- Pure and Undefiled Religion | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Pure and Undefiled Religion When we analyze James 1:27, we find out what God expects of us. "This is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father, to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unspotted by the world." Whatever this "pure religion" is, it has to do with helping widows and orphans who are in need. This goes along with 1 John 3:17-18 and James 2:15-17. It also goes along with what John the Baptist told the people to do for repentance (Luke 3:10-11). Even Christ was teaching the message of compassion toward those in need in Luke 10:33-36. He taught us to put the welfare of others first and to be servants of the most (1 Cor. 10:24; Matt. 23:11; 20:26-28; Mark 9:35; 10:43-45). Jesus said true disciples - the sheep - serve others in need, while false Christians do nothing (Matt. 25:33-46; Titus 1:16). These false Christians are considered goats or dogs, while true disciples worship in the Spirit of God, give the glory to Jesus Christ and put no confidence in the flesh (Phil. 3:2-3). True disciples glorify God by doing good works daily, allowing their lights to shine before men in such a way that they bring glory to the Father (Matt. 5:16). Continually doing good for God's glory is our spiritual service of worship (Rom. 12:1). We worship God by presenting our bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, using the members of our bodies as instruments of righteousness only (Rom. 6:13). In this way, we become happy slaves of righteousness (Rom. 6:18-19; Eph. 6:6). God is well-pleased with this kind of sacrifice (Heb. 13:16). Doing good is also how we put to death the evil deeds of the body and live to the Spirit, which is God (Rom. 8:13-14). When we walk in the Spirit by serving others for God, we will not carry out the desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). Instead, we will be overcoming evil by doing good for God in Christ's name (Rom. 12:21; 1 Peter 3:11; Col. 3:17). We will be keeping Christ's works and overcoming Satan by allowing the God of peace to crush him in our nature (Rom. 16:20; Rev. 2:26). This is pure and undefiled religion, and this is how we keep ourselves unspotted by the world. This simple, pure devotion to Christ is simply walking as Jesus walked; and it is so easy and pleasant (2 Cor. 11:3; 1 John 2:6; Matt. 11:30)! You have no excuse for your sins now that you know how to overcome them (John 15:22). When Jesus Christ returns to this earth shortly, will you be among those who are found overcoming evil by doing good in a dark world (Phil. 2:15; Luke 18:8)? Will you be prepared to meet the Lord (Luke 1:17)? PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International

Whole Wheat is a non-denominational ministry with the goal of helping people learn how to study their Bibles, and apply God’s word and God’s Way’s in their every day lives, using the example given by Jesus Christ. Whole Wheat International is not affiliated with any church or church doctrine. We believe, as we are told in God’s word, that Christ is the church and that the body of believers, who live like Jesus Christ gave them example to live, are that church. He is the Head of the church and His true followers (Col. 1:24; Eph. 5:23; John 15:8 AMPC). Jesus came to start a spiritual church. Everyone who belongs to that spiritual church must live a spiritual life for Jesus every day by overcoming, like Jesus Christ gave them example and told them to do (Rev. 3:21). We believe, as Scripture tells us, that worship of Jesus Christ is done in spirit and in truth, which does not require going to a building but living a righteous and holy way of life each day to honor God, using our bodies as a living and holy sacrifice in God’s service, which is our spiritual service of worship (John 4:24; Rom. 12:1-2 AMPC). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us, that you should study the Bible to show yourself approved by God and look up the Scriptures given, proving to yourself what is being said (2 Tim. 2:15; 3:16-17). Learn more . We believe, as we are told in the Bible, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who came in the flesh and died for the sins of mankind (Matt. 16:15-16; John 10:33). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us, that accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior means living a whole new way of life, not living to the flesh any longer, with its evil passions and desires, but rather, living to the Spirit, which is living by the Will of God, committing all our ways to be a blessing to the Lord (John 14:23,24; 3:36; 1 John 2:29). Learn more . We believe, as Scripture reveals, that by living this new Way of life and making a commitment through baptism, following Christ’s example, we are obeying Christ and will then have our sins covered by His blood (1 Peter 1:2; 1 John 1:6-7; Acts 26:20 AMPC; Luke 3:8, 10-11 AMPC; Acts 2:38 AMPC). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us, we are to imitate Christ, as He imitated the Father. We are to talk as He talked, walk as He walked, being a servant to others, following His example and bringing glory to His name (1 Pet 4:11; Matt. 20:28). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us, those who are His servants obey His precepts, follow His Way of life (Way of righteousness), and live by His Will, overcoming evil by doing good daily. We believe, as told in God’s word that this is demonstrating, by our deeds, our repentance daily and allows us to become new creatures in Christ, putting on Christ’s nature and leaving our old human nature behind (Eph. 5:1; John 14:6; 11:26; 3:36; 1 Pet. 4:2 AMP; Rom. 12:21; Acts 26:20 NIV 1984; 2 Cor. 5:17 AMPC; Gal. 6:15 AMPC; 1 John 3:10 AMPC). Learn more. We believe, as we are told in the Bible, that God in heaven sent His Son Jesus Christ, to show us how to love one another, overcome the world and be servants of the most (John 3:16; 15:17; Rom. 13:10; John 16:33; Matt 23:11; Mark 10:43). Learn more. We believe, as we are told in the Bible, that showing love to one another and to God is living charitably, like Jesus Christ gave us example to live, in thought, word and deed (1 Tim. 1:5; 1 John 4:7-8; Eph. 5:10). Learn more. We believe, as Scriptures tells us, that living charitably is putting others first and not keeping track of wrongs committed against us by others. We are commanded by God to love our enemies and do good to them as Christ, our example, was even kind to ungrateful and evil men (1 Cor. 13:5; Luke 6:27-28, 35). Learn more. We believe, as we are told in God’s word, that in doing all we do, in thought word and deed for the glory of God, practicing godliness each day, we are in the process of perfecting and maturing in all of our ways, disciplining ourselves for the purpose of godliness and becoming spiritually fit (Col. 3:17; Matt. 23:11; Luke 11:41; Matt. 5:43-48; 1 Tim. 4:7 AMP). Learn more. We believe, as Christ told us, that when we do everything that is pleasing in God’s sight, we are keeping His commandments and doing His Will. Then we know we will receive what we ask of Him (John 9:31; Luke 8:21; 1 Pet. 2:15; Rom. 12:2; 1 