- How to Live a Happy Life | Daily Grains
How to Live a Happy Life God’s word says that supreme happiness comes from being totally selfless. This is done by becoming a full-time servant of others. On the surface, this sounds like it is a supreme sacrifice on one’s part, but that notion couldn’t be further from the truth. Happiness comes from serving others, and teaching yourself to be totally outward is sheer health to your bones. If you don’t want the problems that others have, then help others who have those problems. This is a way of life that takes total commitment. But who wouldn’t totally commit themselves to being happy if they could be assured of the outcome? This assurance comes from the many changed lives of individuals who have started and finished before you. You can see by their lives that there has been a positive change for the good so, indeed, this is the truth. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. 5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 2:3-5 Let no one seek his own good, but that of his neighbor. 1 Corinthians 10:24 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil. 8 It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones. Proverbs 3:7-8 We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 1 Thessalonians 5:14 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 "And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:26 PREV NEXT Click below for full Bible Study: How to Live a Happy Life

- Living to the Spirit | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Living to the Spirit A disciple of Jesus Christ, after baptism, is to live to the Spirit in order to please God. How is this done? Before you became a disciple of Jesus Christ, you were by nature living to the flesh. That means that you were thinking your own thoughts and saying your own words. You were directing your own steps and living the way you thought was best. Now you have agreed to live your life to please God, like our example Jesus Christ did. Living to the Spirit is living to please the Father, who gives His Spirit to those who obey Him (Acts 5:32). What does the Father want us to do in order to live to the Spirit? He wants us to glorify Him by doing good works (Eph. 2:10; Matt. 5:16). Why is doing good works so important? Doing good works is how we produce good fruits on our spiritual trees, and how we build godly character (Matt. 3:10). The Father does good works, and we are to imitate Him (Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1; 1 John 2:6; 3 John 11; 1 Peter 2:21). Doing good works allows a disciple of Christ to be blessed (Mal. 3:10). Good works was the main ingredient in the process by which Jesus overcame, and Jesus said many of those who followed Him would do greater good works than He did (John 14:12). Doing good works is how we overcome evil and how we learn to be servants of others for the glory of God. Doing good works is how we discipline ourselves for the purpose of godliness (1 Tim. 4:7). Doing the works that Jesus Christ did is how we overcome and how we receive a new heart (Rev. 2:26). When we overcome our old nature, we enter the kingdom of God or God’s rest (Heb. 4:10; Rev. 3:21). Then our joy is made full and we have an abundant life (John 10:10). When all we sow is righteousness, like Christ our example, then all we reap is blessings. Then we are truly living to the Spirit. Many people believe we live this way naturally after accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. Scripture shows clearly that this is a false conception. Look at the world. It is a mess! Many people who claim to be Christians are practicing a faith without good works. As a result, they remain spiritually dead in their faith (James 2:14-26). They are becoming religious, but not holy; and without holiness, no one will see the Lord (Heb. 12:14, King James Version). We cannot possibly be holy without obeying and practicing the words of Jesus Christ each day (John 8:51; Luke 6:46). This takes godly discipline, but just remember, it is easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30). It is wonderful. Try it! You will love it and the Lord will love you too. - Dealing With Resentement | Daily Grains
Dealing With Resentement Resentment is a very treacherous thing. It is dangerous because it builds so slowly, we often are not even aware of its presence. Resentment kills people, destroys marriages, causes misunderstandings between friends, and is an enemy of all happiness. It can be present in almost every situation in life. Resentment actually eats us alive. It devours us from the inside out. It causes sleepless nights, worry, frustration, anxiety and stress. Some people eat more, craving for some pleasures in life, something to soothe a troubled mind. Life sometimes becomes a living hell. The apostle Paul said, "I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against my mind, making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in the members of my body. Oh, wretched person that I am, who will set me free from this body of death? Thanks be to God, through our Lord Jesus Christ. So on the one hand I am serving the law of God, while at the same time I am living in my sinful body. But there is no condemnation for those who live to please their Lord Jesus Christ.” Did Jesus carry resentment in His heart for those who killed Him? No! He overcame resentment with pure love. “Forgive them, Father, for they do not know what they are doing,” He said. Destroy resentment by giving it no place in your life! Start now. If you don’t, it will destroy you. It has already harmed you, but you didn’t realize it before. Now you know what to do about it. Forgive everyone all the time; and be like Jesus Christ, our example. But I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members. 24 Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? 25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin. Romans 7:23-25 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34 PREV NEXT Click below for full Bible Study: Resentment

- Give Your Anxieties to God | Daily Grains
Give Your Anxieties to God Christ commands us to cast our anxieties on Him. He says we are to practice thinking only what is beautiful and peaceful. We are to seek peace and pursue it earnestly and turn away from evil by doing good for Him daily. This is the Will of God. We are to clean up our speech, clean up our thoughts and clean up our actions by practicing righteousness daily to glorify God. We are to pray to God for all our needs and wants, as well as for the needs and wants of others. Then, we are to have confidence that we will receive what we have asked of God in our prayers because we are living to please Him daily. Jesus Christ wants us to enter the good life that He has waiting for us. We enter this good life when we start doing good for others for the glory of God. This is how Christ is formed in us and we become new creations. Our anxieties begin to disappear when we enter this good life and rest from all our works of the flesh. Casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 He must turn away from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. 1 Peter 3:11 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:11 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. 1 John 3:22 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. - Did Jesus Faith Have Good Works? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Did Jesus Faith Have Good Works? Jesus said, "My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working; My food is to do the Will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work" (John 5:17; 4:34). These verses say Jesus did the Will of the Father on earth as it is being done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). He was doing the Father’s works, which are all righteous (Rom. 10:3). Jesus Christ and His disciples subjected themselves to the righteousness of God. Jesus even said some who followed Him would do greater works than He did (John 14:12). A lot of people are ready to receive the message of the Way of righteousness today (John 4:35). They are hungry for it. John 4:36 says anyone who is living this Way is already receiving blessings and bearing fruit for eternal life (Matt. 5:19; 3:10; 1 John 3:7, 10, 17-20). Jesus Christ’s faith had works of righteousness (John 10:32, 37-38). He helped people in need of clothing or daily food (James 2:15-17). His faith was not dead but alive because of His good works (James 2:26). Jesus knew that a man is not justified by faith alone, nor by works based on the law of Moses, but by works of righteousness done for God’s glory (James 2:24; Rom. 3:20; Matt. 5:16). Jesus’ works were not based on self-righteousness, which is righteousness of the flesh, but on the righteousness of faith (Rom. 3:27). So also, our works are to be based on the righteousness of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. By doing these works of righteousness, our faith is perfected (James 2:22). Yes, faith without works - daily good works - is dead (James 2:26)! We glorify God by doing good deeds - deeds of charity, deeds of love, lending and giving to those in need and expecting nothing in return, entertaining strangers (which is opening our homes to those in need), visiting the sick, helping the poor, feeding the hungry and never returning evil for evil (Matt. 25:33-40). We must overcome our natures by doing all these good deeds or works for God on a daily basis (Rom. 12:21; Rev. 2:26; 1 Peter 3:13). Begin today to suffocate your old nature and its evil ways. This will allow God to put it to death and give you His nature (Rom. 16:20; Gal. 4:19). As you do, you will begin to realize why a faith without good works is dead, yes, truly dead! - The Importance of Studying Your Bible | Daily Grains
