  • Godly Advice to the Unmarried | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Godly Advice to the Unmarried In years past, there was a thing called courtship. Many today call it dating. This is when a man and woman would get to know each other and see if they were compatible to be husband and wife. The man would woo a woman by taking her out to dinner, bringing her flowers, or other tokens of affection as acts of kindness. He would show to her, by his continual actions, that he was kind, generous, outgoing and a lovable type of person, marriage material, if you will. She would show him the same by her words and actions. Today, courtship or dating has become living together, fornicating and using one another for self-gratification. People engage in sexual activity with anyone they want, at any time, without much thought, many times with no intention of even continuing a relationship - much less marriage. This is considered lascivious in the Bible, which is being loose or indulging in improper lustful desires (Mark 7:22; 2 Cor. 12:21; Eph. 4:19 KJV). Yes, people have turned what was designed by God to be beautiful, into a nightmare of continual sin. How far removed we are from what was intended for our own good by a loving Creator. If a man looks upon a woman with lust, he has already committed adultery or fornication with her in his heart, says Jesus Christ our Creator and Sustainer (Matt. 5:28). How much more has one sinned, when enticing a man to lust after her, by removing her clothes and exposing her body for him to gaze upon. People do not realize that God is the one who brings sinner’s ways back on their own heads (Psalm 125:4; Jer. 4:18; 26:3, 13; 32:19; Ezek. 7:3, 9; 11:21; 18:32). Shouldn’t we, then, make all our ways pleasing to the Lord so He can bless us instead of curse us? The Lord is righteous in all His Ways and kind in all His deeds (Psalm 145:17). God wants us to make all our ways right before Him. He wants us to make all our deeds righteous and kind so He can bless us and answer our prayers. God hates sin and sin is lawlessness (1 John 3:4). God loves purity, decency and morality. God is against adultery, fornication, or sexual experimentation. The advice to an unmarried person is, if that person cannot demonstrate self-control sexually, then marry, for it is better to marry than to burn. We are warned and admonished by the word of God to flee immorality (1 Cor. 6:18). When you join yourself to another through intercourse, you become one flesh or the same as married in God’s word (1 Cor. 6:16; Matt. 19:6). This being so, you must now follow God’s commandments on marriage (1 Corinthians Chapter 7). However, if you do not honor that relationship, as if you were married, and go and have intercourse with someone else, now you have committed adultery (Matt. 5:31-32; 19:8-9). Because of immorality, let every man have his own wife (1 Cor. 7:2). We are constantly warned not to act immorally (1 Cor. 10:8). The Bible says immoral persons will go into the lake of fire, which will be located in Jerusalem, and this is the second death (Is. 31:9; Rev. 21:8). It is not a sin to think immoral thoughts, only to dwell on them. It is Satan’s job to tempt you. When you put immoral thoughts out of your mind, you resist Satan and he will flee from you. What you premeditate, you normally do, sooner or later. So premeditate doing good for God and overcome evil by doing good (1 Peter 3:11; Rom. 12:21; Rom. 2:7; 2 Peter 2:6; Jude 1:7). Many people do not know that the tests we go through in this life are from God. He wants to see whether or not we will obey Him and cry out to Him in our time of need. God hears the prayer of the righteous—those who do good and not evil continually; those who are the sheep and not the goats (John 9:31; Matt. 25:33-46). Remember always, God is watching us from a distance (Psalm 33:14). Galatians 5:19-21; Mark 7:21-23; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Ephesians 5:3-5; 2 Timothy 3:2-5; and Malachi 3:5 cover the acts of our sinful nature, which we are to put to death with the help of God’s Spirit (Rom. 8:13). Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things, God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient (Col. 3:5-6). Therefore, do not be partakers with them; for you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. The fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth. Find out what pleases the Lord and engage in it daily for repentance (Eph. 5:6-10, 17; Matt. 3:2). In Bible times, those who were true disciples of Jesus Christ were overcoming evil by continually doing good for the Lord (Rom. 2:7; 12:21; Psalm 37:27). Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever, and so is His message of overcoming (Heb. 13:8). We need to put His words into action daily and do God’s Will so we will abide forever (John 8:51; 1 John 2:17). Remember, there is nothing impossible for God’s disciples to overcome (Luke 1:37; Matt 17:20). It just takes daily determination and fighting the good fight of faith for God (1 Tim. 6:12). You can do all things through Him that strengthens you (Phil. 4:13). PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