John 3:22). Learn more. We believe, as we are told in the Bible, that living our lives to be pleasing to the Lord daily is easy, pleasant, greatly rewarding and life-changing (Matt. 11:30; Prov. 13:21; 15:29; Job 5:20-27; Ps. 37:4). Learn more. We believe, as the Scripture reads, that we were created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, planning and preparing a path for us, that we should walk in (Eph. 2:10 AMPC). Learn more. We believe, as told in Scripture, that you cannot earn salvation by good works, because it is by grace we are saved and is a gift, however, as a result of this gift we are to demonstrate our repentance daily towards God, which requires a life of good works; living lives consistent with and worthy of repentance, therefore, proving to be His disciples. This is how we show our gratitude to God and is our moral obligation, therefore fulfilling the purpose for which God created us - to do good works and good deeds, so people will recognize God in us and bring glory to His name (Eph. 2:8-10; Acts 26:20 AMPC; John 15:8; 1 John 2:6 AMP; Titus 2:11-14; 1 Peter 2:21; Matt 5:16 AMPC). Learn more. We believe, as the Bible tells us, that He sent His Son, as a physical example, to show us and prepare a path for us to follow, so we could overcome the world, as He did, by doing good and living a life of serving others (John 16:33; Psalm 37:27; Phil. 2:6-8; Mark 10:45; John 13:15). Learn more. We believe, as we read throughout the Bible, we are to be zealous for good deeds, an example of good deeds and ready for every good work, knowing God is glorified when we do good deeds for Him (Titus 2:14; 3:1, 14; Matt. 5:16). This life of well-doing is called the Way of righteousness in God’s word, and it defines how we are to live daily before the Lord (Matt. 21:32; 2 Peter 2:21). Learn more. We believe, as we are told in God’s word, that putting Jesus’ words into daily practice in our lives are the directions for repentance and eternal life (John 12:49-50; 8:51). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us, that how we love and serve God proves whether we are His disciples and sets His true disciples apart from those who claim to be (John 15:8; James 1:22; Tit. 1:16; Luke 6:46; Jer. 4:22; Ezek 33:31,32; Matt 7:21-23). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us, that as God reveals His word to us, we should obey it (Luke 6:47-48, James 4:17; Rom. 12:9-21, Deut. 27:10; Ex. 24:7). Learn more. We believe, and are commanded in God’s word, that no one should add to or subtract from Jesus’ words (Rev. 22:18,19; Deut. 4:2; Mark 7:7). We believe, as told in the Bible, that pure religion undefiled is serving those in need on a daily basis for God and keeping ourselves unstained by the world (James 1:27). Learn more. We believe, as Scripture tells us, that Christ will return to this earth and that we will stand before Him and be judged by our deeds (Rev. 20:12). Learn more. We believe, as we are told in Scripture, that we are to stir up by way of reminder, the truth that Jesus came to teach, so that those He is calling may be provoked and stimulated to more love and good deeds and are encouraged to persevere. That through this encouragement, and continual reminder to study and apply God’s word, living out His Ways in their lives, they may become converted and prepared to meet the Lord, having overcome the flesh and put on Christ’s nature, therefore becoming pure of heart and able to recognize Christ, their Lord, when He returns (2 Pet. 1:13; Heb. 10:24 AMPC; Matt. 18:3 AMP; 5:8 AMP). Learn more. This is what we believe. See the Purpose of Whole Wheat come to life in this video: Copy and paste the URL below to share with others and bring them directly to this video: https://wholewheatonline.com/about#purpose-of-whole-wheat-video The Purpose of Whole Wheat Whole Wheat exists to make ready a people prepared to meet the Lord (Luke 1:17). In order to prepare people, they must know and understand God’s word. They must know what God’s Will is so they can do God’s Will in their lives and not be foolish (Rom. 12:2; Eph. 5:17). This is so they can walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects and build godly character (good fruit) by making all their works or deeds good before the Lord. Whole Wheat is also helping people to increase in the true knowledge of God from studying His word (Col. 1:10). The Whole Wheat is for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness. How can you equip yourself for every good work without studying the Bible, when it is God’s word that explains what these good works are (2 Tim. 3:16-17)? Whole Wheat is constantly provoking others to more love and good works (Heb. 10:24). It is constantly telling those who believe in God to be careful to engage in good works and that good works are something they must learn to do (Titus 3:8, 14). We are admonishing others to be examples of good works like Jesus was and to know God’s pure doctrine, which gives you dignity (Titus 2:7). We realize there are many in the world’s churches who remain worthless for any good deeds. As a result, they continue to live detestable and disobedient lives before God and therefore, deny Him daily, because they are not living like Him daily. Yet, they profess with their mouths that they know God (Titus 1:16). Through Whole Wheat, we are helping others to become doers of His word so they are in a saved condition and do not remain deluded (James 1:22). We are telling others to help those in need, whether they be orphans, widows, or whomever they are, because this is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of God (James 1:27; 1 John 3:18-19). We know that only the people who do good for God daily are of God (3 John 11). So, we are busy making wheat out of tares—whole wheat—disciples of Jesus Christ who are complete. The tares are those that look similar to wheat, or God's people, but simply those who never become doers of God’s word (Matt. 13:24-30; Ezek. 33:32; Rom. 2:13). They are also referred to as goats in Matthew 25:33 and 41. We know that many have given their heart to the Lord and asked Him to be the Master of their life. They have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior. Many say that they have been born again and that their sins have been covered by the precious blood of Jesus. Some were baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, while others were baptized in the name of Jesus only. All of this means nothing if you don’t become a daily doer of God’s word by being a servant to others for the glory of God. Unless you are putting to death daily the evil deeds of the body and crucifying the flesh with its evil passions and desires, you have not received the true message of the gospel of Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:12-14; Gal. 5:24). There is more to being saved than just thinking you are saved (Luke 6:46). Have you worked out your salvation with fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12)? Have you counted the cost (Luke 14:28)? Have you put your hand to the plow (Luke 9:62)? Have you experienced being weary in doing good for others yet? It’s a wonderful feeling (2 Thess. 