- It's So Simple: A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search It's So Simple: A Woman to Woman Article It’s so simple, yet people simply don’t see it. It’s as simple as what I ask of my children each day. All I ask is that they act kindly toward others—doing whatever they can to make others happy, especially grandparents or any other elderly people they see or have over to their home. Yes, this simple way is God’s Way of life. We ask our children to use good words towards each other. And when evil thoughts come into their minds, we tell them to just get rid of them by thinking of something good to do—and then doing it for God. If any child visits our home and they are undisciplined, no matter what their problem, we ask our children to be kind and show them a good time. It’s such a beautiful way to live. Our children have actually influenced other children to be respectful to their parents. They have helped other children to clean up their mouth and to stop swearing. They have shown others how to keep their rooms neat and help their mother clean the rest of the house. Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Only those who do good are of God (3 John 11). We are the children of God. God is our Father, and we show Him respect daily by continually doing what is right in His sight (1 John 3:22). Will you be that child I described above? Will you glorify your Father in heaven every moment of every day? Life is simply wonderful when we live this simple, beautiful Way of life. We become precious to God when we serve Him continually in this wonderful Way called “the Way of righteousness” (Matt. 21:32; 2 Peter 2:21). - Study to Show Yourself Approved | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Study to Show Yourself Approved Part of the Will of God is to study the Bible (2 Tim. 2:15). Many who study the Bible, study for information rather than correction. Disciples of Jesus Christ are admonished not to be foolish, but understand what the Will of God is (Eph. 5:17). It appears that people who claim to be His disciples today are least informed about this aspect of spiritual and godly living (Col. 1:9). God’s word says that all Scripture is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction and training in how to practice righteousness, so that the man of God may know how to do good to please God (1 John 2:29; Matt. 5:16; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). How many people have studied the life of Christ for many years, but have never started to live like Him? We are to imitate Jesus Christ and the Father by daily practicing the sayings of Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1; 3 John 11). Jesus’ words will judge all humanity at the end of the age (John 12:47-48). Just being a Bible scholar does not justify a person, but being a doer of the word does (2 Tim. 3:7; Rom. 2:13; James 1:22; Luke 6:46). Jesus Christ made Himself perfectly clear about practicing righteousness. We are to perform the Father’s Will in our daily lives, as it is done in heaven (1 John 2:17; John 7:17; Matt. 6:10). Jesus says to do as He says, keep His word, walk in His commandments and act upon His sayings (Luke 8:21; 11:28; 6:47-48; 2 John 6; Matt. 7:24). The central teaching of the Bible is to engage in a life of good deeds, endure and not become weary in well-doing, and overcome our evil natures by doing good deeds (Titus 3:8; 2 Thess. 3:13; Heb. 10:36; Gal. 6:9; Rom. 2:7; 12:21; 6:18-19). If this is the kind of peculiar people Christ is making for Himself—and He is—we should then be studying the Bible to train ourselves in righteousness (Titus 2:14). As we keep the sayings of Jesus Christ and study to show ourselves approved to God, we will always be ready with the right answer, and ready to lead many to righteousness (Matt. 5:19; 1 Peter 3:15; Dan. 12:3). - How Do We Walk in the Spirit? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How Do We Walk in the Spirit? It is common for people to be confused by the expression, "Walk in the Spirit." Let us analyze what it means to walk in the Spirit. The Bible says that if we live to the flesh, we will die (Rom. 8:13). Living to the flesh is practicing the evil deeds of the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21; Matt. 15:19; Rev. 21:8). When we are baptized, we agree not to live in the flesh or live for self any longer, but to repent and start living for God by living to the Spirit. God is that Spirit, and He wants to be worshiped in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). If we perform only God’s Will in our daily walk with God, we will not carry out the desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). If we carry out the desires of the flesh, that is sin (1 Peter 4:1-2). But if we keep God’s Will, we overcome evil by doing good works (Rom. 12:21). If we are zealous for good works, we leave no room for our old selfish will to operate (1 Peter 3:13). Thus, we are putting to death the sinful deeds of the body by living to the Spirit, which is living for God (Rom. 8:13). God wants us to consider ourselves as dead to sin but alive to righteousness, by presenting our bodies as slaves to righteousness daily (Rom. 6:11; 1 John 3:7). We prove whose side we are on when we live as slaves to Jesus Christ (1 John 3:10). We continue doing this until we pass the hypocritical stage of the Pharisees and begin doing the Will of God gladly from the heart (Matt. 5:20; Eph. 6:6). God is glorified by good works (Matt. 5:16). We are admonished to be sure to engage in good works and to learn righteousness because this is how we walk in the Spirit (Titus 3:8, 14). Salvation is a free gift that cannot be earned, but it only goes to those who are repentant and live to serve others for the glory of God. Remember always, you were saved to serve. - What Was Paul's Message? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search What Was Paul's Message? The message the Apostle Paul gave would be the same message others gave about the saving of souls. His words would have started out the same as John the Baptist’s, Jesus Christ’s or the apostles’. "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand" (Matt. 3:2; 4:17; 10:7) - right now! He was saying, if Jesus Christ has given you ears to hear the message, and eyes to see the truth, you should repent this instant (Matt. 13:13)! You must "turn around" or live another way. That’s what repent means (Matt. 13:15). He was explaining that when you keep Jesus Christ’s commands, He will heal your eyes and open your ears (2 Cor. 3:16). He will show Himself to you (John 14:21). It is utterly amazing how many people are trying to understand the Bible without obeying it (2 Tim. 3:7)! How many times did Jesus Christ tell us to keep His words (Matt. 5:19; 7:24; Luke 8:21), do His words (Luke 10:28,37; 11:28), keep His sayings (John 12:47; 8:51; 13:15), keep His works (John 14:12; Matt. 7:21), keep His commandments (John 15:10; 1 Cor. 7:19), and walk in His commandments (1 John 2:17; 2 John 6)? Today, people lie, steal and commit adultery. They love their friends and hate their enemies. They attend church, holding to a form of religion but not possessing the power that results from living a godly life (2 Tim. 3:1-7). They are continually learning about something but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Tim. 3:7). This truth they are seeking is the truth about desiring to live godly in Jesus Christ (2 Tim. 3:12). It is the knowledge of how to repent, how to keep God’s Ways and how to do God’s Will daily on earth as it is done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). It is how to overcome and how to put to death the deeds of the flesh by living to the Spirit daily (Rom. 8:13; Gal. 5:16, 24). Paul overcame his fleshly nature by keeping the deeds of Christ (Rev. 2:26). His message of overcoming with Jesus Christ’s Spirit in us is seldom heard today. How many completed believers are there today who are zealous for good deeds or good works (Titus 2:14)? Jesus was glorifying the Father by good works (Matt. 5:16). He also said we will do greater works than He did because we will live longer than He lived (John 14:12). We are to leave this world a better place than when we came into it. We accomplish this by living like Jesus Christ and serving others in need. This was Paul’s message. - Purity - A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Purity - A Woman to Woman Article God frequently tests me to see how I will react to persecution. He allows Satan to orchestrate that persecution to see if I truly will love my enemies and those who persecute me. The most difficult persecution is when it comes from within your own home. Be ready! It will happen to test those God is calling and choosing. It is important to pray daily for God’s strength to handle any situation that may come up. Jesus lived to do good to everyone, even His enemies, and we should too (Matt. 5:44). Jesus Christ didn’t complain when they crucified Him. He said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34; 1 Peter 4:13). Every time my nature even begins to take offense, I say, “Father, forgive them; because they do not know what they are doing.” There isn’t time to be offended. Every precious minute must be happy and filled with thoughts of God’s Will and Ways, and God’s love for others. I must keep a pure heart and mind at all times. If I have done my best for God, I will say as Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God (Matt. 5:8). I will remember that to the pure, all things are pure (Titus 1:15). Let’s practice righteousness by practicing purity in our thoughts and actions. We must be strong with God’s strength and keep God’s Ways and God’s Will uppermost in our minds. If we keep clean hands and a pure heart, we will receive God’s blessings (Psalm 24:4-5). If we remain sensible and pure, the word of God will not be dishonored (Titus 2:5). Philippians 4:8 reminds us all inclusively, “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.” PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