The Importance of Studying Your Bible Part of the Will of God is to study the Bible. Many who study the Bible, study for information rather than correction. Disciples of Jesus Christ are admonished not to be foolish, but understand what the Will of God is. It appears that people who claim to be His disciples today are least informed about this aspect of spiritual and godly living. God’s word says that all Scripture is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction and training in how to practice righteousness, so that the man of God may know how to do good to please God. How many people have studied the life of Christ for many years, but have never started to live like Him? We are to imitate Jesus Christ and the Father by daily practicing the sayings of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ words will judge all humanity at the end of the age. The central teaching of the Bible is to engage in a life of good deeds, endure and not become weary in well-doing, and overcome our evil natures by doing good deeds. If this is the kind of peculiar people Christ is making for Himself—and He is—we should then be studying the Bible to train ourselves in righteousness. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:17 For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Colossians 1:9 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:1 If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. John 12:47-48 And having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 19 I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification. Romans 6:18-19 Who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. - The Positive Gospel | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The Positive Gospel The word of God contains instructions concerning things true disciples of Jesus Christ are to do. If we do these things, God promises to pour out blessings on us until they overflow (Mal. 3:10). What are some of the things we are instructed to do? We are commanded by Jesus Christ and God the Father to: 1) Consider our old self dead (Rom. 6:4,11). 2) Cast all our anxieties on Christ. That means our cares, worries, doubts and troubles (1 Peter 5:7-9; Matt 11:28-29). 3) Seek peace and pursue it constantly (1 Peter 3:11). 4) Think on things that are beautiful and lovely (Phil. 4:8). 5) Keep our eyes from seeing violence (Psalm 11:5). 6) Say only what is uplifting, building up one another and never tearing down (1 Peter 4:11). 7) No longer use our mouths for both good and evil, but only for good, as we strive to do only God's Will in our daily lives (Psalm 34:13-14; Col. 3:17; Luke 13:24). 8) Commit our jobs to the Lord and work for our employers as if we were working for the Lord (Eph. 6:5-9). We are to do this even more so if our employers are mean or rude, as it pleases the Lord when we suffer for the sake of righteousness. We have been called for such suffering because it builds godly character (1 Peter 2:18-19; 3:16). 9) Think God's thoughts and stop thinking our own thoughts (Is. 55:8; Prov. 12:5). 10) Speak God's words, not our own words (1 Peter 4:11). 11) Live only to the Spirit and thus put to death the deeds of the flesh. We are not to live our lives for self any longer (Rom. 15:3). Instead, we are to imitate God's Way of life in our mortal bodies (Eph. 5:1). This is to prepare us for the glorified body we are destined to receive at the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:13; Gal. 5:16, 19-25; 6:7-9). Jesus Christ came here to show those who would repent how to turn from their wicked ways so that He could bless them (Acts 3:26). All it involves is practicing to be a servant of others daily, until we come out of a life of selfishness and inwardness. This is the positive gospel that Jesus Christ came to show us (Matt. 20:26-28; 23:11; Mark 9:35; 10:43-45; Rom. 15:2-3; 1 Cor. 10:24). If we live by these principles, our lives will be positively blessed, joyful and complete! - Baking With Whole Wheat: A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Baking With Whole Wheat: A Woman to Woman Article As homemakers, we have choices when we cook and bake things for our families and others. We have a variety of sweeteners such as sugar, honey, maple syrup, and molasses. We have a variety of flours such as bleached or unbleached white flour, rye flour, or whole wheat flour. We can choose from fresh, frozen, or canned fruits and vegetables. Quality is our choice. Quality is our choice when it comes to the way we live spiritually, as well as physically. Jesus Christ tells us about the most high quality bread of all—the “bread of life.” In John 6:35 He says, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me (obeys, trusts and has faith in) shall never thirst.” This is an awesome spiritual bread that so completely satisfies all aspects of our lives. This bread Jesus Christ was speaking of is the Way of life we share with you in every Whole Wheat issue. Whole Wheat newsletter is the product of a vision a man had when he approached my husband. The man saw loaves of bread, whole wheat bread, stored up and waiting to be shared with the world. The man was awestruck at what he saw. Little did he realize that my husband had been writing researched Bible study articles for years, and he eagerly desired to share them with the world. These articles explain clearly that Jesus came to show us how to be wheat instead of tares. In the parable found in Matthew 13:24-30, the wheat and tares grew together until harvest. At harvest time, the tares were removed and burned. The wheat was bundled up to be saved and stored in the barn. God will spare us, too, if we are wheat (righteous, godly, good for something). By living His Ways, we become fully converted and become whole wheat who live to please God by serving others daily. In Luke 11:3, we are taught to pray, “Give us this day our daily bread.” Our spiritual daily bread is allowing the Lord to teach us by studying His word daily—the bread of God which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world (John 6:33). The bread of life (Jesus Christ) gives life (a Way of life) to the world. This Way of life is full of blessings, instead of curses, because we put Jesus’ words into action. What is the big bonus for eating of this “bread of life,” or living to please God every day? John 6:51 says, “I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he shall live forever.” Do you want to live forever? Do you want to be blessed? Do you want to be happy? The key to eternal life, blessings, and happiness goes back to fulfilling the basics: 1. Study God’s word daily! 2. Pray for others and your own needs! 3. Live to please God by serving others continually, especially the less fortunate! These are ingredients for a quality life, made of wholesome ingredients…so let’s get cooking! - Perfect: A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Perfect: A Woman to Woman Article Most every girl dreams of the “perfect life.” She dreams of that special, awesome day when she’ll walk down the aisle to wed the man of her dreams and when she’ll have her own little house to take care of. As she dreams of her perfect house with her perfect man, she tends to forget that she must become the perfect woman. Isn’t this true? Being the perfect woman is very easy. The perfect woman of God puts God first by studying her Bible, praying and looking for opportunities to serve God, and continually doing good for God each day - doing all she does, even the most mundane tasks, for the glory of God. She is prepared to serve others at anytime and prays for others continually. Perfect means spiritually mature, stable, steadfast and immovable—continually serving God. Her life is centered around helping others to please God. She is a shining light in a dark world (Matt. 5:16). When she gives a lunch or party, she includes those who cannot pay her back—the blind, lowly, handicapped, orphans or widows (Luke 14:13-14). Proverbs 31:10-31 describes the perfect godly woman and Jesus Christ says to be perfect, as our heavenly Father is perfect (Matt. 5:48). When a woman strives to be perfect, she is a jewel to God and to her husband; in fact, she is worth far more than jewels, according to Proverbs 31:10. The godly woman represents strength and dignity, and she never points her finger or speaks wickedness about anyone (Prov. 31:25; Is. 58:9). When she opens her mouth she is kind, and uses wisdom, in her speech. She is caring, loving, compassionate and understanding, teaching God’s Ways of charity to others. She takes good care of her home and sees that it is clean. She is not lazy (Prov. 31:27). Her children love her and have only good to say about her (Prov. 31:28). She is like Dorcas—continually abounding with deeds of kindness and charity (Acts 9:36). “Charm is deceitful; beauty is vain; but a woman who fears (obeys) the Lord, she shall be praised” (Prov. 31:30). Study Proverbs 31:10-31. It is one of the greatest sets of Scriptures in the Bible because it offers guidelines on how to be a godly woman. We want to be aware of what God expects of a godly woman, so we can please Him in all our ways and be a perfect woman of God. - Charity the Hidden Gospel | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Charity the Hidden Gospel Jesus taught the complete message of God in parable form many times throughout His ministry. He said He would open His mouth in parables and reveal information that has been hidden from man since the foundation of the world (Matt. 13:35). He spoke in mysteries because salvation was not being granted to everyone, only to those who were chosen and called by the Father (John 15:16; 13:18; Rev. 17:14). It was only granted to those given ears to hear, and eyes to see and understand the simple message of salvation (John 6:44, 65; 3:9-12). One mysterious parable about the kingdom that describes how to be made anew through conversion to God is found in Luke, chapter 11. Jesus said to a Pharisee, “Give that which is within as charity, and then all things are clean for you” (Luke 11:41). God’s word says that one who has perfect love does no harm to another person, but only good. The word charity is used often in God’s word, but it has been replaced by the word love. By substituting the word charity for love, we may better understand what Jesus said to the Pharisee in parable form (Prov. 10:12). When you use your mouth as an instrument of unrighteousness by swearing, cursing or talking foolishly, you are not walking charitably with your neighbor or fellow man. When you help a widow or orphan in need, you are practicing charity before God (James 1:27). When all areas of your life are charitable toward others, you have been perfected in love. You have overcome the evil one (1 John 2:13-14). You have become spiritually perfect or mature (Matt. 5:48). Jesus told the Pharisee the message of how to overcome in parable form so he would not understand it. However, He privately explained the parables He used to His own disciples (Mark 4:33-34). The parable revealed how to repent, how to be a new creature, and how to be obedient to God. The phrase, “then all things will be clean for you,” means that all areas of your life will be in harmony with God’s Will when you have been perfected in charity. You will be clean, with sins forgiven (1 Peter 4:8). God the Father has been calling a few people from every age to be His followers. They imitate Him and keep His Ways (Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1). In Elijah’s day, there were 7,000 (1 Kings 19:14-18). In Noah’s day, there was just one (Gen. 7:1). During the last days, which we have now entered, there will be the great final harvest. Many will be called to a life of holiness, but few will heed the call. Many are called but few are chosen (Matt. 22:14). Out of all who heed the call to holiness through overcoming, only those who endure to the end will be saved (Rev. 2:26; Matt. 24:13; 10:22; 2 Tim. 2:12). So by all means, continually give that which is within to charity by continuing to perform good works of love toward all others until you have Jesus Christ’s new nature formed within you (Gal. 4:19). As you continually practice righteousness for God, you will enter the kingdom within, which is true godly conversion (1 John 2:29; Matt. 5:20; Luke 17:21). - What is the Best Bible Translation? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search What is the Best Bible Translation? The best translation of the Bible is the one that has the clearest meaning to the key verses that explain how to live the Way that Jesus Christ lived. One example is Titus 2:14. In the original Greek it says, "…cleanse for Himself a people zealous for good works." In the King James Version it says, "purify unto Himself a peculiar people zealous of good works." The New American Standard Version says, "…zealous for good deeds," and so does the Revised Standard Version. The Living Bible, the New International Version, and other modern language versions change, water down and distort this verse, along with Titus 3:8-14. If you do not maintain good works or good deeds, you have stopped bearing good fruit for God (Matt. 3:10). If you are not zealous for good deeds, you are leaving a door open through which you can be tempted by Satan (1 Peter 3:13; 5:8). Do you think Jesus Christ overcame the world by doing nothing? Of course not. He overcame the world by doing the Father’s Will - which is righteousness - every day. Jesus only lived to do good towards others, as He instructed us to do daily. Jesus never lived to do His own will but only the Father’s Will, continually (John 6:38). To bear fruit for God is to practice righteousness (Col. 1:10). To bear fruit is to be a doer of the word (James 1:22). To bear fruit is to experience a change of nature, a change of heart and a change of attitude, as happy slaves of Jesus Christ, until we finally do the Will of God from the heart (Matt. 5:16, 20; 6:1; Eph. 6:6). The Will of God is righteousness and that is what we are to practice. We do the practicing so God can do the perfecting. The Bible with the clearest meaning and the most reliable to the original Greek is the 1977 New American Standard Version, but always have a King James Version close by to double-check some passages, as it is the oldest version but not always the easiest to understand. Try comparing 2 Timothy 2:15, Hebrews 12:14, 1 John 5:7 and Acts 12:4 in the New American Standard 1977 and the King James Version. The 1995 New American Standard Version has very slight differences and has updated some words for more "modern reading" so we may reference it in some of our features for that reason, however, we rely on the 1977 NASB as a general rule for study purposes as being the most reliable and accurate. On occasion we may reference other translations only for the purpose of clarity and expanding the understanding of the Scripture. If you do not have the other translations available to you, you can find them easily online for a quick reference. We also may refer to Noah's 1828 Dictionary, which we consider a valuable resource that also references Scripture itself. All that being said, of course, if you have a Bible that you love and are wearing out for God, by studying it daily, just continue and the Lord will continue to teach you through His word, as you seek Him for understanding in all things (John 14:26) PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- Charity Defined | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Charity Defined Now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. For charity shall cover a multitude of sins. —1 Corinthians 13:13 (King James Version). Jesus Christ was continually going about telling others about the true message of salvation. Many times, however, He would tell the message of the kingdom of God in parable form because He did not want people to know the message (Matt. 13:11, 14-17, 35; Mark 4:33-34). One such parable is found in Luke 11:41. Jesus told the Pharisees the true gospel in parable form. A parable is a riddle, a dark saying (Ezek. 17:2; Psalm 78:2) or a figurative language (John 16:25). Jesus said in Luke 11:41, “Give that which is within to charity, and then all things are clean for you.” Let’s say it in plain language instead of in a mystery form or a figurative language. “Make yourself a new heart, one that is charitable, and I will forgive all your sins. Continually do good to please Me and I will make you clean by forgiving your sins.” Remember, the Pharisees did their righteousness out in the open to be seen of men, so they would be thought of as righteous. Jesus said you must do your righteousness in secret from within, and glorify your Father in heaven by your good works. Charity covers a multitude of sins and makes you clean (1 Peter 4:8). Charity is serving the poor, the needy, the lame, the blind, the elderly, the widow and the orphan. Charity is helping those who need clothes, those who need money, those who need help, those who need love or compassion. All these things and more are covered by the word charity. What does Webster’s Dictionary have to say about charity? Webster’s New International Dictionary, 1909 says: Charity, n.;1. Christian love; of the New Testament; a. the divine love to man; b. Human love to God and one’s neighbor. Christian love of one’s fellow men; Christian benevolence; 2. More generally, love; benevolence; good will; affection; an act or feeling of affection or benevolence. 3. Liberality or lenience in judging of men and their actions; a disposition that inclines men to put the best construction on the words and actions of others. The highest exercise of charity is charity toward the uncharitable. 4. Good will to the poor and suffering; liberality to the poor, to benevolent institutions, or to worthy causes; generosity; charitableness; alms giving; hence; the public provision for the care or relief of the poor. 5. Acts or works of benevolence to the poor. 6. Whatever is bestowed gratuitously on the needy or the suffering for their relief; alms. After reading these definitions of the word charity, look up 1 Corinthians 13. In the many translations of the Bible, “love” has been corruptly substituted for the word “charity.” If you look up the Greek word translated “love” (Strong’s Concordance reference no. 26) in The Englishman’s Greek Concordance of the New Testament, you will discover it is often translated “charity” in the King James Version. A few examples are 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, Colossians 3:14, 2 Timothy 3:10 and Titus 2:2. It’s evident when you look at the dictionary definitions of charity that charity is all God ever expected from anyone who would profess His name. God would live a life full of charity if He were walking among us in the flesh today. This is how we are to live on earth and imitate Him as He lives in heaven (Eph. 5:1). This is how God’s Will is done on this earth as it is in heaven (Matt 6:10). Very simple, but simply not known, not preached, or not practiced by the majority of those who proclaim to be disciples of Jesus Christ (Luke 6:46). - Glorifying God in Your Life | Daily Grains
Glorifying God in Your Life Those who put confidence in the flesh are those who think they are not such bad people. The good they do puffs them up and fortifies the assumption that they are good people. On the other hand, Jesus and Paul both knew that no matter how much good they did, while in the flesh, it would not make them good people. That is why the good they did was to glorify the Father and not self. They lived to glorify the Spirit (which is God), not the flesh. Think about this. Can you think of any other way of overcoming evil other than by doing good? If you did good to glorify self, would that not that be evil? Instead of seeking your own good, the Lord wants you to seek the good of your neighbor, as a happy slave of Christ, doing the Will of God from the heart. If you empty yourself and take on the form of a servant as Christ did, you will have perfect peace and you will be giving that which is within as charity. And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone." Luke 18:19 Let no one seek his own good, but that of his neighbor. 1 Corinthians 10:24 It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, 27 and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. - God's Judgment on a Nation | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search God's Judgment on a Nation When God pronounces judgment on a nation through a prophet, there is a space of time given in which the people are allowed to repent. First, they must hear what they are doing wrong (Ezek. 3:17-19, 21). Then, they must be told how to repent by doing what is right. Notice that after Daniel told Nebuchadnezzar how to repent, 12 months went by before the curse announced by the angel of God came to pass (Dan. 4:27, 29, 37). The Apostle Peter describes the repentant life saying, cease to do evil, learn to do good (1 Peter 3:8-12; Is. 1:16-17). If the people were practicing wickedness, they had to stop doing those things and start practicing righteousness for God. If the people were using their bodies to do evil, they were told to begin to use their bodies to do good (Rom. 6:13; 12:1, 21). When the King of Nineveh heard of impending judgment on his city, he issued a proclamation that all the people, herds and flocks should fast from eating food and drinking water. Then, he commanded all his people to cease from sinning, to cease from all forms of wickedness and violence. When God saw their deeds, that they had turned from their wicked ways, He did not do what He had declared He would do to them (Jonah 3:6-10). The word of God says there is only one way to repent and turn from your wicked ways and that is by doing good deeds for God (Acts 26:20). That is how you turn away from your evil ways (Job 1:1; 2:3). It is the only Way! It is the narrow Way that few find (Matt. 7:14). It is ridiculous to think that a person can repent by doing nothing, as millions are erroneously being taught today. You cannot repent by living a life of doing nothing for your Savior, Jesus Christ. God says doers of the word are the only ones who are justified among those who call themselves followers of Jesus Christ (James 2:24). Now is the time to repent before God so that when God brings this nation into judgment for its sins, you will not be part of that judgment. God is going to send curses upon the whole world to test the people of the world (Rev. 3:10). He is going to