3:13; Gal. 6:9). Are you a mighty servant of others for God (Matt. 23:11)? Have you overcome the evil pulls of your nature by keeping Jesus’ deeds (Rev. 2:26)? Do you study God’s word on a regular basis? Have you received a love for the truth (God’s word) so as to be saved (2 Thess. 2:10)? Are you seeking or have you sought God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind yet (Matt. 22:37)? Are you relying on man to tell you the truth or are you being inspired by a man to go to God for salvation and to His word for the truth? You will only know that the truth is the truth when you practice the truth towards others by serving them (John 3:21; 7:17; Matt. 23:11). All of man’s problems come from living inward—for self (Deut. 12:8). Jesus came to show us how to live outward lives by learning to be servants of others (John 13:15, 34-35). God is waiting for many to become doers of His word so He can begin to bless them, change them and give them His new nature (Gal. 4:19). He wants to give us His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). Jesus came that you may have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). If this is not true in your life now, it can be if you prove that what you read on this Whole Wheat website is true and then put it into practice in your daily life (Ps. 106:3; Ezek. 18:27). Now you know the purpose of Whole Wheat. In His service, Ron Brown What Does it Mean to be a Whole Wheat? The Story of Whole Wheat's Founder Ron Brown knew he had been chosen for a special purpose from the time he was a young boy. He saw a vision in the sky he would never forget and would point him on a path of seeking the Lord. For over forty years he would devote his life to God’s Ways and seeking out the truth of God’s Word and sharing it with others. He studied the Bible with perseverance and dedication, like he had for nothing else in his lifetime, literally eight to twelve hours a day almost every day of the week. He was a devoted student of the Lord and teacher. He knew there was more to God’s Word and God’s Will than just accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior. In his many years of study, the Lord showed him many things, including: His purpose in life How to be set free from religious captivity How to have his sins forgiven and live the blessed life How to imitate Jesus Christ and live by every word of God How to grow in godly character How to have peace and contentment How to receive answered prayer How to have success in life How to be a friend of God How to prosper and have hope for his future How to receive eternal life He began writing hundreds of articles, exhausting the subjects of the Bible. He was incredibly passionate and driven to share what God had revealed to him, because it changed his life. God used him in many ways, as he traveled all over the country preaching at churches, conventions, Bible studies, on television and in various groups. He met with many ministers of varying denominations and they were always shocked, amazed and flabbergasted at the truth he shared with them. They could not deny his message was from God. Through all of his travels he met so many different people in all parts of the world. They wanted more information, and a newsletter became a way to reach them. This newsletter was designed to help people live for God with the ease and simplicity that God had shown him. While pondering what to call the newsletter, he recalled an incident that had left a great impression on him: One day, a special man praying over Ron, whom he’d never met, was given an awesome and prophetic vision. As the man went to lay his hands on Ron, he suddenly jumped back and said, “Are you a minister of God?” Ron replied, “Yes, I am.” The man had felt the power of God’s Spirit in Ron. The man approached Ron again and looked up as he lay his hands on Ron. He expressed what he saw in a vision….sheaves of whole wheat. He saw many loaves of whole wheat bread stored up. He said, “The bread is stored up waiting to be given to the people.” Ron reflected on that prophetic vision and realized it represented all of the carefully researched Bible studies he had written over the years, with God's inspiration, stored up ready to be given out. He knew then that the newsletter would be called “Whole Wheat” (Matt 3:12). He published the newsletter for many years writing God’s wonderful and life-changing truth. His wife Karren, wrote articles for a column devoted to women in the newsletter. It has been sent all over the world to reach thousands of people over the years. Suddenly, in 1997, Ron passed away. Our family was left to continue the work he began; helping others by publishing this website and continuing to publish the Whole Wheat newsletter, so others can continue to benefit from this life-changing information and in turn, they can share it with others too. Ron and Karren were zealous servants who were dedicated to sharing this beautiful and simple truth that has changed so many lives. God bless their memory and the legacy of love they left behind for us. Watch our founder's inspiring story A Letter From Our Founder's Wife An awesome thing happened to me many years ago. I met a man like David, a man after God’s own heart. I did not idolize this man, but was awestruck at the degree to which he sought God. He was a man who’s greatest goal in life was to know God and be God’s friend. God had given this man other talents he could pursue, but he laid aside these physical desires to do the Will of the Lord, to become God's friend. God gave Ron a special role in life, to minster and teach others how to imitate Jesus Christ. He searched the Word of God and wrote daily, for many hours, to accomplish this. I knew wherever Ron was, he was serving the Lord by serving others. I had complete trust that was always true. Doing the Will of the Lord was the greatest joy of Ron’s life. Teaching others to serve the Lord, was His second greatest joy in life. He searched the heart of the Lord daily, to help himself and others, serve the Lord more completely. He depended on God’s Spirit to inspire, and tell him, what to write and speak to help others. He spoke of almost nothing else, than that of God’s Will and Ways, and the revelations that God had given him to share. I loved Ron because he loved God so much. He imitated Jesus Christ, in all his ways. The thing that made Ron the happiest was when those he taught, to live to please God daily in all their ways (words, actions, and thoughts) were blessed. That was God’s stamp of approval that they were living the abundant life. He was simply pleased if God would grant him the privilege to teach other men, revealing this mystery to the world as a witness. He did this all with humility, that came from years of pain and suffering, testing and trials, which, were necessary so God could make him ready to teach those whom He would call in the last days. However, God did show me, at one time, that Ron would not always physically be in our midst, to teach and encourage us. Let’s learn today what God wants us to learn, through this special man God has put in our lives for our good and salvation. This is God’s special man, a man after God’s own heart, Ron Brown. His wife, Karren More of Ron & Karren's Story
