  • It Pays To Be Good For God | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search It Pays To Be Good For God God is good because God does good (Psalm 145:17). God's word says He repays the good and evil we do daily (1 Peter 3:12, Eph. 6:8). God wants us to be good so He can bless us (Psalm 125:4). We can't be good unless we do good, and we must practice righteousness to do good. God constantly does good because He is good. We must constantly do good so we can be considered righteous, holy and blameless before God. God’s Ways are righteous and when we practice righteousness, we are living by God’s Ways. God’s Ways are holy and when we practice living holy by keeping God’s Ways, we are considered holy by God (1 John 3:7). God’s Way is blameless, and all who live for God by serving others are living as God lives and are, therefore, considered blameless (Job 1:1, 8; 2:3; Gen. 6:9). Job knew that according to God’s word, he was not guilty of sin (Job 10:7). His sins were in a bag (Job 14:16-17). He knew he was a just and blameless man, even though his friends did not think so. They thought he was a joke (Job 12:4). But Job was the one who spoke what was right before God (Job 42:8). All God’s true disciples are servants of others for God. They put no confidence in the flesh, in which there is no good thing (Phil. 3:3). What a wonderful day it will be when Jesus Christ comes, when all people will love each other by serving their neighbors and practicing hospitality toward one another. Everyone will be learning to love others in a selfless way, because they will be serving others for the glory of God (Matt. 5:16; Col. 3:17). Yes, it pays to be good for God because then, He can bless us and bring us into the good life, which is the life that God lives (Acts 3:26). "You have to go to church" MISCONCEPTION: You must go to church. Yet there are 30,000 different churches teaching differing doctrines. That’s religious confusion. That’s Babylon! THE TRUTH IS: Christ is the church and the body of believers who live like Jesus Christ gave them example to live are that church. They are overcoming their evil natures like Jesus gave them example to do. Shocking as it may seem, Jesus came to start a spiritual church. Everyone who belongs to that spiritual church must live a spiritual life for Jesus every day by overcoming like Jesus Christ their example told them to do (Rev. 3:21). Jesus Christ’s body is the church and that body is now spiritual so the gates of hell cannot prevail against it (Col. 1:24; Matt. 16:18). Jesus is the Rock on which the true church was founded. Peter’s name only meant pebble or small stone in Matthew 16:18 (see margin). Remember always, Jesus is the Rock. Peter is the pebble. • How Stubborn Are We? | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How Stubborn Are We? In the parable of the sower, the only persons who made the grade when they heard the true message of the kingdom where those whose seed was sown on good ground (Matt. 13:23). The good ground represents those with an honest and good heart (Luke 8:15). There are few people with honest and good hearts and that is why many are called and few chosen. It is also why very few find the narrow Way (Matt. 7:14). You cannot know the message of God unless you live the message by being a daily doer of good. You must put into practice the truth in order to come to the understanding of the light (John 3:21). You must be willing to do God’s Will in order to know the teaching (John 7:17). You must live the message in order to say you believe in Jesus Christ, then and only then will you never die (John 11:26). To believe in the Son is to obey the Son, and to obey the Son, you must keep His sayings and do them and perform them (John 3:36; 8:51; 12:47-48; Luke 6:46). The message of repentance is always the same. Overcome evil by doing good if you expect to abide forever (Psalm 34:13-14; 37:27; Rom. 12:21; 1 Peter 3:10; Dan. 4:27; Is. 1:16-17; Zeph. 2:3). This is just what our evil nature does not want to hear. It wants to be told the message that says do nothing and you will be saved (Titus 1:16). When you hear this message, you are warned not to harden your heart - by not living it right away. The message of serving others and doing good becomes nothing more than a good intention to the many, but those few with honest and good hearts begin immediately so their hearts do not begin to harden. A hardened criminal is one who is given every opportunity to change but doesn’t. His desire is to remain who he is and not be told what to do. What happens to those God has called, who have less than an honest and good heart? Are they doomed to be destroyed in the lake of fire? In Revelation 