- Do Good Works Come Naturally? | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Do Good Works Come Naturally? “When you have the Spirit of God, you just naturally do good works. You don’t have to consciously think of doing them; it’s a natural result of having His Spirit.” Is there anything wrong with the above statement? It sounds good to the ear. It even sounds reasonable. To be sure, let’s see if it holds up under the word of God. The apostles were commanded by Jesus Christ, in their three years of training, to teach people all that He commanded and taught them. What does this teach us? Jesus Christ commands us to do something (Matt. 28:20). Jesus says a determination is being made as to whether or not we will keep His commandments and bear fruit (Matt. 3:10). He says we must strive to enter by pushing ourselves, and many will not make it (Luke 13:24). We have to give up something—our old ways (Luke 14:33). We have to persevere to win our souls (Luke 21:19). We have to force our way into the kingdom (Luke 16:16). Our righteousness must surpass the hypocritical stage of the scribes and Pharisees who were hypocrites (Matt. 5:20; 23:5, 13). The Bible tells us we will eventually be like happy slaves, doing God’s Will (righteousness) from the heart (Eph. 6:6). But first we must overcome our natures by disciplining ourselves according to godliness; and to do this, we must force ourselves at times to do Christ’s works or deeds (1 Tim. 4:7; Rev. 2:26; John 14:12). We are told to fight the good fight of faith (1 Tim. 1:18; 2 Tim. 4:7). We are told to endure to the end to be saved (Matt. 10:22; 24:13; Heb. 10:36). In other words, we are to do good deeds of righteousness until the end (Heb. 10:24-25). We must not grow weary or lose heart in doing good deeds (Gal. 6:9). We have to live this Way daily to be worthy of Christ (Matt. 10:38). We are commanded to be careful to engage in good deeds for the purpose of overcoming the devil (Titus 3:8; Rom. 12:21). If we prove zealous for good deeds and allow God to crush Satan’s will in our lives, he can do us no harm (1 Peter 3:13; 2 Tim. 2:26; Rom. 16:20). Now, let’s ask the question again. “Will you naturally do good as a result of having God’s Spirit in you?” In order to continue to think that doing good is automatic for a disciple of Jesus Christ, a person would have to cancel out all of the above Scriptures, and they represent but a few of the many which can be found in God’s word on this subject (Psalm 11:7). - Faith and Grace | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Faith and Grace The subject of faith has been so badly abused that we have a world full of faithless people who call themselves Christians. Is salvation by faith or is salvation by grace? Doesn’t salvation come through repentance and obedience to God’s word? Doesn’t the Bible teach that those who do the Will of God will abide forever and enter the kingdom (1 John 2:17; Matt. 7:21)? Don’t you have to keep Christ’s words to overcome and never see death (John 8:51; Rev. 2:26)? The whole subject of faith and grace cannot be clearly understood unless you understand the subjects of faith and works. Without the works of faith, faith is dead, being by itself (James 2:14-26). Jesus Christ’s faith had good works, so His faith was not dead. Jesus was always imitating the Father daily, just as we are admonished to do (Eph. 5:1). If you say that you know the Lord, you must keep His word (John 8:55). You keep the Lord’s word by doing the works of the Father daily. You show people how to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ and you are ready to tell them, should they ask you, how to become a true disciple (Psalm 51:13; John 10:37). Jesus did not come to the earth to do His own Will, but to do the Will of the Father daily as it is done in heaven (John 4:34; 5:30; 6:38). Jesus did good works to glorify God in the Father’s name (Matt. 5:16; John 10:25). We, today, are to do good works in thought, word and deed, in the name of Jesus, giving thanks through Him to the Father (Col. 3:17). We need to be filled with the knowledge of God’s Will and have our minds renewed (Col. 1:9; Rom. 12:2). We cannot remain fools if we want to do God’s Will from the heart (Eph. 5:17; 6:6). We must diligently serve the Lord by happily practicing righteousness at all times so we can be blessed by Him and changed by Him (Rom. 12:11; Matt. 11:30; Psalm 106:3). If you keep Christ’s faith, you will engage in good works (Titus 3:8). You can rightly say that you believe because you are obeying the gospel and are a doer of the Lord’s word (James 1:22). Then by grace, God will forgive all your sins, past, present and future. He will then give you the free gift of eternal life because you repented and brought forth good works to prove it (Acts 26:20). - How to Get out of a Mess | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Get out of a Mess A mess is generally made up of many parts. The first thing to do is