- Doing God's Will With Your Mouth | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Doing God's Will With Your Mouth You may recall seeing the three monkeys that depict hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil. It is true that what we see with our eyes and hear with our ears affects how we think, and has a direct bearing on what we say. If we train our ears and eyes not to listen to or look upon violence, we will have a better attitude mentally. Watching television shows or movies that depict violence, sexual promiscuity or perversion does have a lasting harmful effect on the human brain. God hates those who love violence (Psalm 11:5). He also hates the perverted mouth (Prov. 8:13). God hates evil. He hates people who are arrogant and full of pride, He loves righteousness (Psalm 11:7). God wants us to keep our tongues from speaking evil, lying and from using naughty talk which includes telling dirty jokes (Psalm 34:11-13). He wants us to depart from the evil way by doing good (Psalm 34:14-15; 37:27). When all our words are good, God will satisfy us with good. Just as the deeds of a man’s hands return to him, so also do the words of his mouth. God watches everything we do (Prov. 12:14; 15:3). Fools mock when they are told to stop sinning so God can bless them (Prov. 14:9). God says we are fools if our mouths are perverted (Prov. 19:1). Christ, our example, did not swear and neither should we (1 Peter 2:22; 4:11). We should not quarrel with our mouths (Prov. 20:1-3). It is by our deeds of mouth, as well as body, that we distinguish ourselves as righteous or wicked (Prov. 20:11). We are to put our lives in order, in a right and pleasing way, before God. This is how we show God we are thankful to know Him and have His protection and blessings (Psalm 18:47). Sure, it is a sacrifice, a sacrifice of righteousness and thanksgiving (Psalm 50:22-23; Heb. 13:16). Let's live our lives so we will see good days (1 Peter 3:10-13). Let us not be numbered with those who turned against righteousness (2 Peter 2:21; 1 John 1: 6). How can we, who told God we would die to sin, keep on sinning (Rom. 6:2, 23)? Let us abhor what is evil and not disqualify ourselves from eternal life (Rom. 12:9; 1 Cor. 9:27). Let us seek our neighbor’s good, and not our own first, when we talk (1 Cor. 10:24). Let all that we say be said in love because this pleases God in heaven (1 Cor. 16:14; 2 Cor 5:9). Let us not continue to be "sons of disobedience," getting drunk and using our mouths for evil, but please Him in all respects (Eph. 2:1-3; 5:18; Col. 1:10, 12). Consider the members of your body as dead to sin (Col. 3:5-17). Clean up your mouth, put on the new self and do all that you do for God (Col. 3:23-25; Mark 7:20, 23). - Be Perfect | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Be Perfect When the word of God says, "Be perfect," it means exactly what it says (Matt. 5:48; James 1:4; Heb. 12:23). But how can we be perfect? First of all, let’s realize that Jesus Christ was perfect, as His heavenly Father is perfect. He did the Father’s Will instead of His own (John 6:38). That is what made Him perfect. He kept the Father’s sayings and He lived exactly as He saw the Father live. Anyone who lives as God lives will suffer persecution, so Christ suffered persecution (2 Tim. 3:12). The Bible commands, "Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness" (1 Tim. 4:7). How do you do that? Keep God’s Ways and do God’s Will on earth as it is done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). Psalm 145:17 says, "The Lord is righteous in all His Ways, and kind in all His deeds." Then, it stands to reason that a disciple of Jesus Christ should strive to be righteous in all his ways and kind in all his deeds. If you know Jesus Christ was righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is truly born of Him (1 John 2:29). And this is the key! When you practice righteousness, you are righteous in God’s eyes (1 John 3:7). You have begun the godly process that allows God the Father to make you perfect (Heb. 12:23). By doing good deeds for God, you are practicing the truth that is according to godliness (Titus 3:8; 1:1; John 3:21). You have nothing to worry about now because you are a doer of the word as well as a servant of God (James 1:22; 1 Peter 3:13). Very few people know that the word "perfect" used in Matthew 5:48 and Philippians 3:15 means "spiritually mature." Spiritually mature disciples do not practice sin in their lives. Instead, they overcome sin and its temptations by continually doing good for God. No one who is truly born of God practices sin any longer in his life; and because he is born of God and God’s Spirit (seed) abides in him, he cannot sin (1 John 3:9). Those who belong to Jesus Christ have crucified the flesh with its evil practices and desires (Gal. 5:24). With the help of God’s Spirit, they put to death the things in their lives that are not pleasing to God (Rom. 8:13). Now, they walk in the Spirit and no longer carry out the evil passions they once had (Gal. 5:16). Jesus crushed Satan’s nature in them, with their help, and now they are new creations with His nature formed in them (Rom. 16:20; Gal. 4:19; 6:15). They are now perfect or complete (2 Cor. 13:9, 11). They are spiritually mature. They are truly born again and the evil one does not touch them (1 John 5:18). They have overcome the evil one (1 John 2:13-14). They are perfect because God has perfected them. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- How Father's Can Do God's Will | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How Father's Can Do God's Will God wants to bless families, but He cannot unless the family members allow Him to bless them by being obedient to His Ways. In God’s plan for marriage, husbands are the leaders, providers and disciplinarians; while wives are the helpers, encouragers and homemakers (Eph. 5:22-23; Prov. 22:6; 31:10-31; Heb. 12:9; Gen. 2:18). God chose Abraham because He knew he would bring up his children and the rest of the household in the Ways of the Lord. He would encourage them to practice righteousness and honesty in all their dealings with their fellow man, and he would be a godly example himself (Gen. 18:19). Abraham brought up his children with discipline and instructed them in the Ways of the Lord. He was careful not to over-discipline his children so as to discourage them from living God’s Way (Eph. 6:4; Col. 3:21). Children learn respect for their parents through balanced discipline and love. "For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?" God’s word says (Heb. 12:7). "Our fathers disciplined us and we respected them" (Heb. 12:9). Yes, the father who neglects discipline despises himself (Prov. 15:32). God knows that foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but loving, godly discipline will remove it far from him (1 Cor. 16:14; Prov. 22:15; 29:15, 17, 19; 19:18). Fathers, there is no substitute for discipline (Prov. 13:24). God believes in discipline done in wisdom and in love, never in anger (Jer. 10:24). There are also other forms of discipline you can use, such as depriving disobedient children of some of their freedom. Be sure to continually seek the Lord for wisdom. Wives who are living to please the Lord are commanded to be subject to their husbands. Help and encourage your husband to obey the Lord and do not discourage him when he disciplines the children. Do not hinder him, as Eve hindered her husband (Col. 3:18; 1 Cor. 11:8-9; 1 Tim. 2:14). Husbands, your wives cannot be in subjection to you until you are in subjection to God and have fulfilled your rightful duties to the Lord by being the loving master of your own household. Let us be prepared to meet the Lord should He return shortly (Luke 1:17). Let us stop depriving ourselves of happiness because we rebel against God’s Ways. After all, God’s Ways are all good for us (1 Cor. 7:3-5). PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- Interpretation or Revelation? