- Are We Born Evil? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Are We Born Evil? Our Creator says we were created flesh with a nature of flesh, and if we continue living to the flesh we must die (John 3:6; Rom. 8:12-13). What is the flesh nature in man that we were given? The deeds of the flesh are evident (Gal. 5:19-21). They are evil. Put a “d” on evil and you have devil. That’s what man’s nature is (John 6:70). Man’s heart is more deceitful than all else and desperately sick, it is beyond understanding (Jer. 17:9). Man’s nature is capable of doing anything wicked—absolutely anything—while God’s nature is only good. Just study these Scriptures, and be prepared for a shock: Deuteronomy 28:53; Isaiah 9:19-20; Ezekiel 5:10; 2 Kings 18:27; Isaiah 36:12; Zechariah 11:9; Matthew 15:19, Mark 7:21, and 2 Timothy 3:2-5. In our fleshly state, we are considered as beasts or dogs (Eccl. 3:18; Matt. 7:6; 15:26; Rev. 22:15; Psalm 22:16, 20). Man is evil from his youth (Gen. 8:21). Even Jesus was born of the flesh with a fleshly nature, not knowing enough to refuse His evil impulses and choose good over evil when He was a child. He had the same evil nature we have, for if He hadn’t, He could not have been our example of how to overcome (Is. 7:14-16; Heb. 5:8; 1 John 4:1, 2; 2 John 7; John 16:33; Rev. 3:21). Remember, everyone who comes in the flesh is born with a fleshly nature. Jesus, who created us, says we are wicked from the womb and we go astray from birth (Col. 1:16; Psalm 58:3). We have all seen a child throw a temper tantrum, so we know this is true! No, you don’t have to teach a child to be evil, do you? Instead, you must teach a child to be good, because human nature is not good. In Proverbs 22:6, it says we are to train up a child in the way he should go, they must be trained in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:15-17). This is why Jesus said He was not good (Mark 10:18; Luke 18:19; Rom. 7:18). Yes, Jesus knew what was in man (John 2:25; 6:70; Matt. 16:23). We were all born with evil natures that must be overcome (Rev. 2:11, 26; 3:5). Our evil natures can be overcome, if we practice righteousness for God zealously until God gives us the desire to do good from the heart (Eph. 6:6; Matt. 5:20; 6:1). When we are zealous in doing good, God will crush Satan in us (Rom. 16:20). That is why true disciples of Jesus Christ are told not to get weary in doing good (2 Thess. 3:13; Gal. 6:9-10; Rom. 2:7). Then, with God’s help, we can truly be set free from that evil nature (1 Peter 5:10). Thank you, Jesus! Consider these Scriptures: John 6:44, 65; Ephesians 2:1-3; and Titus 1:16. Remember, the people who killed Jesus Christ and the apostles were very religious (Phil. 3:2; John 16:2). Many religions throughout history have grown great because they killed off their competitors. In the sixteenth century, for example, over 50 million people died. Those who killed them thought they were worshiping God, (Mark 7:7) however, they still had the rotten natures they’d always had, because they had not been told how to overcome. Yes, we are born evil! Yes, we must overcome that evil heart and become pure and righteous, living to please the Lord each day by living His Way (Matt. 5:6, 8; Acts 10:35; Rev. 22:12-14). We must do the practicing and God does the perfecting (1 Cor. 3:7; Col. 2:19; 1 Thess. 4:9-10). God’s word says if we do not practice righteousness for God daily, we will remain children of the devil (1 John 3:7, 10).❑ PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- Purity - A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Purity - A Woman to Woman Article God frequently tests me to see how I will react to persecution. He allows Satan to orchestrate that persecution to see if I truly will love my enemies and those who persecute me. The most difficult persecution is when it comes from within your own home. Be ready! It will happen to test those God is calling and choosing. It is important to pray daily for God’s strength to handle any situation that may come up. Jesus lived to do good to everyone, even His enemies, and we should too (Matt. 5:44). Jesus Christ didn’t complain when they crucified Him. He said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34; 1 Peter 4:13). Every time my nature even begins to take offense, I say, “Father, forgive them; because they do not know what they are doing.” There isn’t time to be offended. Every precious minute must be happy and filled with thoughts of God’s Will and Ways, and God’s love for others. I must keep a pure heart and mind at all times. If I have done my best for God, I will say as Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God (Matt. 5:8). I will remember that to the pure, all things are pure (Titus 1:15). Let’s practice righteousness by practicing purity in our thoughts and actions. We must be strong with God’s strength and keep God’s Ways and God’s Will uppermost in our minds. If we keep clean hands and a pure heart, we will receive God’s blessings (Psalm 24:4-5). If we remain sensible and pure, the word of God will not be dishonored (Titus 2:5). Philippians 4:8 reminds us all inclusively, “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.” PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

- Our Perfect Example of Suffering | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Our Perfect Example of Suffering Jesus Christ came to show man the life of God, which true disciples are to live to become partakers of the new divine nature. The suffering Jesus went through was for His perfection. He became obedient through suffering. Christ was made perfect by the Father through His suffering (1 Peter 4:1). He was the perfect example of the conversion process to all those who obey Him and have eyes to see (Heb. 5:8-9). When you discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness, or when you are disciplined by God the Father for the purpose of having Christ formed in you, strange things begin to happen to you (1 Tim. 4:7; 6:3; 2 Peter 1:4; Gal. 4:19). Old friends turn their backs on you. People you have loved and helped begin to persecute you (Matt. 5:10). All kinds of fiery ordeals that are rather perplexing begin to happen to you. Slowly, you begin to realize that you are undergoing tests sent by the Father for the perfecting of your faith (1 Peter 4:12-13). Some of those tests could be personal tragedies in the home. Maybe your wife or husband turns against you (Matt. 10:36). Maybe your children become your adversaries. Sickness may strike you or your loved ones (Dan. 8:27). It could be boils as Job had or a grievous sore as Hezekiah experienced (Job 2:7; 2 Kings 20:1). Your grievous trial could be an accident or a sickness that brings you near death. The Bible records many examples of sickness that can help us understand the purpose for suffering. Lazarus was sick (John 11:1). Another disciple of Christ, Epaphroditus, was sick to the point of death (Phil. 2:25, 27). Many disciples who were backsliding were sick and many of them died (1 Cor. 11:30). Paul left Trophimus, a disciple of Christ, in the city of Miletus because he was sick (2 Tim. 4:20). Dorcas, a disciple of Christ, became sick and died, and then was resurrected (Acts 9:36, 40). James tells us what to do when we become sick (James 5:14). Once you understand suffering, you begin to understand the conversion process. Suffering is the method God uses to weaken sin in our bodies and to perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish godly character in us (1 Peter 5:9-10). Just remember to be zealous in pleasing God daily and everything will work out for good (Rom. 8:28). Who will harm you if you are doing good, saying good and thinking good things all the time, to please God (1 Peter 3:13)? When you are zealous for God, that proves to God you are not seeking to save your old life. Instead, God sees you are seeking to please Him with all your heart and all your soul and all your strength (Matt. 22:37; 2 Cor. 5:9; 1 Cor. 15:58). He sees you are hot, zealous and on fire for what is good (Titus 2:14). But if your deeds are lukewarm, you are forcing God to spit you out of His mouth and severely test you (Rev. 3:15-16). Let’s do it the easy way – God’s Way (Matt. 11:30)! PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- Pure