16)! - The Keys to the Kingdom | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The Keys to the Kingdom Jesus gave the keys of the kingdom — the knowledge of how to enter the kingdom of God — to the Apostle Peter (Matt. 16:19). He said this particular kingdom was not coming with signs to be observed. That kingdom, with signs, is coming in the future. But the kingdom Christ was talking about was “at hand,” right now. It was within a person, or “within you” (Matt. 3:2; 4:17; 10:7; Luke 17:21). The Pharisees also had the key of knowledge and Jesus scolded them for not entering that kingdom within and for causing others who were trying to enter to stumble (Luke 11:52; Matt. 23:13). These Pharisees were not forcing their way into the kingdom and seizing it for themselves by being servants to others (Luke 16:16; Matt. 23:11). You must read the true translation of Matthew 11:12, which is in the margin. It says, “The kingdom of God is forcibly entered and you must seize it for yourself!” This is proof that there is not only a kingdom of God that must be entered within, but that you must force your way into that kingdom by doing good daily for God in order to seize it for yourself. Our righteousness must come from our heart and surpass the hypocritical stage of the Pharisees or we won’t enter the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 5:20). This kingdom is entered by doing God’s Will, which is practicing works of righteousness daily on earth, just as works of righteousness are daily being done in heaven by God (Matt. 7:21; 6:10). These are works of helping those in need and doing acts of kindness and charity continually for God’s glory (Acts 9:36). We must have righteousness to enter this kingdom. Righteousness done for God is holiness when it comes from your heart daily (Eph. 6:6; Col. 1:10; Heb. 12:14 King James Version). Matthew 6:1 says that we must practice this righteousness, not to be seen of men like the Pharisees, but as happy slaves of God, doing His Will from the heart. What is this righteousness, then, that we practice daily to please God? “Good works,” say Matthew 5:16 and Romans 2:6-7. We were created in Christ Jesus for good works (Eph. 2:10). All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for training in righteousness and for equipping us for every good work (2 Tim. 3:16-17; Matt. 25:33-40; Luke 3:11; James 2:14, 17; 1 John 3:17-19). Jesus is waiting for many to glorify the Father with good works so the Father can form and reveal His Son in them. Are you keeping God’s Ways of righteousness (Gal. 1:15-16; 4:19)? When Jesus Christ returns, will you be one of the peculiar persons He has made for Himself, and to whom He has given the keys of the kingdom — the truth of how to live the repentant life? Will you be one who is zealous for good works (Titus 2:14)? Remember, Jesus Christ himself said those who have good works are resurrected to eternal life (John 5:29)! - Understanding Human Nature | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Understanding Human Nature What is human nature? It is sneaky, indifferent, evil, underhanded, untrustworthy, double-minded, unstable, destructive, degenerative, unreasoning, uncooperative, competitive, vile and evil in every way. It looks for what is wrong rather than what is right (Jer. 6:16). It sees the negative and hates the positive. It is dark because it is evil and hates the light, which is goodness. The Bible goes on and on, making list upon list about human nature and the deeds of the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21; Mark 7:21-23; Eph. 5:5; Jude 15-16; 2 Tim. 3:2-4; Rom. 1:29-32; Mal. 3:5). Human nature is evil and contains no good thing. Even the good we do in the flesh, is like filthy rags to God (Is. 64:6). The good we do in the flesh puffs us up, makes us haughty and arrogant, and makes us feel that we don’t need repentance. All the good we do in the flesh is done for self-interest, or for gaining advantage in one way or another. The good we do in the Spirit, however, is the complete opposite. When we overcome our evil natures by doing good works for God on a daily basis, and heed God’s warnings to do what we do in secret and not blow our horns, we begin to feel our old evil natures die (Matt. 6:1; 5:16, 20). We starve out the evil by just doing good for God with our bodies, our minds and our mouths. We force our bodies to do what is right with the power from the Holy Spirit, whom God gives to those who obey Him (Acts 5:32). God never made a nature He couldn’t crush, but He does need your cooperation, participation and effort to form Christ’s new nature in you (Psalm 50:22-23). He wants you to practice righteousness for Him daily. He wants you to put your hand to the plow and not turn back, or stop, until that nature is put to death. Then, God has had a chance to perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you in His love (Luke 9:62; 1 Peter 5:10; 1 John 4:18).❑ PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
