  • "You are saved by grace through faith." | Misconceptions VS. Truth

"You are saved by grace through faith." MISCONCEPTION: You are saved by grace, through faith, not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. THE TRUTH IS: The above statement is true, but only half true. What many do not realize is the Apostle Paul wrote some of the things he wrote in a hard-to-understand way, so he would trip up those who were false teachers, who were not called or taught by God personally. These untaught and unstable people would distort the true gospel to their own destruction. The Apostle Peter knew what Paul was doing and he mentioned it in 2 Peter 3:16. You are born by grace, you continue to live by grace, and when the time comes for you to be called by grace, then you must respond to that calling. God doesn’t need you, but you need God. God calls you to hear His truth either by opening your mind and drawing you with His Spirit, or by sending one of His servants to wherever you may be (John 6:44-65). Should there be no man of God around, the Lord will teach you Himself as you live for Him daily (John 6:45; 2 Tim. 2:7; 1 John 2:27). Now, the Lord Jesus is that Spirit which resides in us when we live to obey Him (1 Cor. 3:16; Acts 16:6-7). Notice while reading John 14:16-18, Jesus says, “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” If Jesus sends His servant, you should receive him, because when you do, you have received Jesus Christ (Matt. 10:40-42; John 13:20). In Jesus’ day, as well as today, only those who were receiving their chance for salvation knew the mysteries of the kingdom of God (Mark 4:11; Matt. 13:11). The knowledge of this profound mystery is given to us by grace through God’s Spirit. The mystery of the kingdom of God includes the answers to the following questions: What is the kingdom of God message? How do you enter the kingdom of God within? How do you repent? How do you do God’s Will? How do you overcome? How do you glorify God daily? How do you worship God in spirit and in truth? How do you keep and perform God’s Ways? God is not calling everyone to know His truth today, because this is not the only day of salvation (Heb. 3:7-8; Rev. 17:14). Consider these verses from God’s word: Acts 2:39, 47; 13:48; John 13:18; 5:21; Romans 11:7. When you are called by grace, God tells you the truth so that you may no longer live a disgraceful life before Him. God grants you the ability to repent by knowing His truth and allows you to know His Will so that you can be released from being held captive by Satan into doing his will (2 Tim. 2:26). In plain language, God allows you to know His Will so you can repent and know the truth. By knowing and living this truth, you become released from your old satanic nature of the flesh which represents Satan’s will, and thus you become reconciled to God by His grace (Rom. 16:20). • "Because of God's grace, works are not necessary.” | Misconceptions VS. Truth

"Because of God's grace, works are not necessary.” MISCONCEPTION: Because we are saved by God's grace there is nothing else required for salvation. Many believe we are saved by grace through faith, and not a result of works, that anyone should boast. THE TRUTH IS: This is only half true, and not the complete message. The world quotes Ephesians 2:8-9, omitting verse 10. This omission makes the subject of works incomplete. Ephesians 2:10 states we were created for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Repentance requires a life of good works, as Jesus gave us example of. Also, Titus 3:5-7 is quoted out of context by many to discourage doing good works, when verse 8 specifically states that true ministers of God are to constantly remind those who say they believe in God to be careful to engage in good works. Titus 3:14 and 2:7, 14 are proof that the book of Titus is literally a book that encourages those who follow Jesus Christ to be rich in good works for God. Titus 1:16 mentions those who are traveling the religious broad way that leads to destruction. They remain worthless for good works for God and as a result, continue to live detestable and disobedient lives before God. Jesus was zealous for good deeds for the glory of the Father and this is what He commanded those who would follow Him to do (Matt. 5:16; Titus 2:14). If you don’t or won’t do this, you deny Jesus Christ in your life. Repentance requires a life of doing good for God, if we are to receive the free gift of salvation. Let’s say it like it is. Jesus’ faith had works of righteousness. He glorified the Father in heaven by these works of righteousness