and Undefiled Religion | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Pure and Undefiled Religion When we analyze James 1:27, we find out what God expects of us. "This is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father, to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unspotted by the world." Whatever this "pure religion" is, it has to do with helping widows and orphans who are in need. This goes along with 1 John 3:17-18 and James 2:15-17. It also goes along with what John the Baptist told the people to do for repentance (Luke 3:10-11). Even Christ was teaching the message of compassion toward those in need in Luke 10:33-36. He taught us to put the welfare of others first and to be servants of the most (1 Cor. 10:24; Matt. 23:11; 20:26-28; Mark 9:35; 10:43-45). Jesus said true disciples - the sheep - serve others in need, while false Christians do nothing (Matt. 25:33-46; Titus 1:16). These false Christians are considered goats or dogs, while true disciples worship in the Spirit of God, give the glory to Jesus Christ and put no confidence in the flesh (Phil. 3:2-3). True disciples glorify God by doing good works daily, allowing their lights to shine before men in such a way that they bring glory to the Father (Matt. 5:16). Continually doing good for God's glory is our spiritual service of worship (Rom. 12:1). We worship God by presenting our bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, using the members of our bodies as instruments of righteousness only (Rom. 6:13). In this way, we become happy slaves of righteousness (Rom. 6:18-19; Eph. 6:6). God is well-pleased with this kind of sacrifice (Heb. 13:16). Doing good is also how we put to death the evil deeds of the body and live to the Spirit, which is God (Rom. 8:13-14). When we walk in the Spirit by serving others for God, we will not carry out the desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). Instead, we will be overcoming evil by doing good for God in Christ's name (Rom. 12:21; 1 Peter 3:11; Col. 3:17). We will be keeping Christ's works and overcoming Satan by allowing the God of peace to crush him in our nature (Rom. 16:20; Rev. 2:26). This is pure and undefiled religion, and this is how we keep ourselves unspotted by the world. This simple, pure devotion to Christ is simply walking as Jesus walked; and it is so easy and pleasant (2 Cor. 11:3; 1 John 2:6; Matt. 11:30)! You have no excuse for your sins now that you know how to overcome them (John 15:22). When Jesus Christ returns to this earth shortly, will you be among those who are found overcoming evil by doing good in a dark world (Phil. 2:15; Luke 18:8)? Will you be prepared to meet the Lord (Luke 1:17)? PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- When Will The End of the World Come? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search When Will The End of the World Come? The world itself will not end but will be renewed and remade. In fact, there is also going to be a new heaven according to Revelation 21:1-2. Many people refer to 2 Peter 3:10, where many translations say it will be burned up, whereas other translations render the word discovered (see footnote in your Bible). Now consider this: Jesus Christ must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet (1 Cor. 15:25-26). The last enemy that will be abolished is death. Revelation 20:14 says, “And death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.” The reward of the saved is co-rulership with Jesus Christ (Rev. 2:26). We will be kings and priests and reign on this earth. If the world is going to be totally destroyed, then God’s plan for redeeming lost sinners would be destroyed. The word of God states, “…world without end” (Is. 45:17, King James Version). There is only one condition in which the Lord would utterly destroy the world. Malachi 4:5-6 says if Elijah does not come before the great and terrible day of the Lord at the end of the age, the land will be cursed. Elijah’s message will restore broken families and establish the husband and father as head of the family. Children will once again respect their fathers in a godly way. Otherwise, God will smite this earth with a curse and the word curse should be translated “utter destruction.” PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International

- Resentment | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Resentment A terrible disease of the flesh Resentment is a very treacherous thing. It is dangerous because it builds so slowly, we often are not even aware of its presence. Resentment kills people, destroys marriages, causes misunderstandings between friends, and is an enemy of all happiness. It is the cause of wars, racial strife, murder, and rape. It can be present in almost every situation in life. People resent laws, regulations, taxes, governments, employers, foremen, teachers, neighbors, relatives, friends, and their own children. Children resent their parents and the parents resent their children’s resentment of them, and on and on it goes. Resentment actually kills the resentful person. When we resent someone, we actually hate that person to some degree. That is why the Lord has said those who hate their brother are the same as murderers (1 John 3:15). When we harbor resentment we feel emotionally disturbed. As we become more resentful, we become more emotionally disturbed and our health deteriorates. We feel bad. Some people drink alcoholic beverages to feel good. Some people take narcotics or lose their minds in lust and pornography. Because people hold resentment, the food they eat doesn’t digest properly. Many have stomach trouble. As resentment burns inside, adrenalin pours through the entire system, poisoning and weakening all the organs of the body. Resentment actually eats us alive. It devours us from the inside out. It causes sleepless nights, worry, frustration, anxiety and stress. Some people eat more, craving for some pleasures in life, something to soothe a troubled mind. Life sometimes becomes a living hell. As resentment mounts, frustration mounts. Anxiety and restlessness increase. We become short-tempered. We become angry inside and wild on the outside. On top of all the trouble resentment is causing in our lives, we still have all the other pulls of our human natures to put up with. The apostle Paul said, “I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against my mind, making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in the members of my body. Oh, wretched person that I am, who will set me free from this body of death? Thanks be to God, through our Lord Jesus Christ. So on the one hand I am serving the law of God, while at the same time I am living in my sinful body. But there is no condemnation for those who live to please their Lord Jesus Christ” (Rom. 7:23-25; 8:1). Paul was saying he wanted to do the right thing, but kept doing the opposite. Many of us have the same problem! But should we continue to sin and practice resentment one to another? Heaven forbid! Instead, we must overcome resentment by practicing mercy, compassion and forgiveness with all our might. We cannot allow anything to take our peace in Christ, even if we are living in a “hell on earth.” All is well for those who continue to serve Christ by serving, loving and forgiving others daily. The heart of man is exceedingly evil, beyond all human comprehension (Jer. 17:9; Gen. 6:5; 8:21). Human nature is a fallen nature. It is satanic. That is why Jesus Christ said to the Jews, “You are doing the things your own father does” (John 8:38, 41, 44). Humans are being held captive by Satan to do his will until God allows them to repent (2 Tim. 2:26). Satan fell from the grace of God through bitter resentment. He became puffed up and full of pride because of his beauty and wisdom. Satan’s wisdom and knowledge warped with time, and he became an adversary of God. He twisted the knowledge of God to receive power and acclaim for himself. He wanted to make a name for himself and have people look up to him. Today, Satan’s ministers also demand respect from their followers and lord it over their subjects (Matt. 20:25). They desire to be looked up to and respected for reasons of power, position, fame and wealth (Luke 16:14). Cain