  • A Way of Escape - Place of Safety Scriptures | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search A Way of Escape - Place of Safety Scriptures The Bible is packed full of evidence about receiving protection from what is to come in the last days. It is a reward for those who remain zealous for good deeds and who keep the word of God with perseverance (1 Peter 3:13; Rev. 3:10). It only stands to reason that since Jesus Christ is making a peculiar people who are zealous for good deeds, they would be the ones who are continually praying to be found worthy to escape what is coming and stand before the Son of Man (Titus 2:14; Luke 21:36). It is a little flock, of that you can be sure (Luke 12:32) and few are those who find the truth (Matt. 7:14). Remember, many are called and few are chosen. You must be counted worthy to inherit eternal life (Luke 20:35). If you don’t want to be considered part of the dead, you must be living to please God (Luke 20:38). There is no question that some will be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger (Zeph. 2:3). God is going to gather us together and hide us because He has redeemed us (Zech. 10:8). It will go well with the righteous (Is. 3:10). We are going to disappear, body and all, just as Philip did (Matt. 24:40-42; Acts 8:39-40). Christ tells us to go into our rooms and hide (Is. 26:20). We are going to be hidden from Satan and protected by Christ (Is. 16:4; Rev. 12:15-17). We are going to sing aloud from Sela (Is. 42:11). We are going to be met by people who will give us bread (Is. 21:14; 33:16). We will all have our mates (Is. 34:16). We will be in caves (Is. 42:22). We are going to enter the rock and hide in the dust (Is. 2:10). We will go to a place called Sela (Is. 16:1). Bible translators thought Sela was a musical interlude (Psalm 83:8—see margin note) but in reality, Sela is another name for rock, and Petra is that rock. It is the place where the children of Israel were taken and hidden when they came out of Egypt, or sin. Consider this. If those who practice righteousness are scarcely saved, what will happen to those who do not obey the gospel (1 John 2:29; 3:7, 10; 1 Peter 4:18)? Scriptures on the Place of Safety Isaiah 16:1, 3-4 — Send the tribute lamb to the ruler of the land, from Sela by way of the wilderness to the mountain of the daughter of Zion. Give us advice, make a decision; cast your shadow like night at high noon; hide the outcasts, do not betray the fugitive. Let the outcasts of Moab stay with you; be a hiding place to them from the destroyer. For the extortioner has come to an end, destruction has ceased, oppressors have completely disappeared from the land. Isaiah 42:11 — Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice, the settlements where Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing aloud. Let them shout for joy from the tops of the mountains. Isaiah 44:8 — Do not tremble and do not be afraid; have I not long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me, or is there any other Rock? I know of none. Isaiah 3:10 — Say to the righteous that it will go well with them, for they will eat the fruit of their actions. Isaiah 30:27 — Behold, the name of the Lord comes from a remote place; burning is His anger, and dense is His smoke; His lips are filled with indignation, and His tongue is like a consuming fire. Isaiah 26:20 — Come, My people, enter into your rooms, and close your doors behind you; hide for a little while, until indignation runs its course. Isaiah 21:14 — Bring water for the thirsty, oh inhabitants of the land of Tema. Meet the fugitive with bread. Isaiah 42:22 — But this is a people plundered and despoiled; all of them are trapped in caves, or are hidden away in prisons; they have become a prey with none to deliver them, and a spoil, with none to say, “Give them back!” Isaiah 51:1-7, 14 — Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, who seek the Lord: look to the rock from which you were hewn, and to the quarry from which you were dug. Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain; when he was one I called him, then I blessed him and multiplied him. Indeed, the Lord will comfort Zion; He will comfort all her waste places. And her wilderness He will make like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and sound of a melody. Pay attention to Me, oh My people; and give ear to Me, oh My nation; for a law will go forth from Me, and I will set My justice for a light of the peoples. My righteousness is near, My salvation has gone forth, and My arms will judge the peoples; the coastlands will wait for Me, and for My arm they will wait expectantly. Lift up your eyes to the sky, then look to the earth beneath; for the sky will vanish like smoke, and the earth will wear out like a garment, and its inhabitants will die in like manner. But My salvation shall be forever, and My righteousness shall not wane. Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, a people in whose heart is My law; do not fear the reproach of man, neither be dismayed at their revilings. The exile will soon be set free, and will not die in the dungeon, nor will his bread be lacking. Isaiah 55:5 — Behold, you will call a nation you do not know, and a nation which knows you not will run to you, because of the Lord your God, even the Holy One of Israel; for He has glorified you. Isaiah 2:10 — Enter the rock and hide in the dust from the terror of the Lord and from the splendor of His majesty. Isaiah 33:16 — He will dwell on the heights; his refuge will be the impregnable rock; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure. Isaiah 34:16 — Seek from the book of the Lord and read; not one of these will be missing; none will lack its mate. For His mouth has commanded, and His Spirit has gathered them (see also Matthew 24:40-42). Isaiah 64:5 — You meet him who rejoices in doing righteousness, who remembers You in Your Ways. Isaiah 58:12 — Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will raise up the age-old foundations; and you will be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of the streets in which to dwell. Psalm 27:5 — For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. Psalm 32:7 — You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Psalm 94:8, 13 — Pay heed, you senseless among the people; and when will you understand, stupid ones? That You may grant him relief from the days of adversity, until a pit is dug for the wicked. Psalm 34:13-14 — Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. Psalm 25:20 — Guard my soul and deliver me; do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in You. Luke 21:36, 19 — But keep on the alert at all times, praying in order that you may be have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of man. By your endurance you will gain your lives. Revelation 12:1 — And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. Revelation 14:12 — Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. Revelation 13:10 — If any one is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; if any one kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 — For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Zechariah 13:9 — And I will bring the third part through the fire, refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them; I will say, “They are My people,” and they will say, “The Lord is my God.” Romans 2:7-10 — To those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, and eternal life; but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation. There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil; but glory and honor and peace to every man who does good… Zephaniah 2:3 — Seek the Lord, all you humble of the earth who have carried out His ordinances; seek righteousness, seek humility. Perhaps you will be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger. Matthew 24:40-41 — Then there shall be two men in the field; one will be taken, and one will be left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken, and one will be left. Acts 8:39-40 — And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch saw him no more, but went on his way rejoicing. But Philip found himself at Azotus; and as he passed through he kept preaching the gospel to all the cities, until he came to Cæsarea. Zephaniah 3:8 — “Therefore, wait for Me,” declares the Lord, “for the day when I rise up as a witness. Indeed, My decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out on them My indignation, all My burning anger; for all the earth will be devoured by the fire of My zeal.” Zechariah 10:8 — I will whistle for them to gather them together, for I have redeemed them; and they will be as numerous as they were before. Hosea 10:12 — Sow with a view to righteousness, reap in accordance with kindness; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord until He comes to rain righteousness on you. Hosea 12:6 — Therefore, return to your God, observe kindness and justice, and wait for your God continually. Revelation 3:10 — Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell upon the earth. • Public Enemy #1 | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Public Enemy #1 God’s word says that it is our thoughts, our ways or deeds, our thinking and our actions that are not good. Our human nature represents our will, which is also referred to as Satan’s will. Our ways, our deeds, and our thinking is Satan’s thinking. It is his consciousness or his will that is in us (2 Tim. 2:26; John 2:25; Rom. 16:20; John 8:44; James 3:15). I am making a point: we are to no longer think the way we used to think, talk the way we used to talk or walk the way we used to walk. We are to turn around and live how God says we are to live, think the way God tells us to think, talk the way God wants us to talk and walk the way God wants us to walk. We are to no longer live by our old ways that caused us every problem we ever had, and immediately begin to live by God’s Ways only! Stop talking! Stop thinking! Start acting! Start walking! Stop making excuses and just do it! Many talk about their problems but are unable to do anything about them. Stop talking about your problems and just do something about them in secret. You are giving in to your old ways—making excuses. Fight the good fight of faith. Stop thinking why you can’t; start doing what needs to be done. Stop talking about your problems; start walking the right way. Just do it! God has His new nature waiting for you when you get rid of your old nature with the power of His Holy Spirit. We will never know the new until we get rid of the old. Stop giving in to