- Will You Be Able To Stand? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Will You Be Able To Stand? Noah was the only person God found who was practicing righteousness in his day (Gen. 6:9; 7:1). Noah stood alone before God. He didn’t need a church, nor did he depend upon a body of people to provoke him weekly to do good for God. Noah was mature in his walk with God. His relationship was complete. We cannot be found righteous unless we live righteously every day. If we never do anything for God, by serving others in need as Jesus Christ our example did, we are not righteous, neither are we considered righteous by God. How is your personal relationship with God? By the time you’ve finished this article, you will see exactly what must be done to make it like Noah’s. Enoch, Abel, Job, Abraham, Elijah and the prophets of old were all righteous. They stood before God and stood alone as mighty men of God. Even when Job’s friends tried to discourage him, and his wife told him to curse God and die, Job’s one-to-one faith in God stood firm (Job 2:9-10). Many doers of the word who worshiped God in the past willingly gave their lives to God and laid down their lives as testimonies of their solid, unshakable, stand-alone faith. They trusted in the Rock of their salvation, Jesus Christ, and as a result, became solidly established in their faith—as rocks. The requirements of our faith in Jesus Christ are: A. Practice righteousness for God and keep Jesus Christ’s words and sayings (John 8:51). Continue to do God’s Will daily in our lives, remaining faithful by continually doing so. B. Study God’s word continually to find out what God’s Will is, and perform it daily in our lives (Eph. 5:17) C. Honor the Lord with your wealth, by setting aside from each paycheck a certain amount with which to do good for God (Prov. 3:9-10). This is God’s money and no longer ours. It is entrusted to us by God. We are His trusted servants who distribute that money to the poor, the needy, the stranger, or anyone who would borrow from us. You do not need to spend it all before the next paycheck, but safeguard what is put aside for God in your trust, and use it continually to do His Will. God Himself will continually teach you what to do with this amount you have set aside regularly to honor Him. God always teaches those who continually obey Him on a personal basis. He teaches us how to love one another, how to serve, how to give, how to share, and how to forgive one another continually. He wants to teach us about His Ways, but He can’t do this unless we continually, on a daily basis, imitate the Way He lives. D. Pray constantly for guidance, and for others (2 Tim. 1:3). Prayer is the tool we use to commit all our ways to God. It is how we break down all the strongholds of sin in our lives and put them into the captivity of Jesus Christ, making all our ways Christ’s Ways. It is how we telephone God and keep in touch daily. Prayer is how we make known to Him all our needs and desires. It is our hot line, a direct connection to the God whom we serve daily. Always remember, we have great favor with God because we serve others daily on His behalf, which makes us His true servants. We are continually serving others, and, as a result, we are continually growing more and more like Christ each day. We know the secret that God causes the growth when we serve others as Jesus Christ gave us example to do in His name (Col. 3:17). We know the secret, that unless we imitate Jesus Christ daily, we will never be like Him. We know that imitating Jesus Christ is how we repent, how we abide in Christ, how we clothe ourselves with Christ, how we become doers of the word of God, and how we overcome our evil natures and have Christ formed in us. If these things are in our lives and are continually increasing, we will never fail (2 Peter 1:3-10). God is making stand-alone disciples. He wants us to be stimulated to more love and good works daily, drawing near to Him through personal Bible study and as He continues to allow, through all the resources He has provided us on wholewheatonline.com, to stir up by way of reminder the simple truth God has called us to (Rom. 15:4-5; Heb. 3:13; 2 Peter 1:12-13). He wants us to seek Him with all our heart, and develop our one-to-one relationship with Him, maturing in our faith, so we are able to stand alone; going to Him for all our needs and learning to discern His voice (1 Chronicles 28:9; John 5:44; Acts 17:27; James 4:8; John 10:27). He wants us to be an example for those in our life that are not yet mature (Titus 2:7-8, 1 Tim. 4:12). Will you help Him and learn to stand-alone? Will you be His example of love? Will you show by your godly life and example how to live a repentant life before God daily (Heb. 5:12-14)? If you do, you will not only have found the purpose of life, but you will be living it and showing it in all your thoughts, words and deeds. You will be letting your light shine for God’s glory (Matt. 5:16). You will be an ambassador for Christ (2 Cor. 5:20). You will be like Noah, and will be ready for all that is to come (1 Cor. 16:13; 1 Pet. 5:8; Matt. 24:42). You will be the apple of God’s eye, His trusted servant, the one of whom He loudly proclaims, “This is my beloved son (or daughter) in whom I am well pleased” (2 Pet. 1:17). God is, and always will be, your friend because you cared enough for Him to have Jesus Christ formed in you (John 15:14). When you are fully trained, you will be like your Teacher, because you have been taught by Him (Luke 6:40). Now, you will be able to stand. - The Truth About Heaven and Hell | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The Truth About Heaven and Hell We have been taught from the time we were little children that the good people go to heaven and the wicked people go to hell. Those who go to heaven when they die are rejoined with loved ones. This teaching means we will never die. We have been told that hell is terrible, a place of eternal torment. There is fire there and people in hell burn forever and never die. The devil and his angels are there to torment those in hell day and night forever and ever. Hence, they never really die, but continue to live on and on and on. Some have claimed there is a spiritual prison in which all the dead are held under bondage until judgment. This, too, is a doctrine teaching that we will never die. It is a spiritual lie that cannot be proven true by the holy word of God. What does the God of the Bible say? Does the spirit live on after death? The word of God says, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die” (Ezek. 18:20). Yes, the soul can die. We are also instructed not to fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. Instead, we are told to fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (Matt. 10:28). So now we can see that souls can be killed by God. The Bible calls this the second death (Rev. 20:14; 21:8). People are subtly persuaded to believe they don’t really die. They are told they return to their angelic state when they die. Many who have fallen for this lie remain ignorant of God’s word. What does God’s true word say about what happens when you die? Your death is a sleep. All will be resurrected in the end. Did you hear? In the end! You do not go to heaven when you die. You sleep! Your spirit returns to God who gave it, but so does the sparrow’s spirit (Eccl. 12:7). God takes His Spirit away and you return to the dust. He sends forth His Spirit and you come alive again (Psalm 104:29-30; Ezek. 37:4-14). You cannot praise God in the grave because you cannot speak. God, who is true, says, in the very day you die, your thoughts perish (Eccl. 9:5, 10). The death of people is the same as animals ( Eccl. 3:19-20). So a man lies down and dies and does not rise until the heavens be no more (Job 14:12). The dead do not rise until when? Until the heavens be no more. That’s at the end of the age, at the return of Jesus Christ. The dead people will not rise nor be aroused out of their sleep. Job said he was going to wait in the grave until God called him and gave him a new body at the time of the resurrection (Job 14:14-15). When a man’s spirit departs, the word of God says, he returns to the earth, and in that very day, his thoughts perish. Do you believe God’s word (Psalm 146:4; 112:10)? The dead do not praise the Lord, nor do any who go down to silence (Psalm 115:17). At one point in time the dead are symbolically given white robes and told to rest for a little while longer (Rev. 6:9-10). This indicates they are resting now. These words are not cleverly devised tales (2 Peter 1:16). Jesus says that an hour is coming when all who are in the graves—not in heaven—shall hear His voice, and those who did the good works shall come forth to a resurrection of life (John 5:28-29; Rom. 2:7). Even King David, a man after God’s own heart, did not ascend to heaven (Acts 2:34). He is still in the grave, just as Jesus Christ said (Acts 2:29). No man has ascended to heaven. Now, Jesus wouldn’t lie, would He (John 3:13)? Only those who persevere in doing good will receive immortality or eternal life (Rom. 2:7). The Truth About Hell When Jesus Christ returns, He will create a lake of fire, which will be located in Jerusalem (Is. 31:9). The location could very well be in the valley of Gehenna, which is now a public park. The word Gehenna means hell. The first customer of the lake of fire will be the beast who has masqueraded as the returned Christ and given himself all the titles of Christ. This is the one whom the whole world will worship before Jesus Christ returns to the earth (Rev. 13:8). The second customer will be a man who made a statue in the likeness of this false christ and required everyone in the world to fall down and worship that statue or be put to death (Rev. 13:11-17). This religious deception is caused by God. All those who refuse the message of God’s simple truth so as to be saved will believe the false christ (2 Thess. 