realize that you are part of it and whatever part you are, makes little difference. Messes are the result of sins, and the good life is the result of righteousness. If you want a mess, continue to sin. If you want the good life, then start being good by doing good (Rom. 12:21; 1 Peter 3:10-11). It is the only way to solve your problems. Now, if you do good for anyone, except God, you will get puffed-up and think you are a pretty nice person and that again is sin. God says your righteousness, if not done to please God, is as a flithy rag or as the original Hebrew text says, dirty menstrual cloth (Is. 64:6). Since Jesus Christ said He was not good, and yet all He did was good, it would be blasphemy for us to think of ourselves as good, except through Jesus Christ (Luke 18:19; 24:19; Acts 10:38; John 21:25). Paul understood this, because he said, "I am convinced that there is no good thing in me" (Rom. 7:18; 8:1). Now, there are some other directions to follow. You have got to care to get there, and you must start to finish. You must keep your eye upon the goal. You must persevere to win your soul (Luke 21:19). The more good you do, the better you will feel. The better you feel, the more good you will do. It is an endless glory race, that makes you wear a happy face. Jesus said it is easy, pleasant and rewarding (Matt. 11:30; 6:33). Jesus Christ wants you to come to Him (Matt. 11:28-29; 2 Tim. 2:7). This is why He came. Will you study His word daily so He can teach you? Will you live to please God every day, in all that you think, do and say? If you do, He will please you and bless all you do, and answer your prayers when you pray. God can help you get out of the mess you are in, if you will obey Him and live for Him daily. - Inner Strength | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Inner Strength When we read about early disciples of Jesus Christ and the trials and tortures they went through, we realize they had to have inner strength to endure to the end. What is this mysterious inner strength and where does it come from? Most importantly, how do we obtain it? We must look into God’s word to find out how to have inner strength. Philippians 3:3 says, "For we are of the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh." What is being said here? The Apostle Paul is saying that when we serve God and worship Him by being servants of others on His behalf, we are of the true faith of Jesus Christ (Rom. 12:1-21; 6:13; 8:12-13; Gal. 5:16; Matt. 23:11). We give Jesus Christ the credit and the glory and put no confidence in the flesh (Col. 3:17; Phil. 3:3). In other words, we do not trust in our strength but in the strength God gives to us when we put our faith in Him. First Peter 4:11 says the person who is serving God by serving others and making all his ways pleasing to Him should do so by the strength God supplies, so that in all things, God may be glorified through Jesus Christ (Matt. 5:16). We are to cast all our anxieties, our troubled thoughts, our problems and our frustrations on God, and He will take them from us (1 Peter 5:7). There is no more condemnation for us (feeling bad about ourselves or our shortcomings) when we are living the way Jesus Christ showed us to live daily (Rom. 8:1; 1 John 3:18-21). In plain language, how can we build inner strength? 1. Inner strength comes from living for God daily and no longer for self (which is living to the flesh). 2. Inner strength comes from living the life of Jesus Christ in our bodies and doing the deeds that Jesus, our example, did (Rev. 2:26). 3. Inner strength comes from perfecting our faith by doing righteous works, as Abraham did (James 2:21-23). 4. Inner strength comes from trusting in God daily for our daily needs. 5. Inner strength comes from passing our tests and trials, and enduring the sufferings God brings upon us to perfect our faith (Heb. 12:3-11; 1 Peter 2:24; 4:1, 12-13, 18-19; 5:10; Heb. 5:8-9; Phil. 4:6). How many people cast all their anxieties, troubles and woes on Jesus Christ, and experience the inner strength that comes from God by doing so (1 Peter 5:7)? Remember, God does not hear sinners, but only those who show Him respect by doing His Will daily on this earth as it is being done in heaven (John 9:31; Matt. 6:10; 7:21; 12:50; 1 John 2:17, 29; 3:7; 1 Peter 2:15; 4:2-6; Luke 8:21; Eph. 5:17; Rom. 12:2). So let’s live for God and then trust in Him for the inner strength that cannot fail. - God's Royal Insurance Policy | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search God's Royal Insurance Policy Being a servant of God has so many benefits that it truly is a royal insurance policy. God’s royal insurance policy protects you from famine, disease and war (Psalm 33:19; 91:3, 5-7; 103:3; Prov. 10:3). It will lead you out of all your troubles (Job 5:20-27; Prov. 11:8; 12:13, 21). All things in life turn out for good for those who are the policyholders (Rom. 8:28). If someone came to your door and offered such a policy, and