your old ways. Start resisting your old nature by not giving it space in which to exist by continually doing good. Stop thinking to the flesh; just start thinking to the Spirit: “How can I please God?” Satan is at the door of your heart, and he is trying to get you to destroy yourself but you must master him. You must take hold of your nature and tell it what to do and not give in to Satan’s wiles and let God tell you what to do (Gen. 4:7). You have God’s Spirit—use it! You have the power of prayer—use it! You have the tool of fasting—do it! God’s Spirit is a spirit of power, a spirit of love, a spirit that is stronger than any spirit of the devil. Jesus was tempted in all things, but with the power of God’s Spirit, He never gave in to sin. Many who have God’s Spirit of power today give in to everything, like they never even received God’s Spirit of power. Stop making excuses. It’s killing some of you. You’re giving in to Satan. God never called you to continue to live an undisciplined life. Use that Spirit of victory! Control your body, control your thinking, control your mouth and control your appetite. Eat to live and don’t live to eat any longer. God gives you His Spirit of a sound mind. Use it or you’ll lose it! God is not only watching you from a distance, He is also testing you to see whether you are building godly character in your life or not. You will not enter the kingdom of God within unless you control your bodily actions from without. You must maintain the attitude of a little child and get rid of your arrogant, vanity-filled nature that’s prideful, egotistical and sensual, or you will never change! For many years I have counseled many people about their problems. The number one thing that was wrong was their thinking and their words. Stop thinking bad thoughts, stop condemning yourself to use that as an excuse for not doing something about your problems. You know the right way. Make up your mind to do it now! Thousands of people are losing weight, while thousands are making deadly excuses. Thousands are changing and getting rid of their old self with their old ways, while thousands are making excuses. Don’t talk—just walk the right way! Being a disciple of Jesus Christ is a daily discipline. The very word “disciple” comes from the word “discipline.” Strive or discipline yourself to enter by the narrow door or you won’t be able. I can’t make you change and neither can God. Yet, God is standing by to help you, should you put forth the slightest effort. Get your mind off of self and on to God and never turn back. The root of all of our problems is wanting our own way. God says, in Psalms 50:22-23, that we are to order all of our ways right (make them right) before God; this is the sacrifice of thanksgiving which honors the Lord. If you forget this you are forgetting God and He will tear you in pieces and there will be none to deliver you. What right do you have to talk about God’s Ways to others, when you hate discipline? God says that the undisciplined person is wicked (Psalm 50:16-17). There are some of God’s servants who are drinking too much. God says the drunkard will not inherit the kingdom of God, and He is coming when you least expect Him (Matt. 24:49-50; Luke 21:34; 1 Cor. 6:10). We need to know who the Bible says the wicked are. Jesus made it clear to the Pharisees. They understood what He was saying to them, and yet, they didn’t apply it; they were still in their sins (John 9:40-41). After a person hears the truth, they no longer have an excuse for their sins (John 15:22). We need to realize there are no excuses and remember that. Therefore, the one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin (James 4:17). In these last days, God is going to distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between the one who serves God (does what God says) and the one who does not serve Him (Mal. 3:18). We know well that the goats described in the Bible will be thrown into the eternal fire, not only because they didn’t do good to those in need, but because they would not study their Bibles daily to be approved by God and apply God’s word in their lives (Matt. 25:41-46; 2 Tim. 2:15 King James Version). God’s word clearly states that serving God is done by serving others (Matt. 25:40, 45; James 2:15-26; 1 John 3:18-19). It is also receiving a love for God’s truth (His word) so as to be saved (2 Thess. 2:10-12). Sin shall not have dominion over you anymore, should you stop giving in to your old nature with its old ways and excuses (Rom. 6:14). Unless you allow the Lord to reign in your life and unless you obey Him, you will be slain by Him when He returns (Luke 19:27). God’s truth is like a hammer shattering a rock—smashing a rock—delivered by His ministers who are like flames of fire (Jer. 23:29; Heb. 1:7; Psalm 104:4). They have to be, because of the stubbornness of all of our hearts. Don’t allow yourself to be lulled to sleep by another Bible study, for unless a person applies God’s word and obeys God’s word, they will surely perish (Ezek. 33:31-33; Luke 13:3, 5; Matt. 3:10; 7:19). Jesus said that His Ways are very easy and very pleasant, and what He commanded us to do was not burdensome (Matt. 11:30; 1 John 5:3). It is the way to peace, happiness, blessings and eternal life, but you