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Interpretation or Revelation? Many people interpret the Bible differently. As a result, we have thousands of different faiths believing in the same one God. But wait a minute! If the Bible is the truth of God, it can’t be an interpretation. A man once said that no one could know the truth because the truth is just an interpretation; how one interprets a Scripture could be far different from how someone else interprets the same Scripture. Is there any truth to the above statement? Read on and you’ll be shocked! First of all, God’s word, the Bible, says that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but rather men moved (directed) by the Holy Spirit spoke from God (2 Peter 1:20-21). Men who lived hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of years apart spoke the very same prophesies that God inspired them to repeat. Some examples of this are found in Revelation 6:15-17; Isaiah 2:19, 21, and Luke 23:30. Another good example of the same prophesies given to different people who lived in different times is found in Isaiah 2:2-4; Micah 4:1-3; Zechariah 14:4; and Acts 1:10-12. There are literally countless Scriptures in God’s word that prove God’s word is the truth and not merely interpretations of men. What is not known is that God’s word is a mystery that must be revealed to man by God (Gal. 1:11-12). The Apostle Paul who was a Pharisee, and whose father was a Pharisee, did not understand the very Scriptures he had studied all of his life. The Apostle Paul, after studying the Scriptures all his days, did not even know what the Will of God was. That also had to be revealed by God to him (Acts 22:14). People of the world, whom God is not calling to Himself, cannot understand God’s word because it is a veiled book to them. God has allowed Satan to keep their minds blinded, that they might not see the light of the gospel of God (2 Cor. 4:3-4). They are being held captive by Satan to do his will, which is ignore God daily (2 Tim. 2:26). Jesus told His disciples that to them only had the mysteries of God’s kingdom been revealed. He told them their eyes were blessed because many righteous men and ministers desired to know and understand what the apostles knew, but could not (Matt. 13:11, 16-17). Jesus said He was going to tell the world the truth, which has been hidden from the beginning of time, only He would tell the masses in a parable form so they could not understand (Matt. 13:35). He would, however, explain everything He said in parables to His disciples privately. His disciples were those whom He chose to call to Himself (Mark 4:33-34). Parables are dark sayings, riddles (Num. 12:8; Ezek. 17:2; 20:49). Speaking in parables is also called speaking in figurative language (John 16:25). Even the Pharisees could not hear Jesus’ words because they were of their father the devil (John 8:43-44). There were, however, some Pharisees whom God was calling into the truth, and they were becoming obedient to the faith (Acts 6:7). You see, no one can come to Jesus Christ unless the Father calls or draws him (John 6:37, 44; Acts 2:47; 13:48). So you see, the truth must be revealed by God, or else the best a person can do is interpret the word of God. Doctrines and traditions of men, which produced man-made religions, have come through man’s interpretations. These man-made traditions and man-made doctrines make man's worship of God in vain (Mark 7:7-8). If a person were to attend all the seminaries of man for a lifetime, it would be in vain, for he is reading from a book he does not understand. So he must interpret, and those interpretations are lies and half-truths. God’s word must be revealed, and it is revealed only to those who seek God for the truth, and not man. Those are the ones who find that one truth. Jesus Christ praised the Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for hiding the truth from the wise and intelligent and revealing it to those who are infants or teachable (Matt. 11:25). God considers the wisdom of this world foolishness, because that knowledge is earthly, demonic, and will not impart health, happiness, joy, peace, or eternal life (1 Cor. 3:19; James 3:15). We must go to Jesus Christ directly to receive eternal life (John 5:40). We cannot receive eternal life from some man or his teachings. Many feel if they attend a church regularly, listen to a minister and support that church, and attend its functions, they will be saved. Nothing could be further from the truth (Psalm 146:3; 118:8-9). Trust God exclusively and check up on man continually by studying God’s word on your own (2 Tim. 2:15; 3:16-17; Acts 17:11). One of the biggest lies that has been told in this world, is that a person cannot rightly understand the word of God unless he or she has a good understanding of the Greek and Hebrew languages. What does God’s word say about that? God is calling very few who are wise or noble, but is calling the fools, the weak, the base people and the despised of the world. He is calling those who are nobody to be somebody (1 Cor. 1:26-28; Eph. 4:28; Matt. 21:32). God is calling children (who are mostly the uneducated of the world), and revealing His message of His Way of life to them, whereas He is withholding the understanding from the wise and from many who know the Greek and the Hebrew (Matt. 11:25; 13:17; 18:3; 1 Cor. 1:19-20; Luke 10:21-22). This is not to say that God would not call some of these people, if they sought God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. I am not ashamed to proclaim that God’s words, as well as His parables, have been revealed to me, and I have been taught personally by the Lord Himself for a period of three years, like Paul was (Gal. 1:11-12, 18). Therefore, I teach the truth from God’s word, through God’s revelation—not by man’s interpretation. God has given me the pen of a ready writer and has caused me to write hundreds of Bible researched studies over the years, to help others who would want to know their Bibles well and as quickly as possible (Psalm 45:1). These writings have proven to transform lives, showing that they are not my writings, but rather information I have received through inspiration and revelation from the Lord. I believe the Lord has done this because the days are coming soon, when wickedness will be so great that no man can safely preach the truth of God’s word anymore. So we must redeem the time and learn God’s word now, as fast as possible. Year after year the Lord has taught me while I lay on my bed and has instructed and inspired me on what I should write. Notice in God’s word that what I am saying is true and not a lie. His word cannot lie and I live only to imitate Him (Heb. 6:18; 1 John 2:21). Job 33:15-16 - In a dream, in a vision of the night, when sound sleep falls on men, while they slumber in their beds; then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction. Is. 50:5 - The Lord God has opened my ear, and I have not disobedient; Nor did I turn back. Is. 50:4 - The Lord God has given Me a tongue of disciples, that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple. Psalm 16:7 - I will bless the Lord, who has counseled me; indeed, my mind instructs me in the night. Is. 49:2 - He has made My mouth like a sharp sword, in the shadow of His hand He has concealed me; He has also made Me a select arrow, He has hidden Me in His quiver. So you see, the truth must be revealed by God, or else the best a person can do is interpret the word of God. The key to having God reveal His teaching to you is you must seek God by doing His Will, which is doing good for God and begin to make all your ways right before Him (John 7:17). This is done by keeping, doing or performing Jesus Christ’s Words in your daily walk with Him (Psalm 37:27; John 8:51; 11:26; Rev. 2:26). - Walk in the Light | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Walk in the Light What does the expression "walk in the light" as found in 1 John 1:7 mean? Light and darkness have always been used to represent good and bad, right and wrong, righteousness and lawlessness. Walking in the light is doing good, whereas walking in the dark is doing evil. Avoiding doing what is bad is not being good. Refraining yourself from doing evil is good only when it is connected with a life of doing good for God. You see, to overcome character weakness, you must be engaged in building character strengths, because you overcome evil by doing good (Rom. 12:21). Now, God knows human nature is lazy, indifferent, contentious, slothful and evil. It wants to do what is good but is unable. This is because the pull for evil inside is greater than the pull for good. So a plan had to be devised in which all could have an opportunity for Salvation - the lonely, the rich, the noble, the lame and the blind - everyone! The god of the carnal heart, Satan, had to be crushed and removed from the heart, and only God could do that (Rom. 16:20). The desire to do good had to be strengthened, and only God could do that. Godly character had to be built, and only God could do that (1 Cor. 3:7). Human nature had to be perfected, and only God could do that (1 Peter 5:10). But what could man do for his part? Repent! Repent means be willing to change your ways. Change your ways to God’s Ways. How? By disciplining yourself to perform acts that please God daily. Is it hard? Jesus Christ said His Way is easy and pleasant and a child would not have any trouble performing it daily (Matt. 11:30). When you walk in the light as Jesus Christ did by only living to please the Father, you are obeying Jesus Christ and will be sprinkled with His blood (1 Peter 1:2). The blood of Jesus Christ will then cleanse you from all your sins (1 John 1:7). Jesus Christ bore our sins in His body so we might die to our sinful natures by living a righteous life (1 Peter 2:24). We prove that we are God’s children by practicing righteousness daily for God (1 John 3:7, 10). The one who does good daily for God is of God (3 John 11). This good is done daily by sharing food and clothes with widows and orphans (Heb. 13:16; Luke 3:11; James 1:27). This good is done by acts and words of kindness and charity - to the blind, the lame, the old, the young, your wife, your children, your folks - all done in the name of our precious Lord and Master, and soon to return King, Jesus Christ (Acts 9:36; Col. 3:17). - How to Please the Lord | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Please the Lord When Jesus returns and sets up His world-ruling government in Jerusalem, all the nations of the earth will stream into it. They will say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord that He may teach us concerning His Ways, and that