3:15, the Lord is disturbed by those who do not continue to worship Him with their whole heart by being zealous or hot for good works (Titus 2:14). These people had been greatly blessed by God but then became lukewarm for good works for God’s glory (Matt. 5:16). This spiritual sickness happens to many (Rev. 2:5; 3:1-2). This is also what happened to the ancient Israelites when they had the same good news preached to them (Heb. 4:2). God wishes that none should perish so he helps the disobedient to repent. God disciplines us for our own good (Heb. 12:10-11). In the very near future, He will bring many to repentance by bringing on the plagues of Revelation. He will make the sun seven times brighter or hotter to scorch men in order to force their evil natures to repent (Rev. 16:8-11). He will make hail, about 127 pounds in size, come down to get people’s attention and help them repent. A worldwide earthquake will topple all the tall buildings in all the cities of every nation (Rev. 16:18-19). Even Jerusalem will be split into three parts. However, people will continue to blaspheme God (Rev. 16:21). Everyone on this earth will wonder what’s happening? But those who serve the Lord by serving others and live to please Him in all their ways will understand clearly what’s happening. They will have been given eyes to see by God because they have been obedient to His voice—the Bible (Rev. 17:8-9). They are the ones who have come out of religious confusion, religious Babylon, and worship God with their bodies by the way they live (Rom. 12:1). They are continually helping those in need, which is pure religion, undefiled (James 1:27) The Day of the Lord is not to be taken lightly (Zeph. 1:14-18; Is. 66:15-17). God wants us to return to Him so that He can return to us (Zech. 1:3-4; 7:10-12) Notice, the message of how to repent has never changed. Good works are necessary for repentance (Acts 26:20). This is the one message that caused the people to despise the prophets of old. These prophets were sent by God Himself to instruct the people on how to repent and amend their ways, deeds and actions. You’ll never have trouble telling a boy scout to do good; however many Christians seem to have trouble with it. God has told us all along what is good and what He requires of us, but many refuse to listen (Micah 6:8) The word of God is clear that the majority of those God is calling, in the last days, will suffer greatly to be perfected by Him. All one needs to do is review these few Scriptures: Revelation 6:11; 9:15; 13:7; 14:12-13; 18:24; 20:4; and 2:10. God in His mercy will even save those who are lukewarm by testing them severely, if necessary. What a great and wonderful God we live to serve, one who cares more for us than we do for ourselves (Ezek. 33:31-33)! Hallelujah! • Be Wholehearted | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Be Wholehearted Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for you are only passing this way once, and you might as well give it your best shot. This is the idea, stated in modern terminology, that Solomon was trying to get across in Ecclesiastes 9:10. It is also a godly trait. Our Creator wants us to be wholehearted, or have singleness of heart in everything we do (Acts 2:46; Eph. 6:5; Col. 3:22). He wants us to be single-minded, with one purpose (Matt. 6:22; Luke 11:34). The key to singleness of eye, singleness of heart and singleness of purpose is in serving other people and helping them be successful. That is why our Lord said that the greatest among you will be a servant to his brothers (Matt. 23:11). "Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor" (1 Cor. 10:24). Jesus Christ, our example, taught people how to completely come out of self and become totally unselfish. He called all 12 disciples together and told them the way to become first in the kingdom is to be servants of all (Mark 9:35). Give it your all! Give it your best shot! Jesus used the strongest word He could when He said to be a "slave" to all (Mark 10:44). Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve others for the glory of God (Mark 10:45). He did this wholeheartedly to the point of dying for us. He wants us to take the message of being a servant of others for the glory of God soberly. We are to have the attitude Jesus Christ had (Phil. 2:5, 7). We are to abide by His teachings and walk as He walked (1 John 2:6). So, whatever your hand finds to do, seriously, do it with your whole heart, knowing that it pleases your Creator when you put your brother’s welfare first, before your own. Do all that you do in the name of Christ, as all disciples of Jesus Christ are commanded to do (Col. 3:17). • Being Tested in Your Faith | Daily Grains