- You Can't Do it Without God | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search You Can't Do it Without God Many people think they can face the future without God. It cannot be done (John 15:5). The Lord is coming soon and many plagues will precede His arrival (Matt. 24:21-22). This time will be called Jacob’s distress because it is coming upon all people, especially the descendants of the ancient Israelites (Jer. 30:7; Dan. 12:1). Now is the time to prepare for the Lord’s coming and the day of distress! How should we prepare? God says He will protect all who are wholly devoted to pleasing Him (Is. 3:10; 1 Kings 8:61; Eccl. 8:12). We please God when we live to keep His Ways and do His Will on this earth, just as He does in heaven (Matt. 6:10). We must learn righteousness by becoming concerned about the things that concern and please God. The fruits of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23 describe God’s personality. These fruits are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Because God’s Ways are not our ways, we must practice the fruits of the Spirit daily toward our friends and neighbors until God has a chance to form Jesus Christ’s nature in us (Is. 55:8-9; Gal. 4:19). Building godly character is easy and pleasant, but it does not happen overnight (Matt. 11:30). It is a process that requires daily discipline and practice (1 Tim. 4:7). We, like Jesus, need to keep busy doing the righteous works of God in our lives (Luke 2:49; John 4:34; 5:30, 36; 14:12; 21:25). We need to live as Jesus lived and keep His deeds by overcoming the evil pulls of our flesh (Rev. 2:26). As we continue to zealously practice this righteous Way of life, we will truly be prepared to meet the Lord at His imminent return (Titus 2:14; 1 Peter 2:9; Luke 1:17; 21:36). Without God, our righteousness is useless (Is. 64:6-7; Rom. 10:2-3). With God, we can have peace and look forward to the future (1 John 2:28; 1 Peter 4:18)! How to Have Your Prayers Answered One of the many blessings that comes from living the new life in Christ is answered prayer. Because we live only to please God every day by performing God’s Will in our lives, we assure our hearts before God and we can ask in prayer without doubting. We know He considers us righteous because we practice righteousness for God. And we know He hears the prayers of the righteous. Because we are seeking to please God in all our ways, we are abundantly blessed and our prayers are answered. Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4 We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears him. John 9:31 Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 1 John 3:7 The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. Proverbs 15:29 "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the Lord of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows." wholewheatonline.com Search Lukewarm “So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth” (Rev. 3:16). God despises those who are lukewarm in pleasing Him. Why? The lukewarm person is like a worthless employee who isn’t putting out much work. He is not totally useless, yet, he is not very productive either. He doesn’t merit firing from the job, nor would you rehire him for the job if he quit. He aggravates you like a festering sore that just won’t heal. What would you do if you were God and someone you were trying to convert, and form Christ’s nature in, wasn’t putting much effort into overcoming his old self by doing good (Gal. 4:19; Col. 3:6-9; Rom. 12:21)? What would you do with someone who was lukewarm? Well, when coffee becomes lukewarm, you put a fire under it to heat it up. That is just what God does to lukewarm people (1 Peter 1:6-7; Dan. 11:35). If you know what you are reading is true, don’t harden your heart by not living it (Heb. 3:15; Rev. 3:15-16, 18-19). God is determined to save us, even if we are not determined to overcome. The only way we can lose, then, is to entirely quit living for God; but if we endure to the end, we will be saved (Matt. 24:13; 10:22). Many are called to ℹ️overcome, but there will be few chosen because few will continue to overcome until they have been made complete (Matt. 22:14). The Lord says, “Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your ℹ️deeds completed in the sight of My God” (Rev. 3:2). The love of many will grow cold (Matt. 24:12). But God commands that, “In reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit” (Eph. 4:22). “Put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him” (Col. 3:8-10). You must not love your old life unto death by seeking to save your old life and continuing to live a sinful life. Instead, lose your old life, ℹ️by living Christ’s life, and you will save your eternal life (Matt. 10:39). It’s that simple. wholewheatonline.com Search God Wants Us to Be Good The words of a familiar song say, "He knows when you’ve been sleeping, he knows when you’re awake, he knows when you’ve been bad or good so be good for goodness sake." Yes, we constantly are telling our children to be good, but why? Good things happen to good people. The word of God says, "If the righteous are rewarded in the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!" (Prov. 11:31). Psalm 125:4 says, "Do good, oh Lord, to those who are good." Yes, God wants children to be good. He tells little children not to let anyone deceive them, that the one who practices righteousness is righteous, even as God is righteous (1 John 3:7). He also tells the little children not to love with the words of their mouths only, but with good deeds. By this, they will know they are of the truth and be sure in their hearts that they are God’s friends (1 John 3:18-19). God wants little children to live as Jesus Christ gave them example to live, so that when He returns, they will have confidence and not shrink away in shame. God’s word tells you how to abide in Him. It says, "If you know that Jesus Christ is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness [daily] is born of Him" (1 John 2:28-29). You must, however, do all that you do in word or deed in the name of Jesus Christ, as happy slaves of Jesus Christ (Col. 3:17). You must do Gods Will - which is righteousness - from the heart (Eph. 6:6). By this you know that you love the children of God, when you love God and practice or do His commandments; and they are not hard to keep (1 John 5:2-3). You keep them by continually doing things that are pleasing in God’s sight (1 John 3:22). If you are to walk with God, then you must walk in His commandments, just as you have heard from the beginning that you should walk in them (2 John 6). You walk in His commandments by practicing righteousness - by being careful to engage in good deeds (Titus 3:8). This is something you are going to have to learn to do (Titus 3:14). But realize this, whatever good you do, this you will receive back from the Lord (Eph. 6:8). When all you sow is righteousness, all you will reap is blessings, for God is not unjust, so as to forget your work, and the love which you have shown toward His name (Gal. 6:7; Heb. 6:10). - Charity Defined | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Charity Defined