you had faith in the company, it would be the easiest policy in the world to sell (Acts 2:40). This policy gives you wisdom just for the asking, spiritual power just for the asking, and answered prayer, when in accordance with the Will of the policy (James 1:5; 1 John 3:22; John 9:31; 15:7, 16; 16:24; Matt. 21:22). It guarantees you abundance, joy, peace and love, as Abraham had (John 10:10; 17:13; Gen. 24:1; 25:8). It guarantees you obedient children who do not go astray when they are older (Prov. 22:6) when you follow the royal advice of Proverbs 29:15 and 17. It even guarantees you power to get wealth the right way—God’s Way (Prov. 10:22; 13:21). God wants you to partake in this royal insurance policy, but you must remain faithful to the premium by living Christ’s Way of life. Jesus Christ qualified you to be a policyholder regardless of your present condition, but you must not stay in your present condition. You must die to self and deny your old way of life daily (1 Cor. 15:31; Luke 9:23). Instead, you must live Christ’s new Way of life (Heb. 10:20; Matt. 21:32). This is done by practicing righteousness, good deeds and good works to please and glorify the Father (1 John 2:29; Gal. 6:9; John 10:25, 32, 37-38; 14:12; Matt. 5:16). You must do all that you do and say in Christ’s name as a happy slave of Christ (Col. 3:17; Eph. 6:6; Rom. 6:18-19). Overcome your nature by doing good, being zealous, persevering in good works and keeping Christ’s deeds, which are all righteous—God’s righteousness (1 Peter 3:13; Rom. 12:21; 2:7; 10:3; Luke 21:19; Rev. 2:26; Prov. 19:17). You must strive until God creates in you a new nature, establishes you, and puts your nature under your heel (Luke 13:24; Prov. 22:9; 1 Peter 5:10; Heb. 10:36; Rom. 16:20). Jesus Christ’s Way is easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30). Children would have no problem with it (Matt. 19:14; 18:4). But once you start, don’t look back; just keep going straight forward into the good life, which is the godly life that God has been waiting for many to live (Luke 17:31; 1 Tim. 4:7; Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1; Titus 1:1). - It's So Simple: A Woman to Woman Article | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search It's So Simple: A Woman to Woman Article It’s so simple, yet people simply don’t see it. It’s as simple as what I ask of my children each day. All I ask is that they act kindly toward others—doing whatever they can to make others happy, especially grandparents or any other elderly people they see or have over to their home. Yes, this simple way is God’s Way of life. We ask our children to use good words towards each other. And when evil thoughts come into their minds, we tell them to just get rid of them by thinking of something good to do—and then doing it for God. If any child visits our home and they are undisciplined, no matter what their problem, we ask our children to be kind and show them a good time. It’s such a beautiful way to live. Our children have actually influenced other children to be respectful to their parents. They have helped other children to clean up their mouth and to stop swearing. They have shown others how to keep their rooms neat and help their mother clean the rest of the house. Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Only those who do good are of God (3 John 11). We are the children of God. God is our Father, and we show Him respect daily by continually doing what is right in His sight (1 John 3:22). Will you be that child I described above? Will you glorify your Father in heaven every moment of every day? Life is simply wonderful when we live this simple, beautiful Way of life. We become precious to God when we serve Him continually in this wonderful Way called “the Way of righteousness” (Matt. 21:32; 2 Peter 2:21). - How Father's Can Do God's Will | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search How Father's Can Do God's Will God wants to bless families, but He cannot unless the family members allow Him to bless them by being obedient to His Ways. In God’s plan for marriage, husbands are the leaders, providers and disciplinarians; while wives are the helpers, encouragers and homemakers (Eph. 5:22-23; Prov. 22:6; 31:10-31; Heb. 12:9; Gen. 2:18). God chose Abraham because He knew he would bring up his children and the rest of the household in the Ways of the Lord. He would encourage them to practice righteousness and honesty in all their dealings with their fellow man, and he would be a godly example himself (Gen. 18:19). Abraham brought up his children with discipline and instructed them in the Ways of the Lord. He was careful not to over-discipline his children so as to discourage them from living God’s Way (Eph. 6:4; Col. 3:21). Children learn respect for their parents through balanced discipline and love. "For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?" God’s word says (Heb. 12:7). "Our fathers disciplined us and