- Whole Wheat International | Learn to study the Bible
Whole Wheat International has been teaching people how to study and apply the Bible in their every day lives for over 45 years. GET THE MESSAGE The truth is simple just simply not known Whole Wheat is here 24 hours a day, to encourage you with the truth from God’s word, His Scriptures and promises, that give hope. God will help us navigate all that is happening in our world (Matt. 6:33; 1 Pet. 1:5). He tells us, in John 14:27, not to let our hearts be troubled or fearful but that He gives peace, that the world does not give. God is our refuge and strength and He knows who are His (Ps. 46:1; Nahum 1:7). We can have faith and hope in this, as we put Him first and pursue righteousness (Prov. 21:21). He fulfills His promises for the righteous as we honor Him and we come under His protection when we are zealously living for Him (1 Pet. 3:13). As the world grows darker, we need to remember to continue to show love to our neighbor, use the power of prayer and put all that we know into practice, using God’s wisdom and discernment (James 2:8; James 5:13-18). He is a shield to those that walk in integrity (Prov. 2:6-7). As our founder used to say, 'We do our best and God does the rest.' Learn about Whole Wheat International, our founder, statement of faith, the purpose of Whole Wheat and what it means to be a Whole Wheat here. See our Founder's Biopic here ABOUT US Statement of Faith What do we believe? Whole Wheat International is a non-profit organization that is not affiliated with any church or church doctrine. It is a non-denominational ministry with the goal of helping people learn how to study their Bibles, and apply God’s word and God’s Way’s in their every day lives, using the example given by Jesus Christ. We believe, as we are told in God’s word, that Christ is the church and that the body of believers, who live like Jesus Christ gave them example to live, are that church. He is the Head of the church and His true followers (Col. 1:24; Eph. 5:23; John 15:8 AMPC). Jesus came to start a spiritual church. Everyone who belongs to that spiritual church must live a spiritual life for Jesus every day by overcoming, like Jesus Christ gave them example and told them to do (Rev. 3:21). We believe, as Scripture tells us, that worship of Jesus Christ is done in spirit and in truth, which does not require going to a building but living a righteous and holy way of life each day to honor God, using our bodies as a living and holy sacrifice in God’s service, which is our spiritual service of worship (John 4:24; Rom. 12:1-2 AMPC). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us, that you should study the Bible to show yourself approved by God and look up the Scriptures given and prove to yourself what is being said (2 Tim. 2:15; 3:16-17). Learn more . We believe, as we are told in the Bible, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who came in the flesh and died for the sins of mankind (Matt. 16:15-16; John 10:33). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us, that accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior means living a whole new way of life, not living to the flesh any longer, with its evil passions and desires, but rather, living to the Spirit, which is living by the Will of God, committing all our ways to be a blessing to the Lord (John 14:23,24; 3:36; 1 John 2:29). Learn more . We believe, as Scripture reveals, that by living this new Way of life and making a commitment through baptism, following Christ’s example, we are obeying Christ and will then have our sins covered by His blood (1 Peter 1:2; 1 John 1:6-7; Acts 26:20 AMPC; Luke 3:8 AMPC, 10-11; Acts 2:38 AMPC). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us, we are to imitate Christ, as He imitated the Father. We are to talk as He talked, walk as He walked, being a servant to others, following His example and bringing glory to His name (1 Pet 4:11; Matt. 20:28). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us, those who are His servants obey His precepts, follow His Way of life (Way of righteousness), and live by His Will, overcoming evil by doing good daily. We believe, as told in God’s word that this is demonstrating, by our deeds, our repentance daily and allows us to become new creatures in Christ, putting on Christ’s nature and leaving our old human nature behind (Eph. 5:1; John 14:6; 11:26; John 3:36; 1 Pet. 4:2 AMP; Rom. 12:21; Acts 26:20 NIV 1984; 2 Cor. 5:17 AMPC; Gal. 6:15 AMPC; 1 John 3:10 AMPC). Learn more. We believe, as we are told in the Bible, that God in heaven sent His Son Jesus Christ, to show us how to love one another, overcome the world and be servants of the most (John 3:16; 15:17; Rom. 13:10; John 16:33; Matt 23:11; Mark 10:43). Learn more. We believe, as we are told in the Bible, that showing love to one another and to God is living charitably, like Jesus Christ gave us example to live, in thought, word and deed (1 Tim. 1:5; 1 John 4:7-8; Eph. 5:10). Learn more. We believe, as Scriptures tell us, that living charitably is putting others first and not keeping track of wrongs committed against us by others. We are commanded by God to love our enemies and do good to them as Christ, our example, was even kind to ungrateful and evil men (1 Cor. 13:5; Luke 6:27-28, 35). Learn more. We believe, as we are told in God’s word, that in doing all we do, in thought word and deed for the glory of God, practicing godliness each day, we are in the process of perfecting and maturing in all of our ways, disciplining ourselves for the purpose of godliness and becoming spiritually fit (Col. 3:17; Matt. 23:11; Luke 11:41; Matt. 5:43-48; 1 Tim. 4:7 AMP). Learn more. We believe, as Christ told us, that when we do everything that is pleasing in God’s sight, we are keeping His commandments and doing His Will. Then we know we will receive what we ask of Him (John 9:31; Luke 8:21; 1 Pet. 2:15; Rom. 12:2; 1 John 3:22). Learn more. We believe, as we are told in the Bible, that living our lives to be pleasing to the Lord daily is easy, pleasant, greatly rewarding and life-changing (Matt. 11:30; Prov. 13:21; 15:29; Job 5:20-27; Ps. 37:4). Learn more. We believe, as the Scripture reads, that we were created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, planning and preparing a path for us, that we should walk in (Eph. 2:10 AMPC). Learn more. We believe, as told in Scripture, that you cannot earn salvation by good works, because it is by grace we are saved and is a gift, however, as a result of this gift we are to demonstrate our repentance daily towards God, which requires a life of good works; living lives consistent with and worthy of repentance, therefore, proving to be His disciples. This is how we show our gratitude to God and is our moral obligation, therefore fulfilling the purpose for which God created us - to do good works and good deeds so people will recognize God in us and bring glory to His name (Eph. 2:8-10; Acts 26:20 AMPC; John 15:8; 1 John 2:6 AMP; Titus 2:11-14; 1 Peter 2:21; Matt 5:16 AMPC). Learn more. We believe, as the Bible tells us, that He sent His Son, as a physical example, to show us and prepare a path for us to follow, so we could overcome the world, as He did, by doing good and living a life of serving others (John 16:33; Psalm 37:27; Phil. 2:6-8; Mark 10:45; John 13:15). Learn more. We believe, as we read throughout the Bible, we are to be zealous for good deeds, an example of good deeds and ready for every good work, knowing God is glorified when we do good deeds for Him (Titus 2:14; 3:1, 14; Matt. 5:16). This life of well-doing is called the Way of righteousness in God’s word, and it defines how we are to live daily before the Lord (Matt. 21:32; 2 Peter 2:21). Learn more. We believe, as we are told in God’s word, that putting Jesus’ words into daily practice in our lives are the directions for repentance and eternal life (John 12:49-50; 8:51). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us, that how we love and serve God proves whether we are His disciples and sets His true disciples apart from those who claim to be (John 15:8; James 1:22; Tit. 1:16; Luke 6:46; Jer. 4:22; Ezek 33:31,32; Matt 7:21-23). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us, that as God reveals His word to us, we should obey it (Luke 6:47-48, James 4:17; Rom. 12:9-21, Deut 27:10; Ex. 24:7). Learn more. We believe, and are commanded in God’s word, that no one should add to or subtract from Jesus’ words (Rev. 22:18-19; Deut. 4:2; Mark 7:7). We believe, as told in the Bible, that pure religion undefiled is serving those in need on a daily basis for God and keeping ourselves unstained by the world (James 1:27). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us that Christ will return to this earth and that we will stand before Him and be judged by our deeds (Rev. 20:12). Learn more. We believe, as we are told in Scripture, that we are to stir up by way of reminder, the truth that Jesus came to teach, so that those He is calling may be provoked and stimulated to more love and good deeds and are encouraged to persevere. That through this encouragement, and continual reminder to study and apply God’s word, living out His Ways in their lives, they may become converted and prepared to meet the Lord, having overcome the flesh and put on Christ’s nature, therefore becoming pure of heart and able to recognize Christ, their Lord, when He returns (2 Pet. 1:13; Heb. 10:24 AMPC; Matt. 18:3 AMP; 5:8 AMP). Learn more. The Purpose of Whole Wheat Whole Wheat exists to make ready a people prepared to meet the Lord (Luke 1:17). In order to prepare people, they must know and understand God’s word. They must know what God’s Will is so they can do God’s Will in their lives and not be foolish (Rom. 12:2; Eph. 5:17). This is so they can walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects and build godly character (good fruit) by making all their works or deeds good before the Lord. Whole Wheat is also helping people to increase in the true knowledge of God from studying His word (Col. 1:10). The Whole Wheat is for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness. How can you equip yourself for every good work without studying the Bible, when it is God’s word that explains what these good works are (2 Tim. 3:16-17)? Whole Wheat is constantly provoking others to more love and good works (Heb. 10:24). It is constantly telling those who believe in God to be careful to engage in good works and that good works are something they must learn to do (Titus 3:8, 14). We are admonishing others to be examples of good works like Jesus was and to know God’s pure doctrine, which gives you dignity (Titus 2:7). We realize there are many in the world’s churches who remain worthless for any good deeds. As a result, they continue to live detestable and disobedient lives before God and therefore, deny Him daily, because they are not living like Him daily. Yet, they profess with their mouths that they know God (Titus 1:16). Through Whole Wheat, we are helping others to become doers of His word so they are in a saved condition and do not remain deluded (James 1:22). We are telling others to help those in need, whether they be orphans, widows, or whomever they are, because this is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of God (James 1:27; 1 John 3:18-19). We know that only the people who do good for God daily are of God (3 John 11). So, we are busy making wheat out of tares—whole wheat—disciples of Jesus Christ who are complete. The tares are simply those who never become doers of God’s word (Matt. 13:30). They are also referred to as goats in Matthew 25:33 and 41. We know that many have given their heart to the Lord and asked Him to be the Master of their life. They have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior. Many say that they have been born again and that their sins have been covered by the precious blood of Jesus. Some were baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, while others were baptized in the name of Jesus only. All of this means nothing if you don’t become a daily doer of God’s word by being a servant to others for the glory of God. Unless you are putting to death daily the evil deeds of the body and crucifying the flesh with its evil passions and desires, you have not received the true message of the gospel of Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:12-14; Gal. 5:24). There is more to being saved than just thinking you are saved. Have you worked out your salvation with fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12)? Have you counted the cost (Luke 14:28)? Have you put your hand to the plow (Luke 9:62)? Have you experienced being weary in doing good for others yet? It’s a wonderful feeling (2 Thess. 3:13; Gal. 6:9). Are you a mighty servant of others for God (Matt. 23:11)? Have you overcome the evil pulls of your nature by keeping Jesus’ deeds (Rev. 2:26)? Do you study God’s word on a regular basis? Have you received a love for the truth (God’s word) so as to be saved (2 Thess. 2:10)? Are you seeking or have you sought God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind yet (Matt. 22:37)? Are you relying on man to tell you the truth or are you being inspired by a man to go to God for salvation and to His word for the truth? You will only know that the truth is the truth when you practice the truth towards others by serving them (John 3:21; 7:17; Matt. 23:11). All of man’s problems come from living inward—for self. Jesus came to show us how to live outward lives by learning to be servants of others. God is waiting for many to become doers of His word so He can begin to bless them, change them and give them His new nature (Gal. 4:19). He wants to give us His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). Jesus came that you may have life and have it more abundantly. If this is not true in your life now, it can be if you prove that what you read on this Whole Wheat website is true and then put it into practice in your daily life. Now you know the purpose of Whole Wheat. In His service, Ron Brown What Does it Mean to be a Whole Wheat? The Story of Whole Wheat's Founder Ron Brown knew he had been chosen for a special purpose from the time he was a young boy. He saw a vision in the sky he would never forget and would point him on a path of seeking the Lord. For over forty years he would devote his life to God’s Ways and seeking out the truth of God’s Word and sharing it with others. He studied the Bible with perseverance and dedication, like he had for nothing else in his lifetime, literally eight to twelve hours a day almost every day of the week. He was a devoted student of the Lord and teacher. He knew there was more to God’s Word and God’s Will than just accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior. In his many years of study, the Lord showed him many things, including: His purpose in life How to be set free from religious captivity How to have his sins forgiven and live the blessed life How to imitate Jesus Christ and live by every word of God How to grow in godly character How to have peace and contentment How to receive answered prayer How to have success in life How to be a friend of God How to prosper and have hope for his future How to receive eternal life He began writing hundreds of articles, exhausting the subjects of the Bible. He was incredibly passionate and driven to share what God had revealed to him, because it changed his life. God used him in many ways, as he traveled all over the country preaching at churches, conventions, Bible studies, on television and in various groups. He met with many ministers of varying denominations and they were always shocked, amazed and flabbergasted at the truth he shared with them. They could not deny his message was from God. Through all of his travels he met so many different people in all parts of the world. They wanted more information, and a newsletter became a way to reach them. This newsletter was designed to help people live for God with the ease and simplicity that God had shown him. While pondering what to call the newsletter, he recalled an incident that had left a great impression on him: One day, a special man praying over Ron, whom he’d never met, was given an awesome and prophetic vision. As the man went to lay his hands on Ron, he suddenly jumped back and said, “Are you a minister of God?” Ron replied, “Yes, I am.” The man had felt the power of God’s Spirit in Ron. The man approached Ron again and looked up as he lay his hands on Ron. He expressed what he saw in a vision….sheaves of whole wheat. He saw many loaves of whole wheat bread stored up. He said, “The bread is stored up waiting to be given to the people.” Ron reflected on that prophetic vision and realized it represented all of the carefully researched Bible studies he had written over the years, with God's inspiration, stored up ready to be given out. He knew then that the newsletter would be called “Whole Wheat” (Matt 3:12). He published the newsletter for many years writing God’s wonderful and life-changing truth. His wife Karren, wrote articles for a column devoted to women in the newsletter. It has been sent all over the world to reach thousands of people over the years. Suddenly, in 1997, Ron passed away. Our family was left to continue the work he began; helping others by publishing this website and continuing to publish the Whole Wheat newsletter, so others can continue to benefit from this life-changing information and in turn, they can share it with others too. Ron and Karren were zealous servants who were dedicated to sharing this beautiful and simple truth that has changed so many lives. God bless their memory and the legacy of love they left behind for us. A Letter From Our Founder's Wife An awesome thing happened to me many years ago. I met a man like David, a man after God’s own heart. I did not idolize this man, but was awestruck at the degree to which he sought God. He was a man who’s greatest goal in life was to know God and be God’s friend. God had given this man other talents he could pursue, but he laid aside these physical desires to do the Will of the Lord, to become God's friend. God gave Ron a special role in life, to minster and teach others how to imitate Jesus Christ. He searched the Word of God and wrote daily, for many hours, to accomplish this. I knew wherever Ron was, he was serving the Lord by serving others. I had complete trust that was always true. Doing the Will of the Lord was the greatest joy of Ron’s life. Teaching others to serve the Lord, was His second greatest joy in life. He searched the heart of the Lord daily, to help himself and others, serve the Lord more completely. He depended on God’s Spirit to inspire, and tell him, what to write and speak to help others. He spoke of almost nothing else, than that of God’s Will and Ways, and the revelations that God had given him to share. I loved Ron because he loved God so much. He imitated Jesus Christ, in all his ways. The thing that made Ron the happiest was when those he taught, to live to please God daily in all their ways (words, actions, and thoughts) were blessed. That was God’s stamp of approval that they were living the abundant life. He was simply pleased if God would grant him the privilege to teach other men, revealing this mystery to the world as a witness. He did this all with humility, that came from years of pain and suffering, testing and trials, which, were necessary so God could make him ready to teach those whom He would call in the last days. However, God did show me, at one time, that Ron would not always physically be in our midst, to teach and