we may walk in His paths." He will teach people how to live their lives to please Him (Is. 2:2-3; Micah 4:1-4). Nation will not go to war against nation anymore, and they will never again learn war (Is. 2:4). Everyone will invite his neighbor over for dinner (Zech. 3:10). What will Jesus Christ teach the nations concerning His Ways when they come up to Jerusalem? He will instruct them to help those in need (Matt. 25:31-40). "Dispense true justice, and practice righteousness by practicing kindness and compassion each to his brother. Do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another," the Lord of Hosts says (Zech. 7:9-10). "These are the things you should do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates. Also let none of you devise evil in your heart against another, and do not love perjury; for all these are what I hate" (Zech. 8:16-17). People in the past refused to pay attention to God (Zech. 7:11). But it is prophesied that people will listen, when Jesus Christ comes back to rule the world (Zech. 8:20-23; 14:9). Man says today, "What should I do to please the Lord? Offer my firstborn for my rebellious acts?" Christ says, "I have told you, oh man, what is good. Practice righteousness. Practice justice. Practice loving one another and being kind to one another and walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6:8). Is this not what He told Cain (Gen. 4:7; 1 John 3:10-12), Abraham (Gen. 18:19), and Moses (Heb. 3:5)? And is this not what Daniel knew and told the king (Dan. 4:27), and what Jesus told us? Overcome evil by practicing righteousness for God in His name for His glory (Rom. 12:21; Col. 3:17; Matt. 5:16). Practice hospitality by inviting the blind and lame over for dinner (Rom. 12:13; Luke 14:13). Share your clothes, your money and your food with those in need, and share your home with the weary traveler (Luke 3:11; 1 Tim. 6:17-18; 1 John 3:17). We are without excuse when we consider the Scripture that says, "To the one who knows to do good (practice righteousness) and does it not, to him it is sin" (James 4:17). God’s word also says, "How blessed are those who practice righteousness at all times" (Psalm 106:3; 11:7). - All About God's Nature | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search All About God's Nature There are three natures mentioned in God’s word: God’s nature, Satan’s nature and human nature. Satan’s nature controls human nature, so there is no good thing in human nature (Luke 18:19; Rom. 7:18; John 7:7). Human nature is being held captive by Satan to do Satan’s will (2 Tim. 2:26). Satan’s will is put to death in our bodies when we do only God’s Will daily in our lives. Jesus Christ came to tell us about the Father’s nature. He said it is very easy for us to acquire the Father’s nature (Matt. 11:30). All we need to do is forsake our human nature by imitating Him (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1). The Lord is righteous in all His Ways and kind in all His deeds (Psalm 145:17). When we practice righteous deeds for God, we are obedient to Jesus Christ and we allow the Spirit of God to dwell in us (1 John 3:10; Acts 5:32). We are keeping His Ways because we are doing His Will. The Spirit of God then reveals God’s nature in us (Rom. 8:29; Gal. 1:16; 4:19). This is called the doctrine that conforms one to godliness (1 Tim. 6:3). Human nature will not die without a fight. That is why you must fight the good fight of faith, and have faith that God will implant His nature in you (Psalm 4:5; Phil. 2:12). You will then be a new creature in Christ Jesus (Col. 1:28). When you have this new godly nature, then you will be righteous in all you do. You will be like Jesus because you will keep His deeds (Rev. 2:26). When all you do is righteous, then all you will reap will be blessings. You will be living the abundant life, full of joy and peace, that Jesus Christ came to show you (John 10:10; Acts 3:19, 26). You will understand that you were created to do good works and that the message of eternal life is righteousness (Eph. 2:10; John 8:51). Satan hates it when you practice righteousness for God’s glory because this is how he is put to death in your flesh (Matt. 5:16). Do not let him stop you! Be zealous for good deeds and overcome your human nature (1 Peter 3:13; Rom. 12:21; Psalm 37:27). That is how you resist Satan and have God’s nature formed in you (James 4:7; Eph. 6:11, 13). The God of peace and love, who is calling you to this holy Way of life, will soon crush Satan under your feet, and after you have suffered a little, God will perfect His nature in you (Rom. 16:20; 1 Peter 5:10; Gal. 4:19). - How to Worship God | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Worship God How does God want to be worshiped (Rev. 14:7)? God wants us to worship Him in a certain way. This Way is by practicing kindness one to another and being honest in all our dealings. He wants us to continue living this Way, waiting for the return of Jesus Christ (Hosea 12:6). He wants us to do good, instead of practicing evil, so God will be with us (Amos 5:14-15). God has told us what He considers good. Yes, this is to practice kindness and honesty, to walk as God walks, and stay humble and teachable (Micah 6:8; Eph. 5:1). God continually warned His people in the past to dispense true Justice - be honest in all dealings with men - and practice kindness and compassion toward others. He told them to take care of the widows and orphans in the land. He told them to make sure they did not oppress the stranger (one who is of a different nationality) in their land. God wants equal opportunity for each man, so He said not to devise evil toward another person (Zech. 7:9-10). People of the past would not change. Instead, they made their hearts like flint. They would not practice righteousness daily toward their fellow man for God! God sent His prophets to warn the people to change and to practice righteousness. This was the everlasting gospel of the prophets, and it was the message that got them stoned (Heb. 4:2; 11:35-37; Rev. 6:9). The way that a man should live is not in himself (Jer. 10:23). His heart is desperately wicked (Jer. 17:9). Instead, we are to trust in God and not lean on our own understanding (Prov. 3:5-6). We are to acknowledge Him in all our ways, saying, "If the Lord wills" (James 4:15). Pray to Him! Depend on Him! Put your faith in Him! Live for Him! Talk like He does! Walk like He does! Sing songs to Him. This is how you show your love to Him! This is how you truly worship Him in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). This is true worship of God. wholewheatonline.com Search Who Are The Stumbling Blocks? The Bible tells us that all stumbling blocks will be destroyed in the lake of fire (Matt. 13:41-42). Who are the stumbling blocks? You may be shocked to learn that stumbling blocks are true disciples of Jesus Christ who cause others to stumble in some way, preventing or destroying their chances of knowing the truth. The stumbling blocks are still practicing sin and living lawless lives (1 John 3:4). They are practicing worldliness by swearing, smoking, getting drunk or not being a godly example to others (Gal. 5:19-21; Mark 7:21-23; 1 Cor. 6:9-10; Eph. 5:5-6; Col. 3:8; Rev. 21:8). Jesus said anyone who causes another person God is calling into the truth to stumble is in big trouble (Matt. 18:6-7). Jesus then said in parable form that if any member of the body of believers causes another to stumble, it would be better to cut off the member that offends, than to receive the punishment that comes from making a potential disciple of Jesus Christ stumble (Matt. 18:8-9). Jesus Christ called the Apostle Peter "Satan" because Peter was setting his mind on man’s interests and not God’s. Because of this, Peter was momentarily a stumbling block to Christ (Matt. 16:23). Anyone who does not put God first in every area of his life is a potential stumbling block! What causes people to stumble and who are the stumbling blocks? Just read these Scriptures to remove all doubt from your mind: Jude 15-16; 2 Peter 2:2-6, 10, 12-15, 17-19; James 1:7-8; and 2 Timothy 3:1-5. When you find the truth, do not speak against it in any way. Do not discourage or hinder anyone from entering the kingdom within, as the religious leaders of Christ’s day did (Matt. 23:13; Luke 11:52; 17:21). Help others to overcome by encouraging them to serve others for Christ (Heb. 10:24; Col. 3:17). Be a good example to them for Christ (Titus 2:7). God loves those who practice righteousness for Him (1 John 3:7, 10). Jesus Christ is able to keep you from stumbling if you put Him first in your daily life and keep Him first (Jude 24). Begin today by studying His word, which allows Him to teach you, and then put what you learn into practice. Last of all, do not try to hinder a man of God from doing God’s work. Instead, support him by not speaking evil about him, and help him in whatever way you can (Matt. 10:40-42; 24:45-47). In doing so, you will be helping Jesus Christ make doers of His word. - Matters of the Heart: A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Matters of the Heart: A Woman to Woman Article The condition of our heart really matters to our Lord. We can try to put on a false front to those around us, but we cannot fool God. He knows what we think and how we feel. When He chooses us, He