that He did daily to please the Father. He instructed those who would follow Him and be His true disciples to do the same (Matt. 5:16). These works are to be done by practicing righteousness or acts of love daily towards others for God (Matt. 6:1; 25:40). This is how to love your neighbor as yourself. When Jesus resurrects all who are in their graves, only those who had good works will come to a resurrection of eternal life (John 5:29; Rom. 2:7). Why then would the world’s ministers discourage many from having any good works? • Where Wisdom Ends and Faith Begins | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Where Wisdom Ends and Faith Begins Wisdom is the proper use of knowledge. When that knowledge is derived from philosophy or from the higher learning of man, it is termed human knowledge or philosophy. This type of wisdom is of the world and is foolishness according to the word of God (Eccl. 12:11-12). There is another wisdom, and it is from God. Just as God gives His Holy Spirit to those who obey Him, He also gives His wisdom liberally to those who ask Him (Acts 5:32; James 1:5). There is little godly wisdom in this world because God’s words lie dormant in the Bible, waiting for people to obey them. God’s wisdom is based on His laws. His laws are based on His Ways, and His Ways represent His Will. As His followers, we are to do His Will daily on this earth as it is done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). King Solomon was God’s example to the world of how much wisdom He is capable of bestowing on each of us if we will seek and obey Him by serving others for God’s glory (1 Kings 3:9-12). When we are zealously obeying the Lord by keeping His deeds and overcoming our evil side, our faith in this spiritual Way of life increases. As we grow daily in the Lord by imitating Him, our faith grows also (Eph. 5:1). Unless we become daily doers of His words, it is impossible for our faith to grow. James 2:22 says our faith is made complete by our works. A transformation begins from the inside as we continue to live to please the Lord each day on the outside. Our love for God increases, as does our faith. As we continue to serve Him by serving others, we learn to love one another from the heart (1 Thess. 4:9; 3:12). God causes the necessary growth and soon we become new creatures (1 Cor. 3:7; Gal. 6:15). When we have done everything we can do in any given situation and the trial or test continues, then our faith in God takes over. As doers of God’s word we can have full assurance that there is an answer or solution forthcoming from God (James 1:22). This full assurance comes when we live to do what is right in God’s sight on a daily basis (1 John 3:22). There will be situations when we can do nothing and we must rely solely on the Lord to come to our rescue. Our daily righteous Way of life guarantees the Lord’s response to our needs in these times of distress. Blind faith, on the other hand, is when we force a test on God by allowing something wrong to continue without doing anything about it. It is only when we do all we can according to the wisdom God gives us, and then rely on the Lord, that all will go well. Remember though, we must do our part by using God’s wisdom, instead of our own (Prov. 3:5). If we let our children do something dangerous and claim that God will protect them, we are forcing a test on God. We cannot allow our children to be in situations that could harm them mentally, physically or morally, and then expect God to protect them in that situation. This is forcing a test on God. It is not using godly wisdom, but rather the blind wisdom of this world. God’s wisdom warns those who desire to love and obey Him not to keep bad company. Evil people corrupt good morals (1 Cor. 15:33). Violence breeds violence. But there are some who continue to live by their own thoughts, apart from what God’s law book teaches. They are not living by God’s Ways, but continuing to live by their own ways and thoughts which are not good. Yet, they expect that if they have faith in God, the Lord will protect them in every situation. Not so! They are out of God’s Will so their prayers are not according to God’s Will. Faith without works is dead (James 2:26). Faith without daily obedience to God is dead. Faith without God’s wisdom is dead. Faith without doing God’s Will daily is dead. Faith without daily prayer is dead. Faith without the knowledge of God’s word is dead, so continue to study to show yourself approved to God (2 Tim. 2:15). Remember the big three. Put God first, then others, then yourself: 1. Study God’s word daily (Acts 17:11). 2. Apply it by serving others for God (Matt. 25:40). 3. Pray for others first each day, and then for your own needs (1 Peter 3:12). Study, apply and pray. This will assure the growth, the wisdom and the full assurance that the Lord will answer your prayers. Clean out the old leaven—all your ways that are not presently pleasing to God—and become a new lump, a brand new creation (1 Cor. 5:7; Gal. 6:15). When you pray, make sure that you have done your part in the best way possible. Then you will have the full assurance that your prayers will be respected by the Lord. This is where wisdom ends and faith begins. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