Now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. For charity shall cover a multitude of sins. —1 Corinthians 13:13 (King James Version). Jesus Christ was continually going about telling others about the true message of salvation. Many times, however, He would tell the message of the kingdom of God in parable form because He did not want people to know the message (Matt. 13:11, 14-17, 35; Mark 4:33-34). One such parable is found in Luke 11:41. Jesus told the Pharisees the true gospel in parable form. A parable is a riddle, a dark saying (Ezek. 17:2; Psalm 78:2) or a figurative language (John 16:25). Jesus said in Luke 11:41, “Give that which is within to charity, and then all things are clean for you.” Let’s say it in plain language instead of in a mystery form or a figurative language. “Make yourself a new heart, one that is charitable, and I will forgive all your sins. Continually do good to please Me and I will make you clean by forgiving your sins.” Remember, the Pharisees did their righteousness out in the open to be seen of men, so they would be thought of as righteous. Jesus said you must do your righteousness in secret from within, and glorify your Father in heaven by your good works. Charity covers a multitude of sins and makes you clean (1 Peter 4:8). Charity is serving the poor, the needy, the lame, the blind, the elderly, the widow and the orphan. Charity is helping those who need clothes, those who need money, those who need help, those who need love or compassion. All these things and more are covered by the word charity. What does Webster’s Dictionary have to say about charity? Webster’s New International Dictionary, 1909 says: Charity, n.;1. Christian love; of the New Testament; a. the divine love to man; b. Human love to God and one’s neighbor. Christian love of one’s fellow men; Christian benevolence; 2. More generally, love; benevolence; good will; affection; an act or feeling of affection or benevolence. 3. Liberality or lenience in judging of men and their actions; a disposition that inclines men to put the best construction on the words and actions of others. The highest exercise of charity is charity toward the uncharitable. 4. Good will to the poor and suffering; liberality to the poor, to benevolent institutions, or to worthy causes; generosity; charitableness; alms giving; hence; the public provision for the care or relief of the poor. 5. Acts or works of benevolence to the poor. 6. Whatever is bestowed gratuitously on the needy or the suffering for their relief; alms. After reading these definitions of the word charity, look up 1 Corinthians 13. In the many translations of the Bible, “love” has been corruptly substituted for the word “charity.” If you look up the Greek word translated “love” (Strong’s Concordance reference no. 26) in The Englishman’s Greek Concordance of the New Testament, you will discover it is often translated “charity” in the King James Version. A few examples are 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, Colossians 3:14, 2 Timothy 3:10 and Titus 2:2. It’s evident when you look at the dictionary definitions of charity that charity is all God ever expected from anyone who would profess His name. God would live a life full of charity if He were walking among us in the flesh today. This is how we are to live on earth and imitate Him as He lives in heaven (Eph. 5:1). This is how God’s Will is done on this earth as it is in heaven (Matt 6:10). Very simple, but simply not known, not preached, or not practiced by the majority of those who proclaim to be disciples of Jesus Christ (Luke 6:46). - Leaning on God's Wisdom Not Man's | WHOLE WHEAT
Leaning on God's Wisdom Not Man's "This is pure and undefiled religion, to visit the widows and the orphans in their distress, and to keep oneself unspotted by the world." The people of this world are concerned about the things of this world. They are concerned about food, clothing and shelter. They are concerned about bigger homes, stock markets and the price of gold. They are concerned about what they read in the newspaper and what the weather is going to be from day to day. Most people worry about this and that, while the person who loves God has no such concerns. He knows that the Father will take care of all his needs because he has sought the kingdom first by subjecting himself to the righteousness of God, as Jesus Christ did. He knows the world is going the wrong way, but feels wonderful because he knows he is going the right way – God’s Way. He has been saved from this perverse generation. He is in God’s care now. He knows that if he lives to serve only God, as Jesus did, he will end up where Jesus is - with a new body that cannot die. He does not live for self any longer, but he lives totally for God by serving others. Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. James 1:27 For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Matthew 6:25 And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. Matthew 13:22 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance. 1 Peter 1:14 Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. 2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge. 3 For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. Romans 10:1-3 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” Acts 2:40 Then Jesus said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’" Matthew 4:10 Let no one seek his own good, but that of his neighbor. 1 Corinthians 10:24 PREV NEXT Click below for full Bible Study: What is Worldly is Not Godly
- The Benefits of Repentance | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search The Benefits of Repentance God has promised many good things to those who repent and live to please Him every day in all they think, do, and say (2 Chron. 16:9). There are many ways we can please God in our daily lives. We please God when we hold no ill-will toward our fellow man (1 Cor. 13:5). God commands us never to pay back evil for evil but do good to those who mistreat us (Prov. 20:22; Luke 6:35; Matt. 5:44). Never argue with anyone since that, too, is a form of paying back evil for evil (Titus 2:9; 1 Tim. 6:4). Living a charitable life, serving others in need and just showing love to everyone at all times, is living a repentant life before God (1 Cor. 13:2; Matt. 25:33-40). God blesses us tremendously when we truly repent. If you repent, God will: • Forgive your sins (Acts 2:38). • Answer your prayers (1 John 3:22; James 1:6). • Heal your diseases (Matt. 4:23). • Make sure you have food and clothes (1 Tim. 6:8). • Protect you from harm and protect your possessions (Prov. 12:21). • Protect you in war (Job 5:20). • Feed you in times of famine (Prov. 10:3). • Give you eternal life (Gal. 6:8). • Reward you double for all you do for Him on earth in Jesus Christ’s name (Zech. 9:12). • Repay your enemies (Heb. 10:30). • Bless you in all that you put your hand to do (Gen. 17:6). • Be your friend (John 15:14). • Perfect you in all your ways (1 Peter 5:10). • Allow you to live longer (Prov. 10:27; 2 Kings 20:5-6). • Resurrect you when He returns and give you a glorified body (1 Cor. 15:52). • Bring you a suitable mate (Gen. 24:7, 12-19). • Bless your children (Prov. 14:26; Is. 44:3). • Give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4). • Give you abundance (Luke 6:38; Mal. 3:10). • Promote you in your career and give you power to get wealth (Eccl. 5:19). • Protect you when you stumble (1 Pet. 1:4-6). • Make your enemies be at peace with you (Prov. 16:7). • Make a way where there is no way (Mark 10:27). The list could go on and on. The more zealous we become in serving God, the more He blesses us. Yes, He will test our motives for doing good to make sure we are not doing good for selfish reasons (Matt. 6:1). Our repentance must come from our hearts and when it does, the blessings come pouring down from the Father above (Mal. 3:10; Luke 6:38)! God’s Ways of repentance are truly easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30).❑ PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International