we respected them" (Heb. 12:9). Yes, the father who neglects discipline despises himself (Prov. 15:32). God knows that foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but loving, godly discipline will remove it far from him (1 Cor. 16:14; Prov. 22:15; 29:15, 17, 19; 19:18). Fathers, there is no substitute for discipline (Prov. 13:24). God believes in discipline done in wisdom and in love, never in anger (Jer. 10:24). There are also other forms of discipline you can use, such as depriving disobedient children of some of their freedom. Be sure to continually seek the Lord for wisdom. Wives who are living to please the Lord are commanded to be subject to their husbands. Help and encourage your husband to obey the Lord and do not discourage him when he disciplines the children. Do not hinder him, as Eve hindered her husband (Col. 3:18; 1 Cor. 11:8-9; 1 Tim. 2:14). Husbands, your wives cannot be in subjection to you until you are in subjection to God and have fulfilled your rightful duties to the Lord by being the loving master of your own household. Let us be prepared to meet the Lord should He return shortly (Luke 1:17). Let us stop depriving ourselves of happiness because we rebel against God’s Ways. After all, God’s Ways are all good for us (1 Cor. 7:3-5). PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International

Give Your Anxieties to God Christ commands us to cast our anxieties on Him. He says we are to practice thinking only what is beautiful and peaceful. We are to seek peace and pursue it earnestly and turn away from evil by doing good for Him daily. This is the Will of God. We are to clean up our speech, clean up our thoughts and clean up our actions by practicing righteousness daily to glorify God. We are to pray to God for all our needs and wants, as well as for the needs and wants of others. Then, we are to have confidence that we will receive what we have asked of God in our prayers because we are living to please Him daily. Jesus Christ wants us to enter the good life that He has waiting for us. We enter this good life when we start doing good for others for the glory of God. This is how Christ is formed in us and we become new creations. Our anxieties begin to disappear when we enter this good life and rest from all our works of the flesh. Casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 He must turn away from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. 1 Peter 3:11 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. wholewheatonline.com Search Are You a Servant of God? A servant of God does not live to please self but to please only God, as Jesus Christ did (Rom. 15:1-3; Phil. 2:7-8; Matt. 20:26-28). A servant of God is one who serves others in need, for God, and in so doing, imitates God daily (Matt. 19:21; Col. 3:17; 1 John 3:17-18; Luke 6:36; Eph. 5:1). God is glorified by good works done for His glory. This is how you let your light shine (Matt. 5:16). People notice you because you are so peculiar and unusual (Titus 2:14; 1 Peter 1:12)! A servant of God does not serve the flesh (Rom. 6:4-13). God’s servant lives to the Spirit daily and thus puts the evil desires of the flesh to death (Gal. 5:16, 19-21; 1 Peter 3:18; Rom. 8:12-14). God is the Spirit, and constantly living to please God by serving others is how you worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). A true servant of God visits people in hospitals and gives clothing to those he knows need it. He is always ready to help those who are needy. He helps those who need food by providing what they need (Eph. 4:28). If anyone needs lodging, God’s servant takes care of the need (Matt. 25:33-40). God’s servant has a humble attitude when serving these people, as Abraham and Lot did (Gen. 17:3; 18:2). A servant of God lifts people’s spirits with his words of love, hope and joy (Heb. 10:24; 1 Thess. 5:11; Eph. 4:29). A servant of God spreads good will with his words. A servant of God does all his good works in the name of Jesus Christ, as he has been commanded to do by Jesus Christ (Col. 3:17). A servant of God keeps God’s word by practicing righteousness (1 John 3:7; 2:29). This is how he practices his faith, and it works because it is a faith of works (James 2:14-26). The person who does not practice righteousness daily is not a servant of God (Rom. 10:5-6, 10; 1 John 3:10). Are you a servant of God as defined by God’s word? Will you become one? - Forgive & Forget: A Woman to Woman Article | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Forgive & Forget: A Woman to Woman Article I was talking to a friend the other day. We were discussing how we feel when we are wronged or offended. My friend said, “I forgive but I never forget. I know that’s not right but I cannot help it. That’s the way I am.” Let’s look at God’s word and see if He forgives and forgets. Starting with “The Lord’s Prayer” in Matthew 6:12 and 14, we find that if we forgive others for their transgressions, then our