Being Tested in Your Faith When you decided to stop living to the flesh and started to live to the Spirit by practicing righteousness to please God every day, things started happening to you that you may not understand. The Apostle Peter says not to be surprised at the fiery ordeal that comes upon you for your testing. Do not think that some strange thing is happening to you. Instead, remember that you are sharing in the sufferings of Christ. Keep on rejoicing so at the revelation of His glory, you may rejoice with great enthusiasm. Look what is happening to you! "After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you." You are being made complete in Christ. You are being made into a new creation. For if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:13 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; 13 but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. 1 Peter 4:12-13 After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. 1 Peter 5:10 Finally, brethren, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. 2 Corinthians 13:11 For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. • Jesus Command: Love One Another | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Jesus Command: Love One Another Many think today that we automatically love one another, as a natural result of being a follower of Jesus Christ and having God’s Spirit within us. Do you agree with this? Let’s see what the word of God says. First let’s examine these Scriptures: John 15:12—Jesus Christ said, “This is My commandment, that you love one another.” John 15:14—“You are My friends, if you do what I command you.” John 15:17—“This I command you, that you love one another.” Hebrews 10:24—Let us stimulate and provoke one another to love. 1 John 3:10-11—Anyone who does not practice righteousness for God, or anyone who does not love his brother, remains a child of the devil. This is the message we have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 1 John 3:14—We know we have passed out of death into life, because we love each other (the brethren). Anyone who does not love those who are living for God, abides in death. 1 John 3:16-19—We know we love those, who are living for God, if we would lay down our lives for each other. Whoever sees his brother or sister in need and closes his heart against them, how does the love of God abide in him? Let us not love in word but in deed (good works). We will know by this that we are of the truth and we will assure our hearts before God. 1 John 3: 23—And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another just as Jesus commanded us. 1 John 4:7-8—Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God. Everyone who loves is born of God (born again) and knows God. The one who does not love his brothers and sisters who live for God, does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:11-13—Beloved, if God loved us, we also ought to love one another. If we love one another, God abides in us and His love is perfected in us. This is how we know we abide in Him and He in us. We know also He has given us His Spirit. 1 John 4:16-21—God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. This is how love is perfected in us. We will have confidence in the day of judgment, because as Jesus lived, we also live like Him in this world. There is no guilt or fear in love, but perfect love casts out all guilt or fear, because the one who fears or feels guilty is not perfected in love. We love, because He loved us first. If someone says, “I love God,” and does not love his brother, he hates his brother; he is a liar, for the one who does not love those who live to please God daily, whom he has seen and knows, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brothers and sisters who love God also. 1 John 5:2-3—By this we know that we love those whom God has called, when we love God and keep His commands. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and they are not hard to keep. 2 John 4-5—I was very glad to find some of your children walking in truth, just as we have received commandment to do from the Father. And now I ask you, lady, not as writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another. 3 John 11—The one who does good is from God. How do you love one another? Share with others, and thus learn how to share (Acts 2:45-46; Titus 3:14; 1 Tim. 6:18). Love each other with God’s love, that He will give you liberally. Show kindness to others (Prov. 14:22). Pray for others continually and from the heart (1 Thess. 