was resentful of his righteous brother, Abel, because Abel’s deeds were righteous and Cain knew his own deeds were evil (1 John 3:12). The Lord told Cain that his evil nature was out to destroy him, but he could master it by constantly doing good and what was pleasing in the eyes of the Lord (Gen. 4:7). This truth applies to everyone God calls. We either become like Abel and are persecuted for righteous acts, or we remain like Cain and persecute the righteous. Abel was a friend of God. Cain was of his father, the devil. The Pharisees of Jesus Christ’s day knew He was from God and that His message was right and true (John 3:2). They knew He was right and they were wrong. They resented Jesus because they took the position of Cain. They, like Cain, did not want to be told to overcome their evil natures by doing good for God daily in secret. There is no glory in that for self. That didn’t sound profitable for those ministers of Satan — Pharisees — who were lovers of money more than lovers of God. They sought for fame, glory and respectability from men. They didn’t want respectability from God because they didn’t know Him anyway. It was bitter resentment that killed Jesus Christ, our Savior. Now, if we, as God’s elect (Luke 18:7-9), insist on bearing resentment and practicing it one to another, we make ourselves out to be those who would have killed Jesus Christ if He had lived in our time. When we bear resentment, we maintain the same position as those who hate their neighbor, and Jesus Christ said that is the same as being a murderer (Matt. 5:21-22). Husbands love your wives. Wives love your husbands. Do not allow any bitter resentment to exist in your lives (Col. 3:19). All things can be overcome through practicing charity and love. Don’t resent your children when they demonstrate the fact that they, too, have evil human natures; but love them all the more, and discipline them all the more with love. The word used for love in 1 Corinthians 13 is translated from a word meaning charity. When you practice charity, you do not seek your own glory. You do not act in a way that is displeasing to others. You are more concerned for the welfare of others and their comforts than you are for your own. Charity only believes what is good about others. It is not provoked. It does not take into account wrong that is suffered. That is why charitable love never fails. Make a list of all the things you resent in others. Then realize you were wrong, forgive them, and practice charity one to another with a pure and a light heart before the Lord daily. How do you overcome resentment? First, you must be afflicted by it. Then, when your test begins, apply these principles of Christ. Forgive those who trespass against you daily so the Father in heaven can forgive you your trespasses (Matt. 6:14-15). Do good to those who persecute you or say evil about you. Pray for them. Do not repay them any evil, for that is the Lord’s job (Heb. 10:30). Love all, forgive all, and bless all who curse you. Bless those who say all manner of evil against you, and do not say any evil against them. Joseph’s brothers were resentful of him because he was their father’s favorite son. They all wanted to kill him. Only because of Judah’s greed, was he spared death by being sold (Gen. 37:26-27). Judah, the father of the Jews, was a Judas. He sold his own flesh and blood for money. What does the Bible teach us through the experience of Joseph? It shows that Joseph triumphed over resentment by showing love to his brothers. As a result of his attitude, God exalted him to a position of second-in-command in all Egypt. Did Jesus carry resentment in His heart for those who killed Him? No! He overcame resentment with pure love. “Forgive them, Father, for they do not know what they are doing,” He said (Luke 23:34). We must overcome all resentment in our lives in order to put on the new nature of love. We now are without excuse. It can no longer be said of us, “Forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.” Now we know how important it is to get rid of all resentment in our lives. Destroy resentment by giving it no place in your life! Start now. If you don’t, it will destroy you. It has already harmed you, but you didn’t realize it before. Now you know what to do about it. Forgive everyone all the time; and be like Jesus Christ, our example. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- Deception | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Deception Deception is defined as the act of causing someone to accept as true or valid, that which is false or invalid. It comes in many forms and we should continually be aware, when we are striving to live for God by the truth of His Word. Revelations 12:9 tells us that Satan is deceiving the whole world. Even Simon Peter was sifted as wheat, by Satan, as it talks about in Luke 22:31. He doesn’t want anyone to overcome evil (Satan) by continually doing good for God. Anyone who does overcome is imitating Jesus Christ, and Satan loses another subject in his kingdom (Psalm 37:27; Rom. 12:21). 2 Peter 1:10-11 says; Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you. Jesus warns all His followers in the last days to be careful and not be religiously misled (Matt. 24:5, 24; Luke 21:8). How will you know, and how can you be sure when you are being deceived? What does God’s word say? In order to have a better understanding of the Bible, we should approach it as a lawyer by proving all things with Scripture (Acts 17:11). In Matthew 24, Jesus was asked by His disciples what would happen at the end of the age of man’s rule on this earth. The first subject Jesus addressed in Matthew 24 concerned those who would come preaching in His name (Matt. 24:5). They would deceive and mislead many from the narrow Way that only very few find (Matt. 7:14). Religious deception, then, must be the number one obstacle to finding the truth of God. Matthew 24:11 says; Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. How can one know for certain that the person he is listening to knows the truth, instead of religious lies and half-truths? Jesus said we would know them by their good deeds or fruits (Col. 1:10; Matt. 7:20). God’s true ministers must preach the obedience that is a part of the faith of Jesus Christ (Acts 6:7). Only through this obedience are one's sins covered by the blood of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:2). You must walk in the light to have your sins covered by the blood of Jesus Christ (1 John 1:7). There is one faith, one truth and it must be practiced daily (1 John 1:6; John 3:21). That truth is the Way of righteousness—the Way that Jesus Christ lived and we are to imitate (Matt. 21:32). Jesus not only came to show us how to live to please the Father, He also told us how to live by His very own words. He commanded us to glorify the Father daily by doing righteous good works and thus, let our lights shine before others as godly examples of righteousness (Matt. 5:16). Jesus said that many who would follow Him would do more good works than He did (John 14:12). This is how you learn righteousness—by engaging in it daily like Jesus Christ our example did (Jer. 9:24). Consider the momentous impact that Jesus’ words and actions had on those who observed Him and heard Him speak daily. Consider the effect the apostles had on society at large, and how they were hated by many of the established religions of their day—members of religions who claimed they worshiped God in the right manner. Many do not realize that there were many false churches preaching in the name of Jesus Christ in Jesus’ day (Acts 19:13; Luke 9:49; Matt. 7:22-23). At one time, Jesus had more than 80 disciples who were following Him; including the original twelve apostles. Later, most of them left and only the original twelve remained (Luke 6:13; Luke 10:1; John 6:66-68). Could those who fell away from Jesus Christ have started their own groups or churches? This, of course, would be very feasible. What, then, was Jesus Christ’s advice to those who would seek Him and His truth from His word at the end of the age of man’s rule on earth? Jesus said boldly, “DO NOT GO AFTER THOSE who come preaching in My name” (Luke 21:8). How, then, is one to seek God? One seeks God by diligently studying (not just reading) the Scriptures to find out what kind of conduct pleases God (2 Tim. 2:15 King James Version). We are not to remain fools but understand what God’s Will is. Once we know what God's Will is, He desires that we perform it daily to be pleasing to Him (Eph. 5:17; John 5:30; 7:17; 8:29; 1 John 3:22). It is a fact that one is either pleasing, and serving, God daily by doing His Will or one is pleasing, and serving, Satan daily by not doing it (Matt. 6:24). In Matthew 6:10 we are told to do God’s Will upon this earth daily as it is being done in heaven by God, if we are to be pleasing to Him. It then behooves us to know what that Will is, and to know it well, so that we can walk the straight and narrow Way every day to please Him. God is once again going to determine who the righteous are and who the wicked are, who will become sheep and who will remain goats, who will become whole wheat and who will remain tares (Mal. 3:18; Matt. 25:33-46; 13:24-30, Rev. 22:12). God wants to know who will be a servant of others for Him, like Jesus Christ and Dorcas were (Acts 9:36). This is how to be a doer of the word, be holy by living holy and no longer be religiously deceived (James 1:22). Satan is used by God in heaven to test humans to see whether they will allow themselves to be deceived. God wants to see who is going to receive a love for His truth so as to be saved, and who is not. God wants to find out who could care less. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 says; And with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness. These people are the wicked, that God must sort out before He returns to make a world where only righteousness dwells (Mal. 3:18). This is that great test God is going to bring upon the whole world (Rev. 3:10). Jesus said it is very important for a person to follow Him and not get sidetracked. He especially warns us about those that stray from His truth and message in 2 Timothy 4:3-4; For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. He warns us in Romans 16:17 as well; Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. Look up in your dictionary what it means to 'turn away' and its synonyms. God is very serious about this (2 Thess. 3:6; 1 Cor. 15:33; Prov. 12:26). He used the example of one disciple who wanted to go bury his father, warning us not to let earthly distractions keep us from obeying and doing God’s Will above everything else (Matt. 8:21-22). Deuteronomy 30:17-18 says; But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them, I declare to you today that you shall surely perish. Jesus says that if you do not continue to follow Him because you love your friends, relatives, children or husband more than God are not worthy of eternal life (Matt. 10:37). This is one of the biggest tests that a few may experience. The Bible is full of examples of another kind of deception; when we are deceived by our own human nature. It is usually because of strife, bitterness, envy, jealousy, competitiveness or an unforgiving spirit (Gal. 5:20-26). These attributes are not from God, but from the devil and we should watch out for them. They are of the flesh and not from God’s Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:6; Gal. 5:16). Hebrews 12:15 warns us; See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled. I have seen many a person’s faith suffer shipwreck because of these things (1 Tim. 1:19). I have seen others become so good at justifying themselves, that they sound like intellectuals or philosophers (Luke 16:15). I have seen many make God’s simple truth, very complicated in their lives. I have seen the power of Satan work through those who would not first be followers, but wanted to be teachers before they taught themselves (James 3:1). I have seen wives control their husbands and destroy their faith by doing so (1 Peter 3:1-6, 8, 9). I have seen men do the same (1 Peter 3:7-9). I have seen many who were called to live holy, pure lives begin to think thoughts which are far removed from what is holy and pure (Matt. 16:23; Rom. 8:5-6, Ps. 7:9, Luke 6:45). As people trying to live for God, we are going to be misunderstood, misquoted and have evil spoken of us (Job 15:35; Neh. 6:8, Ps. 83:5, Ps. 119:113, Prov. 24:2, Acts 14:2). If we did not have these trials, we would not grow, nor would the Lord be working with us any longer. God wants to know who is going to endure (Matt. 10:22). He wants to know who is going to keep on keeping on. God tests those who live His Way to see who will devour others and cause dissension and disharmony (1 John 1:6; Rom. 16:17; Gal. 5:15; 2 Tim. 2:14-15). Jesus said, “Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household." (Matt. 10:34-36). Yes, all who live for the Lord will suffer persecution (2 Tim. 3:10-12). If we do not continue to follow Jesus Christ, and keep His Ways and overcome by doing so, we are not worthy of eternal life (Matt. 10:38). Each one of us must answer to God in regard to the tests and trials we all must go through, and if we allow ourselves to stray from the truth of His word (1 Tim. 1:5-7; 2 Pet. 2:20-22). Your spiritual walk is between you and the Lord, and we will each stand before God to give an account for our lives (Rev. 20:12; 2 Tim. 4:8; Heb. 4:12; Rom. 2:16; John 12:48). We are called with a free will and we must make the choice, for ourselves, every day if we are going to live by God’s Ways (Deut. 30:15-20; Rev. 22:12). Whole Wheat strives to help you through these tests and trials by encouraging you with God’s word and constantly reminding you of the one and only truth that saves (Ps. 7:10; 119:160; Zech. 8:16, John 14:6). Seek the truth and it shall set you free (John 8:32). We strive to help you persevere and keep your hand on the plow (Luke 9:62). We strive to help you know how to please God, how to live godly, how to overcome and how to receive answered prayers, using the examples given in Scripture. Most of all, we strive to help you know God, prove that He exists and be His friend and disciple (John 15:8). The foundation of Whole Wheat has always been proving what is true, through Scripture, by studying your own Bible. The best way to learn is to convict yourself. Romans 14:22 says; The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. It is your choice whether or not you use the resources we offer (2 Pet. 1:12-13; 3:1). They are here for you as a support and to share with others. As you continue to apply this message and strengthen your faith in Christ Jesus, then God can continually reveal more to you as you spiritually mature. Then you will not be among those deceived, but will be prepared to meet the Lord instead (Luke 1:17; Rev. 3:7-8). - Enduring With Patience | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Enduring With Patience What does suffering have to do with living God's holy Way of life? Isn't life a bed of roses once a person puts his hand to the plow and decides to practice God's Will in his daily life? But wait! What about the Scripture that says anyone desiring to live in a godly way will suffer persecution (2 Tim. 3:12)? We know those who do wrong suffer (2 Peter 2:13). But is there suffering for those who are doing what is right (1 Peter 2:20-21; 3:17)? First Peter 3:17 says, "It is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong." Yes, God allows us to go through suffering for a very distinct purpose. God has opened our eyes to repentance by good works (Acts 26:20, New International Version). He has shown us how to live each day, letting our lights shine for Him (Matt. 5:16). We're going through the growth process. We are learning every day how to be more like our Father who created us to do good works (Eph. 2:10; 5:10). As we learn, we go through tests and trials. Through these tests and trials, we learn all of God's Ways. The nature that we were all born with needs to die. Our hearts are desperately sick, beyond all understanding (Jer. 17:9). We see that clearly as we go through tests, just as the Apostle Paul did (Rom. 7:18). When we learn to patiently endure suffering, our evil nature will die. God will form Christ's nature in us (Gal. 4:19). Tests and trials will decrease, and when they do come, we will know to be positive and endure, to study the Bible for encouragement and