heavenly Father will also forgive ours. Matthew 6:15 tells us very plainly that if we do not forgive others, our heavenly Father will not forgive our transgressions. Read it for yourself! “But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins” (Matt. 6:15). Mark 11:26 says again, “But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions.” A valuable lesson is found in 2 Corinthians 2:10-11. “If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” Who wants us to dwell on the wrongs and offenses done to us and not forgive each other? Satan! He promotes dissension and evil schemes among people. He wants confusion and disharmony among God’s people. We are reminded in Ephesians 4:32 to be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven us. Colossians 2:13-14 clearly tells us that we are dead when we are in our sins or transgressions, but when the Lord forgives us all our transgressions, the certificate of debt against us is canceled and taken away. Jesus Christ’s death assures us this when we live to please Him daily by practicing righteousness. 1 John 1:9 tells us again that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I strive to imitate God’s example of forgiveness daily. “For Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon Thee” (Psalm 86:5). Now we see how forgiving our heavenly Father is. But does He forget? Let’s look at Hebrews 10:17. “And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Does God forgive and forget? Yes, indeed! So let’s imitate Him daily by forgiving and forgetting the wrongs and offenses that have been done to us, just as Jesus Christ Himself would do. “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children”—Ephesians 5:1. - How to Abide in Christ | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Abide in Christ Many people, when they hear an expression in the Bible like, "Abide in Christ," do not readily understand what it means. If a person abides in his house, he stays there. If one abides by the decision of the judge, he obeys the judge. In John 15:7, the phrase would mean to "remain stable" or "fixed in one’s state." In John 15:7, Jesus is saying, if we live as He does by keeping His words, then our prayers will certainly be answered. If we say we abide in Him, we also ought to live in the same manner as Jesus lived or walked (1 John 2:6). Jesus was constantly doing things that were pleasing in the Father’s sight (John 8:29). When we live this Way, we are assured of having our prayers answered (1 John 3:22). Living to please the Father daily is easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30). It does not take a great deal of intelligence, but we must have the attitude of a child to live God’s Way of life (Matt. 18:4; Mark 10:15; Luke 18:17; 1 Cor. 1:26-28). God-fearing parents would train their children not to swear, lie, steal or cheat. Instead, they would train their children to get involved in doing good things and to continue to do good, overcoming evil by doing good. God wants the same (Rom. 12:21). Our heavenly Father wants us to do the same so He can bless us instead of send curses on us daily (Heb. 12:5-11; Acts 3:26). We are, by nature, children of wrath (Eph. 2:3). But we come out from under the wrath of God when we become obedient to Christ (John 3:36). Unless we are abiding in Christ daily by practicing righteousness for God, we are all being held captive to do Satan’s will (2 Tim. 2:26). If we are not abiding in Christ, we are doing Satan’s will. But if we are overcoming evil by doing God’s Will daily on earth as it is constantly being done in heaven, we are abiding in Christ (Matt. 6:10). Doing God’s Will is doing good works and this is how we abide in Christ (John 9:31; 1 John 2:17). - Doing God's Will With Your Mouth | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Doing God's Will With Your Mouth You may recall seeing the three monkeys that depict hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil. It is true that what we see with our eyes and hear with our ears affects how we think, and has a direct bearing on what we say. If we train our ears and eyes not to listen to or look upon violence, we will have a better attitude mentally. Watching television shows or movies that depict violence, sexual promiscuity or perversion does have a lasting harmful effect on the human brain. God hates those who love violence (Psalm 11:5). He also hates the perverted mouth (Prov. 8:13). God hates evil. He hates people who are arrogant and full of pride, He loves righteousness (Psalm 11:7). God wants us to keep our tongues from speaking evil, lying and from using naughty talk which includes telling dirty jokes (Psalm 34:11-13). He wants us to depart from the evil way by doing good (Psalm 34:14-15; 37:27). When all our words are good, God will satisfy us with good. Just as the deeds of a man’s hands return to him, so also do the words of his mouth. God watches everything we do (Prov. 12:14; 15:3). Fools mock when