determine who the righteous and the wicked will be (Mal. 3:18). He wants to know who will be the sheep and serve others by doing good for God, and who will be the goats because they refuse to repent and do good for God (Matt. 25: 33, 40, 46). - The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand The kingdom of heaven is entered by repentance. Jesus Christ’s words confirm this (Matt. 4:17). So, to enter the kingdom of heaven and receive eternal life, all one needs to know is how to repent according to God’s word. It is one thing to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and say the Sinner’s prayer from your heart (Eph. 2:8-9). It is another thing to prove your repentance daily by what you think, do and say from that point forward (Eph. 2:10). There are people who continue to live their old sinful lives and continue in their old sinful ways, believing that by some miracle they are saved (Gal. 5:19-21). Many are being told they are saved when they were never even told how to repent. As a result, they continue to live detestable and disobedient lives before God because nothing changes in their lives (Titus 1:16). They continue to live detestable lives because they are not doing good toward others for God daily. God wants us to cease from a life of doing evil by beginning a life of doing good. He wants us to be outgoing, charitable, loving, giving, kind, gracious, honest, honorable and compassionate people (Gal. 5:22-25; Prov. 19:22). He says He will cause growth in us if we will put these principles into practice toward one another daily (1 Cor. 3:7). He wants us to come out of self by doing good for others continually (Rom. 12:21; 1 Peter 3:10-11). He wants us to love our neighbors by helping and serving them and by doing good to them daily. This is how Jesus Christ’s true followers live (Acts 9:36). This is true repentance. Jesus came here not only to die for our sins, but also to be our example of how to overcome (1 Peter 2:21; Rev. 3:21). He came here to show us how to repent so we will live forever (Psalm 37:27). Jesus Christ wants us to live by His words and act on them daily (John 8:51; 11:26; Matt. 7:24; Luke 8:21). God’s Will is righteousness because all God’s Ways are righteous (Psalm 145:17). When we do God’s Will daily, as we are supposed to do, we are practicing righteousness for God. We are pleasing Him in all we think, say and do and we are walking in the light of God’s word (1 John 1:7). We are effectual doers of God’s word and we begin to be blessed in all we do (James 1:22, 25). When we do God’s Will, we will have our prayers answered and we will live forever (John 9:31; 1 John 2:17). Now is the time to repent and enter God’s glorious, good life that is waiting for you (Matt. 7:21). This is the true message of the kingdom of heaven. - How to Endure in Your Walk | Daily Grains
How to Endure in Your Walk We know those who do wrong suffer. But is there suffering for those who are doing what is right? First Peter 3:17 says, "It is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong." Yes, God allows us to go through suffering for a very distinct purpose. God has opened our eyes to repentance by good works. He has shown us how to live each day, letting our lights shine for Him. We're going through the growth process. We are learning every day how to be more like our Father who created us to do good works. As we learn, we go through tests and trials. Through these tests and trials, we learn all of God's Ways. The nature that we were all born with needs to die. Our hearts are desperately sick, beyond all understanding. We see that clearly as we go through tests, just as the Apostle Paul did. This is why true disciples of Jesus Christ persevered in doing good works for God. They were seeking for glory and honor and immortality. How many who profess Jesus as their Savior are doing that today? Suffering wrong as the wages of doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are stains and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, as they carouse with you. 2 Peter 2:13 For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong. 1 Peter 3:17 First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds. Acts 26:20 (NIV) Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. - Two Kinds of Meditation | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Two Kinds of Meditation Meditation according to the Bible “How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night” (Psalm 1:1-2). Wouldn’t it be fantastic if everyone loved his neighbor? Wouldn’t it be great if everyone did good to each other instead of harm? Wouldn’t it be great if no one stole, lied or cheated other people? Wouldn’t it be great if we lived in a world without locks, keys and combinations to remember? That world is coming for those who care about righteousness and who care about others. Think about it. Meditate on these things and other good things in God’s word. This is meditation according to God’s word (Psalm 1:2-3; Psalm 119:15; Phil. 4:8). In order to properly understand meditation, we should know its definition. Webster’s Dictionary, 1937 edition, defines the word “meditation” as follows: 1) Act of meditating thought, especially close or continued thought; turning or revolving of a subject in the mind. 2) A private religious or devotional exercise; consideration of some religious or moral truth, in order to promote personal holiness and love of God (Psalm 77:12; 119:15, 23, 27, 48, 78; 143:5; 145:5; Heb. 12:3 AMP). There is another meditation that is deceiving the world. Those who practice this type of meditation are naïve and gullible. If those who practice this type of meditation only knew the secrets of what they are not being told, they would stop immediately because they would realize they are being tricked and deceived by those who are deceived themselves or else know the truth and aren’t telling it (2 Cor. 4:2; Eph. 4:14). Worldly meditation In Revelation 12:3 God’s word says, “And another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his head were seven diadems.” This great red dragon who was thrown down is that serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan (Rev. 12:9). Satan is called the god with a thousand names who comes in a thousand different forms. One of his forms is that of the red dragon. Very few realize that the great red dragon is worshiped by those who meditate in Eastern or New Age style meditation. Let us uncover the religious lie in the raising of the kundalini. In the book Kundalini and the Third Eye, authors Earlyne C. Chaney and William L. Messick discuss kundalini (chapter three, page 20). They say arousing and raising kundalini is perfectly natural since kundalini is already a part of your natural being. As long as it remains coiled at the base of the spine, it becomes the down-flowing serpent, “the red dragon” [this is Satan] stimulating the reproductive organs toward the natural sex cycle. The authors go on to say that meditation seems to be the safest, the surest and the shortest pathway to God realization. The lower chakra at the base of the spine is called the kundalini chakra. Kundalini means coiled snake or serpent. It is also called the sex chakra. You can raise this serpent power by sitting in the lotus position and chanting a mantra. The lotus position is said to help you reach your root chakra and red energy. The mantra most used is that of O.M. or A.U.M. This is considered the mother of all mantras. This word should not be repeated. Very few people know the full meaning of that mantra. Very few people know that this word calls their god, Satan, into their presence. Satan is worshiped in his many different forms or by his many different names through this mantra. By meditation and using the mantra O.M. one can raise this serpent power called the “red dragon” until he or she (the initiate) becomes, according to Kundalini and the Third Eye, p. 21, the Nagas, the true and perfect Serpent. Oxford Language dictionary states the Nagas is a member of a semidivine race, part human, part cobra. What you are not being told is that you will be totally overcome with Satan’s nature. You will become an adept, a full initiate of Satan. Webster’s New International Dictionary of the English Language, 1910 edition, page 1173, says, “Jupiter Optimus Maximus, often written Jupiter O.M.; best and greatest.” Jupiter is another name for Satan with his secret initials O.M., which happens to be his mantra. He is the god of secret societies throughout the world, as well as many major religions of the world—which are pagan. Chanting O.M. is meant to bring you into a trance like state so you can join the universal mind. And using namaste is saying, “ I bow to the god within you” again, this is not referring to our Lord Jesus Christ. When the Israelites were taken out of Egypt and brought into the promised land, they were told not to imitate other nations in regard to the way they worshiped their gods (Deut. 12:30). Those nations had done every abomination imaginable in their form of worship to their gods (Deut. 12:31). Satan’s religion is referred to as the “Old Religion” and old it is. It started in the Garden of Eden and resulted in the world being destroyed by God in a flood when it polluted the planet with its teachings. They really aren’t new teachings, but very old. Satan is worshiped in sexual orgies and other debaucheries. This brings up another type of meditation—sexual meditation. For reasons of decency we cannot go into detail. Suffice it to say that in the past, God Almighty destroyed such mighty nations as Egypt, Greece and Rome, as well as Sodom and Gomorrah, for having orgies and practicing sexual meditation (1 Cor 10:8; 2 Cor. 12:21; 1 Thess. 