wisdom, and to pray to God and trust in Him to help us through our tests (1 Peter 5:7). We are trained through these tests and this training yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness (Heb. 12:11). Suffering makes us grow. It is not something to grumble about, for it is what actually kills the evil inside our bodies (1 Peter 4:1-2, 12-16; Rom. 16:19-20). This is why true disciples of Jesus Christ persevered in doing good works for God. They were seeking for glory and honor and immortality (Rom. 2:7). How many who profess Jesus as their Savior are doing that today? We must overcome the evil pulls of our flesh by keeping Jesus Christ's works, which He came to show us, and we must endure to the end, keeping these works. By doing so, we will be fit to rule with Jesus Christ and teach the nations of this world the true way to peace-Jesus Christ's Ways (Is. 2:3; Rev. 2:26-27; Matt. 25:14-30). - Honor the Lord with Your Wealth | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Honor the Lord with Your Wealth We are told to live by every word of God because God wants to teach us how to be zealous for good works (Titus 2:14). He wants to teach us to be giving, loving, sharing, caring and charitable people. He wants to make us into the servants of the most (Mark 10:43-45). God wants you to be a willing giver, from the heart, not a person who gives only out of a sense of guilt. He wants to bless you in your life until you have no more needs (Mal. 3:10). He wants you to reap bountifully. He wants to give you abundance so you can have abundance for every good deed (2 Cor. 9:8). He wants you to trade in your old life of getting for a new life of giving. He wants you to multiply your substance or money (seed for sowing) so you may increase your righteousness (2 Cor. 9:10-11). God promises that if you give, He will inspire others to pour blessings into your lap until it is running over. To whatever extent you serve others, God Himself will return blessings to you (Luke 6:38). The Lord is not only telling you to do good with your money, but also to serve others with your time. However, where a man’s treasure (money) is, that is where his heart is also (Matt. 6:21). When you honor the Lord with the first of your substance, you set it apart as God’s money and do good with it (Prov. 3:9). Some people set a fruit jar on the dresser to remind them to disburse God’s money. As the portion in God’s money jar grows, God wants to teach you how to do more good with it and live a life that is blessed. He wants to train you in righteousness by allowing you to disburse His money to those in need. You will discover all kinds of things you can do with God’s money that will glorify Him (Matt. 5:16). Would not this be quite a world to live in if everyone would honor the Lord out of each paycheck and get involved in doing good with it for God? People would be so busy doing good, they would not have time to get into trouble and do evil. Instead, they would be overcoming evil by doing good (Rom. 12:21; Psalm 34:14; 37:3, 27; 1 Peter 3:10-11). God says we are considered righteous when we practice righteousness to please Him (1 John 3:7, 10). When we practice righteousness from the heart, we are truly born of God and we are fulfilling the purpose for which we were created (1 John 2:29; 3 John 11; Eph. 2:10). That is why we are reminded not to get weary in well-doing (2 Thess. 3:13; Gal. 6:9; Rom. 2:7). Yes, sowing seeds of righteousness always results in a life of blessings from God (Eph 6:8). Won’t you get involved in disciplining yourself for the purpose of godliness (1 Tim. 4:7)? Imitate God daily until Christ is formed in you (Eph. 5:1; Gal. 4:19). You will be a doer of God’s word and live as Jesus said to live (John 8:51; 1 John 2:5-6, 17). - Forgive & Forget: A Woman to Woman Article | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Forgive & Forget: A Woman to Woman Article I was talking to a friend the other day. We were discussing how we feel when we are wronged or offended. My friend said, “I forgive but I never forget. I know that’s not right but I cannot help it. That’s the way I am.” Let’s look at God’s word and see if He forgives and forgets. Starting with “The Lord’s Prayer” in Matthew 6:12 and 14, we find that if we forgive others for their transgressions, then our heavenly Father will also forgive ours. Matthew 6:15 tells us very plainly that if we do not forgive others, our heavenly Father will not forgive our transgressions. Read it for yourself! “But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins” (Matt. 6:15). Mark 11:26 says again, “But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions.” A valuable lesson is found in 2 Corinthians 2:10-11. “If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” Who wants us to dwell on the wrongs and offenses done to us and not forgive each other? Satan! He promotes dissension and evil schemes among people. He wants confusion and disharmony among God’s people. We are reminded in Ephesians 4:32 to be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven us. Colossians 2:13-14 clearly tells us that we are dead when we are in our sins or transgressions, but when the Lord forgives us all our transgressions, the certificate of debt against us is canceled and taken away. Jesus Christ’s death assures us this when we live to please Him daily by practicing righteousness. 1 John 1:9 tells us again that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I strive to imitate God’s example of forgiveness daily. “For Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon Thee” (Psalm 86:5). Now we see how forgiving our heavenly Father is. But does He forget? Let’s look at Hebrews 10:17. “And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Does God forgive and forget? Yes, indeed! So let’s imitate Him daily by forgiving and forgetting the wrongs and offenses that have been done to us, just as Jesus Christ Himself would do. “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children”—Ephesians 5:1. - How Stubborn Are We? | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search How Stubborn Are We? In the parable of the sower, the only persons who made the grade when they heard the true message of the kingdom where those whose seed was sown on good ground (Matt. 13:23). The good ground represents those with an honest and good heart (Luke 8:15). There are few people with honest and good hearts and that is why many are called and few chosen. It is also why very few find the narrow Way (Matt. 7:14). You cannot know the message of God unless you live the message by being a daily doer of good. You must put into practice the truth in order to come to the understanding of the light (John 3:21). You must be willing to do God’s Will in order to know the teaching (John 7:17). You must live the message in order to say you believe in Jesus Christ, then and only then will you never die (John 11:26). To believe in the Son is to obey the Son, and to obey the Son, you must keep His sayings and do them and perform them (John 3:36; 8:51; 12:47-48; Luke 6:46). The message of repentance is always the same. Overcome evil by doing good if you expect to abide forever (Psalm 34:13-14; 37:27; Rom. 12:21; 1 Peter 3:10; Dan. 4:27; Is. 1:16-17; Zeph. 2:3). This is just what our evil nature does not want to hear. It wants to be told the message that says do nothing and you will be saved (Titus 1:16). When you hear this message, you are warned not to harden your heart - by not living it right away. The message of serving others and doing good becomes nothing more than a good intention to the many, but those few with honest and good hearts begin immediately so their hearts do not begin to harden. A hardened criminal is one who is given every opportunity to change but doesn’t. His desire is to remain who he is and not be told what to do. What happens to those God has called, who have less than an honest and good heart? Are they doomed to be destroyed in the lake of fire? In Revelation 3:15, the Lord is disturbed by those who do not continue to worship Him with their whole heart by being zealous or hot for good works (Titus 2:14). These people had been greatly blessed by God but then became lukewarm for good works for God’s glory (Matt. 5:16). This