they are told to stop sinning so God can bless them (Prov. 14:9). God says we are fools if our mouths are perverted (Prov. 19:1). Christ, our example, did not swear and neither should we (1 Peter 2:22; 4:11). We should not quarrel with our mouths (Prov. 20:1-3). It is by our deeds of mouth, as well as body, that we distinguish ourselves as righteous or wicked (Prov. 20:11). We are to put our lives in order, in a right and pleasing way, before God. This is how we show God we are thankful to know Him and have His protection and blessings (Psalm 18:47). Sure, it is a sacrifice, a sacrifice of righteousness and thanksgiving (Psalm 50:22-23; Heb. 13:16). Let's live our lives so we will see good days (1 Peter 3:10-13). Let us not be numbered with those who turned against righteousness (2 Peter 2:21; 1 John 1: 6). How can we, who told God we would die to sin, keep on sinning (Rom. 6:2, 23)? Let us abhor what is evil and not disqualify ourselves from eternal life (Rom. 12:9; 1 Cor. 9:27). Let us seek our neighbor’s good, and not our own first, when we talk (1 Cor. 10:24). Let all that we say be said in love because this pleases God in heaven (1 Cor. 16:14; 2 Cor 5:9). Let us not continue to be "sons of disobedience," getting drunk and using our mouths for evil, but please Him in all respects (Eph. 2:1-3; 5:18; Col. 1:10, 12). Consider the members of your body as dead to sin (Col. 3:5-17). Clean up your mouth, put on the new self and do all that you do for God (Col. 3:23-25; Mark 7:20, 23). - How Can Teenagers Serve God? | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search How Can Teenagers Serve God? Teenagers, your parents want the best for you. All your life they have nursed you when you were sick and worried over you when you were bad. Now, you are about to become an adult. When you are an adult, you will be responsible for your own actions and behavior. Indecision will be one of your enemies. Anxiety, irresponsibility, indifference and selfishness will be other enemies. But look, this is nothing more than human nature at work in your members. The good news is that Jesus Christ came to destroy the old nature in us when we put on the new nature in Christ. The method is simple. The results are astounding, because Jesus Christ and the Father never start something they don’t finish. We could all be successful if we would just get out of our own way. Yes, we are our own worst enemy—our human nature, the fleshly nature. Read what God says our nature is in Ephesians 2:1-3; 5:5; 2 Timothy 2:26; Galatians 5:19-21 and Matthew 15:19. How do you receive a new nature? Live to please God daily, as Jesus Christ our example lived (Luke 9:23; Matt. 10:38; 1 John 2:6). Do God’s Will, which is doing righteous deeds towards others (Matt. 5:16; 12:50; Luke 8:21; 11:28; 1 Peter 2:12). These are the same works that Jesus Christ said we would do more of than He did, for He was to be crucified at the age of 33 (John 14:12; Rev. 2:26). Practice righteousness for God until He makes it come from your heart (1 Peter 4:12-13). As you practice righteousness, God will perfect you through mild testing or suffering (1 Peter 5:10). Normally you suffer for doing wrong, but when you suffer for doing what is right, you can receive His new nature and enter the kingdom that is within you (1 Peter 4:1; Rom. 6:11; Gal. 4:19; Luke 17:21 King James Version). You must force yourself into it and seize it for yourself (Luke 16:16; Matt. 11:12). Soon your righteousness will exceed that of the scribes and the Pharisees and you will be a happy slave to Christ (Matt. 5:20). You will be doing all your righteous works—which is God’s Will—from your heart (Eph. 6:6). Don’t delay! Be happy today (Matt. 25:33-40). - How to Worship God | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Worship God How does God want to be worshiped (Rev. 14:7)? God wants us to worship Him in a certain way. This Way is by practicing kindness one to another and being honest in all our dealings. He wants us to continue living this Way, waiting for the return of Jesus Christ (Hosea 12:6). He wants us to do good, instead of practicing evil, so God will be with us (Amos 5:14-15). God has told us what He considers good. Yes, this is to practice kindness and honesty, to walk as God walks, and stay humble and teachable (Micah 6:8; Eph. 5:1). God continually warned His people in the past to dispense true Justice - be honest in all dealings with men - and practice kindness and compassion toward others. He told them to take care of the widows and orphans in the land. He told them to make sure they did not oppress the stranger (one who is of a different nationality) in their land. God wants equal opportunity for each man, so He said not to devise evil toward another person (Zech. 7:9-10). People of the past would not change. Instead, they made their hearts like flint. They would not practice righteousness daily toward their fellow man for God! God sent His prophets to warn the people