  • Pleasing the Father | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Pleasing the Father Jesus always did things that pleased the Father (John 8:29). He did this by constantly doing the Father’s Will instead of His own (John 6:38). He was constantly doing righteousness in regard to all His deeds (Psalm 145:17). He gave money to the poor (John 13:29). He helped those who had no helper. He gave money to people, expecting nothing in return (Luke 6:35). He was constantly giving and doing good for the Father and, as a result, He never gave in to temptation (Luke 6:38; 1 Peter 3:13; Matt. 4:10). Jesus was overcoming by doing good (Rev. 3:21). Jesus told people they should repent and live the righteous life by glorifying the Father with good works and thus, be lights and examples to others (Matt. 5:16; Titus 2:14). He loved His enemies and proved it by doing good to them (Matt. 5:44). By living to please only God in His life and by doing God’s Will instead of His own, He showed us how to be perfect (Matt. 5:48). Jesus did so many acts of kindness, it would be impossible to record all the good things He did (John 21:25). Jesus glorified the Father, while He was here on earth, by doing His Father’s Will as it is done in heaven (John 7:17; 17:4; Matt. 6:10). By performing these acts of kindness, Jesus overcame His fleshly nature (Rom. 8:3; 12:21; John 16:33). He was made perfect because He was involved in the perfection process - the process God gave Jesus Christ, to show people how easily it could be done (Heb. 5:9; 12:23; John 5:19; Matt. 11:29-30). It had to be easy and pleasant because God is not calling many who are wise, but the lowly (1 Cor. 1:26-27). Yes, where there is a will, there is a way. Now you know the Will, so now you know the Way. Follow the example of Jesus Christ and overcome (Eph. 5:1). • The Mystery of the Book of Job | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search The Mystery of the Book of Job To many people, the book of Job is in the same category as Genesis, Daniel and Revelation because it remains a mystery. What is the mystery? In order to know the mystery we must add up the facts. God said Job was complete, perfect, undefiled, upright and blameless (Job 1:1; 2:3). Many people today disagree with the fact that Job knew he was being tested by God (Job 1:21-22; 2:9-10). God was using Satan to do the testing, as He always does (Job 2:6; Matt. 4:1; Luke 22:31). Even Job’s friends knew it was a test (Job 5:17-18). In his pain, Job rejoiced that he had not denied the words of God (Job 6:10). Then his friends turned on him and began to question his faith (Job 8:6). Job knew that according to the knowledge of God, he was not guilty; but Zophar said he was (Job 10:7; 11:6). His friends began to smear Job with lies (Job 13:4). Job knew he was being examined or tested, just as all true disciples of Jesus Christ are today (Job 13:9; 1 Peter 4:1, 12, 16, 19; 5:10). Job knew that what his friends were insinuating was meaningless as ashes (Job 13:12). Job knew if he continued to hope in the Lord and trust Him, even if he died, he would be saved (Job 13:15-16). His friends were telling him his sins of the past were not forgiven, but Job knew they were not being held against him (Job 13:26; 14:16-17). His friends, who now had become his foes, lashed out at him (Job 15:5-6). Job knew he was innocent and that this was a test from God, although by this time, his friends had become his scoffers (Job 16:17, 20; 17:2). Then, Job uttered a prophecy concerning Christ in the future (Job 17:5-8). Job’s friends became increasingly evil (Job 19:2-22). Job said that the wicked are not interested in God’s Ways or in serving God, as Job was (Job 21:14-15; 29:12-16). Job’s friends did not understand suffering, just as most people today do not understand it. Job was being perfected by God through suffering. Job’s friends did not say what was right, but Job did (Job 42:7)! Although Job was a son of God, he learned obedience from the things he suffered, just as Jesus Christ did (Heb. 5:8-9). That’s how God makes you perfect (Heb. 12:23; Job 1:1). When you practice righteousness for God by serving others daily, you are considered righteous by God (1 John 3:7). That is when the Lord begins to perfect you (1 Peter 5:10). God’s word says that any person who will not practice righteousness for God remains of the devil (1 John 3:10). That is why it pays to please God, as Job always did (Job 29:12-18; 31:16-20) PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