5:17). Say only good of others, always giving the benefit of any doubt (Eph. 4:29, Luke 6:31). Be genuine and complimentary to others (Luke 6:45). If you know someone who is sick or going through an illness, send them a note of encouragement or a small gift to show them love (Prov. 19:6; Acts 9:36). Open the door for someone, buy someone a cup of coffee, let someone go ahead of you in line (Prov. 11:25; Phil. 2:4; 1 Cor. 10:24). Go to nursing homes and cheer up the lonely for God. This will make the widow’s heart leap for joy (Job 29:13). Show hospitality to the elderly, the blind or crippled, and fulfill Jesus’ commands (Luke 14:13). There is so much good we can do, it’s really exciting. “But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good” (2 Thess. 3:13). In closing, follow the same advice that the apostle Paul gave the people of God in Macedonia: For indeed you do practice love toward all your brothers, but I urge you brethren to excel still more and do not get weary in doing good for God’s glory (1 Thess. 4:10; 2 Thess. 3:13). Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven (Matt. 5:16). • Is There Any Future For Me? | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Is There Any Future For Me? Do you feel there is no hope for you because your problems are so great? Have you lost control of your life? Have you ever asked, "Is there any future for me and my family?" The answer is, "Yes!" But only if you repent, and begin to live for God and please Him daily (Acts 26:20; Rom. 12:21; Eph. 5:10; Prov. 31:25). There is a future for the righteous because even if you die, you will be resurrected to live forever (Is. 3:10; 1 John 2:17; John 5:28-29). Only the wicked, who will not repent by serving others for God and thus learn righteousness, will perish (Is. 3:11; 26:9-10). As parents, you are to live for God by training your children to do what is right. You must teach them to obey and not to argue. Teach them how to help with family chores and responsibilities, such as keeping their rooms clean. Your children need to learn not to give in to peer pressure, to do what is wrong. Instead, they need to be examples of light by continually doing what is right, at school and at play (Ezek. 14:20; Eph. 6:1-3). Soon you will notice that your children are changing too, and life in your home will be more peaceful and beautiful. God is looking for people who will be examples of righteousness for Him, whether they be children or adults. There are plenty who are examples of lawlessness and sin for Satan. God has promised if you seek to please Him by practicing what is right in His sight, He will help you solve your problems (Eph. 5:10, 17; Matt. 6:33; 1 John 3:22). • How To Build More Faith | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How To Build More Faith Jesus Christ had faith in His Father because He respected His Father’s Will. He used His Father as an example. Whatever He saw His Father do, He did likewise. His Father loved Him and showed Him all things (John 5:19-20). Christ did nothing of His own initiative but He only did what He was taught by His Father to do (John 8:28). He always did things that were pleasing to His Father (John 8:29). Disciples of Jesus Christ must also learn to love and imitate the Father by doing the same deeds that Christ did—helping the poor, lame and blind; in general, living a life of doing good (Eph. 5:1). We overcome our sinful natures by doing so (Rom. 12:9, 21). When we become zealous for good deeds and endure to the end, the Father is glorified (1 Peter 3:13; Titus 2:14; Rev. 2:26; Matt. 5:16). This is the way the Father wishes to be worshiped (John 4:23; 1 John 3:18-19; Rom. 12:1). We must be careful to do these things in the name of Jesus Christ, for the glory of the Father in heaven (Rom. 2:7; 10:2-3; Col. 3:17). Faith and belief in Jesus Christ require daily obedience to Him (Rom. 16:26). Many of the religious leaders of Jesus Christ’s day were becoming obedient to that one faith (Acts 6:7). Jesus Christ was obedient to that one faith and He endured until the end, leaving us an example of how we should live to please the Father daily by serving others (John 16:33; Matt. 23:11). The Bible says a person is foolish if he thinks he can have faith without works (James 2:20). It even says faith without works is dead, because this is how our faith is perfected (James 2:22, 26). Without these works of charity, love and service to others, we are not justified (James 2:24). The religious Pharisees of old were practicing righteousness to be seen of men, and not for God for repentance. Obedience to the faith of Jesus Christ requires that you practice righteousness for the glory of God daily for repentance, overcoming, and a change of nature, as well as for great blessings. • Does God Use Evil Spirits? | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Does God Use Evil Spirits? Does God sometimes use Satan to do His Will? Yes, says the word of God in Job 1:12 and 2:6. God in heaven uses evil spirits or deceiving spirits to do His Will also (2 Chron. 