to change and to practice righteousness. This was the everlasting gospel of the prophets, and it was the message that got them stoned (Heb. 4:2; 11:35-37; Rev. 6:9). The way that a man should live is not in himself (Jer. 10:23). His heart is desperately wicked (Jer. 17:9). Instead, we are to trust in God and not lean on our own understanding (Prov. 3:5-6). We are to acknowledge Him in all our ways, saying, "If the Lord wills" (James 4:15). Pray to Him! Depend on Him! Put your faith in Him! Live for Him! Talk like He does! Walk like He does! Sing songs to Him. This is how you show your love to Him! This is how you truly worship Him in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). This is true worship of God. - The Biblical Definition of Idolatry | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search The Biblical Definition of Idolatry Surprising as it may be, Webster’s Dictionary agrees with God’s word when it says any object (symbol or representation) that is used for worship (religious reminder) is an idol. It is any object of extreme devotion. This would include pictures, crosses, statues or any form of religious symbolism such as the use of birds, fishes, animals or insects as religious reminders (Deut. 4:15-19). Noah Websters 1828 Dictionary agrees with the Scripture and expounds even more than the traditional dictionary to state that an idol is: an image, form or representation, usually of a man or other animal, consecrated as an object of worship; a pagan deity. Idols are usually statues or images, carved out of wood or stone, or formed of metals, particularly silver or gold. It also says; Idolatry is of two kinds; the worship of images, statues, pictures, etc. made by hands; and the worship of the heavenly bodies, the sun, moon and stars, or of demons, angels, men and animals. But these are not the only definitions of idolatry. Noah Websters Dictionary also states that idolatry is any thing on which we set our affections; that we indulge an excessive attachment to. Think about what things in your life might fall under that category. The Bible says anything that keeps you from doing what God says you should do is an idol or anything you put ahead of God (Col. 3:5). The whole armor of God is Bible study, prayer and continually living the life of doing good for God’s glory (Eph. 6:13). God wants you to live for Him each day by studying His word, praying to him and living your life to please Him (2 Tim. 2:15; Prov. 15:8; Eph. 5:10). Anything that stops you from doing so is an idol. Anything that comes between you and what God wants you to do daily is idolatry. Remember, stubbornness is the same sin as witchcraft in God’s eyes (1 Sam. 15:23). Finally, idolatry is anything that exalts itself. It is anything that makes itself more important than what God has said in His word you should do (Ex. 20:3). In short, you should not make excuses, or provisions, for failing to do what God has instructed you to do daily (Phil. 2:3; Jer. 7:23-24). If God said it, that should settle it. What man says in opposition to God’s word should not be followed, for it too is idolatry (Acts 5:29). - Renewing Your Mind in Christ | WHOLE WHEAT
Renewing Your Mind in Christ Jesus did not come to the earth to do His own Will, but to do the Will of the Father daily as it is done in heaven. Jesus did good works to glorify God in the Father’s name. We, today, are to do good works in thought, word and deed, in the name of Jesus, giving thanks through Him to the Father. We need to be filled with the knowledge of God’s Will and have our minds renewed. We cannot remain fools if we want to do God’s Will from the heart. We must diligently serve the Lord by happily practicing righteousness at all times so we can be blessed by Him and changed by Him. Then by grace, God will forgive all your sins, past, present and future. He will then give you the free gift of eternal life because you repented and brought forth good works to prove it. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. John 6:38 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. Colossians 3:17 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2 Not by way of eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart. Ephesians 6:6 Not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. Romans 12:11 But kept declaring both to those of Damascus first, and also at Jerusalem and then throughout all the region of Judea, and even to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds appropriate to repentance. wholewheatonline.com Search Ready Set Go! If you are doing God's Will on this earth, as it is being done in heaven, then the Lord has something special to say to you: Remember what you have received and heard. Keep it, obey it and repent, by putting My words into practice. If you will not wake up and repent, I will come like a thief and you will not know at what hour I will come to you (Rev. 3:3 NASB & AMP). Yes, God is talking to all of us who are overcoming our evil natures by keeping Jesus Christ’s deeds. He is reminding His followers to practice the deeds He did as an example, and to endure until He returns (Rev. 2:26). If we who are His true servants zealously continue to practice being servants of others until God’s Will begins to come from our hearts, we will all be ready (Matt. 5:20; Eph. 6:6). True followers of Jesus Christ are continually admonished not to become weary in a life of doing good (2 Thess. 