2:10-12; Rev. 17:17). Then, anyone who is not found in the book of eternal life will be cast into that same fire started by Jesus Christ at His return (Rev. 20:12-15). All whose deeds were righteous before God will be spared (Matt. 18:35; 15:8). But all whose deeds remained wicked and unrepentant will be destroyed, including those who do not practice righteousness for God or love their brother (1 John 3:10). They will be burned at the end of the age in the lake of fire and as they are burned, they will weep and gnash their teeth (Matt. 13:40-42). They will be totally destroyed forever—destroyed never to return again (Rev. 21:8; 2 Peter 3:7). They will be set ablaze and turned to ashes (Mal. 4:1-3). Remember, the word death means cessation of life or end. Eternal punishment is the end of spiritual life—the second death (Matt. 25:46). Satan will also be thrown into the lake of fire at a later time. “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Rev. 20:10—Notice, in many translations of the Bible, the word “are” is substituted for the original word “were”—past tense). The expression day and night forever is an extravagant way of saying for good, or forever. When trying to understand hell, many people are confused about the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. This was a parable—a riddle, an example—not an actuality. The rich man was being slowly burned with fire and was very thirsty. Lazarus was immortal. Now, since the rich man was mortal, there was a bridge between them. Lazarus was spiritual and the rich man was flesh. That bridge could not be crossed over by Lazarus (Luke 16:24). This parable emphasizes the importance of living for God now, while we have the opportunity. There is no second chance. The Truth About Heaven People believe their loved ones have gone to heaven already. What about Moses and Elijah in Matthew 17:4? That was a vision (Matt. 17:9). What about Paul? He didn’t know how he ascended, so how could you (2 Cor. 12:2)? He said only God knew what happened. It could have been a vision. What about Enoch? God took His Spirit out of Enoch’s body. Then God put Enoch’s spirit to sleep until the resurrection (Heb. 11:5). Remember, Jesus Christ was the first born of many brethren (Rom. 8:29; 1 Cor. 15:23). It is appointed once for all men to die, then comes the judgment (Heb. 9:27). Enoch is waiting to be born again (Heb. 11:39-40). God hid Enoch’s body, just as He hid Moses’ body, so men couldn’t build a building over it and use it to their advantage to further their own religions. The devil wanted Moses’ body to further his religious deception on this earth, and he argued with Michael for it (Jude 9). But God hid it from sight on Mount Nebo about 80 miles west of Jerusalem. What about Elijah? Approximately 12 years after Elijah was taken up in a chariot, he sent a letter to King Jehoram of Israel (2 Chron. 21:12-15). Remember, there are no thoughts in the grave, so if he died he could not have written the letter (Psalm 6:5). Elijah was still alive, but living elsewhere on this earth. He went into retirement. When Jesus was crucified, He died. If he didn’t die, then He lied. And if He died according to the Scripture, which cannot be broken, he had no thoughts in the grave. He went to sleep for three days and three nights. Jesus did not preach to the dead spirits of mortal men in prison. He had no thoughts in the grave. First Peter 3:18-19 says nothing about Jesus Christ preaching to somebody while He was in the grave. He had plenty of time to do that after He was resurrected and had a spiritual body. Incidentally, the “spirits now in prison” were the fallen angels of Jude 6, not dead humans. People in the churches have been lied to and most refuse to study their Bibles and ask God to show them His truth. They are afraid they might have to give up some cherished belief. They would rather put their trust in some man, even though the word of God continually warns them not to do that (Psalm 146:3; Is. 2:22). The Bible is not a private interpretation, but men from all ages have been moved by the Holy Spirit to write the words of God (2 Peter 1:20-21). God places a special curse on anyone who tampers with His words (Rev. 22:19). True disciples of Jesus Christ are warned not to be uninformed about those who are asleep (1 Thess. 4:13-17; 5:10). God does not want us to grieve, thinking we have no hope. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the trumpet of God. And those who died in Jesus Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Have you heard something different? Behold, I tell you a mystery, we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye (1 Cor. 15:51). When? At the last trumpet. When does the Bible say the last trumpet is (Rev. 11:15)? The trumpet will sound and the dead in Christ will be raised imperishable and we will be changed (1 Cor. 15:52). Many who profess to be followers of Christ are far removed from God’s true form of spiritual worship (John 4:24; Rom. 12:1; James 1:27; Psalm 37:27). The spiritual leaders of this world are leading people astray (Is. 3:12). Preachers are preaching on their own authority. God says He did not send them (Jer. 23:1, 11, 13-22). People love their false ministers, but what will they do in the end (2 Tim. 4:3-4; Jer 5:31)? We are admonished to prove all things by God’s word and to believe in only those things that can withstand the sure test of those Scriptures (2 Tim. 2:15). By knowing these truths, at least you have a choice about whether to stay deceived or not. Read your Bible and come out of religious deception once and for all! Seek the truth and it will set you free from being religiously misled (John 8:32). The Lord is with you when you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him. But if you forsake Him, He will forsake you forever (1 Chron. 28:9). PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

wholewheatonline.com Search It's Later Than You Think For the coming of the Son of Man will be just as the days of Noah (Matt. 24:37-38). People were still going about their business as usual. No one expected anything to happen. In other words, it came upon the whole world as a snare, a trap. Will Jesus Christ’s return come upon us at the end of this age as a snare? Luke 21:34-35 says, yes, indeed it will. Not only will it come upon this present-day society as a trap, but God’s word also states He is going to do things in our day that we would not believe, even if someone described them to us (Acts 13:41). Yes, if someone would describe them to the people, they would mock and scoff at that person and as a result, they will perish. Many say, “I would not scoff.” Well, here is your chance to find out. What else was going on in the days of Noah shortly before the flood—when all of mankind came into judgment and perished, with the exception of Noah and his family? God’s word says angels assumed a physical form, came down to earth and mated with human women (Gen. 6:4). Were these good angels or evil angels? God’s word says in Jude 6 and 7 that these were evil angels who did not keep their proper abode, but interfered in man’s affairs, and as a result, are going to be destroyed in the lake of fire along with their ruler, Satan, the devil (Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10). Is this happening again today? Very shortly, the man of sin, as he is called, will be revealed to the inhabitants of this world. He is also called the son of destruction, the man of lawlessness (2 Thess. 2:3). This “world teacher” who possesses all the powers of Satan. God’s word mentions this individual in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12. God is restraining this individual now, until the time when he will be revealed (2 Thess. 2:6-8). He will rule this earth for three and one-half years after this time. This beast will then be seized along with the false prophet—his side kick. They will be the first two to be destroyed by the Lord in the lake of fire when He returns shortly (Rev. 19:20). Notice what Revelation 12:12 says: “Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.” When did Satan come down to earth? Revelation 12:7-9 says it was after a war was fought in heaven. What is happening in our skies now? The mystery of lawlessness mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 are those who cause an apostasy, a falling away from the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to the god of paganism. The god of paganism is the god of this world, Satan. In the Bible, he is called “the beast” because his body is not human and his spirit is that of Satan. We advise people not to watch this man when he appears on television and makes his declaration to the world, because he is coming with all the power and authority of Satan (Rev. 13:2, 6-8). The whole world will eventually be deceived into worshiping him and taking his mark (666) or his name upon their right hand or forehead (Rev. 13:3-4, 16-18). Now is the time to prepare! Now is the time to repent! Now is the time to make all your ways pleasing to God, in thought, word and deed. Now is the time to seek God by studying His word daily. Now is the time to imitate Him by practicing His Ways in your life and stay true to Him until the end (Eph. 5:1). Our Lord Jesus Christ declared, we must overcome the satanic pulls of our evil natures by keeping and doing the deeds of Jesus Christ and enduring to the end (Rev. 2:26; Rom. 2:7; Eph. 2:10; John 14:12). If the greatest in the kingdom will be the servant of the most, then what’s going to happen to those who will not serve others for the Lord now? Remember always, it is the sheep who inherit the kingdom because on a daily basis, they serve others who need help, as Jesus Christ gave them example to do. They do all manner of righteous deeds in their daily lives for the Lord, whether in word or deed, as they are commanded to do (Col. 3:17). In short, the Lord’s true disciples only live to do good, as Jesus said we should. They feed the hungry, give clothes to those in need, visit the sick, invite in those who need a place to stay and visit those who are in prison (Matt. 25:33-40). All their deeds are done for the Lord, not for their own glory (Matt. 5:16). They are continual doers of the Lord’s words, and they are the ones who will abide forever because they are daily doers of God’s Will (John 8:51; 1 John 2:17). They perform God’s Will daily on earth as it is being done in heaven (Matt. 7:21; 6:10). How ridiculous are the words of the false prophets who say there is nothing to do to be accepted by God. True repentance is a glorious new life that one lives, a life of righteous good works done to please the Lord. If you are not living it, then you’re not accepted by God (2 Thess. 1:5; Matt. 25:41). Even the thief on the cross could pray for others and for the forgiveness of his sins. If he would have been taken down from that cross, he would have been required to live as a follower of Jesus Christ. He had a good excuse why he couldn’t physically live the righteous life, but we who are free do not. Ask yourself: 1.What did I do for the Lord yesterday to please Him (John 8:29)? 