- Study to Show Yourself Approved | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Study to Show Yourself Approved Part of the Will of God is to study the Bible (2 Tim. 2:15). Many who study the Bible, study for information rather than correction. Disciples of Jesus Christ are admonished not to be foolish, but understand what the Will of God is (Eph. 5:17). It appears that people who claim to be His disciples today are least informed about this aspect of spiritual and godly living (Col. 1:9). God’s word says that all Scripture is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction and training in how to practice righteousness, so that the man of God may know how to do good to please God (1 John 2:29; Matt. 5:16; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). How many people have studied the life of Christ for many years, but have never started to live like Him? We are to imitate Jesus Christ and the Father by daily practicing the sayings of Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1; 3 John 11). Jesus’ words will judge all humanity at the end of the age (John 12:47-48). Just being a Bible scholar does not justify a person, but being a doer of the word does (2 Tim. 3:7; Rom. 2:13; James 1:22; Luke 6:46). Jesus Christ made Himself perfectly clear about practicing righteousness. We are to perform the Father’s Will in our daily lives, as it is done in heaven (1 John 2:17; John 7:17; Matt. 6:10). Jesus says to do as He says, keep His word, walk in His commandments and act upon His sayings (Luke 8:21; 11:28; 6:47-48; 2 John 6; Matt. 7:24). The central teaching of the Bible is to engage in a life of good deeds, endure and not become weary in well-doing, and overcome our evil natures by doing good deeds (Titus 3:8; 2 Thess. 3:13; Heb. 10:36; Gal. 6:9; Rom. 2:7; 12:21; 6:18-19). If this is the kind of peculiar people Christ is making for Himself—and He is—we should then be studying the Bible to train ourselves in righteousness (Titus 2:14). As we keep the sayings of Jesus Christ and study to show ourselves approved to God, we will always be ready with the right answer, and ready to lead many to righteousness (Matt. 5:19; 1 Peter 3:15; Dan. 12:3). - Ever Learning But Never Able | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Ever Learning But Never Able Everywhere you go, you see people reading—on buses, in libraries, on park benches—everywhere. They may be reading newspapers, magazines, love stories, adventure stories or fiction books, yet something is tragically wrong. No one, it seems, is searching for God. No one, it seems, is searching for the truth. The very same thing was happening in the days of Noah, which was the cause of the flood. There are people reading and studying at all the learning institutions in the world, yet they are ever learning, ever reading, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Tim. 3:7). The whole purpose of life is to seek the truth and find out why you were born, and why on earth you walk on this earth. The very purpose of this life is to seek God. God’s word says, “If you seek Him, you will find Him.” For God will let you find Him, and He will reveal to you the truth of why you are here (1 Chron. 28:9; 22:19). Not interested? Neither were the people in the days of Noah interested. Are some of you interested? Good, because God has a wonderful surprise for those who are interested (1 Cor. 2:9). Man was not created to walk or live as he pleases, but to walk or live in all the Ways that the Lord said he should live. Jesus’ words represent those Ways (John 8:51). God has given animals instinct. They live and do as they have been programmed by God to live. So God has given animals instinct, but He has given man His manual—the Bible—on how man should live and rise above the animal state. Before God revealed to man His Ways, He had His Ways tried and tested time and time again (seven times). This was done to make sure they were perfect for man to follow (Psalm 12:6). Man has instinct—basic animal instinct—but he was designed to rise above that animal instinct and be like God (Eccl. 3:18). This is done by the process of keeping God’s Ways, continually doing good towards others and thus, learning to control those animal instincts and be like God (Eph. 5:1). This is what it means to truly be civilized. God even promised man that if he would live the Way he was created to live, then no good thing would the Lord withhold from him. God’s word is full of examples of all the blessings that will be showered upon those who choose to live uprightly or righteously in his lifetime (Psalm 84:11). Of course, with these blessings comes the gift of eternal life, if you continue and endure living God’s peaceful, productive, life-changing Way of life (Matt. 10:22; 24:13; 2 Tim. 2:12; Rev. 2:26). God’s word explains to man how to treat others in a civilized way. It teaches us how to treat our neighbors (all others) with love, as we would want them to treat us. God wants to know who will and who won’t live decently in this world (Mal. 3:18). He wants to know who cares and those who could care less about living by His Ways. He wants to know who would do good towards others, if they knew to do good, and who would not do good for others even though they knew that’s what they should do to please God (Matt. 25:33-46). The wicked in the Bible are called dogs, goats, chaff, bad fish and stumbling blocks. They must be sorted out from the righteous and destroyed by the Lord before He sets up His kingdom of righteousness on this earth. In the days of Noah, God simply spared righteous Noah and his family by having him build an ark, and then He destroyed the rest of mankind with water. This time He will let mankind destroy itself with wars, famine and disease. A time is coming very shortly that will be so bad, that if Jesus Christ did not return, there would be no humans left alive (Matt. 24:22). At that time, all those who have been found worthy (those who live to please God daily by learning to be servants to others by keeping God’s Ways) will be rescued (Dan. 12:1; Luke 21:36 King James Version). God says the knowledge of this world is foolish, evil and demonic (James 3:15; 1 Cor. 3:19; 2 Chron. 