encourage us. Let’s learn today what God wants us to learn, through this special man God has put in our lives for our good and salvation. This is God’s special man, a man after God’s own heart, Ron Brown. wholewheatonline.com Search The Truth About Heaven and Hell We have been taught from the time we were little children that the good people go to heaven and the wicked people go to hell. Those who go to heaven when they die are rejoined with loved ones. This teaching means we will never die. We have been told that hell is terrible, a place of eternal torment. There is fire there and people in hell burn forever and never die. The devil and his angels are there to torment those in hell day and night forever and ever. Hence, they never really die, but continue to live on and on and on. Some have claimed there is a spiritual prison in which all the dead are held under bondage until judgment. This, too, is a doctrine teaching that we will never die. It is a spiritual lie that cannot be proven true by the holy word of God. What does the God of the Bible say? Does the spirit live on after death? The word of God says, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die” (Ezek. 18:20). Yes, the soul can die. We are also instructed not to fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. Instead, we are told to fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (Matt. 10:28). So now we can see that souls can be killed by God. The Bible calls this the second death (Rev. 20:14; 21:8). People are subtly persuaded to believe they don’t really die. They are told they return to their angelic state when they die. Many who have fallen for this lie remain ignorant of God’s word. What does God’s true word say about what happens when you die? Your death is a sleep. All will be resurrected in the end. Did you hear? In the end! You do not go to heaven when you die. You sleep! Your spirit returns to God who gave it, but so does the sparrow’s spirit (Eccl. 12:7). God takes His Spirit away and you return to the dust. He sends forth His Spirit and you come alive again (Psalm 104:29-30; Ezek. 37:4-14). You cannot praise God in the grave because you cannot speak. God, who is true, says, in the very day you die, your thoughts perish (Eccl. 9:5, 10). The death of people is the same as animals ( Eccl. 3:19-20). So a man lies down and dies and does not rise until the heavens be no more (Job 14:12). The dead do not rise until when? Until the heavens be no more. That’s at the end of the age, at the return of Jesus Christ. The dead people will not rise nor be aroused out of their sleep. Job said he was going to wait in the grave until God called him and gave him a new body at the time of the resurrection (Job 14:14-15). When a man’s spirit departs, the word of God says, he returns to the earth, and in that very day, his thoughts perish. Do you believe God’s word (Psalm 146:4; 112:10)? The dead do not praise the Lord, nor do any who go down to silence (Psalm 115:17). At one point in time the dead are symbolically given white robes and told to rest for a little while longer (Rev. 6:9-10). This indicates they are resting now. These words are not cleverly devised tales (2 Peter 1:16). Jesus says that an hour is coming when all who are in the graves—not in heaven—shall hear His voice, and those who did the good works shall come forth to a resurrection of life (John 5:28-29; Rom. 2:7). Even King David, a man after God’s own heart, did not ascend to heaven (Acts 2:34). He is still in the grave, just as Jesus Christ said (Acts 2:29). No man has ascended to heaven. Now, Jesus wouldn’t lie, would He (John 3:13)? Only those who persevere in doing good will receive immortality or eternal life (Rom. 2:7). The Truth About Hell When Jesus Christ returns, He will create a lake of fire, which will be located in Jerusalem (Is. 31:9). The location could very well be in the valley of Gehenna, which is now a public park. The word Gehenna means hell. The first customer of the lake of fire will be the beast who has masqueraded as the returned Christ and given himself all the titles of Christ. This is the one whom the whole world will worship before Jesus Christ returns to the earth (Rev. 13:8). The second customer will be a man who made a statue in the likeness of this false christ and required everyone in the world to fall down and worship that statue or be put to death (Rev. 13:11-17). This religious deception is caused by God. All those who refuse the message of God’s simple truth so as to be saved will believe the false christ (2 Thess. 2:10-12; Rev. 17:17). Then, anyone who is not found in the book of eternal life will be cast into that same fire started by Jesus Christ at His return (Rev. 20:12-15). All whose deeds were righteous before God will be spared (Matt. 18:35; 15:8). But all whose deeds remained wicked and unrepentant will be destroyed, including those who do not practice righteousness for God or love their brother (1 John 3:10). They will be burned at the end of the age in the lake of fire and as they are burned, they will weep and gnash their teeth (Matt. 13:40-42). They will be totally destroyed forever—destroyed never to return again (Rev. 21:8; 2 Peter 3:7). They will be set ablaze and turned to ashes (Mal. 4:1-3). Remember, the word death means cessation of life or end. Eternal punishment is the end of spiritual life—the second death (Matt. 25:46). Satan will also be thrown into the lake of fire at a later time. “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Rev. 20:10—Notice, in many translations of the Bible, the word “are” is substituted for the original word “were”—past tense). The expression day and night forever is an extravagant way of saying for good, or forever. When trying to understand hell, many people are confused about the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. This was a parable—a riddle, an example—not an actuality. The rich man was being slowly burned with fire and was very thirsty. Lazarus was immortal. Now, since the rich man was mortal, there was a bridge between them. Lazarus was spiritual and the rich man was flesh. That bridge could not be crossed over by Lazarus (Luke 16:24). This parable emphasizes the importance of living for God now, while we have the opportunity. There is no second chance. The Truth About Heaven People believe their loved ones have gone to heaven already. What about Moses and Elijah in Matthew 17:4? That was a vision (Matt. 17:9). What about Paul? He didn’t know how he ascended, so how could you (2 Cor. 12:2)? He said only God knew what happened. It could have been a vision. What about Enoch? God took His Spirit out of Enoch’s body. Then God put Enoch’s spirit to sleep until the resurrection (Heb. 11:5). Remember, Jesus Christ was the first born of many brethren (Rom. 8:29; 1 Cor. 15:23). It is appointed once for all men to die, then comes the judgment (Heb. 9:27). Enoch is waiting to be born again (Heb. 11:39-40). God hid Enoch’s body, just as He hid Moses’ body, so men couldn’t build a building over it and use it to their advantage to further their own religions. The devil wanted Moses’ body to further his religious deception on this earth, and he argued with Michael for it (Jude 9). But God hid it from sight on Mount Nebo about 80 miles west of Jerusalem. What about Elijah? Approximately 12 years after Elijah was taken up in a chariot, he sent a letter to King Jehoram of Israel (2 Chron. 21:12-15). Remember, there are no thoughts in the grave, so if he died he could not have written the letter (Psalm 6:5). Elijah was still alive, but living elsewhere on this earth. He went into retirement. When Jesus was crucified, He died. If he didn’t die, then He lied. And if He died according to the Scripture, which cannot be broken, he had no thoughts in the grave. He went to sleep for three days and three nights. Jesus did not preach to the dead spirits of mortal men in prison. He had no thoughts in the grave. First Peter 3:18-19 says nothing about Jesus Christ preaching to somebody while He was in the grave. He had plenty of time to do that after He was resurrected and had a spiritual body. Incidentally, the “spirits now in prison” were the fallen angels of Jude 6, not dead humans. People in the churches have been lied to and most refuse to study their Bibles and ask God to show them His truth. They are afraid they might have to give up some cherished belief. They would rather put their trust in some man, even though the word of God continually warns them not to do that (Psalm 146:3; Is. 2:22). The Bible is not a private interpretation, but men from all ages have been moved by the Holy Spirit to write the words of God (2 Peter 1:20-21). God places a special curse on anyone who tampers with His words (Rev. 22:19). True disciples of Jesus Christ are warned not to be uninformed about those who are asleep (1 Thess. 4:13-17; 5:10). God does not want us to grieve, thinking we have no hope. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the trumpet of God. And those who died in Jesus Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Have you heard something different? Behold, I tell you a mystery, we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye (1 Cor. 15:51). When? At the last trumpet. When does the Bible say the last trumpet is (Rev. 11:15)? The trumpet will sound and the dead in Christ will be raised imperishable and we will be changed (1 Cor. 15:52). Many who profess to be followers of Christ are far removed from God’s true form of spiritual worship (John 4:24; Rom. 12:1; James 1:27; Psalm 37:27). The spiritual leaders of this world are leading people astray (Is. 3:12). Preachers are preaching on their own authority. God says He did not send them (Jer. 23:1, 11, 13-22). People love their false ministers, but what will they do in the end (2 Tim. 4:3-4; Jer 5:31)? We are admonished to prove all things by God’s word and to believe in only those things that can withstand the sure test of those Scriptures (2 Tim. 2:15). By knowing these truths, at least you have a choice about whether to stay deceived or not. Read your Bible and come out of religious deception once and for all! Seek the truth and it will set you free from being religiously misled (John 8:32). The Lord is with you when you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him. But if you forsake Him, He will forsake you forever (1 Chron. 