has a very special plan for us. Part of His plan is to work with and change our heart. He says in Colossians 3:12-13, “Those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.” And, Colossians 3:14 says: “And beyond all these things, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.” There is a picture to grasp from these verses. When Satan runs evil thoughts by us, we are to turn off those thoughts and think about helping others—not only with our hands, but with our minds and our mouths too. There is a saying so true, which is: “We are what we think, not what we think we are.” When we think about what we can do to be compassionate, we can then speak and act with compassion. When we think about what we can do to be kind, humble, gentle and patient, we will then be all of these wonderful things and fulfill the law of God. In all these things, love is the bottom line. We can successfully carry out all God’s wonderful fruits of the Spirit when we think, and act, with love (Gal. 5:22-23). Another matter of the heart is peace. Colossians 3:15 talks about peace ruling in our heart. Peace rules when we think peaceful thoughts. However, one may constantly think of how evil the world is becoming. This is true; this is a fact. But we need to think on how we can make the world a better place by showing love—saying good words and doing good works (actions) toward others for God. We can be assured that our Lord is fulfilling His prophecies, and we can think of all the positive things happening to make this all come about. One way I keep peace in my heart, is I love to listen to good, uplifting music. (Go to the MORE page to hear some of Karren's original gospel music). It makes my thoughts very pleasant. Colossians 3:16 says: “Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in our hearts to God.” I’d say that about sums it up perfectly! - An Honest and Good Heart | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search An Honest and Good Heart This is the seed that fell on good soil: “The ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance” (Luke 8:15). This parable is talking about the many ways a person can receive the true message of the kingdom when heard for the first time. People who have an honest and good heart immediately put the message into action, which means they immediately repent. They hold fast to the message by studying their Bibles in a systematic way so as to prove all the things they are learning about the true kingdom message (James 1:25). They persevere in doing this, which means they are consistent in their study of the Bible. They are consistent with their bearing fruit and, as a result, their personal growth as new disciples of Jesus Christ is excellent. They are excellent examples in the eyes of God from the very first day. Because of this beautiful attitude toward God’s true message, they become effectual doers and are blessed by God in everything they do. Because they seek the kingdom by practicing righteousness for God daily (that makes it God’s righteousness), all things are added to them—clothes, food, good jobs, prosperity and many other wonderful blessings (Matt. 6:33). They are not living for self any longer but now live only to do the Will of God. Their prayers are answered because they do only those things which are pleasing in God’s sight (John 9:31; 1 John 3:22). They consistently discipline themselves for the purpose of godliness and as a result, they are forcing themselves into the kingdom within (1 Tim. 4:7; Luke 16:16; 17:21). Because of their honest and good hearts, they are constantly good examples for God. They know it pleases God to be good examples for Him and to constantly provoke others to do more works of love for His glory (Heb. 10:24; Matt. 5:16). Because of this constant condition of maintaining an honest and a good heart, their righteousness quickly surpasses that of the scribes and the Pharisees and, as happy slaves of Jesus Christ, they do the Will of God from the heart and they enter the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 5:20; Eph. 6:6). We can see that receiving this message with an honest and a good heart and then holding fast to this true message and bearing fruit in every good work with perseverance is the narrow attitude we must have to enter the kingdom of God (Luke 8:15; Col. 1:10). This is the narrow Way that very few find. It is the narrow Way which few who strive to enter, succeed in entering (Luke 13:24). The key to the true message of the kingdom is attitude. Many of the Pharisees and religious leaders of Jesus Christ’s day did not accept the message of the kingdom because they had bad attitudes. The examples given to us in the parable of the sower are all the attitudes fatal to the message, followed by the attitude that will cause one to grow and grow in the message. The last attitude, striving to maintain an honest and good heart before God daily, is the attitude that leads to life eternal. Therefore, let us fear (be sober) while a promise of entering His rest by entering the kingdom within still remains, lest any one of us should come short of entering (Heb. 4:1). We should all want to receive God’s message with a good attitude. We should receive the message with an attitude of gratefulness, an attitude of humbleness. Jesus assures us His Way is very easy and pleasant so let’s not make it difficult by having a wrong attitude about the Way of righteousness (Matt. 11:30; 21:32). Let us persevere in being servants to others for the glory of the Father, as Jesus Christ gave us commandment to do (Col. 3:17). In all things, let us show ourselves to be examples of good works (Titus 2:7, 14). - God's Judgment on a Nation | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search God's Judgment on a Nation When God pronounces judgment on a nation through a prophet, there is a space of time given in which the people are allowed to repent. First, they must hear what they are doing wrong (Ezek. 3:17-19, 21). Then, they must be told how to repent by doing what is right. Notice that after Daniel told Nebuchadnezzar how to repent, 12 months went by before the curse announced by the angel of God came to pass (Dan. 4:27, 29, 37). The Apostle Peter describes the repentant life saying, cease to do evil, learn to do good (1 Peter 3:8-12; Is. 1:16-17). If the people were practicing wickedness, they had to stop doing those things and start practicing righteousness for God. If the people were using their bodies to do evil, they were told to begin to use their bodies to do good (Rom. 6:13; 12:1, 21). When the King of Nineveh heard of impending judgment on his city, he issued a proclamation that all the people, herds and flocks should fast from eating food and drinking water. Then, he commanded all his people to cease from sinning, to cease from all forms of wickedness and violence. When God saw their deeds, that they had turned from their wicked ways, He did not do what He had declared He would do to them (Jonah 3:6-10). The word of God says there is only one way to repent and turn from your wicked ways and that is by doing good deeds for God (Acts 26:20). That is how you turn away from your evil ways (Job 1:1; 2:3). It is the only Way! It is the narrow Way that few find (Matt. 7:14). It is ridiculous to think that a person can repent by doing nothing, as millions are erroneously being taught today. You cannot repent by living a life of doing nothing for your Savior, Jesus Christ. God says doers of the word are the only ones who are justified among those who call themselves followers of Jesus Christ (James 2:24). Now is the time to repent before God so that when God brings this nation into judgment for its sins, you will not be part of that judgment. God is going to send curses upon the whole world to test the people of the world (Rev. 3:10). He is going to determine who the righteous and the wicked will be (Mal. 3:18). He wants to know who will be the sheep and serve others by doing good for God, and who will be the goats because they refuse to repent and do good for God (Matt. 25: 33, 40, 46). - How to Enter the Good Life | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Enter the Good Life This may come as a surprise to many, but one of the greatest words in the Bible is repent. Repentance is the ticket to the good life (Acts 3:26; John 10:10; 15:11; Luke 15:7). Repentance is the ticket to eternal life (Acts 26:20; Luke 13:3; Ezek.18:32; 1 John 2:17). Repentance is the ticket to forgiveness of sins (Luke 24:47). Repentance is the ticket to answered prayer (John 8:51; 9:31; 1 John 3:22). Repentance is the ticket to peace (Phil. 4:7). Repentance is the ticket to prosperity (Matt. 6:33; Luke 6:38). Repentance is the ticket to being a friend of God (James 2:17-26). Repentance is obedience to God’s Ways (1 Peter 1:2; 1 John 1:7; Deut. 10:12; Gen. 18:19; Jer. 6:16). To believe, you must repent. To have faith, you must repent. To obey, you must repent (John 3:36). Repentance is the key to the good life that God has waiting for you—a life full of joy, prosperity and every good thing. No good thing will God withhold from those who walk uprightly, which means those who repent (Psalm 84:11; Acts 10:35). The word “repent” received a bad reputation in the past by “fire and brimstone” half-truth preachers who claimed you had to give up everything that was fun. The