  • How to Know You are Complete | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Know You are Complete Disciples of Jesus Christ of the past were striving for completeness by striving to enter the narrow door that Jesus Christ said few would enter. In order to do this, they were constantly disciplining themselves in order to be like God (1 Tim. 4:7). They were daily imitating God (Eph. 5:1). They were being careful to engage in good works for God (Titus 3:8) and Christ (Eph. 2:10), were constantly being told not to get weary in doing good (2 Thess. 3:13). They knew that in due time, God’s time, they would reap blessings and completeness of character if they did not grow weary (Gal. 6:9). Followers of Jesus Christ were crucifying their natures, their evil passions and desires (Gal. 5:24). They were glorifying God in their bodies by living each day for Him, perfecting their faith (1 Cor. 6:20). Each of them will receive a reward from God according to their own labor (1 Cor. 3:8). Paul compared the life of overcoming to sports. He said it is exercising self-control in all things, forcing the body to do what pleases God (1 Cor. 9:24-27). It is doing the Will of God from the heart by becoming a slave to righteousness (Eph. 6:6; Rom. 6:18-19, 13). These are the directions on how to overcome evil by doing good (Rom. 12:21; 6:12; 8:13), and how to serve one another in love (Gal. 5:13). Jesus Christ’s true disciples walk in the spirit so they would not carry out the evil desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). They provoke and stimulate others to more love and good deeds (Heb. 10:24; 1 John 4:7). Even when suffering, they continue to do what was right and rejoice because God is busy perfecting and establishing His new nature in them (1 Peter 4:1, 12-13, 16, 18-19; 5:10). What is it like to be complete? You no longer condemn yourself for the things you allow yourself to do. You no longer worry. You are at total peace inside. You only live to do God’s Will each day and you have ceased from doing your will of the flesh. You only live to do good each day to your neighbors, your friends and strangers. You love to serve, love to give, and love to do good. It’s your food now, just to do God’s Will (John 4:34). You are completely new. All old things have passed and everything has become new. To get where you are now, you had to fight the good fight and finish the course. You kept Christ’s works and continue to persevere in them without looking back. You are there. You have arrived! You may not be complete on the outside yet, but you have cleaned the inside of the cup thoroughly (Matt. 23:26). You have allowed God to crush your evil nature and put it under your feet (Rom. 16:20). You have entered spiritual rest, and the inner struggle is gone. You no longer do your own works, but you constantly do the works of God (Heb. 4:10). You continue to perfect the outside of the body as you continue growing on the inside of the body. No wonder the Scripture describes it as, “The peace that is beyond all human comprehension” (Phil. 4:7). Jesus Christ had that peace when He was on the cross. Stephen had that peace when he was being stoned. Dying is nothing, but entering the rest is something, and Jesus said it is very easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30). You do have to endure to get there (Matt. 10:22; 24:13; 2 Tim. 2:12). You must persevere and strive to get there (Luke 21:19; 13:24). You have to suffer to enter the kingdom of God within you (Luke 17:21; Acts 14:22). You must force your way in by seizing it for yourself (Luke 16:16; Matt. 11:12). If you tell others in the world, they hate you for it because God has chosen you out of the world (John 15:18-19). But be of good courage. As a result, some will see your example, be converted to God and have Christ formed in them too (Titus 2:7; Gal. 4:19). Then they will become complete, will overcome the evil one and be perfected in love, just like you (2 Cor. 