2.What did I do today to please the Lord (Col. 3:17)? 3.What do I plan to do tomorrow that will please the Lord (Eccl. 10:2; Prov. 16:9)? The answers to these questions let you know who you are living for, the Lord or the god of this world, Satan. In the dictionary, the word “godless” implies a simple definition of one who leaves God out of his life. Now is the time to repent and live the righteous life so you will not perish along with those who worship the beast and receive his mark. It is most definitely later than you think! - How to Serve God | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Serve God If you live your personal life to please God in all aspects, you are worshiping the Lord and serving Him only (Matt. 4:10). If you are no longer living to please self but to serve others, you have become like Christ (Rom. 15:2-3). If you are putting other people’s interests and needs before your own, if you are more concerned about others than yourself, if you are the last to be served, you have Christ’s nature formed in you (Gal. 4:19). Living to please self is selfish. Living to please others is selfless or unselfish. Jesus came to show us how to overcome evil by doing good for the glory of the Father (Rom. 12:21; Col. 3:17). He came to show us how to be servants of others and how to practice selflessness instead of selfishness. He said the greatest among us will be those who serve the most (Matt. 23:11). This theme is prominent throughout the New Testament (Matt. 20:26-28; 25:40; Mark 9:35; 10:43-45; Luke 8:21; 1 Cor. 10:24). Loving God is serving God. Serving God is worshiping God. Praising God is thanking God, being specific about the things for which we are praising Him. Webster’s Dictionary defines praise to God as the act of glorifying God with song or other acts of service. We can sing praises to God by singing songs that tell what great things God does for us (Eph. 5:19). We can praise Him with our mouths by being ready always to give a good answer to others as to why we live the way we do for God (1 Peter 3:15). We can praise Him with our mouths by not gossiping or speaking evil of others, and by not swearing or using vulgar language (1 Peter 4:11). Yet few people know refraining from swearing is worshiping and praising God. We are to worship God by pleasing Him in all respects. That is how we praise His name. Confessing our faults to one another is worshiping God. We can worship or glorify God by the way we dress, or we can serve the devil by the way we dress. We can worship, glorify or praise God by the way we think or we can worship Satan by the way we think. Can we please God by being happy? We can please God just by having a good day for His glory (Matt. 5:16). Can we have a good day if it isn’t a day lived to please God? Of course not. It is God’s word that shows us the Way to have a good day. Are you really concerned about what God thinks in every area of your life? How many of your old ways are you holding on to? Are you coming short of entering the kingdom (Rom. 3:23)? Are you pressing on and continuing to force your way into the kingdom of God (Luke 16:16)? The Israelites were not able to enter because of disobedience (Heb. 3:19; 4:1-3, 6, 11). Are you seeking God by doing good to please Him? Serving God and seeking God, praising and worshiping God, pleasing God, living for God, walking like God, talking like God and imitating God—by imitating Jesus Christ’s Way of life (Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1)—is the answer to the eternal riddle of the mystery of God. It is how to be a doer of the word of God (James 1:22; Luke 8:21; 6:46). Closely observe how Abraham and his nephew, Lot lived (Gen. 17:1-2; 18:19; 19:1-3). Study the eternal message given by the prophets of old from God. All God ever wanted from His creation was for everyone to keep His Ways by practicing acts of righteousness one to another. He only wants people to serve Him by practicing acts of kindness, charity, mercy, compassion, honesty and justice (Micah 6:8; Deut. 10:12-13, 17-20). He wants us to live at peace with all men as much as is possible, and in so doing, serve Him (Heb. 12:14; 1 Peter 3:11-12). - Will You Heed the Call? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Will You Heed the Call? The call is going out and the sheep are hearing the call. The sheep are coming from all parts of the earth. The sheep are those who seek the Lord, or the truth, and they are finding the truth and the Lord (Matt. 7:7). The Lord is gathering His sheep from various walks of life and from various faiths and religions of man. The call is for holiness, for without holiness no one will see the Lord (Heb. 12:14 King James Version). The call is for repentance which consists of righteousness that comes from the heart—a changed life, a new heart and a new mind (2 Cor. 13:9, 11). The Lord is making more servants of others, as He Himself serves others continually. He wants to know who will care, who will change and who will endure. The Lord must sort out those who will be righteous and those who will remain wicked. The wicked must be marked for destruction and the righteous for eternal life (John 5:29). Never before has there been a determination like this made throughout the world. The Lord is preparing His soon-coming society where only righteousness will dwell, where only people who are righteous will dwell (Rev. 21:2, 4, 27). Jesus Christ was an overcomer. There are very few who know this fact (John 16:33; Rev. 3:21; 5:5). He commands us to overcome our evil natures just as He did! He said His Way, which He came to show, us is very easy and very pleasant (1 John 5:3). Simply do good! We are to purify our souls by being obedient to God’s truth and fervently love one another from our hearts. We are not to complain against one another (1 Peter 1:22; James 5:9). Jesus is calling His sheep to hear His true gospel—the one and only gospel that He taught to His disciples almost 2,000 years ago (Eph. 4:5). This is the gospel of the doctrine that conforms one to godliness. If a minister does not continually preach about this doctrine that conforms one to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing (1 Tim. 6:3-4). This is a message of personal, godly discipline. It is a message on how to imitate God and discipline ourselves for the purpose of godliness (Eph. 5:1; 1 Tim. 4:7; Titus 1:1). It is a message on being a servant to others in a righteous, kind, courteous, and charitable way through deeds done in love. It is a message of God’s good works done in the Spirit, replacing the evil works of the flesh. It is a life of joyful striving, persevering, forcing ourselves to do the right thing, and resisting Satan and the pulls of the flesh (James 4:7; Luke 16:16). It is a life of purpose, a life of triumph, a life of hope and a life of peace. It is a life of trials that God puts us through so He can build His character in us, and so we can have Jesus Christ’s nature formed in us (Gal. 4:19). It’s a life that we accept as a newly sworn-in soldier of the Lord. We no longer need to be concerned with the affairs of the world, but only with what our Commander in Chief, our Lord Jesus Christ, has to say. We live to please the Lord now and no longer live to please the flesh. We are now working full-time for the Lord, helping Him with the harvest of all those who have been chosen to have their day of salvation in this end time harvest of saints. When the Lord calls you, it is a holy calling—the greatest of all gifts from God. He is calling you so He can bless you. He is calling you so He can change you. He is calling you so you will be His friend. He is calling you so He can use you to call others in the future when you are ready (1 Tim. 4:14-16). “Blessed is the man who perseveres in doing good under trial, like Jesus did, for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life [eternal life], which the Lord has promised to those who love Him” (James 1:12). Jesus learned obedience from the Father. He learned obedience by continually doing the Father’s Will on earth as it is being done by God in heaven (Matt. 6:10). By suffering for doing good, He eventually became perfect (Heb. 5:8-9). We must be tested too. We too must suffer. We must also be salted by fire. That’s what being baptized with the Holy Spirit and fire is all about (Matt. 3:11). Anyone who will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. Everyone who lives for God by imitating Jesus Christ will be persecuted like Jesus was. That’s part of the salvation package (2 Tim. 3:12). If those who overcome will not be hurt in the second death, then we must all overcome to receive eternal life (Rev. 2:11). Today, there is very little emphasis on the subject of overcoming. This is because it does not fit into the framework of the social gospel that is being preached today. The watered down, incomplete gospel that is found in little “Bible tracts” is a man-made gospel, an incomplete gospel that could save no one (Mark 7:6-8). Jesus shouted to the people, “Repent, or you will perish” (Luke 13:3, 5). Change from your evil way of life, or you will perish. Keep God’s Ways and walk in them, or you will perish. Keep My sayings, or you will perish. Do God’s Will on earth like I did, or you will perish. The “Bible tracts” claim that all you need to do is say the sinner’s prayer and invite Jesus into your heart. Accept the atoning blood and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and you are saved. Find one example where Jesus or the apostles ever said to anyone that this was the gospel truth. Find one instance where Jesus instructed His disciples to say that. If Christ did not say it or teach it, isn’t it antichrist doctrine? He is calling you to save you and to spare you from what’s soon to come upon the world to test those who dwell on the earth (Rev. 3:10). He is calling you to give you a crown and to make you a world leader (2 Tim. 4:8; Rev. 5:10). He has chosen you to give you the opportunity to rule the nations of this earth with Him (Rev. 2:26-27). As it has been written, Jesus must reign. His job is to put all His enemies under His feet (1 Cor. 15:25). Then the nations will no longer train for war or go to war against one another. Jesus will enforce a lasting peace on earth (Micah 4:1-3; Is. 2:1-4). Will you heed the call? Will you fight the good fight? Will you be at the wedding supper of Christ (Rev. 19:8-9)? Those who have accepted the call will be praying for you. Study God’s word daily (2 Tim. 2:15 KJV). Practice God’s word daily in your life of true, continual prayer (1 Thess. 