28:9). PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- The Cure for Anxiety: A Woman to Woman Article | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search The Cure for Anxiety: A Woman to Woman Article Prices are going up and many people are finding it increasingly difficult to make ends meet. Is your life plagued with anxiety about the future? When the world is tumbling down all around us, we need to look to God and His words of instruction and wisdom. Matthew 6:33 tells us, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.” What does it mean to seek God’s kingdom? It is the opposite of what we seek in this world. In the world, we seek dollars first. We think money is the answer to our anxiety and problems. But how many people have lots of money and are still full of anxiety? The answer to our anxiety and problems is found in God’s word. His word is so revealing if we only have eyes to see it. Matthew 6:25 says, “Do not be anxious for your life.” Yes, the Lord tells us not to be anxious about the price of gas, the price of bread, or even the price of homes. Luke 12:29 says, “Do not keep on worrying.” These are words from Jesus Christ Himself. It’s time to pay attention to God’s word and get our minds and lives in order. What a waste of time it is to worry about things we cannot change. It’s time to obey God and live each day with a happy heart. God has the birds and animals instinctively doing His Will daily. They do not fret or worry about what will happen to them, but sing happy songs from the tree tops and they make happy sounds on the ground because our heavenly Father feeds them and cares for them (Matt. 6:26). By nature, we are all worrywarts because we do not trust that things will go right in our lives. However, if we know and live by the Ways of the Lord, we are assured in our hearts that the Lord will take care of us. Let’s cast all our anxiety on Him, our ultimate problem solver (1 Peter 5:7). All we need to do is perform God’s Will daily in all we think, do and say. He will take care of all our needs (Matt. 6:10-11). This is how we seek God’s kingdom first and practice His righteousness in our daily walk with Him. - "Because of God's grace, works are not necessary.” | WHOLE WHEAT
"Because of God's grace, works are not necessary.” MISCONCEPTION: Because we are saved by God's grace there is nothing else required for salvation. Many believe we are saved by grace through faith, and not a result of works, that anyone should boast. THE TRUTH IS: This is only half true, and not the complete message. The world quotes Ephesians 2:8-9, omitting verse 10. This omission makes the subject of works incomplete. Ephesians 2:10 states we were created for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Repentance requires a life of good works, as Jesus gave us example of. Also, Titus 3:5-7 is quoted out of context by many to discourage doing good works, when verse 8 specifically states that true ministers of God are to constantly remind those who say they believe in God to be careful to engage in good works. Titus 3:14 and 2:7, 14 are proof that the book of Titus is literally a book that encourages those who follow Jesus Christ to be rich in good works for God. Titus 1:16 mentions those who are traveling the religious broad way that leads to destruction. They remain worthless for good works for God and as a result, continue to live detestable and disobedient lives before God. Jesus was zealous for good deeds for the glory of the Father and this is what He commanded those who would follow Him to do (Matt. 5:16; Titus 2:14). If you don’t or won’t do this, you deny Jesus Christ in your life. Repentance requires a life of doing good for God, if we are to receive the free gift of salvation. Let’s say it like it is. Jesus’ faith had works of righteousness. He glorified the Father in heaven by these works of righteousness that He did daily to please the Father. He instructed those who would follow Him and be His true disciples to do the same (Matt. 5:16). These works are to be done by practicing righteousness or acts of love daily towards others for God (Matt. 6:1; 25:40). This is how to love your neighbor as yourself. When Jesus resurrects all who are in their graves, only those who had good works will come to a resurrection of eternal life (John 5:29; Rom. 2:7). Why then would the world’s ministers discourage many from having any good works? - How to Do God’s Will With Your Body | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Do God’s Will With Your Body As a disciple of Jesus Christ, you are to regard your body as the temple, or place where God lives (John 14:23; 1 Cor. 3:16; 6:19-20). One way you can serve God with your body is to take good care of it. Put good things into your body, which will keep the building strong. Exercise to continually maintain the temple. Keep your breath smelling sweet and dress God’s temple in clothes of quality and good taste. Keep your hair looking nice and trimmed (1 Cor. 11:14). You are in training to be a king and a priest, so it is necessary that you live a quality life, to the degree that you can, and as God has blessed you (Rev. 1:6; 5:10). Never forget, you are God’s showpiece on this earth. Let your good taste, your good actions and your good words be a 10,000-watt light on this earth (Matt. 5:16; Luke 12:35; Phil. 2:15). Set your goal high. This way, if you do not reach it, you will have reached a higher plateau than if you had set your goal low, or worse yet, set none at all. Live just as God lives. God is continually doing acts of kindness and charity to those in need (Acts 9:36). God is kind, loving, generous and giving (Gal. 5:22). He loves His enemies. He does good to those who hate Him. God cares about the widows, orphans, fatherless, sick, lame, blind, old and feeble (James 1:27; Luke 14:13; Psalm 138:6; Prov. 19:17). In order to please God, we must be careful to engage in good deeds or works (Titus 3:8). This is something we must learn to do and not get weary in doing (Titus 3:14; 2 Thess. 3:13). God is glorified by good works and we are to glorify Him in everything we do, whether at home or for our employer (Col. 1:10; 3:17). We are to commit all our ways to God, not just some. Ask yourself these questions: What am I doing daily with my eyes, ears, mind, mouth or body which does not please God and is not glorifying His name? What am I continuing to do that could be a stumbling stone to someone watching me? God says He will pay you back for all the good you do in the name of Christ for His glory (Eph. 6:8). His blessings are distributed daily. Is your life a blessed one? What must you do to order your ways aright so God can begin to bless you (Psalm 50:22-23)? Are you a continual doer of God’s words or a continual forgetful hearer (James 1:22)? Are you keeping Christ’s words, which is doing God’s Will (John 12:47-48; 1 John 2:17)? If not, are you ever going to start? If you start, are you going to endure until Christ’s new nature is formed in you (Gal. 4:19; 6:15; 2 Cor. 13:9, 11)? Remember, quitters never win but winners never quit. When you put your hand to the plow, do not look back at a life of swearing, getting drunk, living an immoral life and continuing to crave those things that are not good. Instead, crave those things that are good and show God your allegiance is to Him and not Satan. - How to Be An Overcomer | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Be An Overcomer The Bible says human nature is not good (Jer. 17:9; Gen. 8:21). Therefore, we are told to consider the old self as dead if we are to make headway as disciples of Jesus Christ (Rom. 6:11). God, in His wisdom, knew that if we were to come out of evil, we would have to have something good to do. So, He has told us in His word to overcome our evil natures by doing good (Rom. 12:21). The Apostle Paul also admonished those who were believers to engage in good deeds because these things are good and profitable (Titus 3:8). Doing good is the way we produce fruit for God, and thus, prove ourselves to be true disciples of Jesus Christ (Titus 3:14). John 15:8 says, "By this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples." We see, then, that we glorify the Father when we bear fruit. Good works are represented by the expression "fruit." We can see this by reading Matthew 5:16 - "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." and Colossians 1:10 - "…so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God." We could keep one of the sayings of Christ by practicing hospitality (Luke 14:13). We could have the poor, the crippled and the blind over for dinner some evening when we invite our friends. This would allow us to express God’s love in our hearts toward others and glorify our Father in heaven. Jesus Christ gave us a precious list of things we could do in Matthew 25:33-40 and in the teachings of the Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew chapters 5, 6 and 7. Since Jesus Christ is making a peculiar people who are purified and zealous for good deeds, don’t you think we should be doing some good works (Titus 1:10; 2:7, 14; 3:8)? Jesus took on the form of a servant, leaving us an example, that we should be servants, too. Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for good deeds (1 Peter 3:13)? No one, because that is what makes you a friend of God (John 15:14)! PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International