4:3). What awaits a person who is raising the kundalini through deadly meditation? Let’s quote from Kundalini and the Third Eye. First, the initiate feels a warm or hot sensation at the bottom of his or her spine. The body becomes cold and corpse-like. Then the person begins to shudder, tremble or rock violently and hears strange sounds. He sees various lights, including an inner light. He may experience ego inflation, rampant sexual desires and a host of other ills. Yogis stress that the body must be properly attuned for kundalini through practicing yoga, and that a premature or explosive awakening can cause insanity or even death! According to Harper’s Encyclopedia of Mystical Paranormal Experience page 320, symptoms include involuntary jerking, or spasmodic body movements, or postures with pain, unusual breathing patterns, paralysis, tickling, itching, vibrating sensations, inner sounds such as roaring, whistling, or chirping. Read in Isaiah 8:19 about wizards who whisper and mutter. People do not realize that they are becoming fully possessed by the devil. The words whisper and mutter are translated as chirp, twitter, whisper or peep (like a bird) (6850 Strong’s Concordance), and moan, growl, utter or meditate (1897 Strong’s Concordance). Continuing in Harper’s Encyclopedia of Mystical Paranormal Experience page 320 says, those who practice yoga may suffer from insomnia, unusual or extreme emotions (emotional instability), intensified sex drive, distortions of thought processes, inability to think clearly, out-of-body experiences. The article says these bad symptoms can be alleviated by the introduction of a heavier diet and temporary cessation from meditation (p. 321). Let’s say it in plain language. These horrible conditions will stop if you put red meat (heavier diet) into your diet and stop meditating and practicing yoga! Being a vegetarian weakens your system and makes it easier for you to be possessed by demons, and this secret is kept from those using Eastern style meditation and yoga (Rom. 14:2). The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root yuj, meaning “to yoke,” or “to unite”. The practice aims to create union between body, mind and spirit, as well as between the individual self and universal consciousness. Who are you uniting with? It is certainly not God (Deut. 8:19; Eph. 5:6). All yoga stems from Eastern religion. Everything, about the practice of yoga and meditation, invites the wrong god to possess your body, mind and consciousness. Conclusion Harper’s Encyclopedia an account of a man called Gopi Krishna (1903-1984) is given on page 321. This man meditated every morning for three hours for seventeen years. On Christmas Day in 1937, he had an explosive roaring kundalini. This man was then plunged into twelve years of misery with the agonies of the mentally afflicted. It goes on to say that scientific research about kundalini remains in the infant stage hampered by its unpredictability. Another difficulty is the similarity of it to mental disturbances or stress. There you have it. If yoga and meditation were drugs with these negative side effects, it would never be allowed on the market. People do not want you to know the truth and that you will eventually be totally possessed by Satan, the great red dragon, as well as by other demons. You will receive god-consciousness, but it will be the wrong god, the god of this world, Satan the deceiver. Satan has religiously deceived the whole world into worshiping him and keeping his doctrines (Rev. 12:9). God’s word says if you live for self and practice the deeds of the flesh, you will die (John 8:24; Rom. 6:2). But if through God’s Spirit you are putting to death the evil deeds of the flesh by not giving in to them, and if you resist Satan daily by doing good for others, you will live forever (Rom. 8:13)! Overcoming evil by doing good for God is easy, pleasant, and fantastically rewarding. It is life-changing and it is how you glorify God on this earth and prove yourself to be a disciple of Jesus Christ (1 John 5:3 AMP; 1 John 2:14; John 15:8). As you can see, worldly meditation and yoga is not pleasing to God and does not honor Him in any way. By participating in these things, you are worshipping the god of this world, Satan (Matt. 4:10). And don’t be fooled by those who are slapping the name Christian on these practices to try and make them acceptable (Col. 2:8; Mark 7:8). There are clear differences between what God’s Word says on the subject and what the world is promoting: Godly meditation: -Fills your mind with Scripture and God’s Word -Promotes thinking and reflecting on God’s laws and precepts -Turning or revolving a godly subject in the mind -Thinking on the truth to promote the love of God and further holiness -Directs your mind toward God -Is a personal and individual practice of worship -Honors God (Josh. 1:7-9 AMP) Worldly meditation: -Empties your mind -Uses a mantra and hand signals that call to Satan -Uses the seated lotus position to help you connect to your root chakra and red energy -Rooted in pagan practices and eastern religion -Directs your mind to self -Can arouse sexual organs -Can cause physical and mental illness -Is a personal and/or group practice that worships the red god, Satan -Honors the god of this world, Satan (Rev. 12:9) God has asked us to separate ourselves from the world, not to join in (2 Cor. 6:17; John 15:19; 1 John 2:15 AMP). So many are participating in meditation and yoga with no true insight to what they are doing, and who they are actually worshipping by doing so (2 Cor. 11:3). We can clearly see that ignorance is not bliss. Educate yourself, and don’t be fooled, if you desire to honor God. You will be glad you did. - Are You a Hypocrite? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Are You a Hypocrite? You may have heard that a hypocrite is one who says one thing and does another. Although this is one of the definitions, God’s word indicates there are others also. The Pharisees or religious leaders of Jesus’ day were guilty of doing good for the wrong reasons. They did good to be seen of men. They wanted glory from men and not from God. When someone gave a large donation, the Rabbi would give that person honorable mention from the pulpit. These leaders would disfigure their faces when they fasted because they wanted everyone to know they were fasting. By doing this, they would be thought of as being righteous. Because these religious leaders were doing good for self and not in secret for God, they were hypocrites. These Pharisees were becoming more and more evil in their hearts because they were not overcoming evil by doing good daily for God. Instead, they were doing good for their own self esteem. They became more and more hypocritical until they were exposed by their own wickedness. This same thing is happening to some of the television evangelists today. You may think it is only a few, but keep your eyes open - be alert - the Lord will show you. Another type of hypocrite is the person who is double-minded. This person constantly professes what is right, yet constantly does what is wrong. This person has troubles because he is not doing right even though he professes it. He is a hypocrite because his life isn’t devoted to what is right. He is still very much in the world. He is worldly, carnal-minded, fleshly, and unstable in all his ways (James 1:8). Yet, because of inconsistency and wrong motives, they fall away and lose interest when tests and trials come (Matt. 13:21). The righteous must be tried and tested in order to build endurance and steadfastness so they will persevere to the end. You seek God by doing good to please Him daily (Rom. 3:10-12). By doing nothing, you remain a child of Satan (1 John 3:10). Many think the children of Satan do or practice what is wrong. They never consider that by doing nothing good, they are in fact doing evil. The sin of omission is the same as commission as far as God is concerned. If you are not doing good toward God daily, you remain an enemy of God because you are not practicing righteousness toward God and thus imitating Him (Eph. 5:1). Abraham practiced righteousness toward God when he did good unto the strangers in Genesis 18. Likewise, Lot was at the gate of the city looking for someone who needed a place to stay because he knew how dangerous it was for someone to stay outside in that evil city. He not only protected the strangers from evil, but he also entertained them with food and good company and gave them a place to rest. God considered Abraham and Lot righteous because of their conduct toward others. Job was also considered righteous because he constantly did good for God in all aspects of his life. Job knew he was going through a test from God (Job 2:10; 5:17-18; 13:9). Job helped the blind, the lame, the elderly, the widows and the orphans (Job 29:12-17). Many do not know that hidden in the book of Job is the fact that Job raised two orphans - a boy and a girl - and they ate at his table (Job 31:16-19). Yes, the Lord Himself said Job was righteous because of this. Job was turning away from evil by doing this (Job 1:1-8; 2:3). Can the Lord say these things about you, or are you still serving Satan by doing evil or doing nothing (1 John 3:7-10)? You cannot be holy and continue to do nothing for God. In fact, unless you are holy, you will not see the Lord (Heb. 12:10, 14) or be raised to immortality (John 5:29). Remember, only those who do good for God continually are of God (3 John 11). They are justified by Jesus Christ’s blood because they obey Him and become doers of God’s word (2 Tim. 3:17; James 1:22; 1 Peter 1:2). They will be the ones who receive glory, honor and immortality (Rom. 2:7, 10). We were created to do good works in the name of Jesus Christ for the glory of the Father (Eph. 2:10; Col. 3:17). Let’s not remain hypocrites or children of Satan. Instead let’s fulfill the purpose for which we were created. - You Must Be Born Again | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search You Must Be Born Again The most misunderstood subject in the world is that of being born again and as a result, many may lose their salvation. This subject is misunderstood because of religious deception. The most quoted and distorted verses on this subject are found in the third chapter of John. A Pharisee named Nicodemus, who was a leader of the Jews, came to Jesus by night. He came at night because he didn’t want to be seen by his fellow Pharisees and risk being ostracized or excommunicated. Nicodemus made a shocking proclamation to Jesus, saying, “We (meaning the Pharisees back at headquarters) know You have come from God as a teacher” (John 3:2). Jesus knew the Pharisees knew who He was, because they told Jesus they understood what He was saying. Their ears were opened by Jesus. God’s judgment was upon them in regard to their sin and eternal life. Jesus said, “Because you said, ‘We understand,’ your sin remains” (John 9:40-41). As a result, many of those Pharisees became obedient to the faith of Jesus (Acts 6:7). The Pharisees, or ministers, who would not repent were the ones who became Jesus’ mortal enemies. What is not brought out in Scripture is that there were tens of thousands of Jews believing Jesus and converting to the discipleship of Jesus Christ (Acts 21:20, refer to margin notes in NAS). Those who would not repent among the Jewish priests became Jesus’ worst enemies. They were the snakes Baptist John yelled at (Luke 3:7). Jesus called the religious leaders snakes too (Matthew 12:34). Making this background clear is necessary for us to realize who John the Baptist and Jesus Christ were addressing. After Nicodemus’ comment, Jesus began to explain to Nicodemus that a person must be born again. However, because of who he was, Jesus spoke in heavily guarded spiritual language He knew Nicodemus would not understand. He