spiritual sickness happens to many (Rev. 2:5; 3:1-2). This is also what happened to the ancient Israelites when they had the same good news preached to them (Heb. 4:2). God wishes that none should perish so he helps the disobedient to repent. God disciplines us for our own good (Heb. 12:10-11). In the very near future, He will bring many to repentance by bringing on the plagues of Revelation. He will make the sun seven times brighter or hotter to scorch men in order to force their evil natures to repent (Rev. 16:8-11). He will make hail, about 127 pounds in size, come down to get people’s attention and help them repent. A worldwide earthquake will topple all the tall buildings in all the cities of every nation (Rev. 16:18-19). Even Jerusalem will be split into three parts. However, people will continue to blaspheme God (Rev. 16:21). Everyone on this earth will wonder what’s happening? But those who serve the Lord by serving others and live to please Him in all their ways will understand clearly what’s happening. They will have been given eyes to see by God because they have been obedient to His voice—the Bible (Rev. 17:8-9). They are the ones who have come out of religious confusion, religious Babylon, and worship God with their bodies by the way they live (Rom. 12:1). They are continually helping those in need, which is pure religion, undefiled (James 1:27) The Day of the Lord is not to be taken lightly (Zeph. 1:14-18; Is. 66:15-17). God wants us to return to Him so that He can return to us (Zech. 1:3-4; 7:10-12) Notice, the message of how to repent has never changed. Good works are necessary for repentance (Acts 26:20). This is the one message that caused the people to despise the prophets of old. These prophets were sent by God Himself to instruct the people on how to repent and amend their ways, deeds and actions. You’ll never have trouble telling a boy scout to do good; however many Christians seem to have trouble with it. God has told us all along what is good and what He requires of us, but many refuse to listen (Micah 6:8) The word of God is clear that the majority of those God is calling, in the last days, will suffer greatly to be perfected by Him. All one needs to do is review these few Scriptures: Revelation 6:11; 9:15; 13:7; 14:12-13; 18:24; 20:4; and 2:10. God in His mercy will even save those who are lukewarm by testing them severely, if necessary. What a great and wonderful God we live to serve, one who cares more for us than we do for ourselves (Ezek. 33:31-33)! Hallelujah! - Christ's Simple Message | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Christ's Simple Message Christ's simple message was, "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand," (Matt. 4:17). God wants to build a new heart in you, but you must be willing to repent or change (Ezek. 18:31; 36:26; Zech. 7:9, 12). You must be willing to turn around and go another way (Matt. 13:15). You must live God's Way - the Way of peace. God's Way is not the way of evil, but the way of good. Wouldn't it be something if God said He was good but He never did any good? He wouldn't really be good then; nor would He be God, would He (Psalm 145:17)? Wouldn't it be something if someone claimed to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and didn't continually live a life of doing good as Jesus did? He really wouldn't be a disciple then, would He? God is good because He does good continually, just as a true disciple of Christ does (Acts 9:36). Yes, a true disciple of Jesus Christ is one who does deeds of kindness and charity continually, day by day. He is a "do-gooder" for God, rather than a "good-for-nothing" for Satan (3 John 11; 1 John 3:10). God wants you to imitate Him so He can form Jesus Christ's nature in you and, at the same time, crush Satan's nature in you and bring it under control (Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1; Gal. 4:19; Rom. 16:20). It's an easy and pleasant process, but it does require obedience on your part (Matt. 11:30; Acts 5:32). After all, a faith with no obedience is no faith at all (James 2:20, 22, 24, 26). The world is full of people who have no light in them because they are into so much sin. They are full of darkness. God is making people who never had light into 1,000 watt light bulbs. God wants them to practice righteousness daily for Him. He wants people to glorify Him by doing good works so their lights will begin to shine for others to see (Matt. 5:16). Granted, when you start a life of overcoming evil by continually doing good works, your light may only be 25 watts, but eventually it will increase and increase as your old nature fades. God's new nature will then begin to be formed in you, with your cooperation, of course! Be careful not to do your good works for reasons of being noticed by men. Instead, do your good works so people notice God in you (Matt. 6:1; Eph. 6:6). Do all that you do in the name of Jesus Christ, as we have been commanded (Col. 3:17). God bless you as you begin to live a life that is a blessing to others-your new life in Christ! - The Missing Key | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search The Missing Key What is the truth? We could guess and say that it represents all that is good, and that would be true. But what represents all that is good? God does. Furthermore, if God represents good, then His laws, commandments, precepts and judgments represent only what is good, because they come from God (Psalm 119:142, 30, 151). By practicing mercy and truth, your sins are forgiven. This is how you show reverence and respect to God, thereby departing from evil and living a life of love and charity (Prov. 16:6). Practicing truth, then, is how one departs from evil (Is. 59:15; John 3:21; Psalm 37:27). This “missing key” is what keeps the gospel locked. It keeps the Bible from being understood. Only when you practice the truth, will the gospel be unlocked to you (John 3:21). Jesus told the Pharisees of His day, “Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire compassion [mercy] and not [animal] sacrifice’” (Matt. 9:13). Jesus repeats this statement in Matthew 12:7, “I desire compassion [mercy] and not sacrifice.” Had the Pharisees looked into the Scriptures, they would have found Proverbs 21:3, which says: “To do righteousness and justice is desired by the Lord rather than sacrifice.” In Psalm 106:3, God’s word says: “How blessed are those who keep justice, who practice righteousness at all times.” This is God’s covenant with man, the covenant He made with Abraham that was to last for 1,000 generations. A generation is 30 years, so that’s 30,000 years (Psalm 105:8-9)! Psalm 145:17 states that God is righteous in all His Ways and kind in all His deeds. If you will practice righteousness in all your ways and be kind in all your deeds, you will be imitating God (Eph. 5:1). When you practice the truth and only show love to others, the Lord will forgive all your sins and answer all your prayers, because this is how sins are atoned for (1 Peter 4:8). Practicing righteousness and justice (mercy, compassion and love) towards all others is how you keep God’s Ways! Notice what the Lord said about Abraham in Genesis 18:19: “For I have chosen him [Abraham] in order that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the ways of the Lord [How?] by [practicing or] doing righteousness and [practicing] justice...” The Hebrew word for charity is “tzedaka.” It is derived from the root of “justice.” Practicing charity, mercy, compassion, kindness and acts of righteousness continually towards others is how a person keeps God’s Ways, and thus, lives a repentant life before God. God’s Ways are His commandments, His laws, His statutes, His precepts. They are all fulfilled when we continually practice charity towards all others by keeping God’s Ways—His works, which is the true definition of the word truth! This is how you worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). Now you can clearly understand what Jesus said in Matthew 5:16: “God in heaven is glorified [worshiped] by a life of good works and that is how a true disciple of Jesus Christ lets his light shine before others.” When you look up the word “glorify” in a dictionary, it says, “worship.” God is worshiped by a life of good works. The