- What Was Paul's Message? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search What Was Paul's Message? The message the Apostle Paul gave would be the same message others gave about the saving of souls. His words would have started out the same as John the Baptist’s, Jesus Christ’s or the apostles’. "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand" (Matt. 3:2; 4:17; 10:7) - right now! He was saying, if Jesus Christ has given you ears to hear the message, and eyes to see the truth, you should repent this instant (Matt. 13:13)! You must "turn around" or live another way. That’s what repent means (Matt. 13:15). He was explaining that when you keep Jesus Christ’s commands, He will heal your eyes and open your ears (2 Cor. 3:16). He will show Himself to you (John 14:21). It is utterly amazing how many people are trying to understand the Bible without obeying it (2 Tim. 3:7)! How many times did Jesus Christ tell us to keep His words (Matt. 5:19; 7:24; Luke 8:21), do His words (Luke 10:28,37; 11:28), keep His sayings (John 12:47; 8:51; 13:15), keep His works (John 14:12; Matt. 7:21), keep His commandments (John 15:10; 1 Cor. 7:19), and walk in His commandments (1 John 2:17; 2 John 6)? Today, people lie, steal and commit adultery. They love their friends and hate their enemies. They attend church, holding to a form of religion but not possessing the power that results from living a godly life (2 Tim. 3:1-7). They are continually learning about something but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Tim. 3:7). This truth they are seeking is the truth about desiring to live godly in Jesus Christ (2 Tim. 3:12). It is the knowledge of how to repent, how to keep God’s Ways and how to do God’s Will daily on earth as it is done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). It is how to overcome and how to put to death the deeds of the flesh by living to the Spirit daily (Rom. 8:13; Gal. 5:16, 24). Paul overcame his fleshly nature by keeping the deeds of Christ (Rev. 2:26). His message of overcoming with Jesus Christ’s Spirit in us is seldom heard today. How many completed believers are there today who are zealous for good deeds or good works (Titus 2:14)? Jesus was glorifying the Father by good works (Matt. 5:16). He also said we will do greater works than He did because we will live longer than He lived (John 14:12). We are to leave this world a better place than when we came into it. We accomplish this by living like Jesus Christ and serving others in need. This was Paul’s message. - Purity - A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Purity - A Woman to Woman Article God frequently tests me to see how I will react to persecution. He allows Satan to orchestrate that persecution to see if I truly will love my enemies and those who persecute me. The most difficult persecution is when it comes from within your own home. Be ready! It will happen to test those God is calling and choosing. It is important to pray daily for God’s strength to handle any situation that may come up. Jesus lived to do good to everyone, even His enemies, and we should too (Matt. 5:44). Jesus Christ didn’t complain when they crucified Him. He said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34; 1 Peter 4:13). Every time my nature even begins to take offense, I say, “Father, forgive them; because they do not know what they are doing.” There isn’t time to be offended. Every precious minute must be happy and filled with thoughts of God’s Will and Ways, and God’s love for others. I must keep a pure heart and mind at all times. If I have done my best for God, I will say as Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God (Matt. 5:8). I will remember that to the pure, all things are pure (Titus 1:15). Let’s practice righteousness by practicing purity in our thoughts and actions. We must be strong with God’s strength and keep God’s Ways and God’s Will uppermost in our minds. If we keep clean hands and a pure heart, we will receive God’s blessings (Psalm 24:4-5). If we remain sensible and pure, the word of God will not be dishonored (Titus 2:5). Philippians 4:8 reminds us all inclusively, “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.” PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

- Will You Be Able To Stand? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Will You Be Able To Stand? Noah was the only person God found who was practicing righteousness in his day (Gen. 6:9; 7:1). Noah stood alone before God. He didn’t need a church, nor did he depend upon a body of people to provoke him weekly to do good for God. Noah was mature in his walk with God. His relationship was complete. We cannot be found righteous unless we live righteously every day. If we never do anything for God, by serving others in need as Jesus Christ our example did, we are not righteous, neither are we considered righteous by God. How is your personal relationship with God? By the time you’ve finished this article, you will see exactly what must be done to make it like Noah’s. Enoch, Abel, Job, Abraham, Elijah and the prophets of old were all righteous. They stood before God and stood alone as mighty men of God. Even when Job’s friends tried to discourage him, and his wife told him to curse God and die, Job’s one-to-one faith in God stood firm (Job 2:9-10). Many doers of the word who worshiped God in the past willingly gave their lives to God and laid down their lives as testimonies of their solid, unshakable, stand-alone faith. They trusted in the Rock of their salvation, Jesus Christ, and as a result, became solidly established in their faith—as rocks. The requirements of our faith in Jesus Christ are: A. Practice righteousness for God and keep Jesus Christ’s words and sayings (John 8:51). Continue to do God’s Will daily in our lives, remaining faithful by continually doing so. B. Study God’s word continually to find out what God’s Will is, and perform it daily in our lives (Eph. 5:17) C. Honor the Lord with your wealth, by setting aside from each paycheck a certain amount with which to do good for God (Prov. 3:9-10). This is God’s money and no longer ours. It is entrusted to us by God. We are His trusted servants who distribute that money to the poor, the needy, the stranger, or anyone who would borrow from us. You do not need to spend it all before the next paycheck, but safeguard what is put aside for God in your trust, and use it continually to do His Will. God Himself will continually teach you what to do with this amount you have set aside regularly to honor Him. God always teaches those who continually obey Him on a personal basis. He teaches us how to love one another, how to serve, how to give, how to share, and how to forgive one another continually. He wants to teach us about His Ways, but He can’t do this unless we continually, on a daily basis, imitate the Way He lives. D. Pray constantly for guidance, and for others (2 Tim. 1:3). Prayer is the tool we use to commit all our ways to God. It is how we break down all the strongholds of sin in our lives and put them into the captivity of Jesus Christ, making all our ways Christ’s Ways. It is how we telephone God and keep in touch daily. Prayer is how we make known to Him all our needs and desires. It is our hot line, a direct connection to the God whom we serve daily. Always remember, we have great favor with God because we serve others daily on His behalf, which makes us His true servants. We are continually serving others, and, as a result, we are continually growing more and more like Christ each day. We know the secret that God causes the growth when we serve others as Jesus Christ gave us example to do in His name (Col. 3:17). We know the secret, that unless we imitate Jesus Christ daily, we will never be like Him. We know that imitating Jesus Christ is how we repent, how we abide in Christ, how we clothe ourselves with Christ, how we become doers of the word of God, and how we overcome our evil natures and have Christ formed in us. If these things are in our lives and are continually increasing, we will never fail (2 Peter 1:3-10). God is making stand-alone disciples. He wants us to be stimulated to more love and good works daily, drawing near to Him through personal Bible study and as He continues to allow, through all the resources He has provided us on wholewheatonline.com, to stir up by way of reminder the simple truth God has called us to (Rom. 15:4-5; Heb. 3:13; 2 Peter 1:12-13). He wants us to seek Him with all our heart, and develop our one-to-one relationship with Him, maturing in our faith, so we are able to stand alone; going to Him for all our needs and learning to discern His voice (1 Chronicles 28:9; John 5:44; Acts 17:27; James 4:8; John 10:27). He wants us to be an example for those in our life that are not yet mature (Titus 2:7-8, 1 Tim. 4:12). Will you help Him and learn to stand-alone? Will you be His example of love? Will you show by your godly life and example how to live a repentant life before God daily (Heb. 5:12-14)? If you do, you will not only have found the purpose of life, but you will be living it and showing it in all your thoughts, words and deeds. You will be letting your light shine for God’s glory (Matt. 5:16). You will be an ambassador for Christ (2 Cor. 5:20). You will be like Noah, and will be ready for all that is to come (1 Cor. 16:13; 1 Pet. 5:8; Matt. 24:42). You will be the apple of God’s eye, His trusted servant, the one of whom He loudly proclaims, “This is my beloved son (or daughter) in whom I am well pleased” (2 Pet. 1:17). God is, and always will be, your friend because you cared enough for Him to have Jesus Christ formed in you (John 15:14). When you are fully trained, you will be like your Teacher, because you have been taught by Him (Luke 6:40). Now, you will be able to stand. - The Truth About Heaven and Hell | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The Truth About Heaven and Hell We have been taught from the time we were little children that the good people go to heaven and the wicked people go to hell. Those who go to heaven when they die are rejoined with loved ones. This teaching means we will never die. We have been told that hell is terrible, a place of eternal torment. There is fire there and people in hell burn forever and never die. The devil and his angels are there to torment those in hell day and night forever and ever. Hence, they never really die, but continue to live on and on and on. Some have claimed there is a spiritual prison in which all the dead are held under bondage until judgment. This, too, is a doctrine teaching that we will never die. It is a spiritual lie that cannot be proven true by the holy word of God. What does the God of the Bible say? Does the spirit live on after death? The word of God says, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die” (Ezek. 18:20). Yes, the soul can die. We are also instructed not to fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. Instead, we are told to fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (Matt. 