spoke in a parable, which is a dark saying, a riddle or a mystery (Matt. 13:11-16, 17, 35). Jesus answered Nicodemus and said, “Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). Notice, Jesus says the kingdom of God is entered. Now turn to Matthew 23:13 and notice how Jesus scolded the Pharisees because they did not enter in themselves. The Pharisees were not entering the kingdom of God. How can we identify those who have entered the kingdom of God? They become new creations, new creatures, new human beings who live spiritual lives on this earth as Jesus Christ did (Gal. 6:15). What are some other signs? These people have crucified the flesh with its evil passions and desires (Gal. 5:24). They walk by the Spirit now and because of this, they do not carry out the evil desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). Over a period of time, they have Christ formed in them (Gal. 4:19). How does this happen? They continually discipline themselves for the purpose of godliness (1 Tim. 4:7). Jesus Christ’s doctrine is a holy Way of life. It is a simple, continual Way of life that conforms your old way of life to God’s new Way of life (2 Cor. 5:17). According to God’s word, anyone who does not speak according to this Way is conceited, stupid and understands nothing (1 Tim. 6:3-4). Jesus said in the parable in John 3:5, that we must be born of water. What water is He talking about? We know about the baptism by water that was practiced 2,000 years ago (Matt. 3:15-17). But look! Jesus says, “Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life” (John 4:14). What was this water? It was Jesus’ works, both from Him directly and as described in passages throughout His word (Eph. 5:26; John 8:51). What did the last part of the verse, regarding the Spirit, mean? We must be born of the Spirit (John 3:5-8). Second Corinthians 3:17 simply states that “the Lord is the Spirit.” First Corinthians 12:13 says, “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body.” The full explanation of the parable beginning in John 3:5 is: 1. We should be baptized and receive the free gift of God’s Holy Spirit. 2. We should read, study and obey God’s word daily by putting it into practice in our daily lives and be washed by the water of God’s word by studying it daily. Then we will be abiding in the Lord’s word and keeping His commandments, and the Father and the Son will make their abode in our bodies (John 14:23-24). In conclusion, when Jesus was talking to Nicodemus, He was talking to an enemy, not a disciple. Therefore, Jesus spoke to him in heavy spiritual language, a parable (2 Tim. 2:7; Matt. 13:33-34). Jesus knew those who had His Spirit and were living His way of life daily would clearly understand the meaning of this parable. All the others would twist the Scriptures to their own destruction (2 Peter 3:16). Jesus said His kingdom is righteousness and it is entered by righteous deeds that we do in Jesus Christ’s name (Rom. 14:17; Matt. 5:20, 16; 6:1). These righteous acts are called sacrifices (Heb. 13:16; Psalm 4:5; Rom. 12:1). Jesus Christ Himself says we must force ourselves into this kingdom (Luke 16:16). “The kingdom is within us,” He says in the true translation of Luke 17:21. Unless we practice righteousness daily for Jesus Christ, for repentance, we will all likewise perish (Luke 13:3, 5). Doesn’t it make sense that if we are going to be judged by our deeds, we had better make sure they are all righteous in God’s eyes (John 3:10; Rev. 20:12)? We are all going to be judged on judgment day by Jesus’ words, which He told us to keep (John 12:47-50). We need to be sure we understand these Scriptures and begin to change our ways to His Ways. Jesus says only those who have done the good deeds will come forth to a resurrection of life (John 5:29). Stop listening to those who confuse you and tell you differently. - God Wants Us to Be Good | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search God Wants Us to Be Good The words of a familiar song say, "He knows when you’ve been sleeping, he knows when you’re awake, he knows when you’ve been bad or good so be good for goodness sake." Yes, we constantly are telling our children to be good, but why? Good things happen to good people. The word of God says, "If the righteous are rewarded in the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!" (Prov. 11:31). Psalm 125:4 says, "Do good, oh Lord, to those who are good." Yes, God wants children to be good. He tells little children not to let anyone deceive them, that the one who practices righteousness is righteous, even as God is righteous (1 John 3:7). He also tells the little children not to love with the words of their mouths only, but with good deeds. By this, they will know they are of the truth and be sure in their hearts that they are God’s friends (1 John 3:18-19). God wants little children to live as Jesus Christ gave them example to live, so that when He returns, they will have confidence and not shrink away in shame. God’s word tells you how to abide in Him. It says, "If you know that Jesus Christ is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness [daily] is born of Him" (1 John 2:28-29). You must, however, do all that you do in word or deed in the name of Jesus Christ, as happy slaves of Jesus Christ (Col. 3:17). You must do Gods Will - which is righteousness - from the heart (Eph. 6:6). By this you know that you love the children of God, when you love God and practice or do His commandments; and they are not hard to keep (1 John 5:2-3). You keep them by continually doing things that are pleasing in God’s sight (1 John 3:22). If you are to walk with God, then you must walk in His commandments, just as you have heard from the beginning that you should walk in them (2 John 6). You walk in His commandments by practicing righteousness - by being careful to engage in good deeds (Titus 3:8). This is something you are going to have to learn to do (Titus 3:14). But realize this, whatever good you do, this you will receive back from the Lord (Eph. 6:8). When all you sow is righteousness, all you will reap is blessings, for God is not unjust, so as to forget your work, and the love which you have shown toward His name (Gal. 6:7; Heb. 6:10). - Forgive & Forget: A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Forgive & Forget: A Woman to Woman Article I was talking to a friend the other day. We were discussing how we feel when we are wronged or offended. My friend said, “I forgive but I never forget. I know that’s not right but I cannot help it. That’s the way I am.” Let’s look at God’s word and see if He forgives and forgets. Starting with “The Lord’s Prayer” in Matthew 6:12 and 14, we find that if we forgive others for their transgressions, then our heavenly Father will also forgive ours. Matthew 6:15 tells us very plainly that if we do not forgive others, our heavenly Father will not forgive our transgressions. Read it for yourself! “But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins” (Matt. 6:15). Mark 11:26 says again, “But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions.” A valuable lesson is found in 2 Corinthians 2:10-11. “If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” Who wants us to dwell on the wrongs and offenses done to us and not forgive each other? Satan! He promotes dissension and evil schemes among people. He wants confusion and disharmony among God’s people. We are reminded in Ephesians 4:32 to be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven us. Colossians 2:13-14 clearly tells us that we are dead when we are in our sins or transgressions, but when the Lord forgives us all our transgressions, the certificate of debt against us is canceled and taken away. Jesus Christ’s death assures us this when we live to please Him daily by practicing righteousness. 1 John 1:9 tells us again that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I strive to imitate God’s example of forgiveness daily. “For Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon Thee” (Psalm 86:5). Now we see how forgiving our heavenly Father is. But does He forget? Let’s look at Hebrews 10:17. “And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Does God forgive and forget? Yes, indeed! So let’s imitate Him daily by forgiving and forgetting the wrongs and offenses that have been done to us, just as Jesus Christ Himself would do. “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children”—Ephesians 5:1. - Interpretation or Revelation? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Interpretation or Revelation? Many people interpret the Bible differently. As a result, we have thousands of different faiths believing in the same one God. But wait a minute! If the Bible is the truth of God, it can’t be an interpretation. A man once said that no one could know the truth because the truth is just an interpretation; how one interprets a Scripture could be far different from how someone else interprets the same Scripture. Is there any truth to the above statement? Read on and you’ll be shocked! First of all, God’s word, the Bible, says that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but rather men moved (directed) by the Holy Spirit spoke from God (2 Peter 1:20-21). Men who lived hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of years apart spoke the very same prophesies that God inspired them to repeat. Some examples of this are found in Revelation 6:15-17; Isaiah 2:19, 21, and Luke 23:30. Another good example of the same prophesies given to different people who lived in different times is found in Isaiah 2:2-4; Micah 4:1-3; Zechariah 14:4; and Acts 1:10-12. There are literally countless Scriptures in God’s word that prove God’s word is the truth and not merely interpretations of men. What is not known is that God’s word is a mystery that must be revealed to man by God (Gal. 1:11-12). The Apostle Paul who was a Pharisee, and whose father was a Pharisee, did not understand the very Scriptures he had studied all of his life. The Apostle Paul, after studying the Scriptures all his days, did not even know what the Will of God was. That also had to be revealed by God to him (Acts 22:14). People of the world, whom God is not calling to Himself, cannot understand God’s word because it is a veiled book to them. God has allowed Satan to keep their minds blinded, that they might not see the light of the gospel of God (2 Cor. 4:3-4). They are being held captive by Satan to do his will, which is ignore God daily (2 Tim. 2:26). Jesus told His disciples that to them only had the mysteries of God’s kingdom been revealed. He told them their eyes were blessed because many righteous men and ministers desired to know and understand what the apostles knew, but could not (Matt. 13:11, 16-17). Jesus said He was going to