very word “truth” represents good works. Ephesians 2:10 says that we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Doing good works for God is how we walk in God’s love. Doing good works is walking in the truth (2 John 4). Doing good works, which is practicing the truth, is how we keep the commandments Jesus received from the Father, which will judge us in the last days (John 12:47-50). This is how we love our neighbor (anyone in need) and show love to all (2 John 5-6). This is how we abide in the teachings of Christ (2 John 9). God’s word says that if anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or even give him a greeting (2 John 10). They are all antichrist (2 John 7)! Now you know how to keep Jesus Christ’s commandments and overcome Satan and sin in your life (1 John 2:14). Just keep Jesus’ works by practicing righteousness or doing good to others daily for God (Rev. 2:26; Matt. 6:1). What you are reading in this article is literally the key to entering the kingdom of heaven. These are the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the doctrine that conforms one to a life of godliness (1 Tim. 6:3-4). Practicing the truth (doing good works of love for God) is practicing godliness (Titus 1:1). This is how to love your neighbor, which is the second greatest commandment. This is how to love your neighbor with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, just as Jesus did. It’s how you worship Him and show your love for God continually. It’s how you put on Christ, live like Christ, clothe yourself with Christ and have Christ’s nature formed in you (Gal. 4:19). It’s how you live to the Spirit and put to death the evil deeds of the flesh for God (Psalm 37:27; 1 Peter 3:10-11; Rom. 8:13). It’s how you walk in the Spirit so you will not carry out the evil desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). This is how to be led by the Spirit and be sons of God. It is how you become partakers of God’s divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). It is how we crucify the flesh with its evil passions and desires, and thus, belong to Christ (Gal. 5:24). It is how we live by the Spirit, as well as walk by the Spirit (Gal. 5:25). Practicing the truth by doing good works of love is how the gospel is unlocked and revealed to you by God (John 3:21). It is how to obey Christ and come out from under the wrath of God (John 3:36). It is how to obey Jesus Christ daily and have your sins forgiven or be covered by Christ’s blood (1 Peter 1:2). He who does God’s Will comes into the understanding of what the gospel truly says (John 7:17). God’s Will is righteousness and doing good with God’s love. The truth is Jesus’ words. The truth is God’s word, the Bible. The truth is God’s commandments. The truth is God’s law. Practicing the truth, practicing righteousness towards others daily to please the Lord, is walking in the truth. It is how one worships God. God’s word is clear; the person who will not practice righteousness for God remains of the devil (1 John 3:10). 1 Peter 4:18 says: “If it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved [the one who practices righteous good works of love towards others daily, which is practicing the truth and is God’s Will], what will become of the godless man and the sinner [those who are goats in Matthew 25:33 and 41]?” In the second chapter of James, the righteous are those who practice good works of love continually. Salvation is the inheritance of the righteous. Now you know how to be righteous before God (James 4:17). Will you be found a sheep or goat by the Lord when He returns soon? Now you know the truth so you can be found a sheep at the Lord’s return (Matt. 25:34, 40- 41). - Where Wisdom Ends and Faith Begins | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Where Wisdom Ends and Faith Begins Wisdom is the proper use of knowledge. When that knowledge is derived from philosophy or from the higher learning of man, it is termed human knowledge or philosophy. This type of wisdom is of the world and is foolishness according to the word of God (Eccl. 12:11-12). There is another wisdom, and it is from God. Just as God gives His Holy Spirit to those who obey Him, He also gives His wisdom liberally to those who ask Him (Acts 5:32; James 1:5). There is little godly wisdom in this world because God’s words lie dormant in the Bible, waiting for people to obey them. God’s wisdom is based on His laws. His laws are based on His Ways, and His Ways represent His Will. As His followers, we are to do His Will daily on this earth as it is done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). King Solomon was God’s example to the world of how much wisdom He is capable of bestowing on each of us if we will seek and obey Him by serving others for God’s glory (1 Kings 3:9-12). When we are zealously obeying the Lord by keeping His deeds and overcoming our evil side, our faith in this spiritual Way of life increases. As we grow daily in the Lord by imitating Him, our faith grows also (Eph. 5:1). Unless we become daily doers of His words, it is impossible for our faith to grow. James 2:22 says our faith is made complete by our works. A transformation begins from the inside as we continue to live to please the Lord each day on the outside. Our love for God increases, as does our faith. As we continue to serve Him by serving others, we learn to love one another from the heart (1 Thess. 4:9; 3:12). God causes the necessary growth and soon we become new creatures (1 Cor. 3:7; Gal. 6:15). When we have done everything we can do in any given situation and the trial or test continues, then our faith in God takes over. As doers of God’s word we can have full assurance that there is an answer or solution forthcoming from God (James 1:22). This full assurance comes when we live to do what is right in God’s sight on a daily basis (1 John 3:22). There will be situations when we can do nothing and we must rely solely on the Lord to come to our rescue. Our daily righteous Way of life guarantees the Lord’s response to our needs in these times of distress. Blind faith, on the other hand, is when we force a test on God by allowing something wrong to continue without doing anything about it. It is only when we do all we can according to the wisdom God gives us, and then rely on the Lord, that all will go well. Remember though, we must do our part by using God’s wisdom, instead of our own (Prov. 3:5). If we let our children do something dangerous and claim that God will protect them, we are forcing a test on God. We cannot allow our children to be in situations that could harm them mentally, physically or morally, and then expect God to protect them in that situation. This is forcing a test on God. It is not using godly wisdom, but rather the blind wisdom of this world. God’s wisdom warns those who desire to love and obey Him not to keep bad company. Evil people corrupt good morals (1 Cor. 15:33). Violence breeds violence. But there are some who continue to live by their own thoughts, apart from what God’s law book teaches. They are not living by God’s Ways, but continuing to live by their own ways and thoughts which are not good. Yet, they expect that if they have faith in God, the Lord will protect them in every situation. Not so! They are out of God’s Will so their prayers are not according to God’s Will. Faith without works is dead (James 2:26). Faith without daily obedience to God is dead. Faith without God’s wisdom is dead. Faith without doing God’s Will daily is dead. Faith without daily prayer is dead. Faith without the knowledge of God’s word is dead, so continue to study to show yourself approved to God (2 Tim. 2:15). Remember the big three. Put God first, then others, then yourself: 1. Study God’s word daily (Acts 17:11). 2. Apply it by serving others for God (Matt. 25:40). 3. Pray for others first each day, and then for your own needs (1 Peter 3:12). Study, apply and pray. This will assure the growth, the wisdom and the full assurance that the Lord will answer your prayers. Clean out the old leaven—all your ways that are not presently pleasing to God—and become a new lump, a brand new creation (1 Cor. 5:7; Gal. 6:15). When you pray, make sure that you have done your part in the best way possible. Then you will have the full assurance that your prayers will be respected by the Lord. This is where wisdom ends and faith begins. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