10:28). So now we can see that souls can be killed by God. The Bible calls this the second death (Rev. 20:14; 21:8). People are subtly persuaded to believe they don’t really die. They are told they return to their angelic state when they die. Many who have fallen for this lie remain ignorant of God’s word. What does God’s true word say about what happens when you die? Your death is a sleep. All will be resurrected in the end. Did you hear? In the end! You do not go to heaven when you die. You sleep! Your spirit returns to God who gave it, but so does the sparrow’s spirit (Eccl. 12:7). God takes His Spirit away and you return to the dust. He sends forth His Spirit and you come alive again (Psalm 104:29-30; Ezek. 37:4-14). You cannot praise God in the grave because you cannot speak. God, who is true, says, in the very day you die, your thoughts perish (Eccl. 9:5, 10). The death of people is the same as animals ( Eccl. 3:19-20). So a man lies down and dies and does not rise until the heavens be no more (Job 14:12). The dead do not rise until when? Until the heavens be no more. That’s at the end of the age, at the return of Jesus Christ. The dead people will not rise nor be aroused out of their sleep. Job said he was going to wait in the grave until God called him and gave him a new body at the time of the resurrection (Job 14:14-15). When a man’s spirit departs, the word of God says, he returns to the earth, and in that very day, his thoughts perish. Do you believe God’s word (Psalm 146:4; 112:10)? The dead do not praise the Lord, nor do any who go down to silence (Psalm 115:17). At one point in time the dead are symbolically given white robes and told to rest for a little while longer (Rev. 6:9-10). This indicates they are resting now. These words are not cleverly devised tales (2 Peter 1:16). Jesus says that an hour is coming when all who are in the graves—not in heaven—shall hear His voice, and those who did the good works shall come forth to a resurrection of life (John 5:28-29; Rom. 2:7). Even King David, a man after God’s own heart, did not ascend to heaven (Acts 2:34). He is still in the grave, just as Jesus Christ said (Acts 2:29). No man has ascended to heaven. Now, Jesus wouldn’t lie, would He (John 3:13)? Only those who persevere in doing good will receive immortality or eternal life (Rom. 2:7). The Truth About Hell When Jesus Christ returns, He will create a lake of fire, which will be located in Jerusalem (Is. 31:9). The location could very well be in the valley of Gehenna, which is now a public park. The word Gehenna means hell. The first customer of the lake of fire will be the beast who has masqueraded as the returned Christ and given himself all the titles of Christ. This is the one whom the whole world will worship before Jesus Christ returns to the earth (Rev. 13:8). The second customer will be a man who made a statue in the likeness of this false christ and required everyone in the world to fall down and worship that statue or be put to death (Rev. 13:11-17). This religious deception is caused by God. All those who refuse the message of God’s simple truth so as to be saved will believe the false christ (2 Thess. 2:10-12; Rev. 17:17). Then, anyone who is not found in the book of eternal life will be cast into that same fire started by Jesus Christ at His return (Rev. 20:12-15). All whose deeds were righteous before God will be spared (Matt. 18:35; 15:8). But all whose deeds remained wicked and unrepentant will be destroyed, including those who do not practice righteousness for God or love their brother (1 John 3:10). They will be burned at the end of the age in the lake of fire and as they are burned, they will weep and gnash their teeth (Matt. 13:40-42). They will be totally destroyed forever—destroyed never to return again (Rev. 21:8; 2 Peter 3:7). They will be set ablaze and turned to ashes (Mal. 4:1-3). Remember, the word death means cessation of life or end. Eternal punishment is the end of spiritual life—the second death (Matt. 25:46). Satan will also be thrown into the lake of fire at a later time. “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Rev. 20:10—Notice, in many translations of the Bible, the word “are” is substituted for the original word “were”—past tense). The expression day and night forever is an extravagant way of saying for good, or forever. When trying to understand hell, many people are confused about the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. This was a parable—a riddle, an example—not an actuality. The rich man was being slowly burned with fire and was very thirsty. Lazarus was immortal. Now, since the rich man was mortal, there was a bridge between them. Lazarus was spiritual and the rich man was flesh. That bridge could not be crossed over by Lazarus (Luke 16:24). This parable emphasizes the importance of living for God now, while we have the opportunity. There is no second chance. The Truth About Heaven People believe their loved ones have gone to heaven already. What about Moses and Elijah in Matthew 17:4? That was a vision (Matt. 17:9). What about Paul? He didn’t know how he ascended, so how could you (2 Cor. 12:2)? He said only God knew what happened. It could have been a vision. What about Enoch? God took His Spirit out of Enoch’s body. Then God put Enoch’s spirit to sleep until the resurrection (Heb. 11:5). Remember, Jesus Christ was the first born of many brethren (Rom. 8:29; 1 Cor. 15:23). It is appointed once for all men to die, then comes the judgment (Heb. 9:27). Enoch is waiting to be born again (Heb. 11:39-40). God hid Enoch’s body, just as He hid Moses’ body, so men couldn’t build a building over it and use it to their advantage to further their own religions. The devil wanted Moses’ body to further his religious deception on this earth, and he argued with Michael for it (Jude 9). But God hid it from sight on Mount Nebo about 80 miles west of Jerusalem. What about Elijah? Approximately 12 years after Elijah was taken up in a chariot, he sent a letter to King Jehoram of Israel (2 Chron. 21:12-15). Remember, there are no thoughts in the grave, so if he died he could not have written the letter (Psalm 6:5). Elijah was still alive, but living elsewhere on this earth. He went into retirement. When Jesus was crucified, He died. If he didn’t die, then He lied. And if He died according to the Scripture, which cannot be broken, he had no thoughts in the grave. He went to sleep for three days and three nights. Jesus did not preach to the dead spirits of mortal men in prison. He had no thoughts in the grave. First Peter 3:18-19 says nothing about Jesus Christ preaching to somebody while He was in the grave. He had plenty of time to do that after He was resurrected and had a spiritual body. Incidentally, the “spirits now in prison” were the fallen angels of Jude 6, not dead humans. People in the churches have been lied to and most refuse to study their Bibles and ask God to show them His truth. They are afraid they might have to give up some cherished belief. They would rather put their trust in some man, even though the word of God continually warns them not to do that (Psalm 146:3; Is. 2:22). The Bible is not a private interpretation, but men from all ages have been moved by the Holy Spirit to write the words of God (2 Peter 1:20-21). God places a special curse on anyone who tampers with His words (Rev. 22:19). True disciples of Jesus Christ are warned not to be uninformed about those who are asleep (1 Thess. 4:13-17; 5:10). God does not want us to grieve, thinking we have no hope. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the trumpet of God. And those who died in Jesus Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Have you heard something different? Behold, I tell you a mystery, we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye (1 Cor. 15:51). When? At the last trumpet. When does the Bible say the last trumpet is (Rev. 11:15)? The trumpet will sound and the dead in Christ will be raised imperishable and we will be changed (1 Cor. 15:52). Many who profess to be followers of Christ are far removed from God’s true form of spiritual worship (John 4:24; Rom. 12:1; James 1:27; Psalm 37:27). The spiritual leaders of this world are leading people astray (Is. 3:12). Preachers are preaching on their own authority. God says He did not send them (Jer. 23:1, 11, 13-22). People love their false ministers, but what will they do in the end (2 Tim. 4:3-4; Jer 5:31)? We are admonished to prove all things by God’s word and to believe in only those things that can withstand the sure test of those Scriptures (2 Tim. 2:15). By knowing these truths, at least you have a choice about whether to stay deceived or not. Read your Bible and come out of religious deception once and for all! Seek the truth and it will set you free from being religiously misled (John 8:32). The Lord is with you when you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him. But if you forsake Him, He will forsake you forever (1 Chron. 28:9). PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

wholewheatonline.com Search It's Later Than You Think For the coming of the Son of Man will be just as the days of Noah (Matt. 24:37-38). People were still going about their business as usual. No one expected anything to happen. In other words, it came upon the whole world as a snare, a trap. Will Jesus Christ’s return come upon us at the end of this age as a snare? Luke 21:34-35 says, yes, indeed it will. Not only will it come upon this present-day society as a trap, but God’s word also states He is going to do things in our day that we would not believe, even if someone described them to us (Acts 13:41). Yes, if someone would describe them to the people, they would mock and scoff at that person and as a result, they will perish. Many say, “I would not scoff.” Well, here is your chance to find out. What else was going on in the days of Noah shortly before the flood—when all of mankind came into judgment and perished, with the exception of Noah and his family? God’s word says angels assumed a physical form, came down to earth and mated with human women (Gen. 6:4). Were these good angels or evil angels? God’s word says in Jude 6 and 7 that these were evil angels who did not keep their proper abode, but interfered in man’s affairs, and as a result, are going to be destroyed in the lake of fire along with their ruler, Satan, the devil (Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10). Is this happening again today? Very shortly, the man of sin, as he is called, will be revealed to the inhabitants of this world. He is also called the son of destruction, the man of lawlessness (2 Thess. 2:3). This “world teacher” who possesses all the powers of Satan. God’s word mentions this individual in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12. God is restraining this individual now, until the time when he will be revealed (2 Thess. 