truth is, God only wants you to stop doing the things that will hurt you or somebody else. Remember, God’s word says true love does no harm to its neighbor (Rom. 13:10). And the person who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law (Rom. 13:8). Whatever you would want others to do for you, do so for them, for this is the law and the prophets (Matt. 7:12). True repentance, then, is a Way of righteousness, which Jesus came to show us how to live, as well as tell us how to live (Matt. 21:32; 2 Peter 2:21). Repentance is keeping God’s Ways. Repentance is doing God’s Will daily on earth as it is being done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). Repentance is imitating God in word and deed (Eph. 5:1; 1 Peter 4:11). Repentance is living to do good for the Lord only. Repentance is daily righteousness. Did you think that repentance was feeling bad about your sins against God? That’s only half the truth. Your sins are forgiven by God when you forsake them by doing what is right in God’s sight daily. Forsaking your sins by overcoming evil, by continually doing good for God, will show God you are worthy of eternal life (Luke 20:35; Psalm 37:27). Repentance, then, is a happy and a joyful word. It means you have decided in your heart to live for God and to please Him in all you think, do and say, so He can bless you with every good thing. Repentance is turning to God by obeying Jesus’ words by putting them into practice in your daily life so God can bless you (John 8:51; Acts 3:26). So by all means, repent today and begin to live by God’s Ways, so He can begin to bless you for the rest of your days on this earth and give you the gift of eternal life (Matt. 3:2)! - When Will The End of the World Come? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search When Will The End of the World Come? The world itself will not end but will be renewed and remade. In fact, there is also going to be a new heaven according to Revelation 21:1-2. Many people refer to 2 Peter 3:10, where many translations say it will be burned up, whereas other translations render the word discovered (see footnote in your Bible). Now consider this: Jesus Christ must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet (1 Cor. 15:25-26). The last enemy that will be abolished is death. Revelation 20:14 says, “And death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.” The reward of the saved is co-rulership with Jesus Christ (Rev. 2:26). We will be kings and priests and reign on this earth. If the world is going to be totally destroyed, then God’s plan for redeeming lost sinners would be destroyed. The word of God states, “…world without end” (Is. 45:17, King James Version). There is only one condition in which the Lord would utterly destroy the world. Malachi 4:5-6 says if Elijah does not come before the great and terrible day of the Lord at the end of the age, the land will be cursed. Elijah’s message will restore broken families and establish the husband and father as head of the family. Children will once again respect their fathers in a godly way. Otherwise, God will smite this earth with a curse and the word curse should be translated “utter destruction.” PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- Imitate God: A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Imitate God: A Woman to Woman Article We are created in God’s image (Gen. 1:26). He knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows how we should live. Yes, we are to walk like God walks and talk like God talks in order to be healthy and happy (Eph. 5:1; 1 Peter 4:11). Paul wrote this to the Ephesians: “Be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you, and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma” (Eph. 5:1-2). What an awesome thing Christ did. He gave His life as a sacrifice for us, so that when we live to please Him every day, this is our sacrifice of righteousness for Him. As a result, our sins are forgiven (Heb. 13:16). We are admonished in Ephesians 5:8 to “walk as children of light.” What does this mean? The answer is in the next two verses. Ephesians 5:9-10 say: “For the fruit of the light consists of all goodness and righteousness and truth, trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.” To learn what pleases the Lord is very important. It consists of studying the Scriptures daily by subject (2 Tim. 2:15 KJV; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). Ephesians 5:15 says: “Be careful how you walk, not as unwise men [or women], but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.” Are we doing our best for God with each and every hour that passes? Are we performing acts of kindness and love and saying good words continually to glorify God in thought and in deed? Ephesians 5:17 tells us not to be foolish, but understand what the Will of the Lord is. Good words and kind deeds are His Will, and we are to do them in Jesus Christ’s name for God’s glory (Col. 3:17). We want to do all we do with the right attitude. See Ephesians 5:18-20: “...Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.” It pleases God to do all we do in word and deed with an attitude of thankfulness and a happy heart. God is telling us to put on the new self with all these Scriptures. We are laying aside the old self and truly overcoming evil when we are doing good, which is putting on the new self in the likeness of God (Eph. 4:22, 24; Psalm 37:27). Let us sing a happy song, Let’s be thankful all day long. Making music in our heart, Gives each day a brand new start. It’s a song of thankfulness, It’s the Way of righteousness. Live to please the Lord above, Walking in His Ways of love. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

- It's So Simple: A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search It's So Simple: A Woman to Woman Article It’s so simple, yet people simply don’t see it. It’s as simple as what I ask of my children each day. All I ask is that they act kindly toward others—doing whatever they can to make others happy, especially grandparents or any other elderly people they see or have over to their home. Yes, this simple way is God’s Way of life. We ask our children to use good words towards each other. And when evil thoughts come into their minds, we tell them to just get rid of them by thinking of something good to do—and then doing it for God. If any child visits our home and they are undisciplined, no matter what their problem, we ask our children to be kind and show them a good time. It’s such a beautiful way to live. Our children have actually influenced other children to be respectful to their parents. They have helped other children to clean up their mouth and to stop swearing. They have shown others how to keep their rooms neat and help their mother clean the rest of the house. Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Only those who do good are of God (3 John 11). We are the children of God. God is our Father, and we show Him respect daily by continually doing what is right in His sight (1 John 3:22). Will you be that child I described above? Will you glorify your Father in heaven every moment of every day? Life is simply wonderful when we live this simple, beautiful Way of life. We become precious to God when we serve Him continually in this wonderful Way called “the Way of righteousness” (Matt. 21:32; 2 Peter 2:21). - Study to Show Yourself Approved | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Study to Show Yourself Approved Part of the Will of God is to study the Bible (2 Tim. 2:15). Many who study the Bible, study for information rather than correction. Disciples of Jesus Christ are admonished not to be foolish, but understand what the Will of God is (Eph. 5:17). It appears that people who claim to be His disciples today are least informed about this aspect of spiritual and godly living (Col. 1:9). God’s word says that all Scripture is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction and training in how to practice righteousness, so that the man of God may know how to do good to please God (1 John 2:29; Matt. 5:16; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). How many people have studied the life of Christ for many years, but have never started to live like Him? We are to imitate Jesus Christ and the Father by daily practicing the sayings of Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1; 3 John 11). Jesus’ words will judge all humanity at the end of the age (John 12:47-48). Just being a Bible scholar does not justify a person, but being a doer of the word does (2 Tim. 3:7; Rom. 2:13; James 1:22; Luke 6:46). Jesus Christ made Himself perfectly clear about practicing righteousness. We are to perform the Father’s Will in our daily lives, as it is done in heaven (1 John 2:17; John 7:17; Matt. 6:10). Jesus says to do as He says, keep His word, walk in His commandments and act upon His sayings (Luke 8:21; 11:28; 6:47-48; 2 John 6; Matt. 7:24). The central teaching of the Bible is to engage in a life of good deeds, endure and not become weary in well-doing, and overcome our evil natures by doing good deeds (Titus 3:8; 2 Thess. 