must do what you are supposed to do to receive it! God only wants the best for you and He has blessings ready and waiting for you. You must want the best for yourself to make it happen. Many are being blessed today and finding that God’s Ways work; but you must work by putting your hand to the plow by doing what is right. Let’s get rid of public enemy #1 and then we will be #1 in God’s eyes and be a good example for others. • What is Freedom? | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search What is Freedom? To Satan, freedom is doing what you want. How many wars have been fought for freedom? How many people in the past have died for freedom? With all the wars that have been fought for freedom, does the world enjoy peace? What does God’s word say about freedom and wars? James 4:1-4 talks about this; ‘What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures [your self-interest] that wages war inside your body? You lust [covet] and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain [have your own way] so you fight and quarrel. Even when you pray to God for things, you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your own pleasures [because you want what you want for self]. You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? [When you continue to live selfish, inward lives, you are continuing to live like the world lives]. Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend to the world makes himself an enemy of God.’ [This, then, is the same as committing adultery against God.] Nations fight and kill each other for the same reasons—sin and human nature. Jesus was sent to this world to show man how to escape from this human nature, which has kept him enslaved by the devil. Man is being held captive by Satan to do his will (2 Tim. 2:26). Jesus said to seek the truth and you will be set free from your present nature which is evil, compared to God’s nature which is righteous and pure. Seek the truth [God’s word] and it will set you free from all religious error which grips the world. Seek the truth and it will set you free from Satan who has deceived the whole world (John 8:32; Rev. 12:9). By daily study of God’s word by subject, you not only can prove that God exists but also that He rewards those who diligently seek Him (Heb. 11:6). You will find God’s word to be a true history of man and that the world is full of pagan, godless lies, which are being taught to your children in schools and colleges. For example, your children are being taught that writing, and the writing of books, did not occur until a recent date and as a result, books were not available to people long ago. However, in Halley’s Bible Handbook, page 51, an article is written called: “Libraries in Abraham’s Day and Schools in Abraham’s Day.” We all know that Enoch wrote several books in his day, and he lived seven generations after Adam and Eve. That book of Enoch is still available today! Man’s thoughts are being controlled today; and he is being fed rubbish. 1 Corinthians 3:19 says that the knowledge of this world is foolishness to God. It is of the earth and is demonic (James 3:15). True knowledge comes from God above. When you obey God, He not only gives you true knowledge but also wisdom for the asking. Freedom comes from keeping laws—God’s laws. When you keep God’s laws, He protects you from harm, feeds you in times of famine, protects you from disease, blesses everything you put your hand to do, gives you a long life filled with joy, peace, prosperity and eternal life (Psalm 91:1-16; Deut. 30:15; Psalm 25:13; 37:11)! You keep God’s laws in the Spirit by continually doing good. Freedom comes from knowing the truth. Freedom comes from practicing the truth. Freedom comes from getting rid of your old evil nature and having Christ’s new nature (which He has waiting for you) formed in you (Gal. 4:19; 2 Peter 1:4). He who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. You love others and fulfill that law when you only live to do good to others and serve and help them whenever you have the opportunity. Being a servant of others is imitating Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 11:1; Rom. 15:2-3). Halley’s Bible Handbook also describes how Jesus Christ lived and gave us example to live. On page 20, it says: “As a man, He lived the most strangely beautiful life ever known. He was the kindest, tenderest, gentlest, most patient, most sympathetic man that ever lived. He loved people. He hated to see people in trouble. He loved to forgive. He loved to help. He wrought marvelous miracles to feed hungry people. For relieving the suffering He forgot to take food for Himself. Multitudes, weary, pain-ridden, and heart sick, came to Him, and found healing and relief. It is said of Him, and no other (John 21:25), that if all the deeds of kindness He did were written, the world could not contain the books. That is the kind of man Jesus was. That is the kind of Person God is. And, Jesus said that those who would be followers of His would do more deeds of kindness than He did (John 14:12)! It is this precious Way of life that Jesus came to show mankind, which is called the Way of righteousness. This is true freedom. It is also the directions to eternal life (John 12:47-50; Matt. 21:32). Jesus delivered