2:6-8). He will rule this earth for three and one-half years after this time. This beast will then be seized along with the false prophet—his side kick. They will be the first two to be destroyed by the Lord in the lake of fire when He returns shortly (Rev. 19:20). Notice what Revelation 12:12 says: “Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.” When did Satan come down to earth? Revelation 12:7-9 says it was after a war was fought in heaven. What is happening in our skies now? The mystery of lawlessness mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 are those who cause an apostasy, a falling away from the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to the god of paganism. The god of paganism is the god of this world, Satan. In the Bible, he is called “the beast” because his body is not human and his spirit is that of Satan. We advise people not to watch this man when he appears on television and makes his declaration to the world, because he is coming with all the power and authority of Satan (Rev. 13:2, 6-8). The whole world will eventually be deceived into worshiping him and taking his mark (666) or his name upon their right hand or forehead (Rev. 13:3-4, 16-18). Now is the time to prepare! Now is the time to repent! Now is the time to make all your ways pleasing to God, in thought, word and deed. Now is the time to seek God by studying His word daily. Now is the time to imitate Him by practicing His Ways in your life and stay true to Him until the end (Eph. 5:1). Our Lord Jesus Christ declared, we must overcome the satanic pulls of our evil natures by keeping and doing the deeds of Jesus Christ and enduring to the end (Rev. 2:26; Rom. 2:7; Eph. 2:10; John 14:12). If the greatest in the kingdom will be the servant of the most, then what’s going to happen to those who will not serve others for the Lord now? Remember always, it is the sheep who inherit the kingdom because on a daily basis, they serve others who need help, as Jesus Christ gave them example to do. They do all manner of righteous deeds in their daily lives for the Lord, whether in word or deed, as they are commanded to do (Col. 3:17). In short, the Lord’s true disciples only live to do good, as Jesus said we should. They feed the hungry, give clothes to those in need, visit the sick, invite in those who need a place to stay and visit those who are in prison (Matt. 25:33-40). All their deeds are done for the Lord, not for their own glory (Matt. 5:16). They are continual doers of the Lord’s words, and they are the ones who will abide forever because they are daily doers of God’s Will (John 8:51; 1 John 2:17). They perform God’s Will daily on earth as it is being done in heaven (Matt. 7:21; 6:10). How ridiculous are the words of the false prophets who say there is nothing to do to be accepted by God. True repentance is a glorious new life that one lives, a life of righteous good works done to please the Lord. If you are not living it, then you’re not accepted by God (2 Thess. 1:5; Matt. 25:41). Even the thief on the cross could pray for others and for the forgiveness of his sins. If he would have been taken down from that cross, he would have been required to live as a follower of Jesus Christ. He had a good excuse why he couldn’t physically live the righteous life, but we who are free do not. Ask yourself: 1.What did I do for the Lord yesterday to please Him (John 8:29)? 2.What did I do today to please the Lord (Col. 3:17)? 3.What do I plan to do tomorrow that will please the Lord (Eccl. 10:2; Prov. 16:9)? The answers to these questions let you know who you are living for, the Lord or the god of this world, Satan. In the dictionary, the word “godless” implies a simple definition of one who leaves God out of his life. Now is the time to repent and live the righteous life so you will not perish along with those who worship the beast and receive his mark. It is most definitely later than you think! wholewheatonline.com Search How to Serve God If you live your personal life to please God in all aspects, you are worshiping the Lord and serving Him only (Matt. 4:10). If you are no longer living to please self but to serve others, you have become like Christ (Rom. 15:2-3). If you are putting other people’s interests and needs before your own, if you are more concerned about others than yourself, if you are the last to be served, you have Christ’s nature formed in you (Gal. 4:19). Living to please self is selfish. Living to please others is selfless or unselfish. Jesus came to show us how to overcome evil by doing good for the glory of the Father (Rom. 12:21; Col. 3:17). He came to show us how to be servants of others and how to practice selflessness instead of selfishness. He said the greatest among us will be those who serve the most (Matt. 23:11). This theme is prominent throughout the New Testament (Matt. 20:26-28; 25:40; Mark 9:35; 10:43-45; Luke 8:21; 1 Cor. 10:24). Loving God is serving God. Serving God is worshiping God. Praising God is thanking God, being specific about the things for which we are praising Him. Webster’s Dictionary defines praise to God as the act of glorifying God with song or other acts of service. We can sing praises to God by singing songs that tell what great things God does for us (Eph. 5:19). We can praise Him with our mouths by being ready always to give a good answer to others as to why we live the way we do for God (1 Peter 3:15). We can praise Him with our mouths by not gossiping or speaking evil of others, and by not swearing or using vulgar language (1 Peter 4:11). Yet few people know refraining from swearing is worshiping and praising God. We are to worship God by pleasing Him in all respects. That is how we praise His name. Confessing our faults to one another is worshiping God. We can worship or glorify God by the way we dress, or we can serve the devil by the way we dress. We can worship, glorify or praise God by the way we think or we can worship Satan by the way we think. Can we please God by being happy? We can please God just by having a good day for His glory (Matt. 5:16). Can we have a good day if it isn’t a day lived to please God? Of course not. It is God’s word that shows us the Way to have a good day. Are you really concerned about what God thinks in every area of your life? How many of your old ways are you holding on to? Are you coming short of entering the kingdom (Rom. 3:23)? Are you pressing on and continuing to force your way into the kingdom of God (Luke 16:16)? The Israelites were not able to enter because of disobedience (Heb. 3:19; 4:1-3, 6, 11). Are you seeking God by doing good to please Him? Serving God and seeking God, praising and worshiping God, pleasing God, living for God, walking like God, talking like God and imitating God—by imitating Jesus Christ’s Way of life (Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1)—is the answer to the eternal riddle of the mystery of God. It is how to be a doer of the word of God (James 1:22; Luke 8:21; 6:46). Closely observe how Abraham and his nephew, Lot lived (Gen. 17:1-2; 18:19; 19:1-3). Study the eternal message given by the prophets of old from God. All God ever wanted from His creation was for everyone to keep His Ways by practicing acts of righteousness one to another. He only wants people to serve Him by practicing acts of kindness, charity, mercy, compassion, honesty and justice (Micah 6:8; Deut. 10:12-13, 17-20). He wants us to live at peace with all men as much as is possible, and in so doing, serve Him (Heb. 12:14; 1 Peter 3:11-12). - Will You Heed the Call? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Will You Heed the Call? The call is going out and the sheep are hearing the call. The sheep are coming from all parts of the earth. The sheep are those who seek the Lord, or the truth, and they are finding the truth and the Lord (Matt. 7:7). The Lord is gathering His sheep from various walks of life and from various faiths and religions of man. The call is for holiness, for without holiness no one will see the Lord (Heb. 12:14 King James Version). The call is for repentance which consists of righteousness that comes from the heart—a changed life, a new heart and a new mind (2 Cor. 13:9, 11). The Lord is making more servants of others, as He Himself serves others continually. He wants to know who will care, who will change and who will endure. The Lord must sort out those who will be righteous and those who will remain wicked. The wicked must be marked for destruction and the righteous for eternal life (John 5:29). Never before has there been a determination like this made throughout the world. The Lord is preparing His soon-coming society where only righteousness will dwell, where only people who are righteous will dwell (Rev. 21:2, 4, 27). Jesus Christ was an overcomer. There are very few who know this fact (John 16:33; Rev. 3:21; 5:5). He commands us to overcome our evil natures just as He did! He said His Way, which He came to show, us is very easy and very pleasant (1 John 5:3). Simply do good! We are to purify our souls by being obedient to God’s truth and fervently love one another from our hearts. We are not to complain against one another (1 Peter 1:22; James 5:9). Jesus is calling His sheep to hear His true gospel—the one and only gospel that He taught to His disciples almost 2,000 years ago (Eph. 4:5). This is the gospel of the doctrine that conforms one to godliness. If a minister does not continually preach about this doctrine that conforms one to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing (1 Tim. 6:3-4). This is a message of personal, godly discipline. It is a message on how to imitate God and discipline ourselves for the purpose of godliness (Eph. 5:1; 1 Tim. 4:7; Titus 1:1). It is a message on being a servant to others in a righteous, kind, courteous, and charitable way through deeds done in love. It is a message of God’s good works done in the Spirit, replacing the evil works of the flesh. It is a life of joyful striving, persevering, forcing ourselves to do the right thing, and resisting Satan and the pulls of the flesh (James 4:7; Luke 16:16). It is a life of purpose, a life of triumph, a life of hope and a life of peace. It is a life of trials that God puts us through so He can build His character in us, and so we can have Jesus Christ’s nature formed in us (Gal. 4:19). It’s a life that we accept as a newly sworn-in soldier of the Lord. We no longer need to be concerned with the affairs of the world, but only with what our Commander in Chief, our Lord Jesus Christ, has to say. We live to please the Lord now and no longer live to please the flesh. We are now working full-time for the Lord, helping Him with the harvest of all those who have been chosen to have their day of salvation in this end time harvest of saints. When the Lord calls you, it is a holy calling—the greatest of all gifts from God. He is calling you so He can bless you. He is calling you so He can change you. He is calling you so you will be His friend. He is calling you so He can use you to call others in the future when you are ready (1 Tim. 4:14-16). “Blessed is the man who perseveres in doing good under trial, like Jesus did, for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life [eternal life], which the Lord has promised to those who love Him” (James 1:12). Jesus learned obedience from the Father. He learned obedience by continually doing the Father’s Will on earth as it is being done by God in heaven (Matt. 6:10). By suffering for doing good, He eventually became perfect (Heb. 5:8-9). We must be tested too. We too must suffer. We must also be salted by fire. That’s what being baptized with the Holy Spirit and fire is all about (Matt. 3:11). Anyone who will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. Everyone who lives for God by imitating Jesus Christ will be persecuted like Jesus was. That’s part of the salvation package (2 Tim. 3:12). If those who overcome will not be hurt in the second death, then we must all overcome to receive eternal life (Rev. 2:11). Today, there is very little emphasis on the subject of overcoming. This is because it does not fit into the framework of the social gospel that is being preached today. The watered down, incomplete gospel that is found in little “Bible tracts” is a man-made gospel, an incomplete gospel that could save no one (Mark 7:6-8). Jesus shouted to the people, “Repent, or you will perish” (Luke 13:3, 5). Change from your evil way of life, or you will perish. Keep God’s Ways and walk in them, or you will perish. Keep My sayings, or you will perish. Do God’s Will on earth like I did, or you will perish. The “Bible tracts” claim that all you need to do is say the sinner’s prayer and invite Jesus into your heart. Accept the atoning blood and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and you are saved. Find one example where Jesus or the apostles ever said to anyone that this was the gospel truth. Find one instance where Jesus instructed His disciples to say that. If Christ did not say it or teach it, isn’t it antichrist doctrine? He is calling you to save you and to spare you from what’s soon to come upon the world to test those who dwell on the earth (Rev. 3:10). He is calling you to give you a crown and to make you a world leader (2 Tim. 4:8; Rev. 5:10). He has chosen you to give you the opportunity to rule the nations of this earth with Him (Rev. 2:26-27). As it has been written, Jesus must reign. His job is to put all His enemies under His feet (1 Cor. 15:25). Then the nations will no longer train for war or go to war against one another. Jesus will enforce a lasting peace on earth (Micah 4:1-3; Is. 2:1-4). Will you heed the call? Will you fight the good fight? Will you be at the wedding supper of Christ (Rev. 19:8-9)? Those who have accepted the call will be praying for you. Study God’s word daily (2 Tim. 2:15 KJV). Practice God’s word daily in your life of true, continual prayer (1 Thess. 5:17). When you commit all your ways to the Lord, He will do the rest for you (Psalm 37:3-5). - How to Enter the Kingdom of God | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Enter the Kingdom of God "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand," declared John the Baptist (Matt. 3:2). Then, Jesus Christ came with the same message (Matt. 4:17). Later, He instructed His disciples to proclaim the same message - the one and only true message of Jesus Christ (Matt. 10:7). What is that complete message? It is about the kingdom of heaven. What about it? It is at hand, right now, at this moment. How do you get into the kingdom of heaven? Repent! Change! Turn around! Stop living one way and start living another. The Bible says Satan is the god of this world and his subjects are those who are held captive to do his will (2 Cor. 4:4; John 12:31; 2 Tim. 2:26). Jesus says that only those who do the Will of His Father will be freed from Satan’s control and enter the kingdom of heaven (Rom. 16:20; Matt. 7:21). He says this kingdom is located within you - in your heart - and that you enter it by practicing righteousness for Him daily (Luke 17:21; Matt. 6:1). Christ also says your righteousness must surpass the hypocritical stage of the scribes and Pharisees (Matt. 5:20). You must eventually do God’s Will from your heart (Eph. 6:6). No wonder Luke 16:16 says you must force your way into the kingdom. Jesus Christ says, "Strive [push yourself] to enter by the narrow door" (Luke 13:24). He says, "By your perseverance, you will win your souls" (Luke 21:19, 1977 NASB). Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for good deeds? (1 Peter 3:13). God is pleased with such sacrifices as practicing righteousness, doing good deeds and sharing what you have with others (Heb. 13:16; Luke 14:13). The Bible says the one who does good is of God and is righteous (3 John 11; 1 John 3:7). Let us not grow weary of doing good, because this is the central message of the kingdom of heaven (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13; Rom. 6:13). Overcoming our evil natures by doing good for God is the narrow gate by which we enter the kingdom of God (Rom. 12:21; Gen. 8:21; Prov. 14:12; Eph. 2:1-3). We must seek first His kingdom by practicing His righteousness in our daily lives (Matt. 6:33). Then God will begin to bless us and change our ways to conform to His Ways (Eph. 5:1). This is the way to enter the good life that God has waiting for all who will repent and be servants of others. - The Cure for Anxiety: A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The Cure for Anxiety: A Woman to Woman Article Prices are going up and many people are finding it increasingly difficult to make ends meet. Is your life plagued with anxiety about the future? When the world is tumbling down all around us, we need to look to God and His words of instruction and wisdom. Matthew 6:33 tells us, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.” What does it mean to seek God’s kingdom? It is the opposite of what we seek in this world. In the world, we seek dollars first. We think money is the answer to our anxiety and problems. But how many people have lots of money and are still full of anxiety? The answer to our anxiety and problems is found in God’s word. His word is so revealing if we only have eyes to see it. Matthew 6:25 says, “Do not be anxious for your life.” Yes, the Lord tells us not to be anxious about the price of gas, the price of bread, or even the price of homes. Luke 12:29 says, “Do not keep on worrying.” These are words from Jesus Christ Himself. It’s time to pay attention to God’s word and get our minds and lives in order. What a waste of time it is to worry about things we cannot change. It’s time to obey God and live each day with a happy heart. God has the birds and animals instinctively doing His Will daily. They do not fret or worry about what will happen to them, but sing happy songs from the tree tops and they make happy sounds on the ground because our heavenly Father feeds them and cares for them (Matt. 6:26). By nature, we are all worrywarts because we do not trust that things will go right in our lives. However, if we know and live by the Ways of the Lord, we are assured in our hearts that the Lord will take care of us. Let’s cast all our anxiety on Him, our ultimate problem solver (1 Peter 5:7). All we need to do is perform God’s Will daily in all we think, do and say. He will take care of all our needs (Matt. 6:10-11). This is how we seek God’s kingdom first and practice His righteousness in our daily walk with Him. wholewheatonline.com Search Is There Any Future For Me? Do you feel there is no hope for you because your problems are so great? Have you lost control of your life? Have you ever asked, "Is there any future for me and my family?" The answer is, "Yes!" But only if you repent, and begin to live for God and please Him daily (Acts 26:20; Rom. 12:21; Eph. 5:10; Prov. 31:25). There is a future for the righteous because even if you die, you will be resurrected to live forever (Is. 3:10; 1 John 2:17; John 5:28-29). Only the wicked, who will not repent by serving others for God and thus learn righteousness, will perish (Is. 3:11; 26:9-10). As parents, you are to live for God by training your children to do what is right. You must teach them to obey and not to argue. Teach them how to help with family chores and responsibilities, such as keeping their rooms clean. Your children need to learn not to give in to peer pressure, to do what is wrong. Instead, they need to be examples of light by continually doing what is right, at school and at play (Ezek. 14:20; Eph. 6:1-3). Soon you will notice that your children are changing too, and life in your home will be more peaceful and beautiful. God is looking for people who will be examples of righteousness for Him, whether they be children or adults. There are plenty who are examples of lawlessness and sin for Satan. God has promised if you seek to please Him by practicing what is right in His sight, He will help you solve your problems (Eph. 5:10, 17; Matt. 6:33; 1 John 3:22). - This Beautiful Message | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search This Beautiful Message God wants you to keep His commandments. He wants you to live by His every word. He wants you to know His Ways and live those Ways daily in your life. God wants you to do only His Will on this earth by performing only His Ways on this earth. So, what are God’s Ways? God’s Ways are all righteous and good (Psalm 145:17; 11:7; Jer. 9:24). God’s Ways are all kind and filled with love. By knowing, keeping and performing His Ways toward each other in our daily lives, we are loving our neighbor as ourselves (Gal. 5:22-24; Matt. 7:12). Our neighbor is any human being, whether our enemy or our friend (Matt. 25:40; Luke 6:45). True love toward another human being does no harm to that person, only good. As God’s word puts it, true love does no harm to its neighbor (Rom. 13:10). When people hear the word neighbor, they immediately think of the person next door. But in God’s word it simply means another person. We are to love one another by constantly serving one another. Isn’t this what our Lord and Savior is constantly doing in heaven to His creation here on earth, even to this very day (Matt. 6:10)? If you were to continually keep yourself occupied with serving, loving, giving, sharing and caring for others, you would be living a charitable life. You would be living as God lives. You would be living holy. You would be living righteously. You would be keeping all of God’s commandments, all of His statutes, all of His judgments and all of the requirements of the Lord (James 2:8; Rom. 13:10). Tragically, this is not known by many today. God’s law of physical requirements was made for sinners. If you keep God’s laws in the flesh, you will sin more (Rom. 8:5-8). But if you keep God’s laws in the Spirit, you will come out of sin and become righteous and perfect (Rom. 8:13; Matt. 5:48; Phil. 3:15). You will become a new creature or creation and it will not be difficult to obey the Lord (Gal. 4:19; 6:15). No wonder pure religion to God is to do good to others and thus come out of the world (James 1:27). In other words, the one who practices pure religion before God comes out of the flesh