- The Biblical Definition of Idolatry | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search The Biblical Definition of Idolatry Surprising as it may be, Webster’s Dictionary agrees with God’s word when it says any object (symbol or representation) that is used for worship (religious reminder) is an idol. It is any object of extreme devotion. This would include pictures, crosses, statues or any form of religious symbolism such as the use of birds, fishes, animals or insects as religious reminders (Deut. 4:15-19). Noah Websters 1828 Dictionary agrees with the Scripture and expounds even more than the traditional dictionary to state that an idol is: an image, form or representation, usually of a man or other animal, consecrated as an object of worship; a pagan deity. Idols are usually statues or images, carved out of wood or stone, or formed of metals, particularly silver or gold. It also says; Idolatry is of two kinds; the worship of images, statues, pictures, etc. made by hands; and the worship of the heavenly bodies, the sun, moon and stars, or of demons, angels, men and animals. But these are not the only definitions of idolatry. Noah Websters Dictionary also states that idolatry is any thing on which we set our affections; that we indulge an excessive attachment to. Think about what things in your life might fall under that category. The Bible says anything that keeps you from doing what God says you should do is an idol or anything you put ahead of God (Col. 3:5). The whole armor of God is Bible study, prayer and continually living the life of doing good for God’s glory (Eph. 6:13). God wants you to live for Him each day by studying His word, praying to him and living your life to please Him (2 Tim. 2:15; Prov. 15:8; Eph. 5:10). Anything that stops you from doing so is an idol. Anything that comes between you and what God wants you to do daily is idolatry. Remember, stubbornness is the same sin as witchcraft in God’s eyes (1 Sam. 15:23). Finally, idolatry is anything that exalts itself. It is anything that makes itself more important than what God has said in His word you should do (Ex. 20:3). In short, you should not make excuses, or provisions, for failing to do what God has instructed you to do daily (Phil. 2:3; Jer. 7:23-24). If God said it, that should settle it. What man says in opposition to God’s word should not be followed, for it too is idolatry (Acts 5:29). - How to Be a Good Person | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Be a Good Person Our Father in heaven wants us to be good sons and daughters for Him. He wants us to respect Him. He wants us to love Him wholeheartedly (Deut. 6:5). He wants us to stop swearing, so we will not bring curses upon ourselves. He wants us to stop dwelling on what is evil, because those evil thoughts will eventually become evil actions. He wants us to practice moderation in all things, because He does not want us to hurt ourselves. He wants us to do good things that help us, instead of bad things that can harm us (Deut. 6:18, 24). He wants us to stay out of trouble, by engaging in good and productive things (Titus 3:14). What better way could there be, to do good things, than to help those who are in need? By helping the blind, the lame, the sick and the elderly, we learn to care for others in need (Luke 14:13-14; 10:37). We learn to be sensitive to the needs of others. We learn compassion, forgiveness, patience, kindness, goodness, joy, faithfulness, gentleness, and most of all, how to love our neighbor. These are the fruits of the Spirit, which come from serving others in a godly way every day (Gal. 5:22-24). Remember, the greatest in the kingdom will be the servant of the most (Matt. 25:33-40; 23:11; Mark 9:35; 10:43-44)! - Am I My Brother's Keeper? | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Am I My Brother's Keeper? Cain asked, "Am I my brother’s keeper?" (Gen. 4:9). Was Jesus Christ His brother’s keeper? Did Jesus take care of His brothers who were in need of clothes, food or shelter? Did He come to the aid of widows in distress? Was He a father to the orphan? Did He give to the poor (John 13:29)? Yes! Jesus was His brother’s keeper. We, too, are to be our brother’s keeper by imitating Jesus Christ in our daily behavior (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1). We are to practice being kind to one another. We are to practice hospitality to one another (1 Peter 4:9). We are to practice godliness toward one another. We are to conform ourselves to godliness by practicing the deeds of Jesus Christ (1 Tim. 4:7). We are to overcome and put to death our old self by zealously living as Jesus did until He makes us new creatures, complete in Christ (Rev. 2:26; Col. 1:28). We allow Him to do this by striving, persevering and being zealous for doing good deeds in His name because we love Him (Luke 13:24; 21:19; Rev. 3:10; Col. 3:17; John 14:15; 1 John 5:3). We prove our love for God by serving Him with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength (John 15:8; Luke 10:27; Matt. 22:37). We prove our love for Him by being slaves to righteousness and doing the Will of God from the heart (Rom. 6:13, 18-19; Eph. 6:6). We prove it by the way we live. Yes, we are our brother’s keeper when we serve our neighbors first, before self (1 Cor. 10:24). One of the main messages in the new covenant of Jesus Christ is serving others (Matt. 20:26-28; 23:11; Mark 9:35; 10:43-45; Luke 9:48; Rom. 15:2-3). Dorcas was used as an example for those who would follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ (Acts 9:36). She was her brother’s keeper because she served others daily for Jesus Christ (Acts 9:39). Jesus Christ Himself said that only those who have good works will come to a resurrection of life, so don’t you think it is time we start to imitate Him and be our brother’s keeper (John 5:29)? We need to overcome evil by continually doing good, as Jesus said we should (Psalm 34:14; 37:27; Rom. 2:7; 12:21; 1 Peter 3:10-11; Rev. 2:26). Then, when we, like Jesus, live only to do good, we will be living as we should and we will be our brother’s keeper, for either we become our brother’s keeper or we remain of the evil one, like Cain (1 John 3:12). - Loving Your Neighbor | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Loving Your Neighbor Everyone knows they should love their neighbor as themselves and that it is the second greatest commandment of God (Matt. 22:39). It is called the royal law in God’s word in James 2:8 (Luke 10:27). The whole law of God is fulfilled in this one word, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Gal. 5:14; Rom. 13:9). Many songs have been written about loving your neighbor. “What the world needs now is love sweet love,” go the words of one song. But this is what is not realized by many today—it is physically impossible to love your neighbor with human nature. Man’s inhumanity, towards man, has never been greater. The proof is: Look at the sad shape the world is in today. Everywhere you look, there is violence. What few know or realize is that Jesus Christ came to this earth to show us how to love our neighbor, but with His Spirit within us. It is done through living spiritual lives with God’s Spirit in us and no longer living to the flesh with its evil passions and desires (Gal. 5:24). Jesus came to show us how we could get rid of our old natures by rending our hearts to the Lord and getting rid of the old leaven, which represents sin in our lives, and thus, be able to truly love our neighbors (Joel 2:12-13). This is done by practicing loving service to others, practicing righteousness and charity towards others continually (acts of love—acts of kindness), and living to do only good to others for God and no longer doing evil towards others. We are no longer to live for self, but for others by putting them first, living to be servants of others, and thus, have the peace that comes from doing so (Matt. 23:11). You then have the peace of knowing you’re living like Jesus Christ gave you example to live and as a result, you are at peace with your Maker. As you practice doing good for others daily, God Himself teaches you how to love one another with His Spirit (1 Thess. 4:9). This process of loving others is how we purify our souls for God (1 Peter 1:22). This is the message we have heard from the beginning, that we are to love one another by serving one another from the heart (1 John 3:11; 2 John 4-6). This is how we are truly born again or born of God, and how God’s love is perfected in us (1 John 4:7, 12). This is how we become new creatures or creations (2 Cor. 5:17). This is also how we crucify the flesh with its evil passions and desires and live to the Spirit, which is the Lord (Gal. 5:24; Rom. 8:12-13; 2 Cor. 3:17). Living by your own ways and thinking your own thoughts is not good (Is. 65:2). It seems right, but it is not (Prov. 14:12; 16:25). God never meant for man to direct his own steps (Jer. 10:23). From the very beginning God has told man to live by every word of God and walk in His Ways. We are to live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord (Deut. 8:3). It is God who defines what is good and what is evil (Deut. 1:39). It is God who teaches man the Way he should live and how to love his neighbor as himself (Psalm 32:8; 143:8; Jer. 42:2-3; Eph. 2:10). A time is coming soon when great calamities will happen on this earth to all mankind, and unless those days were cut short, no life would be left on the earth (Matt. 24:21-22; Mark 13:19-20). God prophesied in Deuteronomy 4:3 that all these things would come upon the world in the latter days. People would then begin to return to the Lord and listen to His voice by studying His word for His truth, and begin