13:9, 11; 1 John 2:13-14;1 John 4:18)! • Mirror Mirror on the Wall: A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Mirror Mirror on the Wall: A Woman to Woman Article “Who’s the fairest of them all?” Most of us can recall this familiar storybook tale, where the wicked witch was very jealous of the pure and innocent Snow White and plotted against her. She succeeded in poisoning Snow White with a poisoned apple which put her into a deep sleep. The wicked witch thought she had won, but the prince broke the spell with the kiss of love, and Snow White remained the “fairest of them all.” This is another classic tale of good vs. evil. Satan is like a lion, roaming about to see whom he can destroy (1 Peter 5:8). We must build solid walls of purity and righteousness to keep Satan out. We only have one defense against Satan’s wiles—it is the way we live daily. When we live to please the Lord every day, He is right there to help us through our battles with Satan. Ephesians 6:11 speaks of the armor of God. It says, “Put on the full armor of God that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.” Yes, the devil schemes just like the wicked witch. The devil is out to destroy anyone he can, who is living a pure life. Our struggle is a spiritual struggle, against wickedness (Eph. 6:12). Ephesians 6:13 gives us the complete answer on how to do battle against this spiritual wickedness: “Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.” Snow White was very innocent and pure. The wicked witch’s heart was black and evil because of her pride, vanity and arrogance. The witch poisoned Snow White in her innocence, not being “wise as a serpent,” as the Bible tells us to be (Matt. 10:16). In our walk with God, Satan sets out “poisoned apples” to try to snare us and trip us up. If we put on the armor of God, we will see the traps Satan sets for us. Let’s take a look at that armor listed in Ephesians 6:14-18: 1. Gird your loins with truth. Yes, study God’s word daily, that we may know and understand His Ways and live by them. 2. Put on the breastplate of righteousness. Yes, live to please the Lord every day by performing acts of righteousness continually towards others in love. 3. Shod your feet with the gospel of peace. Yes, every step we take we stand for good and make peace, whenever possible, among all those who cross our path. We are to walk in the Ways of the Lord by being living words of God (Deut. 8:3; Matt. 4:4). 4. Take up the shield of faith. Faith without works is dead (James 2:26). This is a strong shield God provides when we live according to His Ways by being a constant example to others. Eph. 6:16 tells us we will then be able to extinguish all flaming missiles from the evil one. Remember, it is by our works that our faith is made complete (James 2:22). 5. Take the helmet of salvation. A physical helmet protects our head—our brain, the part that thinks. The spiritual helmet of salvation protects our mind from evil thoughts and influences, which, if it continues, will turn into evil actions. This helmet is God’s Spirit, which is protection and helps us think on only good things that please Him every day. 6. Take the sword of the Spirit. God’s word is our sword. When His word becomes our every thought and deed, then we are thinking and living as the Lord, and then we have more power than the devil. We are to “pray at all times in the spirit and be on the alert with perseverance and petition for all the saints” (Eph. 6:18). Yes, pray for our brothers and sisters who are living by God’s Ways and watch out for those “poisoned apples” the devil throws before us. When we live to please God every day and wear His armor it will protect us from spiritual wickedness. “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” Those who live for God each day, by living His Holy Way! • How to Do God’s Will With Your Body | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Do God’s Will With Your Body As a disciple of Jesus Christ, you are to regard your body as the temple, or place where God lives (John 14:23; 1 Cor. 3:16; 6:19-20). One way you can serve God with your body is to take good care of it. Put good things into your body, which will keep the building strong. Exercise to continually maintain the temple. Keep your breath smelling sweet and dress God’s temple in clothes of quality and good taste. Keep your hair looking nice and trimmed (1 Cor. 11:14). You are in training to be a king and a priest, so it is necessary that you live a quality life, to the degree that you can, and as God has blessed you (Rev. 1:6; 5:10). Never forget, you