3:13; Heb. 10:36; Gal. 6:9; Rom. 2:7; 12:21; 6:18-19). If this is the kind of peculiar people Christ is making for Himself—and He is—we should then be studying the Bible to train ourselves in righteousness (Titus 2:14). As we keep the sayings of Jesus Christ and study to show ourselves approved to God, we will always be ready with the right answer, and ready to lead many to righteousness (Matt. 5:19; 1 Peter 3:15; Dan. 12:3). - How Do We Walk in the Spirit? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How Do We Walk in the Spirit? It is common for people to be confused by the expression, "Walk in the Spirit." Let us analyze what it means to walk in the Spirit. The Bible says that if we live to the flesh, we will die (Rom. 8:13). Living to the flesh is practicing the evil deeds of the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21; Matt. 15:19; Rev. 21:8). When we are baptized, we agree not to live in the flesh or live for self any longer, but to repent and start living for God by living to the Spirit. God is that Spirit, and He wants to be worshiped in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). If we perform only God’s Will in our daily walk with God, we will not carry out the desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). If we carry out the desires of the flesh, that is sin (1 Peter 4:1-2). But if we keep God’s Will, we overcome evil by doing good works (Rom. 12:21). If we are zealous for good works, we leave no room for our old selfish will to operate (1 Peter 3:13). Thus, we are putting to death the sinful deeds of the body by living to the Spirit, which is living for God (Rom. 8:13). God wants us to consider ourselves as dead to sin but alive to righteousness, by presenting our bodies as slaves to righteousness daily (Rom. 6:11; 1 John 3:7). We prove whose side we are on when we live as slaves to Jesus Christ (1 John 3:10). We continue doing this until we pass the hypocritical stage of the Pharisees and begin doing the Will of God gladly from the heart (Matt. 5:20; Eph. 6:6). God is glorified by good works (Matt. 5:16). We are admonished to be sure to engage in good works and to learn righteousness because this is how we walk in the Spirit (Titus 3:8, 14). Salvation is a free gift that cannot be earned, but it only goes to those who are repentant and live to serve others for the glory of God. Remember always, you were saved to serve. - What Was Paul's Message? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search What Was Paul's Message? The message the Apostle Paul gave would be the same message others gave about the saving of souls. His words would have started out the same as John the Baptist’s, Jesus Christ’s or the apostles’. "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand" (Matt. 3:2; 4:17; 10:7) - right now! He was saying, if Jesus Christ has given you ears to hear the message, and eyes to see the truth, you should repent this instant (Matt. 13:13)! You must "turn around" or live another way. That’s what repent means (Matt. 13:15). He was explaining that when you keep Jesus Christ’s commands, He will heal your eyes and open your ears (2 Cor. 3:16). He will show Himself to you (John 14:21). It is utterly amazing how many people are trying to understand the Bible without obeying it (2 Tim. 3:7)! How many times did Jesus Christ tell us to keep His words (Matt. 5:19; 7:24; Luke 8:21), do His words (Luke 10:28,37; 11:28), keep His sayings (John 12:47; 8:51; 13:15), keep His works (John 14:12; Matt. 7:21), keep His commandments (John 15:10; 1 Cor. 7:19), and walk in His commandments (1 John 2:17; 2 John 6)? Today, people lie, steal and commit adultery. They love their friends and hate their enemies. They attend church, holding to a form of religion but not possessing the power that results from living a godly life (2 Tim. 3:1-7). They are continually learning about something but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Tim. 3:7). This truth they are seeking is the truth about desiring to live godly in Jesus Christ (2 Tim. 3:12). It is the knowledge of how to repent, how to keep God’s Ways and how to do God’s Will daily on earth as it is done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). It is how to overcome and how to put to death the deeds of the flesh by living to the Spirit daily (Rom. 8:13; Gal. 5:16, 24). Paul overcame his fleshly nature by keeping the deeds of Christ (Rev. 2:26). His message of overcoming with Jesus Christ’s Spirit in us is seldom heard today. How many completed believers are there today who are zealous for good deeds or good works (Titus 2:14)? Jesus was glorifying the Father by good works (Matt. 5:16). He also said we will do greater works than He did because we will live longer than He lived (John 14:12). We are to leave this world a better place than when we came into it. We accomplish this by living like Jesus Christ and serving others in need. This was Paul’s message. wholewheatonline.com Search Purity - A Woman to Woman Article God frequently tests me to see how I will react to persecution. He allows Satan to orchestrate that persecution to see if I truly will love my enemies and those who persecute me. The most difficult persecution is when it comes from within your own home. Be ready! It will happen to test those God is calling and choosing. It is important to pray daily for God’s strength to handle any situation that may come up. Jesus lived to do good to everyone, even His enemies, and we should too (Matt. 5:44). Jesus Christ didn’t complain when they crucified Him. He said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34; 1 Peter 4:13). Every time my nature even begins to take offense, I say, “Father, forgive them; because they do not know what they are doing.” There isn’t time to be offended. Every precious minute must be happy and filled with thoughts of God’s Will and Ways, and God’s love for others. I must keep a pure heart and mind at all times. If I have done my best for God, I will say as Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God (Matt. 5:8). I will remember that to the pure, all things are pure (Titus 1:15). Let’s practice righteousness by practicing purity in our thoughts and actions. We must be strong with God’s strength and keep God’s Ways and God’s Will uppermost in our minds. If we keep clean hands and a pure heart, we will receive God’s blessings (Psalm 24:4-5). If we remain sensible and pure, the word of God will not be dishonored (Titus 2:5). Philippians 4:8 reminds us all inclusively, “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.” PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

- Will You Be Able To Stand? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Will You Be Able To Stand? Noah was the only person God found who was practicing righteousness in his day (Gen. 6:9; 7:1). Noah stood alone before God. He didn’t need a church, nor did he depend upon a body of people to provoke him weekly to do good for God. Noah was mature in his walk with God. His relationship was complete. We cannot be found righteous unless we live righteously every day. If we never do anything for God, by serving others in need as Jesus Christ our example did, we are not righteous, neither are we considered righteous by God. How is your personal relationship with God? By the time you’ve finished this article, you will see exactly what must be done to make it like Noah’s. Enoch, Abel, Job, Abraham, Elijah and the prophets of old were all righteous. They stood before God and stood alone as mighty men of God. Even when Job’s friends tried to discourage him, and his wife told him to curse God and die, Job’s one-to-one faith in God stood firm (Job 2:9-10). Many doers of the word who worshiped God in the past willingly gave their lives to God and laid down their lives as testimonies of their solid, unshakable, stand-alone faith. They trusted in the Rock of their salvation, Jesus Christ, and as a result, became solidly established in their faith—as rocks. The requirements of our faith in Jesus Christ are: A. Practice righteousness for God and keep Jesus Christ’s words and sayings (John 8:51). Continue to do God’s Will daily in our lives, remaining faithful by continually doing so. B. Study God’s word continually to find out what God’s Will is, and perform it daily in our lives (Eph. 5:17) C. Honor the Lord with your wealth, by setting aside from each paycheck a certain amount with which to do good for God (Prov. 3:9-10). This is God’s money and no longer ours. It is entrusted to us by God. We are His trusted servants who distribute that money to the poor, the needy, the stranger, or anyone who would borrow from us. You do not need to spend it all before the next paycheck, but safeguard what is put aside for God in your trust, and use it continually to do His Will. God Himself will continually teach you what to do with this amount you have set aside regularly to honor Him. God always teaches those who continually obey Him on a personal basis. He teaches us how to love one another, how to serve, how to give, how to share, and how to forgive one another continually. He wants to teach us about His Ways, but He can’t do this unless we continually, on a daily basis, imitate the Way He lives. D. Pray constantly for guidance, and for others (2 Tim. 1:3). Prayer is the tool we use to commit all our ways to God. It is how we break down all the strongholds of sin in our lives and put them into the captivity of Jesus Christ, making all our ways Christ’s Ways. It is how we telephone God and keep in touch daily. Prayer is how