5:17). When you commit all your ways to the Lord, He will do the rest for you (Psalm 37:3-5). - Jesus Command: Love One Another | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Jesus Command: Love One Another Many think today that we automatically love one another, as a natural result of being a follower of Jesus Christ and having God’s Spirit within us. Do you agree with this? Let’s see what the word of God says. First let’s examine these Scriptures: John 15:12—Jesus Christ said, “This is My commandment, that you love one another.” John 15:14—“You are My friends, if you do what I command you.” John 15:17—“This I command you, that you love one another.” Hebrews 10:24—Let us stimulate and provoke one another to love. 1 John 3:10-11—Anyone who does not practice righteousness for God, or anyone who does not love his brother, remains a child of the devil. This is the message we have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 1 John 3:14—We know we have passed out of death into life, because we love each other (the brethren). Anyone who does not love those who are living for God, abides in death. 1 John 3:16-19—We know we love those, who are living for God, if we would lay down our lives for each other. Whoever sees his brother or sister in need and closes his heart against them, how does the love of God abide in him? Let us not love in word but in deed (good works). We will know by this that we are of the truth and we will assure our hearts before God. 1 John 3: 23—And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another just as Jesus commanded us. 1 John 4:7-8—Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God. Everyone who loves is born of God (born again) and knows God. The one who does not love his brothers and sisters who live for God, does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:11-13—Beloved, if God loved us, we also ought to love one another. If we love one another, God abides in us and His love is perfected in us. This is how we know we abide in Him and He in us. We know also He has given us His Spirit. 1 John 4:16-21—God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. This is how love is perfected in us. We will have confidence in the day of judgment, because as Jesus lived, we also live like Him in this world. There is no guilt or fear in love, but perfect love casts out all guilt or fear, because the one who fears or feels guilty is not perfected in love. We love, because He loved us first. If someone says, “I love God,” and does not love his brother, he hates his brother; he is a liar, for the one who does not love those who live to please God daily, whom he has seen and knows, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brothers and sisters who love God also. 1 John 5:2-3—By this we know that we love those whom God has called, when we love God and keep His commands. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and they are not hard to keep. 2 John 4-5—I was very glad to find some of your children walking in truth, just as we have received commandment to do from the Father. And now I ask you, lady, not as writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another. 3 John 11—The one who does good is from God. How do you love one another? Share with others, and thus learn how to share (Acts 2:45-46; Titus 3:14; 1 Tim. 6:18). Love each other with God’s love, that He will give you liberally. Show kindness to others (Prov. 14:22). Pray for others continually and from the heart (1 Thess. 5:17). Say only good of others, always giving the benefit of any doubt (Eph. 4:29, Luke 6:31). Be genuine and complimentary to others (Luke 6:45). If you know someone who is sick or going through an illness, send them a note of encouragement or a small gift to show them love (Prov. 19:6; Acts 9:36). Open the door for someone, buy someone a cup of coffee, let someone go ahead of you in line (Prov. 11:25; Phil. 2:4; 1 Cor. 10:24). Go to nursing homes and cheer up the lonely for God. This will make the widow’s heart leap for joy (Job 29:13). Show hospitality to the elderly, the blind or crippled, and fulfill Jesus’ commands (Luke 14:13). There is so much good we can do, it’s really exciting. “But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good” (2 Thess. 3:13). In closing, follow the same advice that the apostle Paul gave the people of God in Macedonia: For indeed you do practice love toward all your brothers, but I urge you brethren to excel still more and do not get weary in doing good for God’s glory (1 Thess. 4:10; 2 Thess. 3:13). Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven (Matt. 5:16). - Wine and Strong Drink | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Wine and Strong Drink What does the Bible say about wine and strong drink? The nation of Israel always used wine in its religious observances and Jesus kept the Jewish customs of His day (Lev. 23:13; Matt. 11:19). Wine was prescribed as a tonic for people to avoid sickness and for first aid purposes (1 Tim. 5:23; Luke 10:34). Jesus Christ’s first miracle was at the wedding feast when He made 180 gallons of wine from water (John 2:1-11). God allowed His nation of Israel to drink wine and strong drink if they chose to do so (Deut. 14:26) People will have their own vineyards during the thousand-year reign of Christ on this earth, as Noah did (Prov. 3:10; Amos 9:14; Rev. 20:6). Noah, by the way, was a completed man of God (Gen. 6:9). Noah and Lot got drunk on wine (Gen. 9:20-21; 19:33). But both were still considered righteous by God and in a saved condition because they did not practice drunkenness (Gen. 7:1; Ezek. 14:14). “Drink your wine with a cheerful heart,” God’s instruction book on living says in Ecclesiastes 9:7. Much attention is given to the Last Supper when Jesus Christ said He would no longer partake of the fruit of the vine until His return. The beverage used for the Lord’s Supper is often wrongly assumed to be grape juice. One need only look to see what Jesus Christ will be serving at the wedding supper of the Lamb to decide what the fruit of the vine is. It is refined, aged wine (Is. 25:6). A person shouldn’t be upset by this because God is not upset by the drinking of wine. But God is upset with man’s sin and with man saying that to drink wine is sin, when God says no such thing. God even prophesied in His word that false ministers would speak against the use of wine and liquor, and people would make them their ministers or spokesmen (Micah 2:11). How dare people speak against what God has allowed in His word. Saying it is wrong to drink alcoholic beverages is starting another commandment or precept of men; and when you do that, you begin to worship God in vain (Mark 7:7). The word of God stresses moderation in all things, but not abstinence in regard to wine and strong drink (1 Tim. 3:3, 8). God says, “Give strong drink to a man who is perishing and wine to him whose life is bitter” (Prov. 31:6; Psalm 104:15). The Bible also warns of over-imbibing, and of hanging around with heavy drinkers of wine or gluttonous eaters of meat (Prov. 23:20, 29-35). It tells you not to get intoxicated with wine (Prov. 20:1). If you were to think your own thoughts and live your own ungodly way of life, it would be wise not to drink at all. However, if you are living your life to please God every day by living His Way and practicing moderation in all things, wine or strong drink could be very beneficial. Wine and strong drink, like brandy, are healthy for the blood and can be an aid to those who are sick (1 Tim. 5:23). We do not want to fall into the trap of believing we are more righteous than Jesus Christ, as the Pharisees did when their self-righteous doctrine turned into leaven or sin (Matt. 15:8-9; 16:6, 12). Of course, you shouldn’t drink wine or do other things you are free to do in Christ, when it would offend someone. Yet, this is no reason to totally abstain either. Let all things be done in love, in balance and in moderation, which is pleasing to the Lord (1 Cor. 16:14; Eph. 5:10). If you have had trouble in the past and have become an alcoholic, or suffered in other ways from your misuse of this privilege, then maybe it would be wise not to drink alcoholic beverages any longer. You can live without it. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- Jesus’ Spirit | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Jesus’ Spirit Jesus said His Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, would not be sent to His disciples unless He first returned to the Father (John 16:7). He also said that when that Spirit did come, it was coming to convict the world concerning sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16:8). The whole sixteenth chapter of John concerns itself with Jesus telling His disciples He was about to return to His Father (John 16:5, 10, 17, 28). Finally, in John 16:33, He says, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” If Jesus had not come to tell us how to repent by keeping God’s Ways daily in our lives, people would still have an excuse for their sins. But because He did come, we no longer have any excuse for our sins (John 15:22). God’s Way of overcoming evil by doing good is just too easy. It’s too rewarding to have an excuse not to do it. If God is for us, no one can be against us. God, who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, will also give us all things through Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:31-32). Thanks be to God, who always leads us in His triumph in Christ (2 Cor. 2:14). The god of this world, Satan, has blinded the minds of the people who refuse to believe in Jesus, who is the light of the gospel and the exact image of His Father (2 Cor. 4:4). Jesus came to the earth in the flesh to show the surpassing greatness of His power, which comes from God and not from anything we do (2 Cor. 4:7). Jesus is standing at the door of our heart knocking. If we hear His voice, He promises to come into our heart and live His life in us and through us (Rev. 3:20; Gal. 2:20). We overcome our evil natures then, by allowing His spirit to put to death our evil deeds of the flesh. Jesus will then allow us to enter His kingdom and rule with Him when He returns shortly (Rom. 8:13; Rev. 3:21). Jesus’ spirit is the same Spirit that created the world. God gives that same spirit to those who will obey Him by serving others daily, like Jesus our example did (Acts 5:32; Matt. 23:11; 1 Cor. 11:1). It is with this Spirit, that we put to death the evil deeds of the flesh (Rom. 8:12-13). With that same Spirit, the blind received their sight, the lame walked, the deaf heard and the dead were raised (Luke 7:22). They also had power, with that same Spirit, over the entire kingdom of Satan (Luke 10:17, 19-20). This is why we have no excuse for not living God’s special Way and overcoming Satan and sin in our lives. “For greater is He who is you than he who is in the world,” says 1 John 4:4. God’s Spirit is truly greater than Satan’s spirit! PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