to put it into practice in their daily lives. You can do so now by following these simple directions. Repent and turn to the Lord by doing acts of kindness daily towards others. Educate yourself with the articles on our website about baptism. Then once you understand the commitment involved in, be baptized as Jesus Christ was, when He was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River (Matt. 3:13). This baptism represents the death of the old self with its sinful ways and the beginning of a new Way of life—the Way of righteousness—the Way of the Lord (Matt. 21:32; Acts 18:25). Ask God to give you His Holy Spirit and remember, He gives His Spirit only to those who obey Him by living like Him continually (Luke 11:13; Acts 5:32; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 John 1:6-7). You are now on your way. You are ready to love your neighbor as yourself by serving Him daily. Don’t forget, everyone who crosses your path is your neighbor. This Way is easy, pleasant and light (Matt. 11:30). God made sure it would be this way so that even the lowliest of people and uneducated could understand and live it. When calamities come, you may be found worthy and be rescued if and when necessary (Dan. 12:1; Mal. 3:16-17; Luke 21:36 King James Version). Take this precious opportunity and begin today. In these last days, the Lord has made provision for you to come directly to Him and ask Him for His Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13). Now you know how to love your neighbor as yourself, as well as how to show God love by doing so. The next step is yours. Always remember—God is watching us from a distance. - Overindulgence | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Overindulgence There are many forms of overindulgence. It can be with alcohol, food, sports, exercise, sex, money, or even thinking too much. It can occur in a variety of different ways with a variety of different things (Gal. 5:19-21). It is anything that is out of balance or not done in moderation. For example, the pagans of long ago who were worshiping Satan knowingly or unknowingly, practiced overindulgence in their orgiastic feasts. We have all heard of how they used to stuff themselves with food, and then, tickle their throats with a feather, which would make them regurgitate the food they had just eaten. They did this so they could start over and eat more (Phil. 3:19; 1 Cor. 10:31; Prov. 23:2). When we were in the flesh, we were all ignorant of God and His righteous Ways that He desired us to live. As a result, we were living in the flesh to please the flesh, whether it was eating, drinking or thinking. It was whatever we made excuse for in our lives, that was out of balance. These things can become idols, and we don’t even realize it. Idolatry is simply excessive attachment or devotion to anything in our lives. When we are in the flesh, we have no reason strong enough for us to want to practice self-control, have balance or moderation in our lives (Rom. 8:5,13). Then we discovered the truth, when God revealed His word to us through His Holy Spirit. It was revealed to us that we should practice godliness daily by living for God, who is the Spirit. It was revealed to us that we should discipline ourselves for the purpose of godliness daily if we were to be pleasing to God and thus be blessed by Him (Rom. 8:9). God and His Ways are to be first in our lives now, above all else. If we, then, would stop living to the flesh and indulging in the flesh with all its corrupt desires, and only live for God or the Spirit, He would give us His Spirit of power so that nothing could stand in our way. We would be putting to death all those areas in our lives that are in excess. Sin would no longer have dominion over our bodies because of God’s indwelling Spirit, which He gives only to those who are trying to obey Him (Col. 3:5). We would then come out of condemnation because we would be on the path of recovery, reconciliation and self-control (Gal. 5:22-23). Wouldn’t it be something if God blessed a person with every good thing and he died of being overweight, because he refused to tell himself “NO” in that area of his life? Ask God to help you shed a few pounds, and He will do it (Mark 10:27). If you try, God will supply. Continually do what you can, and then God can come in to give you what you are lacking. This goes for anything you are struggling with, or having a hard time overcoming in your life. Learn to fast for God to receive more strength. It is truly a meaningful way to humble yourself before God and ask for His help (Matt. 6:16; Is. 58:5-6). God has chosen fasting to break every yoke, every sin, every bad habit that is holding us in bondage. It is a spiritual resource He has given us in His Word, to draw close to Him, especially in times of need. We were called when we were sinners (Mark 2:17). Living the repentant Way, we can easily overcome everything that exalts itself against Jesus Christ our Savior, our Redeemer, our sustainer, our everything! With His Spirit we can overcome the world like Jesus gave us example to do (John 16:33). Then we won’t be hurt in the second death or have our names erased from the book of life (Rev. 2:11; 3:5). If we endure to the end, keeping Jesus Christ’s works, we will rule the nations of this earth with Him when He returns (Rev. 2:26-27). Jesus wants us to overcome the same Way He overcame—by keeping His works. He even said many of us would do greater works than He did (John 14:12). These are the works that God the Father gave His Son to do on this earth so He could be our example. Jesus’ sayings are God’s Will. That is why we are to keep them if we are to never die (John 8:51). wholewheatonline.com Search Study to Show Yourself Approved Part of the Will of God is to study the Bible (2 Tim. 2:15). Many who study the Bible, study for information rather than correction. Disciples of Jesus Christ are admonished not to be foolish, but understand what the Will of God is (Eph. 5:17). It appears that people who claim to be His disciples today are least informed about this aspect of spiritual and godly living (Col. 1:9). God’s word says that all Scripture is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction and training in how to practice righteousness, so that the man of God may know how to do good to please God (1 John 2:29; Matt. 5:16; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). How many people have studied the life of Christ for many years, but have never started to live like Him? We are to imitate Jesus Christ and the Father by daily practicing the sayings of Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1; 3 John 11). Jesus’ words will judge all humanity at the end of the age (John 12:47-48). Just being a Bible scholar does not justify a person, but being a doer of the word does (2 Tim. 3:7; Rom. 2:13; James 1:22; Luke 6:46). Jesus Christ made Himself perfectly clear about practicing righteousness. We are to perform the Father’s Will in our daily lives, as it is done in heaven (1 John 2:17; John 7:17; Matt. 6:10). Jesus says to do as He says, keep His word, walk in His commandments and act upon His sayings (Luke 8:21; 11:28; 6:47-48; 2 John 6; Matt. 7:24). The central teaching of the Bible is to engage in a life of good deeds, endure and not become weary in well-doing, and overcome our evil natures by doing good deeds (Titus 3:8; 2 Thess. 3:13; Heb. 10:36; Gal. 6:9; Rom. 2:7; 12:21; 6:18-19). If this is the kind of peculiar people Christ is making for Himself—and He is—we should then be studying the Bible to train ourselves in righteousness (Titus 2:14). As we keep the sayings of Jesus Christ and study to show ourselves approved to God, we will always be ready with the right answer, and ready to lead many to righteousness (Matt. 5:19; 1 Peter 3:15; Dan. 12:3). - The Benefits of Repentance | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search The Benefits of Repentance God has promised many good things to those who repent and live to please Him every day in all they think, do, and say (2 Chron. 16:9). There are many ways we can please God in our daily lives. We please God when we hold no ill-will toward our fellow man (1 Cor. 13:5). God commands us never to pay back evil for evil but do good to those who mistreat us (Prov. 20:22; Luke 6:35; Matt. 5:44). Never argue with anyone since that, too, is a form of paying back evil for evil (Titus 2:9; 1 Tim. 6:4). Living a charitable life, serving others in need and just showing love to everyone at all times, is living a repentant life before God (1 Cor. 13:2; Matt. 25:33-40). God blesses us tremendously when we truly repent. If you repent, God will: • Forgive your sins (Acts 2:38). • Answer your prayers (1 John 3:22; James 1:6). • Heal your diseases (Matt. 4:23). • Make sure you have food and clothes (1 Tim. 6:8). • Protect you from harm and protect your possessions (Prov. 12:21). • Protect you in war (Job 5:20). • Feed you in times of famine (Prov. 10:3). • Give you eternal life (Gal. 6:8). • Reward you double for all you do for Him on earth in Jesus Christ’s name (Zech. 9:12). • Repay your enemies (Heb. 10:30). • Bless you in all that you put your hand to do (Gen. 17:6). • Be your friend (John 15:14). • Perfect you in all your ways (1 Peter 5:10). • Allow you to live longer (Prov. 10:27; 2 Kings 20:5-6). • Resurrect you when He returns and give you a glorified body (1 Cor. 15:52). • Bring you a suitable mate (Gen. 24:7, 12-19). • Bless your children (Prov. 14:26; Is. 44:3). • Give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4). • Give you abundance (Luke 6:38; Mal. 3:10). • Promote you in your career and give you power to get wealth (Eccl. 5:19). • Protect you when you stumble (1 Pet. 1:4-6). • Make your enemies be at peace with you (Prov. 16:7). • Make a way where there is no way (Mark 10:27). The list could go on and on. The more zealous we become in serving God, the more He blesses us. Yes, He will test our motives for doing good to make sure we are not doing good for selfish reasons (Matt. 6:1). Our repentance must come from our hearts and when it does, the blessings come pouring down from the Father above (Mal. 3:10; Luke 6:38)! God’s Ways of repentance are truly easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30).