we make known to Him all our needs and desires. It is our hot line, a direct connection to the God whom we serve daily. Always remember, we have great favor with God because we serve others daily on His behalf, which makes us His true servants. We are continually serving others, and, as a result, we are continually growing more and more like Christ each day. We know the secret that God causes the growth when we serve others as Jesus Christ gave us example to do in His name (Col. 3:17). We know the secret, that unless we imitate Jesus Christ daily, we will never be like Him. We know that imitating Jesus Christ is how we repent, how we abide in Christ, how we clothe ourselves with Christ, how we become doers of the word of God, and how we overcome our evil natures and have Christ formed in us. If these things are in our lives and are continually increasing, we will never fail (2 Peter 1:3-10). God is making stand-alone disciples. He wants us to be stimulated to more love and good works daily, drawing near to Him through personal Bible study and as He continues to allow, through all the resources He has provided us on wholewheatonline.com, to stir up by way of reminder the simple truth God has called us to (Rom. 15:4-5; Heb. 3:13; 2 Peter 1:12-13). He wants us to seek Him with all our heart, and develop our one-to-one relationship with Him, maturing in our faith, so we are able to stand alone; going to Him for all our needs and learning to discern His voice (1 Chronicles 28:9; John 5:44; Acts 17:27; James 4:8; John 10:27). He wants us to be an example for those in our life that are not yet mature (Titus 2:7-8, 1 Tim. 4:12). Will you help Him and learn to stand-alone? Will you be His example of love? Will you show by your godly life and example how to live a repentant life before God daily (Heb. 5:12-14)? If you do, you will not only have found the purpose of life, but you will be living it and showing it in all your thoughts, words and deeds. You will be letting your light shine for God’s glory (Matt. 5:16). You will be an ambassador for Christ (2 Cor. 5:20). You will be like Noah, and will be ready for all that is to come (1 Cor. 16:13; 1 Pet. 5:8; Matt. 24:42). You will be the apple of God’s eye, His trusted servant, the one of whom He loudly proclaims, “This is my beloved son (or daughter) in whom I am well pleased” (2 Pet. 1:17). God is, and always will be, your friend because you cared enough for Him to have Jesus Christ formed in you (John 15:14). When you are fully trained, you will be like your Teacher, because you have been taught by Him (Luke 6:40). Now, you will be able to stand. - The Truth About Heaven and Hell | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The Truth About Heaven and Hell We have been taught from the time we were little children that the good people go to heaven and the wicked people go to hell. Those who go to heaven when they die are rejoined with loved ones. This teaching means we will never die. We have been told that hell is terrible, a place of eternal torment. There is fire there and people in hell burn forever and never die. The devil and his angels are there to torment those in hell day and night forever and ever. Hence, they never really die, but continue to live on and on and on. Some have claimed there is a spiritual prison in which all the dead are held under bondage until judgment. This, too, is a doctrine teaching that we will never die. It is a spiritual lie that cannot be proven true by the holy word of God. What does the God of the Bible say? Does the spirit live on after death? The word of God says, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die” (Ezek. 18:20). Yes, the soul can die. We are also instructed not to fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. Instead, we are told to fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (Matt. 10:28). So now we can see that souls can be killed by God. The Bible calls this the second death (Rev. 20:14; 21:8). People are subtly persuaded to believe they don’t really die. They are told they return to their angelic state when they die. Many who have fallen for this lie remain ignorant of God’s word. What does God’s true word say about what happens when you die? Your death is a sleep. All will be resurrected in the end. Did you hear? In the end! You do not go to heaven when you die. You sleep! Your spirit returns to God who gave it, but so does the sparrow’s spirit (Eccl. 12:7). God takes His Spirit away and you return to the dust. He sends forth His Spirit and you come alive again (Psalm 104:29-30; Ezek. 37:4-14). You cannot praise God in the grave because you cannot speak. God, who is true, says, in the very day you die, your thoughts perish (Eccl. 9:5, 10). The death of people is the same as animals ( Eccl. 3:19-20). So a man lies down and dies and does not rise until the heavens be no more (Job 14:12). The dead do not rise until when? Until the heavens be no more. That’s at the end of the age, at the return of Jesus Christ. The dead people will not rise nor be aroused out of their sleep. Job said he was going to wait in the grave until God called him and gave him a new body at the time of the resurrection (Job 14:14-15). When a man’s spirit departs, the word of God says, he returns to the earth, and in that very day, his thoughts perish. Do you believe God’s word (Psalm 146:4; 112:10)? The dead do not praise the Lord, nor do any who go down to silence (Psalm 115:17). At one point in time the dead are symbolically given white robes and told to rest for a little while longer (Rev. 6:9-10). This indicates they are resting now. These words are not cleverly devised tales (2 Peter 1:16). Jesus says that an hour is coming when all who are in the graves—not in heaven—shall hear His voice, and those who did the good works shall come forth to a resurrection of life (John 5:28-29; Rom. 2:7). Even King David, a man after God’s own heart, did not ascend to heaven (Acts 2:34). He is still in the grave, just as Jesus Christ said (Acts 2:29). No man has ascended to heaven. Now, Jesus wouldn’t lie, would He (John 3:13)? Only those who persevere in doing good will receive immortality or eternal life (Rom. 2:7). The Truth About Hell When Jesus Christ returns, He will create a lake of fire, which will be located in Jerusalem (Is. 31:9). The location could very well be in the valley of Gehenna, which is now a public park. The word Gehenna means hell. The first customer of the lake of fire will be the beast who has masqueraded as the returned Christ and given himself all the titles of Christ. This is the one whom the whole world will worship before Jesus Christ returns to the earth (Rev. 13:8). The second customer will be a man who made a statue in the likeness of this false christ and required everyone in the world to fall down and worship that statue or be put to death (Rev. 13:11-17). This religious deception is caused by God. All those who refuse the message of God’s simple truth so as to be saved will believe the false christ (2 Thess. 2:10-12; Rev. 17:17). Then, anyone who is not found in the book of eternal life will be cast into that same fire started by Jesus Christ at His return (Rev. 20:12-15). All whose deeds were righteous before God will be spared (Matt. 18:35; 15:8). But all whose deeds remained wicked and unrepentant will be destroyed, including those who do not practice righteousness for God or love their brother (1 John 3:10). They will be burned at the end of the age in the lake of fire and as they are burned, they will weep and gnash their teeth (Matt. 13:40-42). They will be totally destroyed forever—destroyed never to return again (Rev. 21:8; 2 Peter 3:7). They will be set ablaze and turned to ashes (Mal. 4:1-3). Remember, the word death means cessation of life or end. Eternal punishment is the end of spiritual life—the second death (Matt. 25:46). Satan will also be thrown into the lake of fire at a later time. “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Rev. 20:10—Notice, in many translations of the Bible, the word “are” is substituted for the original word “were”—past tense). The expression day and night forever is an extravagant way of saying for good, or forever. When trying to understand hell, many people are confused about the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. This was a parable—a riddle, an example—not an actuality. The rich man was being slowly burned with fire and was very thirsty. Lazarus was immortal. Now, since the rich man was mortal, there was a bridge between them. Lazarus was spiritual and the rich man was flesh. That bridge could not be crossed over by Lazarus (Luke 16:24). This parable emphasizes the importance of living for God now, while we have the opportunity. There is no second chance. The Truth About Heaven People believe their loved ones have gone to heaven already. What about Moses and Elijah in Matthew 17:4? That was a vision (Matt. 17:9). What about Paul? He didn’t know how he ascended, so how could you (2 Cor. 12:2)? He said only God knew what happened. It could have been a vision. What about Enoch? God took His Spirit out of Enoch’s body. Then God put Enoch’s spirit to sleep until the resurrection (Heb. 11:5). Remember, Jesus Christ was the first born of many brethren (Rom. 8:29; 1 Cor. 15:23). It is appointed once for all men to die, then comes the judgment (Heb. 9:27). Enoch is waiting to be born again (Heb. 11:39-40). God hid Enoch’s body, just as He hid Moses’ body, so men couldn’t build a building over it and use it to their advantage to further their own religions. The devil wanted Moses’ body to further his religious deception on this earth, and he argued with Michael for it (Jude 9). But God hid it from sight on Mount Nebo about 80 miles west of Jerusalem. What about Elijah? Approximately 12 years after Elijah was taken up in a chariot, he sent a letter to King Jehoram of Israel (2 Chron. 