18:20-22). The Lord can mix a spirit of distortion in people (Is. 19:14). The misled and the one who misleads belong to Him (Job 12:16). He makes fools of judges (Job 12:17). He takes away judgment or discernment from the leaders of a land (Job 12:20). God makes great nations, then destroys them when they sin (Job 12:23). He actually takes intelligence away from people (Job 12:24). I make peace and I create evil. I do all these things, says the Lord (Isaiah 45:7). In Judges 9:23, God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem. An evil spirit from the Lord terrorized Saul (1 Sam 16:14-15, 23; 18:10). First Kings 22:21-23 reveals a spirit was talking to the Lord about deceiving someone. God has meetings from time to time with the sons of God, which in this case are angels (Job 1:6; 2:1). Many excuse these examples because they are in the Old Testament. But God used Satan and evil spirits in the New Testament also. Turn to Acts 12:23. Here an angel of the Lord struck King Herod and the king was eaten by worms. Satan demanded permission from God to sift the apostle Peter like wheat, just like he did Job in the Old Testament (Luke 22:31). Evil spirits were pounding on people in Acts 19:16. The apostle Paul was continually being thwarted by Satan (1 Thess. 2:18). Some Christians were being turned over to Satan for the destruction of their flesh (1 Cor. 5:5). Today the devil is still scheming to get at disciples of Jesus Christ (Eph. 6:11). Satan will cast some into prison in the last days, and God says if they will be faithful for ten days, they will receive eternal life after they die (Rev. 2:10). Many end-time believers will be killed by Satan (Rev. 6:11; 9:15; 20:4). Yes, God is using Satan and evil spirits in His overall plan of salvation until Christ returns. Then Satan will be put in chains for 1,000 years until he is needed again for a short time (Rev. 20:7-8)! Now you can believe God uses evil spirits because you read it with your own eyes, in your own Bible. • Christ's Simple Message | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Christ's Simple Message Christ's simple message was, "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand," (Matt. 4:17). God wants to build a new heart in you, but you must be willing to repent or change (Ezek. 18:31; 36:26; Zech. 7:9, 12). You must be willing to turn around and go another way (Matt. 13:15). You must live God's Way - the Way of peace. God's Way is not the way of evil, but the way of good. Wouldn't it be something if God said He was good but He never did any good? He wouldn't really be good then; nor would He be God, would He (Psalm 145:17)? Wouldn't it be something if someone claimed to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and didn't continually live a life of doing good as Jesus did? He really wouldn't be a disciple then, would He? God is good because He does good continually, just as a true disciple of Christ does (Acts 9:36). Yes, a true disciple of Jesus Christ is one who does deeds of kindness and charity continually, day by day. He is a "do-gooder" for God, rather than a "good-for-nothing" for Satan (3 John 11; 1 John 3:10). God wants you to imitate Him so He can form Jesus Christ's nature in you and, at the same time, crush Satan's nature in you and bring it under control (Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1; Gal. 4:19; Rom. 16:20). It's an easy and pleasant process, but it does require obedience on your part (Matt. 11:30; Acts 5:32). After all, a faith with no obedience is no faith at all (James 2:20, 22, 24, 26). The world is full of people who have no light in them because they are into so much sin. They are full of darkness. God is making people who never had light into 1,000 watt light bulbs. God wants them to practice righteousness daily for Him. He wants people to glorify Him by doing good works so their lights will begin to shine for others to see (Matt. 5:16). Granted, when you start a life of overcoming evil by continually doing good works, your light may only be 25 watts, but eventually it will increase and increase as your old nature fades. God's new nature will then begin to be formed in you, with your cooperation, of course! Be careful not to do your good works for reasons of being noticed by men. Instead, do your good works so people notice God in you (Matt. 6:1; Eph. 6:6). Do all that you do in the name of Jesus Christ, as we have been commanded (Col. 3:17). God bless you as you begin to live a life that is a blessing