❑ PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- God Wants Us to Be Good | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search God Wants Us to Be Good The words of a familiar song say, "He knows when you’ve been sleeping, he knows when you’re awake, he knows when you’ve been bad or good so be good for goodness sake." Yes, we constantly are telling our children to be good, but why? Good things happen to good people. The word of God says, "If the righteous are rewarded in the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!" (Prov. 11:31). Psalm 125:4 says, "Do good, oh Lord, to those who are good." Yes, God wants children to be good. He tells little children not to let anyone deceive them, that the one who practices righteousness is righteous, even as God is righteous (1 John 3:7). He also tells the little children not to love with the words of their mouths only, but with good deeds. By this, they will know they are of the truth and be sure in their hearts that they are God’s friends (1 John 3:18-19). God wants little children to live as Jesus Christ gave them example to live, so that when He returns, they will have confidence and not shrink away in shame. God’s word tells you how to abide in Him. It says, "If you know that Jesus Christ is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness [daily] is born of Him" (1 John 2:28-29). You must, however, do all that you do in word or deed in the name of Jesus Christ, as happy slaves of Jesus Christ (Col. 3:17). You must do Gods Will - which is righteousness - from the heart (Eph. 6:6). By this you know that you love the children of God, when you love God and practice or do His commandments; and they are not hard to keep (1 John 5:2-3). You keep them by continually doing things that are pleasing in God’s sight (1 John 3:22). If you are to walk with God, then you must walk in His commandments, just as you have heard from the beginning that you should walk in them (2 John 6). You walk in His commandments by practicing righteousness - by being careful to engage in good deeds (Titus 3:8). This is something you are going to have to learn to do (Titus 3:14). But realize this, whatever good you do, this you will receive back from the Lord (Eph. 6:8). When all you sow is righteousness, all you will reap is blessings, for God is not unjust, so as to forget your work, and the love which you have shown toward His name (Gal. 6:7; Heb. 6:10). - Charity Defined | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Charity Defined Now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. For charity shall cover a multitude of sins. —1 Corinthians 13:13 (King James Version). Jesus Christ was continually going about telling others about the true message of salvation. Many times, however, He would tell the message of the kingdom of God in parable form because He did not want people to know the message (Matt. 13:11, 14-17, 35; Mark 4:33-34). One such parable is found in Luke 11:41. Jesus told the Pharisees the true gospel in parable form. A parable is a riddle, a dark saying (Ezek. 17:2; Psalm 78:2) or a figurative language (John 16:25). Jesus said in Luke 11:41, “Give that which is within to charity, and then all things are clean for you.” Let’s say it in plain language instead of in a mystery form or a figurative language. “Make yourself a new heart, one that is charitable, and I will forgive all your sins. Continually do good to please Me and I will make you clean by forgiving your sins.” Remember, the Pharisees did their righteousness out in the open to be seen of men, so they would be thought of as righteous. Jesus said you must do your righteousness in secret from within, and glorify your Father in heaven by your good works. Charity covers a multitude of sins and makes you clean (1 Peter 4:8). Charity is serving the poor, the needy, the lame, the blind, the elderly, the widow and the orphan. Charity is helping those who need clothes, those who need money, those who need help, those who need love or compassion. All these things and more are covered by the word charity. What does Webster’s Dictionary have to say about charity? Webster’s New International Dictionary, 1909 says: Charity, n.;1. Christian love; of the New Testament; a. the divine love to man; b. Human love to God and one’s neighbor. Christian love of one’s fellow men; Christian benevolence; 2. More generally, love; benevolence; good will; affection; an act or feeling of affection or benevolence. 3. Liberality or lenience in judging of men and their actions; a disposition that inclines men to put the best construction on the words and actions of others. The highest exercise of charity is charity toward the uncharitable. 4. Good will to the poor and suffering; liberality to the poor, to benevolent institutions, or to worthy causes; generosity; charitableness; alms giving; hence; the public provision for the care or relief of the poor. 5. Acts or works of benevolence to the poor. 6. Whatever is bestowed gratuitously on the needy or the suffering for their relief; alms. After reading these definitions of the word charity, look up 1 Corinthians 13. In the many translations of the Bible, “love” has been corruptly substituted for the word “charity.” If you look up the Greek word translated “love” (Strong’s Concordance reference no. 26) in The Englishman’s Greek Concordance of the New Testament, you will discover it is often translated “charity” in the King James Version. A few examples are 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, Colossians 3:14, 2 Timothy 3:10 and Titus 2:2. It’s evident when you look at the dictionary definitions of charity that charity is all God ever expected from anyone who would profess His name. God would live a life full of charity if He were walking among us in the flesh today. This is how we are to live on earth and imitate Him as He lives in heaven (Eph. 5:1). This is how God’s Will is done on this earth as it is in heaven (Matt 6:10). Very simple, but simply not known, not preached, or not practiced by the majority of those who proclaim to be disciples of Jesus Christ (Luke 6:46). - Feeling Bad? | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Feeling Bad? How many people do you know who feel bad about things (Matt. 11:28-30)? They feel bad because they do not have more money. They feel bad about the cars they drive and the houses in which they live. They feel bad about their neighbors. They feel bad because they are on the heavy side or too thin. They look in the mirror and say, "If I only had dark hair, a prettier nose, or was taller…" White people spend hours in the sun to turn a golden brown. Sometimes dark-skinned people use a cream to lighten their skin. Human beings are never satisfied. They are overcome by their anxieties. One minute they are up and the next minute they are down. One minute they feel like throwing in the towel, the next minute they say, "I have no problems. I would be perfectly all right if it were not for those good for nothing…" Why do those who profess to be Christians continue to live to the flesh, when it is so easy to live to the Spirit and feel good about everything (Gal. 5:16, 25)? The word of God tells us to seek peace and earnestly pursue it (1 Peter 3:11). It says, "Whatever is peaceful, lovely and good, think on these things." (Phil. 4:8-9). Disciples of Jesus Christ have bad moments, not bad days! When we do good works to glorify the Father, as Jesus commanded us to do, we allow the Father to form Jesus Christ’s nature within us (Rom. 2:6-8; Matt. 5:16; Gal. 4:19). We may even do greater works than Jesus did, because He had to return to the Father (John 14:12). We overcome our natures by keeping the works of Jesus Christ (Rev. 2:26). We discipline ourselves according to godliness by imitating God and by doing His works, which are good works (1 Tim. 4:7; Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1; Matt. 25:33-46). Jesus died so we could be free of guilt. When we live to please Him, we no longer need to feel guilty or have bad days. Instead, we will only have bad moments, which never turn into bad days because we cast all our cares into God’s lap. God said He will provide us with everything if we practice His righteousness and seek His kingdom first (Matt. 6:33; Rom. 10:3). So have a good day! - Do We Automatically Do Good? | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Do We Automatically Do Good? Many well-meaning Christians are waiting for God to push a button, so to speak, to make them willing servants of others. They think that God will give them the desire to serve others, and that just having God's Spirit will automatically catapult them into a life of good deeds for Christ. Meanwhile, God keeps waiting and waiting and waiting for them to start their new life in Christ. Many of these same people feel that if you force yourself to do good works for God, you are engaging in self-righteous works and are trying to gain your salvation by doing good works. What's really going on? What does the Bible have to say? Let's find out. The Bible says you glorify the Father by doing good works (Matt. 5:16). You enter the kingdom of heaven with righteous works (Matt. 5:20). Jesus Christ told His true followers that they would do more works for God than He did (John 14:12). Being zealous for good works is part of putting on the full armor of God (1 Peter 3:13; Eph. 6:11). By keeping Christ's