to us the words of the Father, as He was prophesied to do in Deuteronomy 18:15 and 17-19. Anyone who will not obey Jesus’ words will be utterly destroyed from among the people in the future (Acts 3:23). I think Jesus was serious when He said that unless we repent and keep His words, we will perish (Luke 13:3, 5; John 8:51). Don’t be a continual test on your life-long partner, but lovingly and willingly put yourself under his control, just as you are doing for Jesus Christ each day. Being a leader does not come naturally, but it is a responsibility men must learn to fulfill for God. Always keep in mind that everything you do for your husband, you are doing for God. Many who marry out of love, immediately become their spouse’s adversary. This should not be. You, as women, are to hold up your end as the perfect example, and be an inspiration for your husband. Do things for your husband that you know will please him. Plan ahead. Put him first in everything you do. Never, never, never insist on your own way. Live only to please or be pleasing to your husband. Do not correct your husband. If he makes a statement, never take the opposite point of view; but rather, be diplomatic, kind and understanding. Guard the door of your mouth and don’t let just anything pour forth (Psalm 141:3). Control yourself—control your emotions—control your mouth. A big mouth lets every thought fly forth, whether it be good or evil. Practice having a quiet mouth and be a woman of few, meaningful, godly words (Prov. 31:26). God’s word says the more you talk, the greater the chance that evil will come out of your mouth (Prov. 10:19). Never forget that. Never allow yourself to harbor hurt feelings or resentments of any kind. Maintain a totally compassionate heart that is full of love for God. Matthew 6:12 says: “Forgive us our trespasses [faults and sins], as we forgive those who trespass against us [minute by minute, day by day]” (Matt. 6:14-15). Organize your life. Just as the husband must learn to be the leader of the household, the wife must learn to be neat and tidy. A man loves to come home to greet his lovely wife in a lovely setting. Prepare for your husband’s arrival. Stop living a life filled with excuses. Don’t allow yourself to greet him with your hair a mess or unpresentable in any way. Let him know he was blessed when he married you, instead of giving him the chance to regret it. When two young people get married, they normally have a lot of bad habits they drag along with them into the marriage. An example of this would be leaving unclean clothes strewn all over. Let’s face it, many young people live like pigs and their rooms are like a pig sty. Organize your life. Pick up after your husband and never complain. Never expect appreciation or recognition for what you do for him. That’s evil. Do what you do for the Lord. He sees; He repays; He rewards (Matt. 5:16). Respect your husband; respect your neighbor; respect yourself. And, respect God and His word which tell you how to live, so you may live long, happy, full lives. Respect means to show honor. Try not to say or do any wrong to your husband or to anyone—ever. Try not to speak wrong of anyone—ever. Show honor and respect to your relatives and parents. Be kind to all; show love to all; do good to all; say good of all. Pure love does not keep track of evil done against itself by others (1 Cor. 13:5; 16:14; Titus 2:7). Enjoy each other; live to please each other to glorify God. Totally give yourself to each other sexually, as God intended when you are married. You belong to him and he belongs to you - you are now one flesh (Matt. 19:6). Be of the attitude: “What is your pleasure?” or, “How may I please you?” as long as it is within God’s will (Prov. 5:18-19). Take time for each other. Take time to cuddle with each other; kiss each other; touch each other. Walk together; talk together; have fun together. This is the whole purpose for your relationship. How you treat your husband is how you treat yourself. Whatever you do will eventually come back to you (Gal. 6:7; Prov. 11:25; 12:14). If you are living selfishly, you will never see or be aware of your problems or faults. You will come across as a holy martyr, when it is really your evil ways returning to you as a curse. Prepare yourself to suffer for doing what is right (1 Peter 3:17). You were called for this very purpose, so Christ’s nature can be manifested in you (Gal. 4:19). Shape up; grow up and be spiritually mature. Then you will experience real joy—lasting joy. Jesus came that your joy may be made full (John 15:11). That happens when you are fully conformed to God’s Ways and leave your old ways behind (2 Cor. 13:11). The name of this article is “ADORE.” When you adore your husband in these ways, you are showing adoration towards the Lord and His Ways. This is how to please the Lord every day. You are also helping to create a marriage that is an example for others to follow, and you are helping your husband be the best he can be. Through your continual love and patience, he will find the strength to endure, and with a loving wife like you, it will be much easier to overcome those difficult areas in his life. Together with the Lord’s help, you can both make it! PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