15:2; Is. 9:17; 44:25). It is certainly not knowledge from above. Most men have rejected God—they have rejected His word which is from above. God warns all to be saved from this perverse generation by living blameless and innocent lives before Him (Acts 2:40). He wants you to be a light or good example in the world before others by being honest, kind and loyal towards others. He wants you to be a part of the solution to the evil in the world and not continue to be a part of the problem. Now is the time to put away the books of men and start studying the book of God, so your Creator can teach you, bless you, change you and make you acceptable and worthy for eternal life (Luke 20:35 New American Standard Version). - Do We Automatically Do Good? | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Do We Automatically Do Good? Many well-meaning Christians are waiting for God to push a button, so to speak, to make them willing servants of others. They think that God will give them the desire to serve others, and that just having God's Spirit will automatically catapult them into a life of good deeds for Christ. Meanwhile, God keeps waiting and waiting and waiting for them to start their new life in Christ. Many of these same people feel that if you force yourself to do good works for God, you are engaging in self-righteous works and are trying to gain your salvation by doing good works. What's really going on? What does the Bible have to say? Let's find out. The Bible says you glorify the Father by doing good works (Matt. 5:16). You enter the kingdom of heaven with righteous works (Matt. 5:20). Jesus Christ told His true followers that they would do more works for God than He did (John 14:12). Being zealous for good works is part of putting on the full armor of God (1 Peter 3:13; Eph. 6:11). By keeping Christ's works, you overcome your nature and put on Jesus Christ's righteous nature (Rev. 2:26). In the Bible, believers are cautioned against becoming weary in doing good works (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13). The apostles told believers to engage in good works (Titus 3:8). They stressed that it was something they would have to learn to do (Titus 3:14). It would not come automatically. They would have to strive, be diligent and persevere in doing these good works (Luke 13:24; Heb. 4:11; 10:24; Rom.2:6-7). They were told to be hot, zealous, or enthusiastic for good works (Rev. 3:15; Titus 2:14). Even the rich were told to be rich in good works (1 Tim. 6:17-18). It was a requirement for widows (1 Tim. 5:10). It was what disciples of Jesus Christ continually did (Acts 9:36; 10:2). Paul forced his body into subjection so that he would become a willing slave to righteousness (1 Cor. 9:27; Rom. 6:18-19). He was a slave to Jesus Christ, doing God's righteous works from the heart (Eph. 6:6). He knew that doing righteous works would allow God to crush his old satanic nature under his heel (Rom. 16:20). He understood how to force his way into the kingdom (Luke 16:16; 17:21, KJV). And, by resting from all works of the flesh, he entered God's rest and found inner peace (Heb. 4:10). Satan is the enemy of all who would practice righteousness for God or who live as God lives. Satan preaches against any form of good works done for God's glory so that people will continue to be held captive by him, doing his will instead of doing God's Will as it is being done in heaven on a daily basis (2 Tim. 2:26; Matt. 6:10). Don't be religiously deceived. You will know Jesus Christ's followers by their works (Matt. 7:20-21). God's word says even Satan's ministers will be judged by their works, whether they like it or not (2 Cor. 11:15). How blessed are those who practice righteousness at all times (Psalm 106:3). - What is Sin? | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search What is Sin? Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil and He tempts no one. But each one is tempted when he dwells on sin and is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then, when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death (James 1:13-15). The above is the process by which sin is conceived in the human mind. If we never dwelled on sin, sin would never be conceived in our minds. Dwelling on wrong thoughts -or sin- results in wrong actions. Does that mean Jesus never had wrong thoughts go through His mind? No, of course it doesn't! But He never dwelled on them, so He never carried any of them out (Heb. 5:8-9; Is. 7:14-16). The tempter is Satan. Those who are tempted are humans (1 Thess. 3:5). We tempt ourselves and Satan also tempts us, just as he tempted our perfect example, Jesus Christ (Luke 4:1-2). Dwelling on what is wrong is sin because what you dwell on becomes the desire of your heart. Jesus Christ said that if you dwell on adultery, you have already committed it in your heart (Matt. 5:28). A premeditated murder is dwelt upon and planned. Our Creator instructs us to dwell only upon what is good, so we will always say and do things that are good and pleasing to the Lord (Phil. 4:8-9). Our Father wants us to overcome our evil natures by doing good every moment of every day (Rom. 12:21; 2 Cor. 10:5). Who can stop you from only thinking good thoughts, from only saying good things and from only doing good things? Your old nature will try to stop you. Satan will try to tempt you. But who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good (1 Peter. 3:13)? No one! So dwell not on evil and sin not. Dwell only on good and do only good for God! Then you will not carry out the desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International

Serving others continually to please God is the best! Why? Because we reap what we sow. When we are continually thinking, “What can I do for God next?” then we are busy doing God’s Will. We also know that what we think is what we’ll do. So, we might as well do good for God—being He repays good for good and evil for evil (Psalm 125:4; Prov. 24:29; Eph. 6:8). God is the One who makes these everlasting laws and He will make sure they are fulfilled (Jer. 17:10; 32:19). When we continually do good for God, and are making all our ways pleasing to Him, our life becomes blessed. Many people walk around uptight, thinking and speaking negative. They are full of anxiety, being inward and selfish. Nothing pleases these people, because they do not know God’s beautiful Way of righteousness that brings about peace (Rom 2:10; Rom 14:17). God has called us to His Ways of love to make a difference in this world. He has called us to be an example of godliness; yes, a light in a dark, evil world (Phil. 2:15). What a privilege. What an honor to be called to serve our Lord. Matthew 5:16 tells us to be a bright light by doing good to others continually. In closing, I ask, Is God calling you today? Are you interested in changing the way you think, speak and live? Would you like to be filled with contentment, peace, love and happiness? Would you like to make a difference in this world to glorify God by doing good for others in need? Try it—you’ll like it. - The Purpose of Life - to do good works for God | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search The Purpose of Life - to do good works for God The whole purpose of life is to seek the Lord and do good works for His glory (Eph. 2:10; Is. 55:6-7; Matt. 5:16). The Lord is righteous in all