- Study to Show Yourself Approved | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Study to Show Yourself Approved Part of the Will of God is to study the Bible (2 Tim. 2:15). Many who study the Bible, study for information rather than correction. Disciples of Jesus Christ are admonished not to be foolish, but understand what the Will of God is (Eph. 5:17). It appears that people who claim to be His disciples today are least informed about this aspect of spiritual and godly living (Col. 1:9). God’s word says that all Scripture is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction and training in how to practice righteousness, so that the man of God may know how to do good to please God (1 John 2:29; Matt. 5:16; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). How many people have studied the life of Christ for many years, but have never started to live like Him? We are to imitate Jesus Christ and the Father by daily practicing the sayings of Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1; 3 John 11). Jesus’ words will judge all humanity at the end of the age (John 12:47-48). Just being a Bible scholar does not justify a person, but being a doer of the word does (2 Tim. 3:7; Rom. 2:13; James 1:22; Luke 6:46). Jesus Christ made Himself perfectly clear about practicing righteousness. We are to perform the Father’s Will in our daily lives, as it is done in heaven (1 John 2:17; John 7:17; Matt. 6:10). Jesus says to do as He says, keep His word, walk in His commandments and act upon His sayings (Luke 8:21; 11:28; 6:47-48; 2 John 6; Matt. 7:24). The central teaching of the Bible is to engage in a life of good deeds, endure and not become weary in well-doing, and overcome our evil natures by doing good deeds (Titus 3:8; 2 Thess. 3:13; Heb. 10:36; Gal. 6:9; Rom. 2:7; 12:21; 6:18-19). If this is the kind of peculiar people Christ is making for Himself—and He is—we should then be studying the Bible to train ourselves in righteousness (Titus 2:14). As we keep the sayings of Jesus Christ and study to show ourselves approved to God, we will always be ready with the right answer, and ready to lead many to righteousness (Matt. 5:19; 1 Peter 3:15; Dan. 12:3). - Belief and Faith | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Belief and Faith Do you believe? Do you have faith? Do you know what these words mean in Greek and Hebrew? Do you know they have different meanings in the English language than they do in the Greek and Hebrew? Using Strong's Concordance, an indispensable resource for anyone who desires to know and understand the Bible, look up the word "believeth" as found in John 3:16 (King James Version). Notice on the far right there is a number, 4100. Because John 3:16 is from the New Testament, turn to the Greek dictionary which is found in the rear of the concordance. Turn to the number 4100 to find what the word "believe" means in Greek. Here we find that "believe" comes from the Greek word pisteuo. It refers us to 4102, pistis, for a more complete explanation. We find that the word "believe" means to be faithful, have conviction, have faith, and to have fidelity. Then it refers us to 3982, peitho, for a full understanding and explanation. When we turn there, we find that the word "believe" means obey, yield and trust (King James Version Concordance). In John 11:26, the words "lives and believes" are used in the same sentence by our Lord Jesus Christ. So now we know that the word believe means to obey, yield, trust, have faith in, have fidelity, and to live the godly life. Now we look up the word "faith" in Strong’s Concordance, and find with amazement that the far right column tells us to go right back to 4102, pistis, in the Greek dictionary. That’s the same place we just came from after looking up the word believe. What is so shocking about this? Turn to John 6:28-29. The people said to Jesus Christ, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?" They were simply asking Jesus what works they could do that would be pleasing to God. Jesus replied by saying, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent." This is a parable, as Jesus always spoke to the people and answered them by way of parables (Mark 4:33-34; Matt. 13:35). Jesus was saying to them, "This is the work of God, that you obey Me, keep My words, do them, and act on them" (John 8:51; 12:47-48; Matt. 7:24). Jesus made it very clear in Luke 8:21 that anyone who considers himself to be a follower of His, will hear the word of God and do it. It is only the person who becomes an effectual doer of the word who will be blessed in whatever he does (James 1:25). Those who do not do, or do not know what to do, are not saved, but remain deluded. You must prove yourself a doer of the word (James 1:22). You must bear much fruit, which is good works, and thus prove to be Jesus Christ's disciple (Col. 1:10; John 15:8). That is what real belief and real faith are all about. - Ready Set Go! | Bible Studies
wholewheatonline.com Search Ready Set Go! If you are doing God's Will on this earth, as it is being done in heaven, then the Lord has something special to say to you: Remember what you have received and heard. Keep it, obey it and repent, by putting My words into practice. If you will not wake up and repent, I will come like a thief and you will not know at what hour I will come to you (Rev. 3:3 NASB & AMP). Yes, God is talking to all of us who are overcoming our evil natures by keeping Jesus Christ’s deeds. He is reminding His followers to practice the deeds He did as an example, and to endure until He returns (Rev. 2:26). If we who are His true servants zealously continue to practice being servants of others until God’s Will begins to come from our hearts, we will all be ready (Matt. 5:20; Eph. 6:6). True followers of Jesus Christ are continually admonished not to become weary in a life of doing good (2 Thess. 3:13). We are to pray always that we will be found worthy to escape all those things which are shortly coming upon this world. We are to pray that we will be counted worthy to survive and stand before Jesus Christ physically when He returns (Luke 21:36). These are solemn warnings to believers which should be heeded. Many people will wait until what they feel is the last minute. Then they plan to live for God by being a servant to others. They feel they’re too busy to take Jesus Christ’s words seriously and take action in their lives now. As a result, that day will come upon them as a trap and it will be too late (Luke 21:34). I feel those who perished in the time of Noah had this very same attitude, don’t you? We know that Jesus will return to take His people to a place of safety. He will come suddenly, like a thief, so we need to prepare to be ready—all set to go. How can we be ready? 1. We should continually live the repentant life by being servants of others (Matt. 23:11). 2. We must study God’s word daily, looking for Scriptures that pertain to the righteous, and then fulfill those Scriptures within our lives. Some examples are Luke 14:13; 6:35; James 2:14-16 and Luke 3:10-14. 3. We are to pray for others always and for our own needs also (1 Thess. 5:17). 4. We should commit everything to God, from brushing our teeth for God first thing in the morning to our prayers just before we retire (Col. 3:17). 5. We should keep the Lord always on our minds, and keep our thoughts and deeds pleasing to Him in all respects (Phil. 4:8; Isa. 26:3). Zealous, wholehearted, steadfast, persevering—these words describe a true disciple who is totally committed to God. They describe one who has an honest and good heart. This type of person is bearing godly fruit. He is building godly righteous character that not only has promise for this life, but also the life to come (Luke 8:15; Rev. 3:10; Col. 1:10; 1 Cor. 9:24-27; 1 Tim. 4:8; 2 Tim. 2:5-6). Remember always, winners never quit and quitters never win. Let’s be all ready and set to go, so that when the Lord comes as a thief, we will be ready—set to go with Him.` PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME All About the Bible PDF © 2025 Whole Wheat International