to others-your new life in Christ! • How Do You Seek God? | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search How Do You Seek God? The question is asked, “How do you seek God?” The answer is given by God in Romans 3:10-11. There is no one who seeks God, there is no one who understands. Understands what? How to seek God? Yes! There is no one who does good. Good for who, Sam, Bill, Pete or David? No! There is no one who does good for God. Why? Because that is how you seek Him. Matthew 5:16 says, that God is glorified by good works done on His behalf and that is how a true doer of God’s word lets his light shine before men. We overcome by keeping Jesus Christ’s works of love and charity (Rev. 2:26). That is how we seek for glory and honor and immortality (Rom. 2:7). That is how the Lord blesses us (Rom. 2:6). Glory and honor to everyone who does good for God (Rom. 2:10). Doing good works for God is how you repent daily and turn to Him and have the veil removed from your eyes (2 Cor. 3:16). Good works have always been necessary for repentance, the Apostle Paul says (Acts 26:20). Good works is not only how you seek God, but how you continually get His attention. Be sure that all the works of love you do in word or in deed are done in the name of Jesus Christ for the glory of the Father (Col. 3:17). Then, study the Scriptures by subject daily, and understand and put them into action in your daily life for God. That is how you truly seek God. That is how you seek the kingdom, and that is how the kingdom within is entered (Matt. 6:33; 5:20; 2 Peter 1:11; Luke 17:21 King James Version). • Narrow is the Way | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Narrow is the Way True discipleship is a Way of life. It is not only called the Way, but it is also called the Way of holiness and the Way of righteousness (Matt. 21:32). Sometimes the Way is called a gate or a door (Luke 13:24). Jesus is the door, the bread, the Way, the truth and the life (John 10:9; 6:41, 48; 14:6). The Way is also called the Way of truth (2 Peter 2:2). This truth must be practiced in order to enter the light (John 3:21). The light, then, is the good life and the good life is the God life or the Way that God lives. No wonder true disciples are told to imitate God, speak like God and discipline themselves for the purpose of godliness (Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1; 1 Peter 4:11; 1 Tim. 4:7; 6:3; Titus 1:1). We are to walk in Jesus Christ’s steps (1 Peter 2:21; 1 John 2:6). Jesus said that the ones who believed in Him would be doing the same works, and even greater works than He did, because His earthly ministry was cut short (John 14:12). Jesus’ faith had works. When you keep Jesus’ works by doing the same, you overcome the flesh with its evil passions and desires (Gal. 5:24). And if you endure to the end, Jesus Christ will grant you to sit with Him and rule the nations of this earth with a rod of iron (Rev. 2:26; 5:10). Jesus’ Way is easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30). It is the Way to peace (Luke 1:79; Rom. 3:17). It is the Way of the Lord (Psalm 18:21). We are to walk in the Way or walk in the truth (2 John 4, 6). We are to walk in good works (Eph. 2:10). We are to be careful to engage in good works, for the one who actively, continually does good is of God (Titus 3:8; 1 Peter 2:12; 3 John 11). And the one who will not practice righteousness by doing good is not of God (1 John 3:7, 10, 18). Simple isn’t it? God is sorting out those who will be the doers of the word and those who will remain hearers (James 1:22, 27). The ministers of Christ’s day, called religious Pharisees, would not so much as lift a finger in regard to doing any good for God (Matt. 23:4). They did all their deeds to be noticed by men (Matt. 23:5). True doers of good works for God are cautioned to have the right attitude (Matt. 6:1-6). They are told to pray in secret and give in secret. How far removed from the truth of God many are today! It is a good thing there is a tomorrow, so we can immediately correct the situation. Be a sheep and do not continue to be a goat (Matt. 25:33-46). Do all that you do in good works or good words (cheering up those in hospitals, in nursing homes, or those who are depressed) in the name of Jesus Christ daily, and begin to subject yourself to the righteousness of God (Rom. 10:3). • Must Christians Suffer? | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search Must Christians Suffer? Once you start to live like Christ, a strange thing will happen (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1; 1 Peter 4:12). You might begin to suffer (Acts 14:22). When this happens, it is God’s stamp of approval, showing