His Ways and kind in all His deeds (Psalm 145:17). He is found by those who live righteously (do good to please Him daily) and study His word to learn how He thinks (Acts 10:2, 38; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). The word of God states that without holiness no one will see the Lord (Heb. 12:14, King James Version). Now, to be holy one must be righteous, and to be righteous one must do good for God’s glory continually by practicing righteousness (Matt. 5:16; Col. 3:17; 1 John 3:7, 10; Job 29:12-15). God is going to test everyone who lives on the earth in the last days to see who will repent and serve Him by serving others (Rev. 3:10; Mal. 3:18). All the people on the earth must first have an opportunity to know the truth and know how to repent, change and live their lives to be pleasing to God (2 Peter 3:9). All must hear the message of repentance. Then they will have no excuse for their sins (John 15:22). This message of repentance is the central theme to the true message of the kingdom of heaven. This true message of the kingdom must be preached and published in the whole world for a witness first, and then the end will come (Matt. 24:14). There are two gospels being preached today. The “good-for-nothing” gospel that produces good-for-nothings because no permanent change for the good takes place in people’s lives who hear it. Then there is the “good-for-something” gospel that produces people who are zealous for good works, as Jesus Christ was and as He told us to be (Titus 2:14). The “good-for-nothing” gospel discourages or doesn’t talk about doing good works for God, and it also preaches a gospel of half-truths by which no one can be saved. Remember, good works are to be done for repentance for God’s glory; they are not done for salvation, because salvation cannot be earned by good works (Matt. 5:16). Salvation is a free gift that goes only to those who repent daily and live the repentant life that Jesus came to show us (Eph. 2:8-9). Will you be ready when Jesus Christ returns? Will you be found doing good works for God and fulfilling the purpose of your life? This is the purpose for which you were created (Eph. 2:10). And only those in their graves who had good deeds for God will come to a resurrection of life (John 5:28-29; Rev. 14:13; 20:12). - Be Perfect | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Be Perfect When the word of God says, "Be perfect," it means exactly what it says (Matt. 5:48; James 1:4; Heb. 12:23). But how can we be perfect? First of all, let’s realize that Jesus Christ was perfect, as His heavenly Father is perfect. He did the Father’s Will instead of His own (John 6:38). That is what made Him perfect. He kept the Father’s sayings and He lived exactly as He saw the Father live. Anyone who lives as God lives will suffer persecution, so Christ suffered persecution (2 Tim. 3:12). The Bible commands, "Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness" (1 Tim. 4:7). How do you do that? Keep God’s Ways and do God’s Will on earth as it is done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). Psalm 145:17 says, "The Lord is righteous in all His Ways, and kind in all His deeds." Then, it stands to reason that a disciple of Jesus Christ should strive to be righteous in all his ways and kind in all his deeds. If you know Jesus Christ was righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is truly born of Him (1 John 2:29). And this is the key! When you practice righteousness, you are righteous in God’s eyes (1 John 3:7). You have begun the godly process that allows God the Father to make you perfect (Heb. 12:23). By doing good deeds for God, you are practicing the truth that is according to godliness (Titus 3:8; 1:1; John 3:21). You have nothing to worry about now because you are a doer of the word as well as a servant of God (James 1:22; 1 Peter 3:13). Very few people know that the word "perfect" used in Matthew 5:48 and Philippians 3:15 means "spiritually mature." Spiritually mature disciples do not practice sin in their lives. Instead, they overcome sin and its temptations by continually doing good for God. No one who is truly born of God practices sin any longer in his life; and because he is born of God and God’s Spirit (seed) abides in him, he cannot sin (1 John 3:9). Those who belong to Jesus Christ have crucified the flesh with its evil practices and desires (Gal. 5:24). With the help of God’s Spirit, they put to death the things in their lives that are not pleasing to God (Rom. 8:13). Now, they walk in the Spirit and no longer carry out the evil passions they once had (Gal. 5:16). Jesus crushed Satan’s nature in them, with their help, and now they are new creations with His nature formed in them (Rom. 16:20; Gal. 4:19; 6:15). They are now perfect or complete (2 Cor. 13:9, 11). They are spiritually mature. They are truly born again and the evil one does not touch them (1 John 5:18). They have overcome the evil one (1 John 2:13-14). They are perfect because God has perfected them. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International

- Condemnation | WHOLE WHEAT
wholewheatonline.com Search Condemnation Satan wants you to feel condemned in your life. He wants you to feel unworthy. He wants you to be overcome with feelings of guilt and despair. He wants you to give up and say, "What’s the use. I can’t do it, it’s too hard. I can’t be the kind of person I want to be. I don’t have time to do it. I can’t be someone I’m not." When we say these things, we give in to our human nature and we are held captive by Satan to do his will (2 Tim. 2:26). Satan’s will is full of excuses so we can justify our bad behavior all day long. God wants us to overcome Satan’s sick will in our human nature (Eph. 2:3). He wants us to replace it with His Will (Matt. 6:10). He wants us to do the same Will Jesus did and overcome just as Jesus did (John 4:34; 6:38; 16:33). In fact, one of the reasons Jesus Christ came to this earth was to show us how to overcome our old fleshly wills by practicing only the Father’s Will in our daily lives (1 John 3:7, 10). We overcome Satan’s will, by performing Christ’s deeds in our lives on a daily basis (Rev. 2:26). God’s Will is righteousness. When we practice righteousness for God daily, we are keeping His Will (Matt. 7:21). We are to practice righteousness to please God by committing all our ways - our thoughts, words and deeds - to Him (Matt. 5:16; 2 Cor. 10:5 1 Peter 4:11; Col. 3:17). As we live to please the Spirit, we will crush and suffocate the deeds of the flesh, putting them to death in our bodies (Rom. 8:13; 16:20). We will be worshiping God with a pure heart the way He wishes to be worshiped, and we will understand why Christ died - so we could live righteously (John 4:24; Heb. 13:16; 1 Peter 2:24). Yes, Satan wants us to keep our ways condemnable so we will keep on feeling condemned (1 John 3:21). God wants us to make our ways commendable by happily performing righteousness to please Him every day (Heb. 13:21; James 1:22, 25, 27). Let’s continually serve others from a pure heart, so we can have confidence before God every day and be ready to meet Him when He returns (Rom. 15:2-3; 1 Cor. 10:24; 1 Tim. 1:5; 1 John 3:18-22).