Learning How to Forgive & Forget We are reminded in Ephesians 4:32 to be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven us. Colossians 2:13-14 clearly tells us that we are dead when we are in our sins or transgressions, but when the Lord forgives us all our transgressions, the certificate of debt against us is canceled and taken away. Jesus Christ’s death assures us this when we live to please Him daily by practicing righteousness. 1 John 1:9 tells us again that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Now we see how forgiving our heavenly Father is. But does He forget? Let’s look at Hebrews 10:17. “And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Does God forgive and forget? Yes, indeed! So let’s imitate Him daily by forgiving and forgetting the wrongs and offenses that have been done to us, just as Jesus Christ Himself would do. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32 When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, 14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Colossians 2:13-14 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 And their sins and their lawless deeds, I will remember no more. - Doing Good in Secret | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Doing Good in Secret Doing good in secret is simply doing acts of kindness and charity for God, and keeping it between you and the Lord, not calling attention to yourself or making a big deal of what you do. In doing this, you wouldn’t go about telling people of the good works you did, but would do it so it can be a secret between you and the Lord, and you can therefore be rewarded as such. These acts of charity are done for God’s glory (Matt. 6:1-4). It’s so easy and truly the most rewarding, and fulfilling, when done in secret. This doesn’t mean you are lurking about in dark corners, in some sort of disguise so no one will see you, but is more of an overall attitude and intent, doing the best you can to remain anonymous, as often as you can. On occasion, depending on the act of charity, it may not be as easy as it sounds but just do your best, keeping the right attitude, and intent, and you will be blessed. There are so many easy and simple ways you can do this. You can show love to others in words and deeds by being kind to everyone you meet, as an example of godliness in the world (Prov. 12:14). You can be a friend to the lowly, cheer up those who need it and show compassion to those who are suffering (Rom.12:16, Zech. 7:9). You can show kindness to your co-workers, family and neighbors, or anyone really, by doing something nice for them anonymously and not revealing that you are doing it for the Lord in secret. You can randomly buy someone a cup of coffee, (maybe someone in line behind you that looks like they could use some cheering up) and tell the cashier not to mention it was you. Send flowers to someone going through a difficult time with an encouraging note attached that is not signed. Give money in secret to someone who is struggling and is really down and out. Drop off chicken soup at the door of someone who is sick with an anonymous little get well note. These are just a few examples, there are so many simple things you can do to show kindness and love, without calling attention to yourself or telling others of the good you are doing all day long for God, as deeds of repentance (Matt. 5:16; Acts 26:20). This is truly a beautiful and godly way to live, that will bring blessings in to your life (Ps. 112:1-10). If you did these acts of kindness for God on a daily basis, in secret, and continued to overcome your old nature by doing so, you would be building Christ’s righteous character in yourself (Rev. 2:26; Gal 4:19). Each night you would come before God the Father and confess that everything you said and did was done in the name of Jesus Christ for the glory of God, as you were commanded to in Colossians 3:17. Now, occasionally you might tell others about something you did in secret, in order to give them a godly example of how to do the same (Titus 2:7-8). If your motive for telling what you did was to teach them by your example, you would not lose your reward (1 Cor. 11:1). Even the occasional act of teaching by your example would be a righteous act, if it was not done for self-righteous reasons or to be noticed by men (Matt. 23:1-5). However, by keeping your righteousness between you and the Lord, and doing it in secret, you will reap tremendous rewards being you are doing it not to be seen by men or be glorified by them (where you would have your reward in full) but to please your Lord, building up rewards in heaven instead (Matt. 6:19-21). Remember, it’s all about the intent of your heart and the attitude behind it all. God judges us by our hearts (1 Chron. 28:9). Doing good in secret is a fantastic, fulfilling and simple way to please the Lord (1 John 3:22). Once you begin to serve the Lord in this way you will see how exciting it really is. If all you sow is righteousness, then all you’ll reap is blessings. This is how you enter the good life that God has waiting for you (Acts 3:26). - How to Overcome Anxiety | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Overcome Anxiety If you are a disciple of Jesus Christ and you are now living for God every day by imitating the Father and the Son on a daily basis, then you are keeping the commandments of Jesus Christ and you are performing the Will of God (Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1; 1 John 2:6, 17; Matt. 7:21; 12:50; 1 Peter 4:2; John 7:17). You are keeping Christ's works and acting on His words by being careful to engage in good works (John 14:12; 12:47; Luke 6:47; 8:21; 11:28; Titus 3:8). You are not to be foolish, but understand what the Will of God is and then do it from the heart (Eph. 5:17; 6:6). Christ commands us to cast our anxieties on Him (1 Peter 5:7). He says we are to practice thinking only what is beautiful and peaceful. We are to seek peace and pursue it earnestly and turn away from evil by doing good for Him daily (1 Peter 3:11; Rom. 12:21). This is the Will of God (Rom. 12:2). We are to clean up our speech, clean up our thoughts and clean up our actions by practicing righteousness daily to glorify God (1 Peter 4:11; Eph. 4:29; 5:10; Matt. 5:16; 1 John 2:29; 3:7). We are to pray to God for all our needs and wants, as well as for the needs and wants of others. Then, we are to have confidence that we will receive what we have asked of God in our prayers because we are living to please Him daily (John 15:16; 16:23-24; 1 John 3:22). Jesus Christ wants us to enter the good life that He has waiting for us (John 10:10). We enter this good life when we start doing good for others for the glory of God. This is how Christ is formed in us and we become new creations (Gal. 4:19; 6:15; Col. 1:28; 2 Cor. 13:9, 11). Our anxieties begin to disappear when we enter this good life and rest from all our works of the flesh (Heb. 4:10). Keep in mind that Jesus' Ways are easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30). That is why God is calling the unwise, the foolish, the sinners, the lowly and the simple-minded (1 Cor. 1:26-28). Satan would like you to think this is real hard because he wants you to continue to be held captive by him, doing his will instead of God's Will (2 Tim. 2:26; Matt. 6:10). Those who are living for God are to commit all their thoughts, words and deeds to God until their new heart is completed. So, next time you are anxious about something, give it to God so you won't have to have a bad day. Satan wants you to have a bad day so he can work on you instead of letting God work with you, as you live to please Him daily. - We Must All Fulfill Scripture | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search We Must All Fulfill Scripture All true disciples of Jesus Christ are called upon by God to fulfill the Scriptures that pertain to righteousness (Matt. 5:16; Col. 3:17). True disciples of Jesus Christ are performers of God’s word. They act on it, keep it and do it until, as happy slaves of Jesus Christ, they are doing God’s Will from the heart (Eph. 6:6). They know God’s Will is anything they do that is pleasing to Him (1 John 3:22). They know studying the Bible is pleasing to God because it allows God to speak to them through His handbook of life. Jesus Christ never says, "I command you to give a luncheon for the poor and the needy." But He does say, "When you give a luncheon, invite the poor and the needy and those who do not have the means to pay you back, and great will be your reward at the resurrection of the righteous" (Luke 14:13-14). True disciples feel duty-bound to serve their Lord by serving others. Like Jesus Christ, their example, they feel they must be doing their Father’s business daily, which is doing good (Acts 10:38; John 4:34; 10:37-38). They live to do only good. True disciples are often persecuted for the sake of righteousness but they still continue to practice righteousness, even when it means suffering for it (Matt. 5:10). Abuse them, use them, do them harm, and they will continue to practice righteousness. Why? They are learning obedience to God by the things they suffer (Heb. 5:8-9). They know they will only have to suffer a little in comparison to the joy coming in the future (1 Peter 5:10). They love and serve the unlovable. They do good to their enemies. They turn the other cheek. You might be able to wear them down, but you cannot keep them down. That is because they