3:13). We are to pray always that we will be found worthy to escape all those things which are shortly coming upon this world. We are to pray that we will be counted worthy to survive and stand before Jesus Christ physically when He returns (Luke 21:36). These are solemn warnings to believers which should be heeded. Many people will wait until what they feel is the last minute. Then they plan to live for God by being a servant to others. They feel they’re too busy to take Jesus Christ’s words seriously and take action in their lives now. As a result, that day will come upon them as a trap and it will be too late (Luke 21:34). I feel those who perished in the time of Noah had this very same attitude, don’t you? We know that Jesus will return to take His people to a place of safety. He will come suddenly, like a thief, so we need to prepare to be ready—all set to go. How can we be ready? 1. We should continually live the repentant life by being servants of others (Matt. 23:11). 2. We must study God’s word daily, looking for Scriptures that pertain to the righteous, and then fulfill those Scriptures within our lives. Some examples are Luke 14:13; 6:35; James 2:14-16 and Luke 3:10-14. 3. We are to pray for others always and for our own needs also (1 Thess. 5:17). 4. We should commit everything to God, from brushing our teeth for God first thing in the morning to our prayers just before we retire (Col. 3:17). 5. We should keep the Lord always on our minds, and keep our thoughts and deeds pleasing to Him in all respects (Phil. 4:8; Isa. 26:3). Zealous, wholehearted, steadfast, persevering—these words describe a true disciple who is totally committed to God. They describe one who has an honest and good heart. This type of person is bearing godly fruit. He is building godly righteous character that not only has promise for this life, but also the life to come (Luke 8:15; Rev. 3:10; Col. 1:10; 1 Cor. 9:24-27; 1 Tim. 4:8; 2 Tim. 2:5-6). Remember always, winners never quit and quitters never win. Let’s be all ready and set to go, so that when the Lord comes as a thief, we will be ready—set to go with Him.` PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International

wholewheatonline.com Search Perfect: A Woman to Woman Article Most every girl dreams of the “perfect life.” She dreams of that special, awesome day when she’ll walk down the aisle to wed the man of her dreams and when she’ll have her own little house to take care of. As she dreams of her perfect house with her perfect man, she tends to forget that she must become the perfect woman. Isn’t this true? Being the perfect woman is very easy. The perfect woman of God puts God first by studying her Bible, praying and looking for opportunities to serve God, and continually doing good for God each day - doing all she does, even the most mundane tasks, for the glory of God. She is prepared to serve others at anytime and prays for others continually. Perfect means spiritually mature, stable, steadfast and immovable—continually serving God. Her life is centered around helping others to please God. She is a shining light in a dark world (Matt. 5:16). When she gives a lunch or party, she includes those who cannot pay her back—the blind, lowly, handicapped, orphans or widows (Luke 14:13-14). Proverbs 31:10-31 describes the perfect godly woman and Jesus Christ says to be perfect, as our heavenly Father is perfect (Matt. 5:48). When a woman strives to be perfect, she is a jewel to God and to her husband; in fact, she is worth far more than jewels, according to Proverbs 31:10. The godly woman represents strength and dignity, and she never points her finger or speaks wickedness about anyone (Prov. 31:25; Is. 58:9). When she opens her mouth she is kind, and uses wisdom, in her speech. She is caring, loving, compassionate and understanding, teaching God’s Ways of charity to others. She takes good care of her home and sees that it is clean. She is not lazy (Prov. 31:27). Her children love her and have only good to say about her (Prov. 31:28). She is like Dorcas—continually abounding with deeds of kindness and charity (Acts 9:36). “Charm is deceitful; beauty is vain; but a woman who fears (obeys) the Lord, she shall be praised” (Prov. 31:30). Study Proverbs 31:10-31. It is one of the greatest sets of Scriptures in the Bible because it offers guidelines on how to be a godly woman. We want to be aware of what God expects of a godly woman, so we can please Him in all our ways and be a perfect woman of God.