tell the world the truth, which has been hidden from the beginning of time, only He would tell the masses in a parable form so they could not understand (Matt. 13:35). He would, however, explain everything He said in parables to His disciples privately. His disciples were those whom He chose to call to Himself (Mark 4:33-34). Parables are dark sayings, riddles (Num. 12:8; Ezek. 17:2; 20:49). Speaking in parables is also called speaking in figurative language (John 16:25). Even the Pharisees could not hear Jesus’ words because they were of their father the devil (John 8:43-44). There were, however, some Pharisees whom God was calling into the truth, and they were becoming obedient to the faith (Acts 6:7). You see, no one can come to Jesus Christ unless the Father calls or draws him (John 6:37, 44; Acts 2:47; 13:48). So you see, the truth must be revealed by God, or else the best a person can do is interpret the word of God. Doctrines and traditions of men, which produced man-made religions, have come through man’s interpretations. These man-made traditions and man-made doctrines make man's worship of God in vain (Mark 7:7-8). If a person were to attend all the seminaries of man for a lifetime, it would be in vain, for he is reading from a book he does not understand. So he must interpret, and those interpretations are lies and half-truths. God’s word must be revealed, and it is revealed only to those who seek God for the truth, and not man. Those are the ones who find that one truth. Jesus Christ praised the Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for hiding the truth from the wise and intelligent and revealing it to those who are infants or teachable (Matt. 11:25). God considers the wisdom of this world foolishness, because that knowledge is earthly, demonic, and will not impart health, happiness, joy, peace, or eternal life (1 Cor. 3:19; James 3:15). We must go to Jesus Christ directly to receive eternal life (John 5:40). We cannot receive eternal life from some man or his teachings. Many feel if they attend a church regularly, listen to a minister and support that church, and attend its functions, they will be saved. Nothing could be further from the truth (Psalm 146:3; 118:8-9). Trust God exclusively and check up on man continually by studying God’s word on your own (2 Tim. 2:15; 3:16-17; Acts 17:11). One of the biggest lies that has been told in this world, is that a person cannot rightly understand the word of God unless he or she has a good understanding of the Greek and Hebrew languages. What does God’s word say about that? God is calling very few who are wise or noble, but is calling the fools, the weak, the base people and the despised of the world. He is calling those who are nobody to be somebody (1 Cor. 1:26-28; Eph. 4:28; Matt. 21:32). God is calling children (who are mostly the uneducated of the world), and revealing His message of His Way of life to them, whereas He is withholding the understanding from the wise and from many who know the Greek and the Hebrew (Matt. 11:25; 13:17; 18:3; 1 Cor. 1:19-20; Luke 10:21-22). This is not to say that God would not call some of these people, if they sought God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. I am not ashamed to proclaim that God’s words, as well as His parables, have been revealed to me, and I have been taught personally by the Lord Himself for a period of three years, like Paul was (Gal. 1:11-12, 18). Therefore, I teach the truth from God’s word, through God’s revelation—not by man’s interpretation. God has given me the pen of a ready writer and has caused me to write hundreds of Bible researched studies over the years, to help others who would want to know their Bibles well and as quickly as possible (Psalm 45:1). These writings have proven to transform lives, showing that they are not my writings, but rather information I have received through inspiration and revelation from the Lord. I believe the Lord has done this because the days are coming soon, when wickedness will be so great that no man can safely preach the truth of God’s word anymore. So we must redeem the time and learn God’s word now, as fast as possible. Year after year the Lord has taught me while I lay on my bed and has instructed and inspired me on what I should write. Notice in God’s word that what I am saying is true and not a lie. His word cannot lie and I live only to imitate Him (Heb. 6:18; 1 John 2:21). Job 33:15-16 - In a dream, in a vision of the night, when sound sleep falls on men, while they slumber in their beds; then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction. Is. 50:5 - The Lord God has opened my ear, and I have not disobedient; Nor did I turn back. Is. 50:4 - The Lord God has given Me a tongue of disciples, that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple. Psalm 16:7 - I will bless the Lord, who has counseled me; indeed, my mind instructs me in the night. Is. 49:2 - He has made My mouth like a sharp sword, in the shadow of His hand He has concealed me; He has also made Me a select arrow, He has hidden Me in His quiver. So you see, the truth must be revealed by God, or else the best a person can do is interpret the word of God. The key to having God reveal His teaching to you is you must seek God by doing His Will, which is doing good for God and begin to make all your ways right before Him (John 7:17). This is done by keeping, doing or performing Jesus Christ’s Words in your daily walk with Him (Psalm 37:27; John 8:51; 11:26; Rev. 2:26). - God's Anointing | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search God's Anointing God anoints His people with His Holy Spirit (1 John 2:20). This anointing—which is God’s Spirit—teaches you about all things so you have no need for man to teach you (1 John 2:27). However, you must abide in Him in order for the Spirit of truth to teach you (1 John 2:28; John 14:16-17). Notice, Jesus was referring to Himself in John 14:18 and 2 Timothy 2:7. Abiding in Jesus means obeying Him and living the Way He has instructed us to live. Jesus received these instructions from the Father and they are the directions to eternal life (John 6:63; 12:49-50). Not only does the anointing teach us, it also causes our spiritual growth and our change of character from that of our old nature to His new nature formed in us (1 Cor. 3:7; Col. 2:19). It is God who teaches us how to love one another (1 Thess. 4:9). All these things occur when we are obedient to God and we don’t grieve the Spirit of God in us by doing what is wrong. God commands us to love one another (John 15:12, 17; 1 John 3:10, 14, 23; 4:7-8, 11, 16, 20-21). He wants us to practice loving one another so the Spirit that dwells in us can teach us how to love as God loves (1 Thess. 4:9). Over many years, God has given us an opportunity to learn and practice His principles in different ways, with the various people that come in and out of our lives. Sometimes He can bring people in your life for the sole purpose of teaching you His principles, as well as to test you and your loyalty to Him, His Spirit and His truth. Some people struggle and many cannot receive the strong things of God because they remain spiritually immature and half committed or lukewarm. God gives people time to repent. God is patient toward us, that none whom He has called should perish (1 Peter 3:9; Acts 2:47; 13:48). However, there is an end to His patience (Luke 13:8-9). The reason people cannot receive meat is that they are still fleshly (1 Cor. 3:2-3). They are still living to the flesh, still living in the world and still holding on to their old ways. These are people who are not fully committed. They are lukewarm, inconsistent and still living to please self and not God in some areas of their lives. They are “hold outs” for God because they are holding back from being totally committed and totally of one mind with Christ. They find fault, in whatever way they can, so they can hold back. They are suspicious, and remain so because then they do not have to give their hearts totally to God, and thus, to those whom God has called. It is an awesome responsibility to make a people prepared to meet the Lord (Luke 1:17). We strive to do that every day here at Whole Wheat, to provoke and stimulate you to more love and good deeds continually (Heb. 10:24). If that does not happen and there is no one ready, God will destroy the earth with a curse (Mal. 4:6). The word “curse” is defined in Strong’s Concordance, 2764a and 2763a in the Hebrew is translated and defined as: a doomed object, exterminated, utterly destroyed, appointed to destruction. So, let’s get behind and support God’s message! Let’s help promote God’s message and get behind those who tirelessly push ahead for the meeting of the great day of God Almighty. We must discard these bodies of flesh for spiritual bodies. We must perfect the spiritual life of Christ Jesus in them by living to the Spirit, which is doing good only for God. It is no longer living to the flesh because living to the flesh is doing evil, which is Satan’s will (Rom. 8:13; 2 Tim. 2:26). God teaches you and causes you to grow when you obey His word and with the anointing of His Spirit, He will give you strength to endure all things as you honor Him and the example of His Son by living righteously each day, overcoming evil by doing good (1 Cor. 3:7; 1 Pet. 4:11; John 3:36; Rom. 12:21). - Learning How to Be Single-Minded | Daily Grains