21:12-15). Remember, there are no thoughts in the grave, so if he died he could not have written the letter (Psalm 6:5). Elijah was still alive, but living elsewhere on this earth. He went into retirement. When Jesus was crucified, He died. If he didn’t die, then He lied. And if He died according to the Scripture, which cannot be broken, he had no thoughts in the grave. He went to sleep for three days and three nights. Jesus did not preach to the dead spirits of mortal men in prison. He had no thoughts in the grave. First Peter 3:18-19 says nothing about Jesus Christ preaching to somebody while He was in the grave. He had plenty of time to do that after He was resurrected and had a spiritual body. Incidentally, the “spirits now in prison” were the fallen angels of Jude 6, not dead humans. People in the churches have been lied to and most refuse to study their Bibles and ask God to show them His truth. They are afraid they might have to give up some cherished belief. They would rather put their trust in some man, even though the word of God continually warns them not to do that (Psalm 146:3; Is. 2:22). The Bible is not a private interpretation, but men from all ages have been moved by the Holy Spirit to write the words of God (2 Peter 1:20-21). God places a special curse on anyone who tampers with His words (Rev. 22:19). True disciples of Jesus Christ are warned not to be uninformed about those who are asleep (1 Thess. 4:13-17; 5:10). God does not want us to grieve, thinking we have no hope. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the trumpet of God. And those who died in Jesus Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Have you heard something different? Behold, I tell you a mystery, we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye (1 Cor. 15:51). When? At the last trumpet. When does the Bible say the last trumpet is (Rev. 11:15)? The trumpet will sound and the dead in Christ will be raised imperishable and we will be changed (1 Cor. 15:52). Many who profess to be followers of Christ are far removed from God’s true form of spiritual worship (John 4:24; Rom. 12:1; James 1:27; Psalm 37:27). The spiritual leaders of this world are leading people astray (Is. 3:12). Preachers are preaching on their own authority. God says He did not send them (Jer. 23:1, 11, 13-22). People love their false ministers, but what will they do in the end (2 Tim. 4:3-4; Jer 5:31)? We are admonished to prove all things by God’s word and to believe in only those things that can withstand the sure test of those Scriptures (2 Tim. 2:15). By knowing these truths, at least you have a choice about whether to stay deceived or not. Read your Bible and come out of religious deception once and for all! Seek the truth and it will set you free from being religiously misled (John 8:32). The Lord is with you when you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him. But if you forsake Him, He will forsake you forever (1 Chron. 28:9). PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

wholewheatonline.com Search It's Later Than You Think For the coming of the Son of Man will be just as the days of Noah (Matt. 24:37-38). People were still going about their business as usual. No one expected anything to happen. In other words, it came upon the whole world as a snare, a trap. Will Jesus Christ’s return come upon us at the end of this age as a snare? Luke 21:34-35 says, yes, indeed it will. Not only will it come upon this present-day society as a trap, but God’s word also states He is going to do things in our day that we would not believe, even if someone described them to us (Acts 13:41). Yes, if someone would describe them to the people, they would mock and scoff at that person and as a result, they will perish. Many say, “I would not scoff.” Well, here is your chance to find out. What else was going on in the days of Noah shortly before the flood—when all of mankind came into judgment and perished, with the exception of Noah and his family? God’s word says angels assumed a physical form, came down to earth and mated with human women (Gen. 6:4). Were these good angels or evil angels? God’s word says in Jude 6 and 7 that these were evil angels who did not keep their proper abode, but interfered in man’s affairs, and as a result, are going to be destroyed in the lake of fire along with their ruler, Satan, the devil (Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10). Is this happening again today? Very shortly, the man of sin, as he is called, will be revealed to the inhabitants of this world. He is also called the son of destruction, the man of lawlessness (2 Thess. 2:3). This “world teacher” who possesses all the powers of Satan. God’s word mentions this individual in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12. God is restraining this individual now, until the time when he will be revealed (2 Thess. 2:6-8). He will rule this earth for three and one-half years after this time. This beast will then be seized along with the false prophet—his side kick. They will be the first two to be destroyed by the Lord in the lake of fire when He returns shortly (Rev. 19:20). Notice what Revelation 12:12 says: “Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.” When did Satan come down to earth? Revelation 12:7-9 says it was after a war was fought in heaven. What is happening in our skies now? The mystery of lawlessness mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 are those who cause an apostasy, a falling away from the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to the god of paganism. The god of paganism is the god of this world, Satan. In the Bible, he is called “the beast” because his body is not human and his spirit is that of Satan. We advise people not to watch this man when he appears on television and makes his declaration to the world, because he is coming with all the power and authority of Satan (Rev. 13:2, 6-8). The whole world will eventually be deceived into worshiping him and taking his mark (666) or his name upon their right hand or forehead (Rev. 13:3-4, 16-18). Now is the time to prepare! Now is the time to repent! Now is the time to make all your ways pleasing to God, in thought, word and deed. Now is the time to seek God by studying His word daily. Now is the time to imitate Him by practicing His Ways in your life and stay true to Him until the end (Eph. 5:1). Our Lord Jesus Christ declared, we must overcome the satanic pulls of our evil natures by keeping and doing the deeds of Jesus Christ and enduring to the end (Rev. 2:26; Rom. 2:7; Eph. 2:10; John 14:12). If the greatest in the kingdom will be the servant of the most, then what’s going to happen to those who will not serve others for the Lord now? Remember always, it is the sheep who inherit the kingdom because on a daily basis, they serve others who need help, as Jesus Christ gave them example to do. They do all manner of righteous deeds in their daily lives for the Lord, whether in word or deed, as they are commanded to do (Col. 3:17). In short, the Lord’s true disciples only live to do good, as Jesus said we should. They feed the hungry, give clothes to those in need, visit the sick, invite in those who need a place to stay and visit those who are in prison (Matt. 25:33-40). All their deeds are done for the Lord, not for their own glory (Matt. 5:16). They are continual doers of the Lord’s words, and they are the ones who will abide forever because they are daily doers of God’s Will (John 8:51; 1 John 2:17). They perform God’s Will daily on earth as it is being done in heaven (Matt. 7:21; 6:10). How ridiculous are the words of the false prophets who say there is nothing to do to be accepted by God. True repentance is a glorious new life that one lives, a life of righteous good works done to please the Lord. If you are not living it, then you’re not accepted by God (2 Thess. 1:5; Matt. 25:41). Even the thief on the cross could pray for others and for the forgiveness of his sins. If he would have been taken down from that cross, he would have been required to live as a follower of Jesus Christ. He had a good excuse why he couldn’t physically live the righteous life, but we who are free do not. Ask yourself: 1.What did I do for the Lord yesterday to please Him (John 8:29)? 2.What did I do today to please the Lord (Col. 3:17)? 3.What do I plan to do tomorrow that will please the Lord (Eccl. 10:2; Prov. 16:9)? The answers to these questions let you know who you are living for, the Lord or the god of this world, Satan. In the dictionary, the word “godless” implies a simple definition of one who leaves God out of his life. Now is the time to repent and live the righteous life so you will not perish along with those who worship the beast and receive his mark. It is most definitely later than you think!