works, you overcome your nature and put on Jesus Christ's righteous nature (Rev. 2:26). In the Bible, believers are cautioned against becoming weary in doing good works (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13). The apostles told believers to engage in good works (Titus 3:8). They stressed that it was something they would have to learn to do (Titus 3:14). It would not come automatically. They would have to strive, be diligent and persevere in doing these good works (Luke 13:24; Heb. 4:11; 10:24; Rom.2:6-7). They were told to be hot, zealous, or enthusiastic for good works (Rev. 3:15; Titus 2:14). Even the rich were told to be rich in good works (1 Tim. 6:17-18). It was a requirement for widows (1 Tim. 5:10). It was what disciples of Jesus Christ continually did (Acts 9:36; 10:2). Paul forced his body into subjection so that he would become a willing slave to righteousness (1 Cor. 9:27; Rom. 6:18-19). He was a slave to Jesus Christ, doing God's righteous works from the heart (Eph. 6:6). He knew that doing righteous works would allow God to crush his old satanic nature under his heel (Rom. 16:20). He understood how to force his way into the kingdom (Luke 16:16; 17:21, KJV). And, by resting from all works of the flesh, he entered God's rest and found inner peace (Heb. 4:10). Satan is the enemy of all who would practice righteousness for God or who live as God lives. Satan preaches against any form of good works done for God's glory so that people will continue to be held captive by him, doing his will instead of doing God's Will as it is being done in heaven on a daily basis (2 Tim. 2:26; Matt. 6:10). Don't be religiously deceived. You will know Jesus Christ's followers by their works (Matt. 7:20-21). God's word says even Satan's ministers will be judged by their works, whether they like it or not (2 Cor. 11:15). How blessed are those who practice righteousness at all times (Psalm 106:3). - Why Serve the Lord? | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Why Serve the Lord? Is the Almighty pleased if you are righteous? Is there any profit if you make your ways perfect? Psalm 37:27 says you will live forever. Zephaniah 2:3 says you may be hidden in the day of the Lord's anger. Revelation 3:10 says that God will keep you from the hour of testing if you pray always that you may be found worthy to escape all the things that are about to come upon humanity in these last days (Luke 21:36, King James Version). Remember, we will win our souls through perseverance in doing good (Luke 21:19; Titus 2:7, 14). We must strive to live like Jesus Christ, our example of good works, who is the narrow door (Luke 13:24; John 10:9). Only the sheep enter that door (John 10:3; Luke 12:32). These true disciples serve others for Jesus Christ, as He has commanded (Matt. 25:33-40; 1 Cor. 10:24). Jesus Christ says, "You are My friends if you keep My words and do the Will of God" (John 8:51; 12:47-48; 1 John 2:17; Matt. 7:21). You must be willing to do God's Will to be Jesus Christ's brother (John 7:17; Matt. 12:50). This means you must hear Christ's sayings and do them daily (Luke 8:21; James 1:22, 25). You must act on them, observe them and keep them (Matt. 7:24; Luke 11:28; 1 Peter 4:2; Rom. 12:2). Don't be foolish or remain ignorant, but understand the Will of the Lord and do it, think it and speak it (Eph. 5:17). Then your prayers will be answered (John 15:7, 16; 16:23-24). When you show respect for God and do those things that are pleasing in His sight, nothing shall be impossible to you, including the healing of sicknesses (John 9:31; 1 John 3:22; 5:14-15; Matt. 21:22; 17:20; Luke 1:37; James 5:15-17, 20). You will have an abundant life, filled with joy and every good thing (John 10:10; 17:13). What does it profit to serve the Lord? Serving the Lord will result in answered prayers, the abundant life and having sicknesses healed, plus you will receive the free gift of eternal life, which could never be earned. If you are not presently serving the Lord by serving others in words and deeds for God's glory, you may say you are rich and in need of nothing, but you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked (Col. 3:17; Rev. 3:17). Be saved from this perverse, wicked and sinful generation and turn, every one of you, from your wicked ways (Acts 2:40; 3:26). Then God can bless you. Turn to the Lord by doing good daily for God (1 Peter 3:11). PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- What Was Paul's Message? | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search What Was Paul's Message? The message the Apostle Paul gave would be the same message others gave about the saving of souls. His words would have started out the same as John the Baptist’s, Jesus Christ’s or the apostles’. "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand" (Matt. 3:2; 4:17; 10:7) - right now! He was saying, if Jesus Christ has given you ears to hear the message, and eyes to see the truth, you should repent this instant (Matt. 13:13)! You must "turn around" or live another way. That’s what repent means (Matt. 13:15). He was explaining that when you keep Jesus Christ’s commands, He will heal your eyes and open your ears (2 Cor. 3:16). He will show Himself to you (John 14:21). It is utterly amazing how many people are trying to understand the Bible without obeying it (2 Tim. 3:7)! How many times did Jesus Christ tell us to keep His words (Matt. 5:19; 7:24; Luke 8:21), do His words (Luke 10:28,37; 11:28), keep His sayings (John 12:47; 8:51; 13:15), keep His works (John 14:12; Matt. 7:21), keep His commandments (John 15:10; 1 Cor. 7:19), and walk in His commandments (1 John 2:17; 2 John 6)? Today, people lie, steal and commit adultery. They love their friends and hate their enemies. They attend church, holding to a form of religion but not possessing the power that results from living a godly life (2 Tim. 3:1-7). They are continually learning about something but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Tim. 3:7). This truth they are seeking is the truth about desiring to live godly in Jesus Christ (2 Tim. 3:12). It is the knowledge of how to repent, how to keep God’s Ways and how to do God’s Will daily on earth as it is done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). It is how to overcome and how to put to death the deeds of the flesh by living to the Spirit daily (Rom. 8:13; Gal. 5:16, 24). Paul overcame his fleshly nature by keeping the deeds of Christ (Rev. 2:26). His message of overcoming with Jesus Christ’s Spirit in us is seldom heard today. How many completed believers are there today who are zealous for good deeds or good works (Titus 2:14)? Jesus was glorifying the Father by good works (Matt. 5:16). He also said we will do greater works than He did because we will live longer than He lived (John 14:12). We are to leave this world a better place than when we came into it. We accomplish this by living like Jesus Christ and serving others in need. This was Paul’s message. wholewheatonline.com Search Spiritually in Tune With God Have you ever telephoned someone you had on your mind and discovered that person was also thinking of you just before the phone rang? How much more spiritually in tune is God to our every thought (Psalm 94:8-11; 125:4; 1 Cor. 3:20)? There is a way to become spiritually in tune with God, just as there is a way to become spiritually out of tune with God. When we live in sin, we are spiritually out of tune with God. We are in tune with Satan’s wavelengths and we are doing Satan’s will (2 Tim. 2:26). When we repent and come out of a life of sin by living a life of righteousness, we become in tune with the Father, who is righteous (Psalm 11:7; 145:17). All unrighteousness is lawlessness or sin (Rom. 3:23; 1 John 3:4; 5:17). This is why the one who repents is to imitate what is good by doing good (3 John 11). We are to imitate God daily instead of Satan (Eph. 5:1). We are to do good daily instead of evil. Instead of being slaves to unrighteousness, God wants us to repent and become slaves to righteousness (Rom. 6:13, 17-19). God’s Will is righteousness (Psalm 106:3). Satan’s will is lawlessness or unrighteousness. God is righteous and He wants us to imitate Him by practicing righteousness daily (Eph. 5:1). He wants us to glorify His name with good works (Matt. 5:16). Jesus laid out those works in the parable of the sheep and goats found in Matthew 25:33-46. Satan is an enemy of all righteousness and good works when they are done in secret for the glory of God (Matt. 6:1; Eph. 6:6). Why? Because that is how he is crushed in our natures and put under our feet by God (Rom. 16:20). Good works and righteous deeds are God’s Will. When we do good works daily on earth as they are done in heaven, we are in tune with God (Matt. 6:10). Now, all we need to do is stay in tune with God (Matt. 24:13). We will have Jesus’ nature formed in us (Gal. 4:19). We will overcome the evil in our lives by continually doing good toward others for God (Rom. 12:21; 1 Peter 3:10-11, 13). We will have our prayers answered because we are doing God’s Will and pleasing Him in all we do (1 John 3:22; John 8:29; 9:31). Not only that, because we are seeking first God’s kingdom by practicing righteousness for God, the Lord will give us all the things we need (Matt. 6:33; John 8:51). So, what are you waiting for? The Lord is waiting for you to become spiritually in tune with Him. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International

On the surface, this sounds like it is a supreme sacrifice on one’s part, but that notion couldn’t be further from the truth. Happiness comes from serving others, and teaching yourself to be totally outward is sheer health to your bones. If you don’t want the problems that others have, then help others who have those problems. This is a way of life that takes total commitment.