do not operate on their own strength, but with the strength God gives them (1 Peter 4:11). They suffer for righteousness, as Jesus Christ suffered for righteousness, in order that they may be glorified with Him (Rom. 8:17; 1 Peter 4:1). The truth is, everyone lives to fulfill Scripture. There are Scriptures for the wicked as well as for the righteous. Even those who turn away will be written down by the Lord (Jer. 17:13). Just as the wicked are rewarded with evil by God for the wrong they have done, how much more are the righteous rewarded with blessings for their good deeds (Prov. 11:31). If it is with difficulty that those who practice righteousness are saved, what will become of those who refuse to put their natures to death and overcome evil by doing good (Psalm 34:14; 37:1-2, 27; 1 Peter 3:10-11; 4:18; Rom. 12:21; Rev. 2:26)? Let us be sheep so we will not receive the reward of the goats and so we can experience the peace that surpasses all human comprehension (Matt. 25:33-46; Phil. 4:7). - How to Put Your Marriage Into the Will of God | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How to Put Your Marriage Into the Will of God How simple it is to live like Christ! No wonder He said His yoke is easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30). Many books have been written on marriage and marriage relationships, but how blessed is the man who turns to God, the author and creator of marriage. A godly wife is constantly doing things to please her husband because she knows this is pleasing to God. If her husband doesn’t notice some things she does for him, she doesn’t get upset because she knows God noticed and her rewards and blessings come from Him. If she demands that he notice what she does for him, then she is practicing self-righteousness to be noticed by her husband (Matt. 6:1). Instead, she does all that she does in word and deed in the name of Jesus Christ to glorify the Father in heaven, as Jesus instructs her to do (Col. 3:17; Matt. 5:16). She knows God has a book and He keeps accurate records on all the deeds she has done for His glory. She is bearing fruit for eternal life by disciplining herself according to godliness (1 Tim. 4:7). She knows that deeds done in Christ’s name result in great blessings, and that we will all be rewarded according to our deeds now, as well as when Jesus Christ returns (Rev. 22:12; Eph. 6:8; 1 Tim. 4:8). This is a double reward. She also knows that she overcomes her old nature by keeping Christ’s deeds (Rev. 2:26; Rom. 12:21). Problems in a marriage come from a lack of communication, which results in not being close to each other. When you were first married, you were close friends. This should never cease to be. Here are some tips on staying close: 1) Pray together in bed while holding one another’s hand. Pray for others, friends, family and loved ones who are in need. Your problems will seem small in comparison. 2) Never insist on your own way. Never demand. 3) Never threaten or give ultimatums. 4) Always forgive — always forget. Never let a bad moment turn into a bad day. 5) Always stay close to God in prayer. Therefore, when a couple that is living to please only God has a disagreement, they tell each other how they feel, and they both ask God to help them work it out. They leave all bad feelings with God (Eph. 4:26-27). Simple, isn’t it? What’s even better, it works! Try it! You’ll like it! You’ll be glad you did, and so will everyone else. - "There is nothing required for repentance." | Misconceptions VS. Truth
"There is nothing required for repentance." MISCONCEPTION The subject of overcoming. THE TRUTH IS: We must overcome to be saved (Rev. 2:7). We overcome by keeping and performing daily the deeds that Jesus came here to show us. We must endure, keeping them, and stay true to Jesus right up to the end of our lives in order to be saved (Rev. 2:26). If only those who overcome will not be hurt in the second death, then what will happen to those precious people who are searching for God in all the wrong places who have never even heard of the message of overcoming (Rev. 2:11)? If overcoming is required to be a disciple of Jesus Christ or your name is erased from the book of life, doesn’t it stand to reason that there is more to the watered-down salvation message than the world is being told by those who are spiritually blind (Rev. 3:5; Matt. 15:14)? Look at all the Scriptures on overcoming that are left out of this world’s message of salvation: Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21; 5:5; 21:7. Jesus was righteous. He came to show us how to live righteously and be righteous like He was. To be righteous, you must do acts of righteousness toward others for God (Matt. 25:40), using your body as an instrument of righteousness for God as Jesus did and gave us example to do (Rom. 6:13). We are to live like Dorcas did, who was abounding with deeds of kindness toward others, which she continually did (Acts 9:36). We purify ourselves and allow the Lord to change us by always being zealous for doing good (Titus 2:7, 14; 1 Peter 3:13). This is how we overcome the evil one in our lives—by continually doing good for others (Psalm 34:14; 37:27; 1 Peter 3:11; Rom. 12:21; Rev. 2:26). The fear of the Lord is to seek God and show Him respect by doing good daily (Rom. 3:10-12). This is how to show God reverence daily (Psalm 34:9-14). Now, if it is with great difficulty that the righteous people we have just mentioned are saved (1 Peter 4:18), you know the world has not heard the true message of the gospel; but now you have. Now you know how to overcome. You have been told how it’s done daily. God’s word says we are to put to death the evil deeds of the body with His Spirit daily if we are to live forever (Rom. 8:13-14). If we walk by the Spirit, we will not carry out the evil desires of the body, says Galatians 5:16. Walking by the Spirit means keeping God’s Ways. Walk with God like Enoch walked. Keep Jesus Christ’s words, and if you keep them, that means you do them or perform them in your life daily (Luke 6:46; John 8:31). How many people do you know or have you met who have crushed the flesh with its evil passions and desires and fulfilled Galatians 5:24? Now you know how to fulfill this Scripture in your life, and have no more excuse for your sins (John 15:22; Heb. 10:26-27). - What is the Lord's Work? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search What is the Lord's Work? The expression "the Lord’s work" is often used in religious circles. For example, people say, "We must get behind the Lord’s work." Jesus said, "My food [or My purpose] is to do the Will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work" (John 4:34). By this we can see that doing the Will of God is the Lord’s work. In John 6:28-29, the people wanted to know how to work the works of God. Jesus said, "This is the work of God, that you believe [obey] Me." Believe means obey in John 3:36 (NASB). You must keep Jesus’ words to be His disciples (John 8:31, 51). Anyone who teaches differently is a false teacher (1 Tim. 6:3-4). Jesus said that He did not seek His own will (interest) but the Father’s Will only (John 5:30). Jesus said that if we did not observe Him doing the Father’s work or Will, we should not believe Him (John 10:37). "Check My fruits," He said (Matt. 7:15-16, 20). If He did His works to please the Father daily, healing the sick, feeding the hungry and constantly helping those in need, we should believe Him just because we see the works (Matt. 8:15; 11:5; 15:30-38). His fruits or works prove the Father’s Spirit was in Him (John 10:38). We must keep Christ’s sayings by keeping Christ’s works (John 12:47; Matt. 3:10). Jesus said we would do greater works than He did (John 14:12). Keeping Christ’s works is how we overcome the flesh and live to the Spirit (Rom. 8:13; Rev. 2:26). When we are servants of others, we are doing the Lord’s work (Matt. 23:11). We glorify God daily by doing our good works in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ (Matt. 5:16; Col. 3:17). These works perfect the faith of Jesus Christ in our bodies (James 2:22). Jesus lives in us when we live our lives to please Him. "By their fruits [works] you will know them" (Matt. 7:16, 20-21; Col. 1:10). It is as simple as that. The whole truth concerning the Lord’s work is simply not known by many today. The Lord’s work is the good works we do for God. Yes, it is also supporting this work and helping disseminate God’s truth to others. The true message of the kingdom will be preached and published to all nations, and then the end will come (Luke 8:3; Matt. 24:14). - Are Works Important? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Are Works Important? Did Jesus Christ glorify God by performing good works (Matt. 5:16; John 8:29, 39; 10:37-38)? Are we supposed to serve Jesus Christ by following His example of doing good works (John 12:26)? Will some of us do greater works than He did (John 14:12)? We bear good fruit by doing good works (Col. 1:10). If good works are the same as good fruit, then isn't it by doing good works that we prove ourselves to be Jesus Christ's disciples (John 15:8)? Were we not chosen and appointed by Christ to go out and bear good fruit, which is doing good works (John 15:16)? The false Christians - which the Bible calls dogs, goats, hearers, wicked, tares and bad fruit - are those who profess to know God but are worthless for any good works (Titus 1:16). If Jesus Christ is the axe described in Matthew 3:10, and if we are the trees and the fruits are good works, what is this verse saying? Are good works necessary for a resurrection of life (John 5:29)? What kind of works is Jesus Christ talking about (Matt. 25:33-46; Luke 14:13; 1 Peter 4:11, 2)? Didn't Jesus Christ die that we might live to righteousness (1 Peter 2:24)? Isn't living to righteousness doing good (1 Peter 3:11, 13)? Didn't Paul warn disciples of Jesus Christ to learn to do good (Titus 3:8, 14)? Isn't Christ making for Himself a people who are zealous for good works (Titus 2:14)? Isn't doing good works how you overcome (Rom. 12:21; Rev. 2:26)? Aren't we warned not to get weary of doing good works (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13)? Were we not created in Christ Jesus for good works (Eph. 2:10)? Don't good works include helping the needy (James 2:15-16; 1 John 3:17-19; Luke 3:11)? Aren't we, then, to bring forth good fruit if we say that we have repented (Luke 3:8; Acts 26:20)? Isn't this the Way (Acts 24:22)? Isn't this the message of how to be righteous? Isn't this the message many people refuse to believe when they hear it (Matt. 21:32)? Isn't this how you know you are born again and considered righteous by God, no longer a child of Satan (1 John 2:29; 3:7, 10)? Isn't doing good works how you serve God and glorify His name (Mal. 3:18; Matt. 5:16)? Isn't this how you do God's Will and enter God's rest (Matt. 7:21; Heb. 4:10)? Isn't this the Way of righteousness Jesus lived, which we are to imitate (1 Cor. 11:1)? After reading all these Scriptures, do you believe good works are important in God's complete message of salvation (Acts 5:20)? - What is God's Plan? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search What is God's Plan? The plan of God is too marvelous for words. He created man. He is making righteous men perfect (Heb. 12:23). God, since Adam, has been choosing only a few people from each generation to become world leaders and help Him rule the nations of this earth with a rod of iron when He returns (1 Cor. 1:26, 28; John 15:16; Rev. 2:26-27; 17:15; 11:15; 5:10). In the future, God will no longer hide the true message of the gospel in parable (riddle), for He will no longer speak in a figurative language. He will speak in plain language when the mystery of God is finished, just as Jesus Christ preached to his servants, the prophets (John 16:25; Rev. 10:7). In Jesus’ day, it was granted for the mysteries of the kingdom to be understood by the apostles (Mark 4:11-13; Matt. 13:11, 16). Everyone else heard a parable (Matt. 13:35). Jesus was explaining the secrets of the kingdom to His disciples in private (Mark 4:34; John 10:6). Even the book of Revelation reveals specific numbers of people who will be saved (Rev. 7:4). Just before Jesus Christ returns, the majority of the religiously deceived of the world—the tares that Satan made—will rejoice over the fact that God’s two witnesses have been put to death (Rev. 11:7, 10; Phil. 3:2). The tares are people who profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him (Titus 1:16; John 16:2). True disciples of Jesus Christ will be hated by the false Christians because the true disciples will expose those who are false by their righteous deeds (John 15:19). True disciples know that works are necessary in order to have Christ formed in them. They know their evil nature is put to death by living a life of good works, and that overcoming a life of bad works is true repentance (Acts 26:20 NIV). When Jesus returns, He must reign until He has put all of His enemies under His feet (1 Cor. 15:25). He will have a little over 1,000 years when He returns to accomplish this (Rev. 20:6). During this time, He will teach all nations about His Ways, which are simple (Micah 4:2; Is. 1:16-17; 2:3). Job knew God’s Ways and he constantly practiced them (Job 29:12-16). As a result, Job was turning away from evil by doing good (Job 1:1, 8; 2:3). He was considered blameless by God because of his daily actions (Job 14:16-17). Righteous Daniel advised the king to overcome evil by doing good, and that is Christ’s advice to us (Dan. 4:27; Matt. 5:20; 7:21; 1 Peter 3:11, 13; Rom. 12:21; Titus 3:8, 14). The Condition of Your Heart The condition of our heart really matters to our Lord. We can try to put on a false front to those around us, but we cannot fool God. He knows what we think and how we feel. When He chooses us, He has a very special plan for us. Part of His plan is to work with and change our heart. He says in Colossians 3:12-13, “Those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.” And, Colossians 3:14 says: “And beyond all these things, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.” Another matter of the heart is peace. Colossians 3:15 talks about peace ruling in our heart. Peace rules when we think peaceful thoughts. However, one may constantly think of how evil the world is becoming. This is true; this is a fact. But we need to think on how we can make the world a better place by showing love—saying good words and doing good works (actions) toward others for God. We can be assured that our Lord is fulfilling His prophecies, and we can think of all the positive things happening to make this all come about. So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. 14 Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. - Have You Been Deceived? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Have You Been Deceived? Jesus warns all His followers in the last days to be careful and not be religiously misled (Matt. 24:5, 24; Luke 21:8). How will you know, and how can you be sure when you are being deceived? What does God’s word say? Titus 2:14 says that those who follow Jesus Christ are purified and are zealous for good deeds. Titus 2:7 says in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds. The apostle Paul told his ministers to constantly tell those who have believed in God to be careful to engage in good works for God’s glory (Titus 3:8). Halley’s Bible Handbook says in regard to the book of Titus; “The grand emphasis of this Epistle (book) is “Good Works.” Not that we are saved by good works, but by His mercy (3:5), and justified by His Grace (3:7). But because of this we are under strict obligation to be “zealous for good works” (2:14); and “an example of good works” (2:7); “ready unto every good work” (3:1); “be careful to maintain good works” (3:8) maintain good works for necessary uses” (3:14). It goes on to say that one of the indictments of false teachers was that they were “unto every good work reprobates” which means they express their disapproval of good works and are not of God’s elect, if you look up the word reprobate. It then references Titus 1:16; “They profess to know God but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.” Could anything be more clear? If Satan can confuse the issue of good works, a confused Christian will have none and, as a result, he will continue living an unrepentant life. He will not be imitating the way God lives (Eph. 5:1). He will not be keeping God’s Will on earth, which is good works, as it is being kept in heaven (Matt. 6:10). Millions of self-proclaimed Christians are deceived and live disobedient, detestable lives before God because they remain worthless for good works for God’s glory (Titus 1:16). They are denying God! This is the broad way which the majority of Christians are treading down (Matt. 7:13). What, then, is the narrow Way that leads to eternal life which very few are finding (Matt. 7:14)? If you know that Jesus Christ lived righteously and did acts of righteousness continually like Dorcas (Acts 9:36), you know that every true believer who continually practices righteousness daily as Jesus did will be born of Him (1 John 2:29). Does this fact hit you like a hammer (Jer. 23:29)? You must daily imitate Christ to be like Christ, to clothe yourself with Christ and to have His nature formed in you (Gal. 4:19). Jesus Christ cannot be formed in you unless you do the things Jesus told you to do (Luke 6:46-48). Countless numbers of professing Christians have been told an incomplete gospel on the vital subject of works, and, as a result, they have none. If Jesus was zealous for good works for God’s glory—and He was—shouldn’t people imitate Him (1 Cor. 11:1)? The apostle Peter said, for as long as you practice these things you will never stumble (2 Peter 1:10). What was he talking about? Let’s read it and know that there is something to do for Jesus Christ if we are to be saved. Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours: Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities and they are increasing in measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you practice these things, you will never fail, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:1-11). The narrow Way, then, is perfecting holiness in the Lord by imitating Jesus daily and putting His words into daily practice (John 8:51). The broad way is to neglect these teachings. False ministers practice lawlessness (Matt. 7:22-23), while Jesus’ true ministers continually practice righteousness, preach and teach righteousness, and live the Way that Jesus lived. He lived this Way to give us an example to follow, so we should do likewise. It is very clear, the saved are the sheep (Matt. 25:33-40). They are the daily doers of God’s word (James 1:22). They serve others continually for the glory of God (Matt. 23:11; Mark 9:35). They are the ones who glorify God daily by living a life of good works as Jesus told us all to do. This is how they let their lights shine before others (Matt. 5:16). Satan hates good works done for God’s glory. He wants people to stay worthless for good works like him and his ministers who preach that message (Titus 1:16). He doesn’t want anyone to overcome evil (Satan) by continually doing good for God. Anyone who does overcome is imitating Jesus Christ and Satan loses another subject in his kingdom (Psalm 37:27; 2 Peter 1:10-11; Rom. 12:21). Now you can see the difference between the broad way and the narrow way, so turn the right way. Start living the right way and become zealous for serving and loving others as Jesus did for God. This is the righteous Way that Jesus came to show us. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

- "You have to go to church" | Misconceptions VS. Truth
"You have to go to church" MISCONCEPTION: You must go to church. Yet there are 30,000 different churches teaching differing doctrines. That’s religious confusion. That’s Babylon! THE TRUTH IS: Christ is the church and the body of believers who live like Jesus Christ gave them example to live are that church. They are overcoming their evil natures like Jesus gave them example to do. Shocking as it may seem, Jesus came to start a spiritual church. Everyone who belongs to that spiritual church must live a spiritual life for Jesus every day by overcoming like Jesus Christ their example told them to do (Rev. 3:21). Jesus Christ’s body is the church and that body is now spiritual so the gates of hell cannot prevail against it (Col. 1:24; Matt. 16:18). Jesus is the Rock on which the true church was founded. Peter’s name only meant pebble or small stone in Matthew 16:18 (see margin). Remember always, Jesus is the Rock. Peter is the pebble.