by continually doing good for God (Gal. 5:13, 16, 18). This is the one and only way to worship the Father in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24; Rom. 6:13; 12:1). So simple, so pure - just continually doing good to one another, as Jesus said we should. Oh, how man has complicated this simple message with all his traditions and man-made rules. As a result, he has made his worship of Jesus Christ in vain (Mark 7:7). Let’s not tamper with this beautiful message, but simply live it and experience the glorious transformation that takes place in our lives. wholewheatonline.com Search Little Things Mean Alot: A Woman to Woman Article It’s wasn’t our anniversary! It wasn’t my birthday! But my husband walked in with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. He wanted me to know he loved me. Little things mean a lot. I fixed a pot of tea for a widow. I added a little snack to make it more special. The widow said, “Thank you.” Yes, little things mean a lot. I came home from a busy day and my daughter had completely cleaned the house. It was so pleasant. Yes, little things mean a lot. Little things mean a lot to the Lord, too. When we go the extra mile for someone and do extra acts of kindness and charity for others, this means a lot to God. When we serve others, we are truly serving God, because Matthew 25:40 says, “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.” Doing acts of kindness is how we overcome. Psalm 37:27 says, “Overcome evil by doing good.” This is a special Way of life that glorifies God in heaven. Read Matthew 5:16. These are things we must learn to do (Is. 1:16-17; Titus 2:7; 3:1, 8, 14). When you begin to live a life of doing little acts of kindness for others, a whole new world will open up to you. This is God’s special Way of living that Jesus came to show us. It is a beautiful world of giving and sharing, loving and serving. It is the way that brings peace, joy, prosperity and abundance into your life. It is an outward way of living instead of an inward way of living. It really makes each day very special, very pleasant and happy. As the words of a song go: Little things mean a lot when you do them every day. Little things mean a lot when you’re living God’s special Way. Little things mean a lot and loving is the key. Do His Will forever and live eternally (Matt. 7:21; 1 John 2:17). - God's Instruction on Child Discipline | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search God's Instruction on Child Discipline Abraham brought his children up in the Ways of the Lord by teaching them to practice righteousness in everything they did. He taught them to practice justice by not cheating, lying or bearing false witness against others (Gen. 18:19). Children today also need to be taught to obey their parents. This is how they please the Lord (Col. 3:20). God’s word says that fathers, not mothers, have the major responsibility for disciplining their children, while mothers are to assist the fathers in regard to discipline. Fathers are commanded to bring up their children with discipline, instructing them how to please the Lord (Eph. 6:4). "For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?" (Heb. 12:7). That is quite a question in this day and age. Here are a few Scriptures from God’s word you should consider before you start disciplining. Remember, discipline without love does not work (1 Cor. 16:14; Prov. 13:1; Eph. 6:4). God’s word says, "Poverty and shame will come to those who neglect discipline" (Prov. 13:18). "He who spares the paddle, hates his son" (Prov. 13:24). "Discipline your son while there is still hope" (Prov. 19:18). "Train up a child (with discipline) in the way he should go (God’s Way), even when he is old he will not depart from it" (Prov. 22:6). Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but consistent discipline will remove it far from him (Prov. 22:15). "Reproof (discipline or correction) will give your child wisdom, but a child who gets his own way brings shame to his mother" (Prov. 29:15). "Correct your child and he will give you comfort (rest, peace)" (Prov. 29:17). If God is wrong about child rearing, then who can be right? God is going to send the Prophet Elijah before Jesus Christ returns to this earth, before the great and terrible day of the Lord. His message will restore the respect of children to their fathers and turn the hearts of the fathers to their children. It will restore godly order in homes (Mal. 4:5-6). Let’s prepare now, fathers, so we will not be held responsible for child neglect by the Lord when He returns shortly (Luke 1:17; Acts 3:26). - Learning How to Be Single-Minded | Daily Grains
Learning How to Be Single-Minded There are many different expressions in the Bible instructing believers to walk with singleness of mind, singleness of eye or singleness of heart. Hebrews 12:13 commands, "Make straight paths for your feet." Making straight paths for your feet is walking in righteousness at all times - continually. To always walk in righteousness is to always please the Lord. To always please the Lord we must constantly remember to please Him with our thoughts, words and deeds. We must refrain from sin and engage in those things that are good, edifying, honorable and profitable for others. Walking with singleness of mind and heart is being intent on serving and pleasing only God. He is number one in your life, in your heart and in your mind. You must make Him number one in your actions. Psalm 106:3 says, "How blessed are those who practice righteousness at all times." So do not deprive yourself of the good life with the free gift of eternal life that comes from living a godly life. It is the life Jesus Christ lived, and He came to show us how easy and pleasant it is. You will soon be a new you, if to His Ways you remain true. And make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed. Hebrews 12:13 So that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:10 This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men. Titus 3:8 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth. Matthew 6:24 How blessed are those who keep justice, who practice righteousness at all times! Psalm 106:3 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:30 And have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him. - Glorifying God in Your Life | Daily Grains
Glorifying God in Your Life Those who put confidence in the flesh are those who think they are not such bad people. The good they do puffs them up and fortifies the assumption that they are good people. On the other hand, Jesus and Paul both knew that no matter how much good they did, while in the flesh, it would not make them good people. That is why the good they did was to glorify the Father and not self. They lived to glorify the Spirit (which is God), not the flesh. Think about this. Can you think of any other way of overcoming evil other than by doing good? If you did good to glorify self, would that not that be evil? Instead of seeking your own good, the Lord wants you to seek the good of your neighbor, as a happy slave of Christ, doing the Will of God from the heart. If you empty yourself and take on the form of a servant as Christ did, you will have perfect peace and you will be giving that which is within as charity. And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone." Luke 18:19 Let no one seek his own good, but that of his neighbor. 1 Corinthians 10:24 It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, 27 and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. - Do All That You Do in Love | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Do All That You Do in Love God is love. When we do everything in love, we are doing the Will of God from the heart (Eph. 6:6). We silence the ignorance of foolish men by continually doing what is right in God’s sight (1 Peter 2:15). A true disciple of Jesus Christ does not live for self any longer, but lives only to do the Will of God daily, as Jesus did (Rom. 15:2-3; 1 Peter 4:2; John 5:30). He lives to the Spirit by constantly doing the Will of God and by persevering in acts of love toward others (1 Peter 4:6; Rom. 2:6-8, 10). He keeps Christ’s deeds and overcomes the pulls of the flesh by doing so (Rev. 2:26). He does not carry out the evil desires of the flesh, because now he walks by the Spirit (Gal. 5:16). People are either practicing the evil deeds of the flesh or they are practicing good deeds of righteousness to please God and overcome their evil deeds of the flesh by doing so (Gal. 5:19-24; 1 John 3:10). We are, by nature, children of wrath who are being held captive by Satan to do his will, which is evil (Eph. 2:3; 2 Tim. 2:26). Jesus Christ wants us to obey Him so we can come out from under the wrath of God (John 3:36). He wants us to be saved from this perverse generation (Acts 2:40). Jesus Christ gave His very life for our sins to deliver us out of this present evil age and show us the Will of our Father so He could bless us (Matt. 20:26-28; Gal. 1:4; Acts 3:26). We are told not to be foolish, but to understand what the Will of the Lord is so we can always be pleasing in His sight (Eph. 5:17; Rom. 12:2). Jesus is our brother when we do the Will of the Father, and we are to follow His example (Matt. 12:50; Luke 8:21). We cannot receive answered prayer or even get into the kingdom of God unless we keep the sayings of Jesus Christ, which He received from the Father (Matt. 7:14; John 8:51; 9:31; 12:47, 49-50). If we want to call Jesus Christ our Lord, we must be daily doers of His word and not remain deluded hearers who think they are saved when they are not (Luke 6:46; James 1:22). If we do these things, we will not be utterly destroyed but saved, as these are the keys to the kingdom. This is how to repent so we need not perish (Luke 13:3, 5). The Bible is the most quoted, least read and least understood book of any on the face of the earth; and the book that people have the most opinions about, but do not know what they are talking about. It is not head knowledge alone that makes a good carpenter but actual experience in performing the trade, coupled with head knowledge that makes a competent carpenter. The very same thing is true for a person who seeks to know God’s word. God in heaven is a just, charitable, loving, giving, forgiving God who is constantly serving His creation (Deut. 10:18). He helps widows and orphans and others who have no helper (Deut. 27:19). He even does good unto His enemies and associates with the lowly. You could rightly call Him the servant of the most. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to show us how to be servants of the most. We seek Him when we begin to imitate Him and His Son (Matt. 23:11; Eph. 5:1). Now, to do this, you must know how to study your Bible in order to draw out the truth of God from it. I have been studying the Bible for over 41 years now and by trial and error, have learned what I feel is the simplest, and best way, to study the Bible. I have found that the 1977 New American Standard Bible is the most accurate and reliable to the Greek, and suggest getting the kind with margin notes and references on the sides or down the middle of each page. The concordances found in the back of many Bibles are not complete enough and therefore, are totally inadequate for good Bible research study, so I suggest a New American Standard Bible Concordance also. You can purchase these many times in a used book store. It is wise to have a King James version of these also, to refer to and compare. I have found that the newer the translation, the more it is watered down from the original Greek and Hebrew, which is why I suggest the above. Of course, if you have a Bible you already use and love, by all means, use it. I am simply trying to help you get started with what I know, and have proven to be the most accurate, giving the fullest meaning of God's Word, so you can increase your biblical knowledge in the fastest way possible. In addition, it is helpful to have a good dictionary. The most reliable dictionary I have found is Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary. This dictionary actually has more in-depth meanings to words, than some of the watered down dictionaries today. It also includes Biblical references. Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionaries can be found at old used book stores, some Bible stores have the reprinted version, or it is available online now and in app form. Looking up the definition of a word can be very helpful in understanding Scripture better. Sometimes we have only a limited understanding of a word and looking up the meaning will broaden our ability to better discern Scripture. You will also need a study notebook. When you purchase a notebook for this purpose, try to get the five subject notebook that contains the most paper and is the best buy. You will also need something to mark the Scriptures in your Bible as well as your concordance. There are a variety of highIighters out there and I find the gel or dry highlighters are best and will not bleed through the pages, but you can also use ordinary crayons. You will also want to have a fine-point pen for writing notes in the margins of your Bible. Many people find using a color-coded system is helpful in coloring their Bible. If you decide to do that, you can make an index card of which colors you are using, what they reference, and keep it in your Bible to help you remember. You will be blessed by God for acquiring the things necessary to make your study time more productive and valuable. You will also be showing love and respect to God. If you cannot afford to buy these items, pray to God and ask Him to make it come about. Note: You should go no further with this information until you have all the things you need for proper Bible study right in front of you. Before you begin studying your Bible, you should pray. Ask God to help you understand His word, and show you the things He would have you learn from your time studying the Bible. Ask His Spirit to guide you and reveal the truth of His Word to your heart and mind, so that you may put it into action in your life (Luke 24:45; Matt. 4:4). You are allowing God to speak to you when you study your Bible and teach you directly (Ps. 25:4-5; Ps. 86:11; Ps. 119:66; Ps. 143:10; Deut. 4:29). One of the biggest secrets to successful studying is to begin by subject. As an example, begin by writing the subject “What is God’s Will?” at the top of the first page of your notebook. Remember chapter 51, verse 23 will look like this in the concordance: 51:23. The chapter is followed by a colon, which is followed by the verse. So keep your eye on the colon. If you are studying a more general subject like, hope, love, faith, then this would be a good time to look up the word in your dictionary and write down the meaning under your subject title. This way you will be reminded of its meaning while you are studying the Scriptures on that subject. Upon opening your large concordance, you will find that there are twelve pages of references for the word “will.” Now you must ask a series of questions that will give you a logical direction of where to look or how to start. Question number 1 is: What does the New Testament have to say on the Will of God? Maybe you would like to find out what the Old Testament has to say on the Will of God, but this could be a vast subject so it would be better to start from the New Testament. Then if you should need or want more references, you can always go into the Old Testament. Another example is this; if you can answer your question fully with what information is found in the New Testament, then there is no need to go further. There will be times, in order to understand a subject, it will be necessary to go to the Old Testament for more clarity on the subject. Now, let’s proceed by going to the last page and to the end of the last column and find where “Will” is mentioned in Revelation. After quickly glancing through Revelation, Jude and 3 John, stop at 1 John 5:14. Color this reference in your concordance yellow by using a highlighter or coloring crayon. Then color 1 John 2:17; then 1 Peter 4:19; then 1 Peter 4:2; 1 Peter 2:15; James 4:15; Heb. 13:21; 10:36; 10:10, 9, 7; 2 Tim. 2:26; 1 Thess. 5:18; 4:3; Col. 4:12; 1:9; Eph. 6:6; 5:17; 1:5, 9, 11; 1 Cor. 4:19; Rom. 12:2; Acts 22:14; 13:22; John 9:31; 7:17; 6:38; 5:30; 4:34; Luke 22:42; Mark 3:35; Matt. 21:31; 12:50; 7:21; 6:10. Now you have extracted from the concordance enough Scriptures on the Will of God to give you an excellent start on the subject. That’s good enough for a day’s Bible study, unless you are extremely curious as to what you will find. The next step is to look up each Scripture and write out the entire verse in your Bible research study notebook. As you begin to write and compile Scriptures on various subjects, you will begin to make sound biblical deductions based on the Scriptures you are reading and what understanding is to be had on that subject. Remember, one does not interpret the Bible, as the Bible interprets itself. At this point, write a small essay or article on the subject in 300 words or less. Attempt to explain the subject in terms that small children would have no trouble understanding. Then you know you will understand it too. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Well, it’s more than simple. I have found that it’s fun, rewarding, informative, instructive, Spirit-filled and I love it. Not only that, but I am fulfilling God’s Will by doing so. I am studying God's word to show myself approved to Him. I have learned that God’s Will is Jesus Christ’s words as well as other sayings in the word of God (John 8:51; 12:48). I am fulfilling the Scriptures, “Study to show yourself approved” and “The mouth of the righteous studies to give a good answer” (Prov. 15:28). I am ready always ready to give a good answer to those who ask a question about God’s word. Let’s try another subject. What does the Bible have to say on the subject of good works? There are approximately two columns on “works” in the New American Standard Concordance. It begins with Exodus in the Old Testament and ends with Revelation in the New Testament. Remember, we want to find out what the New Testament says about the subject of works first—good works, bad works, deeds, etc.—so let’s start with Revelation and work back to Matthew. Begin by coloring the following Scriptures in your concordance with YELLOW: Rev. 20:12-13; 14:13; 3:15; 2:26, 23, 19, 5, 2; James 2:1-26; Heb. 10:24; 6:1; Titus 3:8, 14; 2:7,14; 1:16; 2 Tim. 3:17; 1 Tim. 6:18; 5:10; 2:10; Eph. 2:9-10; 2 Cor. 11:15; Acts 26:20; 9:36; John 14:12; 8:39; 5:29; Matt. 16:27; 5:16,. You soon will be an expert on what the Bible has to say on the subject of “works.” Here is another system you might try. Color all the potential Scriptures you wish to look up with a yellow marker in your concordance. Then go back with a different color, maybe green and make a mark on the ones you feel would be the stronger verses. Then go back once again, maybe with a red marker and mark all those Scriptures you consider a must to put in your research article on the subject of works. Now use the process of elimination. Look up and write down all the “must” Scriptures first—those you have colored red. After you are done reviewing those Scriptures ask yourself, “Do I know what the Bible says about this subject at this point, or do I need more clarification from the word of God?” If so, look up the Scriptures that you colored green in your concordance the second time through. Now you are looking up the “stronger ones” category. After this is done, if you feel you still need more information on the subject to nail it down, look up the ones you first colored yellow. There will be times when you might want to extend that list into the Old Testament. Simply take your yellow marker and concordance and begin to scan through the Old Testament Scriptures in the concordance that would give information to your subject. Hint: I will sometimes jump to the book of Proverbs or Psalms. Next, look at what the minor prophets had to say from Daniel to Malachi. Then, try Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. From there you can go where you want to go. The Old Testament is pretty massive in its context. You do not want to overcome yourself with study, but do it in such a way, that you draw out from God’s word those areas you want to study. Make it fun! Study with a purpose. Do not be like so many who let the Bible fall open to a certain page and then begin reading—that is witchcraft. Remember, you, like many others, do not know the word of God and you are going to have to study with a purpose in order to reach your goal of knowing God’s word. Remember, God’s opinion is the only one that counts. Don’t worry about, or seek, what other books say the Bible says, that are written by man (Eccl. 12:12). If they are wrong in what they say—and a great percentage of them are—you will most likely end up tragically confused and deluded by their confusion. There are rarely two books that agree on the rapture, healing, divorce and remarriage, the gifts of the Spirit, etc. Do your own research, in the Bible, and you will obtain your own confidence from it, and what God says, not someone else’s persuasion or confusion. God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). This world is in a state of religious confusion but this does not have to be true for you. If you will go only to God for the answers and ask Him to show you His Ways and His Will so you can begin to live to please Him daily more perfectly, He will not let you down, but man will (Is. 2:22). The world is spiritually blinded because it follows man instead of God. People who go to church faithfully for years and years continue to remain ignorant about what the Bible says because they feel they are listening to someone they can trust, their preacher. They look up to him as being righteous and holy. Many do this to such an extent that they no longer bring their Bibles to church. They just put their trust in a man to tell them what the Bible says (Isa. 9:16-17). As you do your own personal Bible study, by studying in depth what the Bible has to say on these and other subjects, you may be shocked to find that the Bible says quite the opposite of what is being taught by many today. God the Father and Jesus Christ have only wanted simple, daily obedience to God’s beautiful Ways of peace and righteousness. He wants new creatures who are completely changed people, who have Christ formed in them as a result of living for Him and the Father daily (Gal. 4:19; 6:9-15). Overcome evil by doing good for God daily by doing His Will on earth daily as it is being done in heaven if you want to live forever (Psalm 37:27; 1 Peter 3:10-11; Rom. 12:21). - The Answer to Your Problems | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The Answer to Your Problems What should you do first if you have just learned how to please God daily by practicing righteousness, but your present state is one of despair because you have so many personal problems (1 John 3:7)? If you are like most people, you will tell yourself that you should first put your life in order, and then consider living for God. You’ll convince yourself you can’t help others until you first get yourself in condition to do so. Well, that’s just what Satan would want you to say. Your common sense, or human nature, is what has brought you all the curses in your life. It’s time you stopped trying to direct your own steps and instead, do what God says to do (Jer. 10:23). If you trust God by beginning to live for Him right away without delay, you have received the word on good ground and have an honest and a good heart (Matt. 13:23; Luke 8:15). You should start serving God to the best of your ability right away by continually doing what is right everyday. It’s a simple matter to just pray to God and ask Him to work out your impossible situation (1 Peter 5:7). Then, step back and watch the glory of the Lord. It might not happen in 30 seconds, 30 minutes, or 30 days, but rest assured, you have God’s undivided attention. He is giving your request full consideration. Why? Because you are doing things that are pleasing in His sight (1 John 3:22). You are now showing love to God by keeping His Ways, and God is going to show His love for you by responding to your needs. Don’t tell God how you want your problems solved because you can’t possibly know more than He. When He can trust you to live for Him, you can trust Him to live for you (Heb. 10:36). That’s faith that is perfected by works (James 2:22). Remember, when you serve others in need, you are serving God (Matt. 25:40). That is how you worship God in deed and truth (1 John 3:18). Serving others is how you worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). It’s also how you worship in the Spirit of God (Phil. 3:3). So, get started in your new life by helping someone else who has a problem or a need. Get concerned about serving others continually, as Dorcas did (Acts 9:36). Get your mind off your own problems, and God will gradually work all out for good for His glory (Rom. 8:28). Many do not realize this is how you put to death the evil deeds of the body—by simply doing good for God each day (Rom. 8:12-14). This is truly the answer to your problems. - Baptism is… | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Baptism is… Baptism is for your benefit, for your full assurance, for your gifts of the Spirit, for your forgiveness of sins. Baptism is an outward sign of inner repentance. You are showing by your actions that you mean business, that you are sincere. You are showing God in heaven that you are willing to lay down your old life of sin and pick up your new life of righteousness. You are saying you intend to live a new life of doing right things. You are going to live by God’s Ways and forsake your ways of the flesh which are not good. The Apostle Paul told how to do this. He said, “Repent, turn to God, and perform works for repentance” (Acts 26:20). You see, doing good works in Jesus Christ’s name for the glory of the Father is how you overcome (Col. 3:17; Rev. 2:26). Jesus says, the Father in heaven is glorified by good works and this is how a true disciple lets his light shine before men (Matt. 5:16). When John the Baptist was asked by the people what they should do in regard to repentance, he did not hesitate to give them a sound example of good works (Luke 3:10-11). “Bring forth fruit meant for repentance,” he said. That fruit is good works done for God’s glory (Col. 1:10). Good works are not necessary for salvation because salvation is a free gift that could never be earned (Eph. 2:8-9). But the rest of the message, left out by so many, is that good works are necessary for repentance, for overcoming, for glorifying God daily, for edification, purification, for instruction in godliness, and we should walk in them (Eph. 2:10). Jesus is purifying a peculiar people for Himself who are zealous and on fire or hot for good works (Titus 2:14). Jesus is making disciples who will do greater works than He did (John 14:12). God can’t stand those who are lukewarm for good deeds (Rev. 3:15-16; 2:2-5; Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13). Since Jesus is going to repay us according to our deeds, don’t you think we had better start doing some good deeds (Rev. 2:23; 20:12; 22:12; Matt. 16:27)? After all, if the righteous, who practice righteousness daily for God’s glory, are saved with difficulty, what is going to happen to those who deny Christ because they live disobedient and detestable lives and remain worthless for good works (1 Peter 4:18; 1 John 2:29; 3:7, 10, 18; Titus 1:16; 2:7; 3:8; Eph. 2:10)? God wants more examples like Dorcas, who was abounding with deeds of kindness and charity which she continually did (Acts 9:36; 10:2, 38). He wants us to become obedient to the faith once delivered (Acts 6:7). He wants us to obey what he commands and receive His Spirit (Acts 5:32). Have you heard this before? If you have, are you zealous for good works? Isn’t it time to repent and believe the gospel and not man and be baptized (Acts 3:26, James 2:22; Matt 28:19-20)? wholewheatonline.com Search Try it…You’ll Like it!: A Woman to Woman Article Have you ever heard the comment: Try it—you’ll like it? When we make new recipes, we try them to see if we will like them. When we plan a vacation, we might select a new location to visit. We try it to see if we’ll like it. How about trying to live for the Lord each day? You can be sure you’ll be happy and satisfied. Serving others continually to please God is the best! Why? Because we reap what we sow. When we are continually thinking, “What can I do for God next?” then we are busy doing God’s Will. We also know that what we think is what we’ll do. So, we might as well do good for God—being He repays good for good and evil for evil (Psalm 125:4; Prov. 24:29; Eph. 6:8). God is the One who makes these everlasting laws and He will make sure they are fulfilled (Jer. 17:10; 32:19). When we continually do good for God, and are making all our ways pleasing to Him, our life becomes blessed. Many people walk around uptight, thinking and speaking negative. They are full of anxiety, being inward and selfish. Nothing pleases these people, because they do not know God’s beautiful Way of righteousness that brings about peace (Rom 2:10; Rom 14:17). God has called us to His Ways of love to make a difference in this world. He has called us to be an example of godliness; yes, a light in a dark, evil world (Phil. 2:15). What a privilege. What an honor to be called to serve our Lord. Matthew 5:16 tells us to be a bright light by doing good to others continually. In closing, I ask, Is God calling you today? Are you interested in changing the way you think, speak and live? Would you like to be filled with contentment, peace, love and happiness? Would you like to make a difference in this world to glorify God by doing good for others in need? Try it—you’ll like it. Being Wholehearted in Your Walk Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for you are only passing this way once, and you might as well give it your best shot. This is the idea, stated in modern terminology, that Solomon was trying to get across in Ecclesiastes 9:10. It is also a godly trait. Our Creator wants us to be wholehearted, or have singleness of heart in everything we do. He wants us to be single-minded, with one purpose. So, whatever your hand finds to do, seriously, do it with your whole heart, knowing that it pleases your Creator when you put your brother’s welfare first, before your own. Do all that you do in the name of Christ, as all disciples of Jesus Christ are commanded to do. Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. - You Must Be Born Again | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search You Must Be Born Again The most misunderstood subject in the world is that of being born again and as a result, many may lose their salvation. This subject is misunderstood because of religious deception. The most quoted and distorted verses on this subject are found in the third chapter of John. A Pharisee named Nicodemus, who was a leader of the Jews, came to Jesus by night. He came at night because he didn’t want to be seen by his fellow Pharisees and risk being ostracized or excommunicated. Nicodemus made a shocking proclamation to Jesus, saying, “We (meaning the Pharisees back at headquarters) know You have come from God as a teacher” (John 3:2). Jesus knew the Pharisees knew who He was, because they told Jesus they understood what He was saying. Their ears were opened by Jesus. God’s judgment was upon them in regard to their sin and eternal life. Jesus said, “Because you said, ‘We understand,’ your sin remains” (John 9:40-41). As a result, many of those Pharisees became obedient to the faith of Jesus (Acts 6:7). The Pharisees, or ministers, who would not repent were the ones who became Jesus’ mortal enemies. What is not brought out in Scripture is that there were tens of thousands of Jews believing Jesus and converting to the discipleship of Jesus Christ (Acts 21:20, refer to margin notes in NAS). Those who would not repent among the Jewish priests became Jesus’ worst enemies. They were the snakes Baptist John yelled at (Luke 3:7). Jesus called the religious leaders snakes too (Matthew 12:34). Making this background clear is necessary for us to realize who John the Baptist and Jesus Christ were addressing. After Nicodemus’ comment, Jesus began to explain to Nicodemus that a person must be born again. However, because of who he was, Jesus spoke in heavily guarded spiritual language He knew Nicodemus would not understand. He spoke in a parable, which is a dark saying, a riddle or a mystery (Matt. 13:11-16, 17, 35). Jesus answered Nicodemus and said, “Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). Notice, Jesus says the kingdom of God is entered. Now turn to Matthew 23:13 and notice how Jesus scolded the Pharisees because they did not enter in themselves. The Pharisees were not entering the kingdom of God. How can we identify