Learning How to Be Single-Minded There are many different expressions in the Bible instructing believers to walk with singleness of mind, singleness of eye or singleness of heart. Hebrews 12:13 commands, "Make straight paths for your feet." Making straight paths for your feet is walking in righteousness at all times - continually. To always walk in righteousness is to always please the Lord. To always please the Lord we must constantly remember to please Him with our thoughts, words and deeds. We must refrain from sin and engage in those things that are good, edifying, honorable and profitable for others. Walking with singleness of mind and heart is being intent on serving and pleasing only God. He is number one in your life, in your heart and in your mind. You must make Him number one in your actions. Psalm 106:3 says, "How blessed are those who practice righteousness at all times." So do not deprive yourself of the good life with the free gift of eternal life that comes from living a godly life. It is the life Jesus Christ lived, and He came to show us how easy and pleasant it is. You will soon be a new you, if to His Ways you remain true. And make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed. Hebrews 12:13 So that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:10 This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men. Titus 3:8 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth. Matthew 6:24 How blessed are those who keep justice, who practice righteousness at all times! Psalm 106:3 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. wholewheatonline.com Search Where is Your Heart? God does not show partiality (Gal. 2:6). Those who obey Him are as the apple of His eye (Psalm 17:8). The people or nations who do not obey Him mean less than nothing to Him (Isa 40:17). In the past, God blotted out everyone in the world, but spared Noah, who was a righteous man and had a heart for God, and his family. Those blotted out would not repent and live to please their Maker. He has blotted out scores of nations from the face of this earth because they were wicked and would not repent and change. Man’s downfall through the ages is that he has not taken the Lord seriously. As a result, many have perished in the past. What God has always desired of man is that he would repent (Luke 13:3, 5). The Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities that surrounded them not only for their sins, but also for an example to mankind of what will happen to all who continue to sin (2 Peter 2:6). God is slow to anger, compassionate, gracious, and abounding in loving-kindness and truth. But many times mankind has pushed God to the limit. How do we repent and make ourselves pleasing in God’s sight? To begin with, we know that it pleases God when we study His word daily. When we study His word, we are approved of God (2 Tim. 2:15). It pleases God when we continually practice charity toward others (Acts 9:36). There are many ways to supply the needs of others—being kind, cheering up someone, giving clothing, money, shelter, or anything to someone in need (Matt. 25:33-40). We are careful to serve and include the lame, the blind, the elderly or the poor, who cannot possibly pay us back (Luke 14:13-14). We are then fulfilling Scriptures that the righteous are to fulfill. God’s word says, “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Matt. 6:21). This word treasure comes from the Greek word thesauros meaning; something very much valued or valuables. So where we put our money, our time, our vested interest – our heart is revealed also. We are placing a value on whatever we support or put ourselves into. Take a moment to think about what you put your heart in. When people donate to a church it becomes part of their heart. They support it and feel a bond, so they are behind it. What if that church is not preaching the truth from God’s word (Matt. 7:15-24; Mark 7:7-9)? What are you actually supporting then? Think of this when it comes to any other organization you may donate to or support. On the surface many things can look good. Think about if you were to vote for someone. You are putting your heart into that candidate or person – you value them highly enough to cast a ballot in your name and vote for them, whether you actually give them money or not, you are supporting them. You have given your stamp of approval and are now associated with what they stand for. You feel an obligation to support or defend what they say or believe, simply because you voted for them - because you have put your heart there (Rom. 16:18). It is a very slippery slope when you become entangled with the world (2 Pet. 2:20). Think about the ramifications of what you may find yourself entangled in. We must be careful not to become enslaved to the world, by attaching our heart to things, or people, of the world. This would surely be dividing our treasure unwisely (Matt. 12:35; Luke 6:45, 12:21; James 5:3). In Colossians 2:3, it refers to the same treasure as wisdom and knowledge (from God). Therefore, let us wisely consider, with the knowledge God has given us, what we give ourselves to or who we stand with. As Matthew 6:24 says: ‘No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (the god of riches – Satan – ruler of this world). The Amplified Bible expounds on mammom even further: [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord]. God does not want us to store up treasure on earth but wants us to instead store up treasures in heaven which is our good deeds of righteousness, done for repentance, for the glory of God (Matt. 6:19-20; Acts 26:20). When we look to the Bible we see several examples of those who trusted in their treasures connected to earth and were destroyed (Job 20:26; Jer. 48:7; 49:4; 50:37). Who does God want us to support? Let’s look to the Scriptures and see. God wants you to honor Him by setting aside a portion of your weekly earnings (treasure) for Him (Prov. 3:9; Eph. 4:28). Then He wants you to learn how to do good for others with His money (1 Tim 6:17-19; 2 Cor. 9:6-11; Luke 6:38). He wants you to give money to the needy, loan money without charging interest, and He wants you to do so expecting nothing in return (Matt. 6:2-4; Luke 6:34-35, 38). He tells us to support those who teach the truth of God’s Ways in His name, so that you too may be a fellow worker for the Lord. Therefore, if you are supporting the work of God and those who do it, you have become part of that work as a fellow worker (3 John 7-8). This is another way to draw closer to God because you are putting your treasure and therefore your heart behind His work (Mal. 3:8-10). This has a way of strengthening your commitment and relationship to God (Matt 12:30; John 4:35-36; Matt. 9:36-38; Rom. 10:13-15; Matt. 22:21). These are all wise uses of the treasure God has given you (Acts 20:35; Phil. 4:15-19). God wants you to continually give so He can continually bless you and continually increase your income so you can continually increase your giving (2 Cor. 9:10; 2 Cor. 8:7-8). God does good even to ungrateful men (Luke 6:35). When it comes to using your God’s money, remember that when you give directly to the needy, 100 percent is going to the source and you are being a good steward of God’s money. This is one of the best ways you can make the most of your money set aside for God. Before you support any worthy cause, you should investigate it and know for sure that it is indeed a worthy cause. Always check on what percentage is going to that worthy cause and ask for the proof. Many ads for ‘worthy causes’ can be very deceptive, and only pennies on the dollar actually go to serve the need they are soliciting for. God wants you to learn righteousness by engaging in it daily, for He knows if you don’t, you won’t learn righteousness (Titus 3:8). God also wants us to be a good example in all respects. It is pleasing to God when we say only what is good and right, keeping our conversations pure. Whoever speaks is to do so as though they were the actual words of God (1 Peter 4:11). He hates those who swear and use profanity, and we are His enemies if we use His name for a swear word or a curse (Ex. 20:7; Psalm 139:20). He hates those whose mouths speak foolishly or coarsely, whose mouths are not courteous and kind at all times. The mouth of a fool speaks foolishness (Prov. 1:7, 3:35, 9:6, 10:8, 23, 12:23; Psalm 107:17). A foul mouth indicates a foul heart, but those who speak what is right, are a constant praise to God as well as men. Proverbs 6:16-19 tells us He also hates haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that run rapidly to evil, a false witness who declares lies, and one who spreads strife. What the Lord desires in a man is kindness—kindness in words and in deeds, deeds being first and foremost (1 John 3:18). The Lord wants righteousness and justice from us (Ezek. 33:16). He wants us to be just in all our dealings with mankind, to pay our debts on time, keep our word, owe no money to any man, as much as possible, and be at peace with all men as much as possible. He does not want you to go into debt and lose your peace of mind. He wants you to save your money and pay cash for what you buy as much as you possibly can. The world wants you to go into debt. They say you must, if you want good credit. God says you should not go into debt because it encourages coveting, lust and greed (Rom. 13:8). It will take your peace and you will be unhappy. Instead, be content with what you have. Be content at all times (1 Tim. 6:8). Make your requests known to God and He will bring them to pass (Phil. 4:6). God knows if you obey Him, you will have to depend on Him for everything. This is what He wants you to learn to do. He wants you to learn to depend on Him. Soon, God is going to punish the nations for their sins. He will accomplish this by causing nation to war with nation and kingdom with kingdom (Matt. 24:7). This will bring in great tribulation such as has not occurred from the beginning of the world, nor will it ever be that bad again (Matt. 24:21). A time of distress such as has never occurred since there was a nation will soon occur (Dan. 12:1). This will come upon the whole world as a snare when least expected. For when they say, “Peace, peace,” watch out, because here comes the war (1 Thess. 5:3-4, 9-10). At the time God chooses everyone who has been written in the Lord’s book of remembrance will be rescued. Only those who showed God respect (feared God) daily by practicing the principles outlined in God’s word will be considered for escape (Mal. 3:16-17). Only those who prayed continually that they would be considered worthy to escape all these things will be considered (Luke 21:34-36). Make no mistake about it, these Scriptures will be fulfilled just as surely as all Bible prophesies in the past were fulfilled. If you keep God’s word with perseverance now, and practice the principles you know in your heart are true, God may keep you from the hour of testing which is surely coming upon the whole world. God will soon test all the people of the world to see if they will repent by continually doing good (Rev. 3:10). When war comes, then people repent. God knows only those with an honest and good heart will build godly character (fruit) for Him now (Luke 8:15). The others will wait for the war to come. We are told to continue to practice righteousness and stay humble or teachable. Perhaps we will be hidden by the Lord in the day of His wrath against the nations and their peoples (Zeph. 2:3). There is no guarantee because we are untrustworthy, but God is trustworthy. God encourages those who begin to live for Him when He says, “Tell the righteous all will go well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their own actions” (Is. 3:10). God wants from us so little compared to what He will do for us in return for our daily obedience. Only a fool would ignore His words. Show God where your heart is, by continually honoring Him in all you think, do and say, living a life that is pleasing to Him in all respects. Then, if you endure to the end, God willing, He will declare you to be His very special treasure (Mal. 3:16-17 AMP).