are God’s showpiece on this earth. Let your good taste, your good actions and your good words be a 10,000-watt light on this earth (Matt. 5:16; Luke 12:35; Phil. 2:15). Set your goal high. This way, if you do not reach it, you will have reached a higher plateau than if you had set your goal low, or worse yet, set none at all. Live just as God lives. God is continually doing acts of kindness and charity to those in need (Acts 9:36). God is kind, loving, generous and giving (Gal. 5:22). He loves His enemies. He does good to those who hate Him. God cares about the widows, orphans, fatherless, sick, lame, blind, old and feeble (James 1:27; Luke 14:13; Psalm 138:6; Prov. 19:17). In order to please God, we must be careful to engage in good deeds or works (Titus 3:8). This is something we must learn to do and not get weary in doing (Titus 3:14; 2 Thess. 3:13). God is glorified by good works and we are to glorify Him in everything we do, whether at home or for our employer (Col. 1:10; 3:17). We are to commit all our ways to God, not just some. Ask yourself these questions: What am I doing daily with my eyes, ears, mind, mouth or body which does not please God and is not glorifying His name? What am I continuing to do that could be a stumbling stone to someone watching me? God says He will pay you back for all the good you do in the name of Christ for His glory (Eph. 6:8). His blessings are distributed daily. Is your life a blessed one? What must you do to order your ways aright so God can begin to bless you (Psalm 50:22-23)? Are you a continual doer of God’s words or a continual forgetful hearer (James 1:22)? Are you keeping Christ’s words, which is doing God’s Will (John 12:47-48; 1 John 2:17)? If not, are you ever going to start? If you start, are you going to endure until Christ’s new nature is formed in you (Gal. 4:19; 6:15; 2 Cor. 13:9, 11)? Remember, quitters never win but winners never quit. When you put your hand to the plow, do not look back at a life of swearing, getting drunk, living an immoral life and continuing to crave those things that are not good. Instead, crave those things that are good and show God your allegiance is to Him and not Satan. • Charity the Hidden Gospel | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Charity the Hidden Gospel Jesus taught the complete message of God in parable form many times throughout His ministry. He said He would open His mouth in parables and reveal information that has been hidden from man since the foundation of the world (Matt. 13:35). He spoke in mysteries because salvation was not being granted to everyone, only to those who were chosen and called by the Father (John 15:16; 13:18; Rev. 17:14). It was only granted to those given ears to hear, and eyes to see and understand the simple message of salvation (John 6:44, 65; 3:9-12). One mysterious parable about the kingdom that describes how to be made anew through conversion to God is found in Luke, chapter 11. Jesus said to a Pharisee, “Give that which is within as charity, and then all things are clean for you” (Luke 11:41). God’s word says that one who has perfect love does no harm to another person, but only good. The word charity is used often in God’s word, but it has been replaced by the word love. By substituting the word charity for love, we may better understand what Jesus said to the Pharisee in parable form (Prov. 10:12). When you use your mouth as an instrument of unrighteousness by swearing, cursing or talking foolishly, you are not walking charitably with your neighbor or fellow man. When you help a widow or orphan in need, you are practicing charity before God (James 1:27). When all areas of your life are charitable toward others, you have been perfected in love. You have overcome the evil one (1 John 2:13-14). You have become spiritually perfect or mature (Matt. 5:48). Jesus told the Pharisee the message of how to overcome in parable form so he would not understand it. However, He privately explained the parables He used to His own disciples (Mark 4:33-34). The parable revealed how to repent, how to be a new creature, and how to be obedient to God. The phrase, “then all things will be clean for you,” means that all areas of your life will be in harmony with God’s Will when you have been perfected in charity. You will be clean, with sins forgiven (1 Peter 4:8). God the Father has been calling a few people from every age to be His followers. They imitate Him and keep His Ways (Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1). In Elijah’s day, there were 7,000 (1 Kings 19:14-18). In Noah’s day, there was just