that He is working with you (Rom. 8:17-18; Heb. 12:8). Jesus Christ says anyone who will live as God lives will suffer persecution (2 Tim. 3:12; John 15:20). "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matt. 5:10). People may falsely say bad things about you, or persecute you because you are living your life for Christ by being zealous for good deeds (Matt. 5:11; Titus 2:14). If you are glorifying God with your good works and allowing God to crush your old nature, He must surely test you (Matt. 5:16; Rom. 16:20; 12:21). "Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great" (Matt. 5:12). You know full well, when you first start living a life that pleases God, the good deeds you force yourself to do will not come from your heart (Rom. 7:21; Luke 16:16). You must go through the hypocritical stage of the Pharisees (Matt. 5:20). Eventually, you will do the Will of God from your heart if you continue doing good daily and do not turn back (Eph. 6:6). This is done by disciplining yourself for the purpose of godliness (1 Tim. 4:7). You must force yourself to be a slave of righteousness for Jesus Christ by using the members of your body as slaves of righteousness (1 Cor. 9:27; Rom. 6:13, 18-19). You force your way into the kingdom of God that is within you by renewing your mind and your heart with God’s Spirit (Luke 16:16; 17:21). You enter the kingdom of God when you have totally rested from all your works of the flesh (Heb. 4:10). This is the same as entering God’s spiritual rest. You rest from the works of the flesh when you stop doing things your way and start doing them God’s Way, as an obedient servant. You learn obedience to God when you suffer (Heb. 5:8). That is how you are made perfect like Jesus Christ (Heb. 5:9; Matt. 5:48; Heb. 12:23). All humans suffer during their lifetime (1 Peter 3:17; 5:9-10). Disciples of Jesus Christ count it a joy because their suffering has a godly purpose when they live only to imitate God by keeping His Ways (1 Peter 4:1-2, 12-13, 16-19; Eph. 5:1; Phil. 3:8-11). • The Mistake of the Pharisees | Bible Studies

wholewheatonline.com Search The Mistake of the Pharisees The fatal mistake of the Pharisees was that they were doing righteousness for the wrong reasons. They were doing righteous acts to be seen of men and not to glorify God (Matt. 5:16). Jesus was constantly reminding them of what they were doing wrong but they were living so much to the flesh, they could not hear the words of the Spirit (Matt. 9:13; 12:7; Prov. 21:3). Jesus was telling the Pharisees how to clean the inside of the cup by being true servants to others so they would not be hypocrites (Matt. 23:11, 25). He was telling them how to enter the kingdom of heaven within (Matt. 23:13; Luke 17:21). This is the key to knowledge of how to be truly converted from the inside. In the example of the good Samaritan, Christ was showing the Pharisees that the people they called religious fakes were more compassionate to the needy than they were (Luke 10:30-37). Those who handled the Law of Moses were holding people back, keeping from them the keys to the kingdom (Luke 11:52). The understanding of how to enter the kingdom was then given to Peter (Matt. 16:19). Peter knew what the Pharisees were doing wrong. Many Pharisees did repent and become obedient to the faith (Acts 6:7). Unrepentant sinners do bad works. Repentant sinners do good works for God - works meant for repentance (Acts 26:20). Performing good works for God by imitating Jesus Christ’s works is how you overcome the deeds of the flesh (Rev. 2:26). You live to the Spirit (Rom. 8:13-14). Then you do not carry out the desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). Once you put your hand to the plow, which represents doing good works for God, do not look back or get weary of well-doing (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13). Soon you will be a new creation with Christ formed in you (Gal. 6:15; 4:19). Then you will be complete (2 Cor. 13:9, 11). You will also be a peculiar person, zealous for good works and not worthless, but worth more (Titus 2:14; 1:16). This is the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness and it requires discipline (Titus 1:1; 1 Tim. 4:7). If anyone advocates a different doctrine than this, he is conceited and understands nothing (1 Tim. 6:3-4). Be a sheep and not a goat (Matt. 25:33-46). Allow God to crush Satan (your old nature) under your heel (Rom. 16:20). Soon, as a happy slave of Christ, you will be doing the Will of God from your heart and will escape from the snare of the devil which traps others to do his will (Eph. 6:6; 2 Tim. 2:26). You will not be caught making the same mistake the Pharisees of old made.