those who have entered the kingdom of God? They become new creations, new creatures, new human beings who live spiritual lives on this earth as Jesus Christ did (Gal. 6:15). What are some other signs? These people have crucified the flesh with its evil passions and desires (Gal. 5:24). They walk by the Spirit now and because of this, they do not carry out the evil desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). Over a period of time, they have Christ formed in them (Gal. 4:19). How does this happen? They continually discipline themselves for the purpose of godliness (1 Tim. 4:7). Jesus Christ’s doctrine is a holy Way of life. It is a simple, continual Way of life that conforms your old way of life to God’s new Way of life (2 Cor. 5:17). According to God’s word, anyone who does not speak according to this Way is conceited, stupid and understands nothing (1 Tim. 6:3-4). Jesus said in the parable in John 3:5, that we must be born of water. What water is He talking about? We know about the baptism by water that was practiced 2,000 years ago (Matt. 3:15-17). But look! Jesus says, “Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life” (John 4:14). What was this water? It was Jesus’ works, both from Him directly and as described in passages throughout His word (Eph. 5:26; John 8:51). What did the last part of the verse, regarding the Spirit, mean? We must be born of the Spirit (John 3:5-8). Second Corinthians 3:17 simply states that “the Lord is the Spirit.” First Corinthians 12:13 says, “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body.” The full explanation of the parable beginning in John 3:5 is: 1. We should be baptized and receive the free gift of God’s Holy Spirit. 2. We should read, study and obey God’s word daily by putting it into practice in our daily lives and be washed by the water of God’s word by studying it daily. Then we will be abiding in the Lord’s word and keeping His commandments, and the Father and the Son will make their abode in our bodies (John 14:23-24). In conclusion, when Jesus was talking to Nicodemus, He was talking to an enemy, not a disciple. Therefore, Jesus spoke to him in heavy spiritual language, a parable (2 Tim. 2:7; Matt. 13:33-34). Jesus knew those who had His Spirit and were living His way of life daily would clearly understand the meaning of this parable. All the others would twist the Scriptures to their own destruction (2 Peter 3:16). Jesus said His kingdom is righteousness and it is entered by righteous deeds that we do in Jesus Christ’s name (Rom. 14:17; Matt. 5:20, 16; 6:1). These righteous acts are called sacrifices (Heb. 13:16; Psalm 4:5; Rom. 12:1). Jesus Christ Himself says we must force ourselves into this kingdom (Luke 16:16). “The kingdom is within us,” He says in the true translation of Luke 17:21. Unless we practice righteousness daily for Jesus Christ, for repentance, we will all likewise perish (Luke 13:3, 5). Doesn’t it make sense that if we are going to be judged by our deeds, we had better make sure they are all righteous in God’s eyes (John 3:10; Rev. 20:12)? We are all going to be judged on judgment day by Jesus’ words, which He told us to keep (John 12:47-50). We need to be sure we understand these Scriptures and begin to change our ways to His Ways. Jesus says only those who have done the good deeds will come forth to a resurrection of life (John 5:29). Stop listening to those who confuse you and tell you differently. Live the good life—God’s Way of life! PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- Dealing With Sin in Your Life | Daily Grains
Dealing With Sin in Your Life Our Father wants us to overcome our evil natures by doing good every moment of every day. Who can stop you from only thinking good thoughts, from only saying good things and from only doing good things? Your old nature will try to stop you. Satan will try to tempt you. But who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? No one! So dwell not on evil and sin not. Dwell only on good and do only good for God! Then you will not carry out the desires of the flesh. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? 1 Peter 3:13 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. - Will You Be Faithful? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Will You Be Faithful? Jesus said, “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8). We need desperately to fully understand what Jesus Christ meant in this statement. There are different kinds of faith. There is the faith of Abraham. There is the faith of Jesus Christ. There is the faith that God will heal you, and the faith that He will forgive you. Some people have faith in the devil—the ruler of this world. Others have faith in the God of Abraham. Some have faith in their faith, which is their religion (Rom. 16:26). Others have no faith in man’s religions, but only trust their faith to Jesus Christ, who alone is faithful. Let us clear up, once and for all, the truth behind the word “faith” and its many meanings. God came to this earth some 2,000 years ago in human form to show us His Ways so that we could do His Will on this earth daily as it is being done in heaven daily (Matt. 6:10). He said those Ways are very easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30). God’s Ways represent God’s faith. Jesus Christ kept those Ways perfectly while He was here on this earth. He was faithful (Heb. 2:17). He kept the faith. He performed God’s Will. Jesus not only showed us those Ways, He told us about those Ways also. He did this so we could have an example to follow. He also gave us a written record of those Ways in His word, the Bible. Faith involves trust. When you know what the Lord expects of you, and you do those things daily, you are keeping the faith. You are pleasing the Father daily, just like Jesus did. As a result, you can trust the Lord to fulfill the Scriptures for you pertaining to the righteous. You can trust Jesus Christ to carry out His word in your life and take care of all your needs, wants and desires (Matt. 6:33). No good thing will God withhold from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11). God expects us to offer the sacrifice of righteousness and trust in the Lord (Psalm 4:5). That sacrifice is continually doing good and sharing because it pleases God (Heb. 13:16). Therefore, if we are continually doing good toward others, we can have faith that our prayers will be heard. That’s how simple it is to keep Jesus Christ’s commandments (1 John 3:22). Faith means obedience to God’s Ways. Unfaithfulness means disobedience to God’s Ways. Belief means obedience to Jesus Christ’s words, and unbelief is failing to practice God’s Ways toward others. Faith means trusting in God and not leaning on your own understanding. Faith means this, and so much more. Having faith means consistency in giving. The new covenant is full of Scriptures regarding giving as well as supporting a righteous cause. “Give, and it will be given to you,” God promises in Luke 6:38. In this Scripture, God is referring to giving to others who are in need. This could include giving clothes or food to someone in need. It could include giving shelter to someone who needs a place to stay (Matt. 25:33-40). It can also include giving financial support to a truly worthy cause. It is plain to see that Jesus was supported in His cause by many who believed in what He was doing. There were many who supported Him, not just a few (Luke 8:3). I know that if I were called of the Lord 2,000 years ago, I would have supported His cause. The gospel of Jesus Christ was preached around the whole world in Jesus’ day. He sent out His apostles to Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria and eventually to the remotest parts of the earth (Acts 1:8). It says the gospel will again be preached to the whole world, in the last days before the return of Jesus Christ (Matt. 24:14). We are preaching and publishing that same gospel and truth now, throughout the world, exposing the religious lies that have been taught in the name of Jesus Christ. We are all being called for one great purpose—to be faithful. Will you be faithful to God and His Ways? Will you be consistent in your faithfulness? Be faithful and support this great work of the Lord that is going out to the world and changing lives. By doing so, you too are a fellow worker for the Lord as it says in 3 John 7-8. To be part of the Lord’s work, in whatever way He calls us to be, is the greatest blessing and honor we could ever hope to be a part of in our lifetime. - The New Covenant Spirit | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The New Covenant Spirit "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength" (Mark 12:30). This means that you shall serve only Him, love only Him, obey only Him, please only Him, worship only Him, glorify only Him, and do only His Will. This means you shall only do those things that are pleasing in His sight (John 8:29; 2 Cor. 5:9). You shall do well, practice righteousness and patience toward others, and continually do acts of kindness and charity (Matt. 5:16; 1 John 4:7). This means you must put up with the short-comings of others, forgive everyone their trespasses against you daily, and practice all the fruits of the Spirit (Matt. 6:14; Gal. 5:22-23). You are to always be in a joyful mood and make every day a day you live for God. Then, when it is God’s day, it will be a good day. Are all of your ways pleasing to God today? Are you going to please Him in all things or some things? Pleasing God in all things is being single-minded, not double-minded (James 1:6, 8). Are you going to do only God’s Will today, or a little bit of Satan’s too, by living to please the flesh? Are you bringing all your ways into subjection to Christ (2 Cor. 10:5)? Are you doing what Christ would have you do, or are you holding out a little? Is your heart pure before God, or partially pure? Are you off to a physical start each day, or are you off to a spiritual start by studying God’s word? Do you think of pleasing God all day, or do you even think about Him at all? What do you think about the most each day? Do you give God all of your troubles, or do you try to solve them yourself without His help (1 Peter 5:7)? Are you still trying to do God’s job of converting your spouse (1 Peter 3:1)? Who do you think you are - God? Remember, God is the only one who can convert or change any person. He is the one who causes the growth (1 Cor. 3:7). We should teach by our example. Then we know that we have the log out of our own eye and are ready to give a good answer when asked (Matt. 7:3-5; 2 Tim. 2:15). Many religious people are trying to convert the world to their beliefs when they are still unconverted before God themselves. We are to love the Lord wholeheartedly and we are to love our neighbor as ourselves (Mark 12:31). When we wholeheartedly serve others for the Lord, we are wholeheartedly serving the Lord (Matt 25:40). We cannot do one without doing the other, and when we do both, we are keeping the commandments in the New Covenant spirit.