one (Gen. 7:1). During the last days, which we have now entered, there will be the great final harvest. Many will be called to a life of holiness, but few will heed the call. Many are called but few are chosen (Matt. 22:14). Out of all who heed the call to holiness through overcoming, only those who endure to the end will be saved (Rev. 2:26; Matt. 24:13; 10:22; 2 Tim. 2:12). So by all means, continually give that which is within to charity by continuing to perform good works of love toward all others until you have Jesus Christ’s new nature formed within you (Gal. 4:19). As you continually practice righteousness for God, you will enter the kingdom within, which is true godly conversion (1 John 2:29; Matt. 5:20; Luke 17:21). • Shop Til' You Drop - A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Shop Til' You Drop - A Woman to Woman Article “Shop ’til you drop” is a famous saying said by many. When we “hit the mall,” so to speak, we are zealous to look through the stores. The excitement of finding a good deal runs through our blood. We won’t stop until we find what we need or want. We are determined, and many times we literally “shop ’til we drop!” Are we this zealous about our spiritual life? Instead of “hitting the mall,” let’s hit our Bibles and shop the Scriptures. All we need and want from this life is in God’s word. The key to being happy and blessed is right there in His word, and if we have an open mind, this key can be ours. Jesus says His Way is easy and light (Matt. 11:30). Wow! That’s just what we needed to hear. There is no difficulty in understanding His Way if it is easy and light. Now, what do we do next? We are to imitate Jesus Christ, according to 1 Corinthians 11:1 and Ephesians 5:1. How do we do this? We walk like Him and talk like Him! Jesus Christ continually walked and talked a special Way that pleased His heavenly Father (1 Thess. 4:1). He was obedient to the Father by living to please Him every day. Just as Jesus learned obedience, so must we (Heb. 5:8). Obedience is action—doing what’s right and doing good towards others, especially the less fortunate (James 1:27; Luke 14:13). When I meet a widow, my heart leaps for joy. I tell myself, “This is a golden opportunity to do God’s Will.” The elderly and widows are a very important part of my life. I love serving them and making them happy for the Lord. However, this is only one phase of God’s Ways and Will. There are many kinds of people we can serve to please God: the orphan, the needy, the poor, the crippled, the deaf, the blind, the stranger and we must not forget our families. By our love and service, God may call one of these precious ones to His beautiful Way of life. Let’s shop the Scriptures and find out what kind of spiritual clothing God wants us to wear daily. We are to clothe ourselves with Christ by serving others continually (Job 29:14-16). Job was eyes to the blind, feet to the lame and a father to the needy. He clothed himself with righteousness by doing good continually. It’s time we do what’s right and clothe ourselves with righteousness. Let’s be sure to walk the way Jesus walked and talk the way Jesus talked. It’s time to be an example of kindness and goodness always, as Jesus Christ was, and prove to the Lord that we want to be His friends, rather than friends of this world (James 2:23). Let’s hit our Bibles with all the zeal that we hit the mall with, and let God teach us so He can answer our prayers for more wisdom, knowledge and understanding. We know it pleases the Lord when we study to show ourselves approved, so let’s shop the Scriptures daily and please Him (Acts 17:11; 2 Tim. 2:15)! • How to Have Your Prayers Answered | Daily Grains

How to Have Your Prayers Answered One of the many blessings that comes from living the new life in Christ is answered prayer. Because we live only to please God every day by performing God’s Will in our lives, we assure our hearts before God and we can ask in prayer without doubting. We know He considers us righteous because we practice righteousness for God. And we know He hears the prayers of the righteous. Because we are seeking to please God in all our ways, we are abundantly blessed and our prayers are answered. Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4 We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears him. John 9:31 Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 1 John 3:7 The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. Proverbs 15:29 "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the Lord of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows."
