  • Integrity | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Integrity Integrity is uncompromising adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty; the state of being whole or entire; a sound, unimpaired condition, Webster’s Dictionary says. In simpler language: Someone who has good values and knows right from wrong, lives by those values and does not give in to wrong when tempted has integrity. Integrity, then, is what good character is all about. Without integrity, a nation perishes. Without integrity, the prisons overflow. Without integrity, the laws of the land become unjust. The simple are entrapped by a word (Is. 29:21). Lawyers and judges take bribes, which they call considerations (Micah 7:3). Politicians take bribes, which they call consulting fees (Ex. 23:8; Deut. 16:19; 1 Sam. 8:3). Radio stations take payola, which is just a more respectable name for bribes (Prov. 17:8). Today, prostitutes are called escorts (Ezek. 23:19). Criminals are called unfortunate. And in witchcraft, mediums are now called channelers (Lev. 19:31; Isa.19:3; Isa. 8:19). God says, “I am the Lord, who teaches you how to live the profitable Way and who teaches you in the Way you should live” (Is. 48:17). It is God who teaches man knowledge (Psalm 94:10). Then it stands to reason, it is not good to ignore God’s word daily, is it? The amount of integrity you have determines whether you will be successful in this life or be most miserable (Prov. 10:9; Job 8:20; Ps. 15:2). Integrity, or the lack of it, determines how you feel about yourself on a daily basis. Is your self-worth high? You have integrity. Is your self-worth low? You have a lack of integrity. It’s just that simple. What if Jesus Christ had no integrity? He couldn’t be our Savior. Many do not realize that Jesus came to save you from your worst enemy—yourself. He came to bless you by showing you His easy Way so you could turn from your wicked ways and be blessed (Acts 3:26). The word “turn” means to repent, cease to live your way and begin to live God’s Way. Hence, cease to do evil; learn to do good (Is. 1:16-17; Titus 3:14). The Lord wants you to keep His Ways, called in one Scripture the “ancient paths” (Jer. 6:16). He says you will find “rest for your souls.” Compare this Scripture with what Jesus said to those who would follow Him in Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to Me, all you who are heavy laden [with sins and troubles] and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you [live My Way of life], and learn from Me. I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy [My Way of life is easy and it is not hard] and My burden is light.” The Father told Jesus His Ways. Jesus then was commanded to tell others about God’s Ways. Jesus kept God’s Ways and showed us, by His example, how we are to keep God’s Ways. Jesus was prophesied anciently to come and tell us God’s Ways so we could repent (Deut. 18:18-19). Jesus Himself fulfilled that prophecy in John 12:47-50. The prophecy in Deuteronomy is repeated in Acts 3:22-23, in its full severity. So then, if a person is going to keep God’s Ways, he must imitate the Way God lives and talks (Eph. 5:1; 1 Peter 4:11). This takes disciplining yourself for the purpose of godliness (1 Tim. 4:7; Titus 1:1). This is the true gospel of Jesus Christ (1 Tim. 6:3). Disciplining yourself for godliness not only builds godly integrity in this life and insures you success in all that you put your hand to do, but also builds the kind of godly character that will be required for living in the kingdom of God that is coming to this earth very shortly. What is desired by the Lord in a man is kindness. Kindness is thoughtfulness, being considerate and living charitably (Prov. 3:3; 19:22; Hosea 4:1; 12:6; Micah 6:8). If a person was kind in all his ways and all his deeds towards others, he would be only living to do good. This is how Jesus lived and this is how He commands us to live. God will not reject a man of integrity (Job 8:20; Psalm 7:8; 25:21; 26:1-11). Integrity is what life is all about. You are born into this world. You may have had godly parents who brought you up in the Ways of the Lord. They taught you what was wrong and what was right—according to what God’s word said (Prov. 3:12). God’s word says that correction and discipline are a way of life (Prov. 6:23). A wise son accepts his father’s discipline (Prov. 13:1). A righteous man who walks in his integrity: how blessed are his sons after him (Prov. 20:7). It is by his deeds that a young person tells the world who he really is—if his conduct is pure and right (Prov. 20:11). Your parents, if they were good parents, taught you wrong from right and disciplined you diligently, because they knew they had to do their part to help build integrity in you or you wouldn’t have any (Ps. 25:21; Ps. 26:1). You would follow the wrong example of behavior instead of being the right example of behavior for others to follow. Good things happen to good kids. Bad things happen to bad kids. The same is true for adults. Many parents have not trained their children in the way they should go, and you can see the results today (1 John 3:10). God knew many parents would be failures in the last days. So, God has designed an easy way for you to build godly character and integrity, in spite of who your parents were and in spite of what you are today. Overcome evil simply by doing good for God each day if you want to live forever (Psalm 37:27). Continually do things that are pleasing in God’s sight and your prayers will be heard (1 John 3:22). Doing good for God not only shows Him respect daily, but it is also doing God’s Will (John 9:31). It is how God is glorified (Matt. 5:16). It is how He is worshiped (Rom. 12:1-2; 6:13, 19). Brush your teeth for God. Take a bath for God. Clean your place for God. Wear nice clothes for God. Men, keep your hair trimmed (like a man’s) for God (1 Cor. 11:14; Ezek. 44:20). If you do everything you do for God, you are committing all your ways to the Lord and are pleasing in His sight (Col. 3:17). Notice things you cannot do for God because they are not pleasing to Him and will hurt you: Use God’s name as a swear word for God. Read dirty books or see dirty movies for God. Break the speed limit for God. Disobey the law for God. Do what is wrong for God. Seems ridiculous, doesn’t it? But it is exactly what many do, isn’t it? Many people live ridiculous lives, don’t they? They deserve to be cursed, don’t they? They are bringing it on themselves, aren’t they? Every time you sin or do something wrong, it’s like hitting yourself in the face. Worst of all, it’s like hitting your Creator God in the face. It’s like slapping your parents in the face. Remember always, if you do not care about God, He doesn’t care about you. If you ignore Him, He will ignore you (1 Chron. 28:9). If you live for Him, to please Him, He will live for you and please you. It’s that simple. God is not stupid; but we are, if we do not obey Him (Gal. 6:7). He created man to seek Him, find Him and obey Him. He only wants what’s good for you. He wants you to desire that for yourself. He will help you, guide you, forgive you and give you His Holy Spirit to overcome with, if you just ask Him (Luke 11:13). If you will obey Him, keep Jesus’ words or deeds and overcome so He can bless you, He will give you His Spirit (Acts 5:32). Who can stop you from doing good for God except the devil (James 4:7)? You must resist him daily by doing good for God, and in the process, build godly character and integrity that will endure forever. The next move is yours. This is why God gave you free will—so He could make a determination (Mal. 3:18; Matt. 25:41)! • Will You Heed the Call? | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Will You Heed the Call? The call is going out and the sheep are hearing the call. The sheep are coming from all parts of the earth. The sheep are those who seek the Lord, or the truth, and they are finding the truth and the Lord (Matt. 7:7). The Lord is gathering His sheep from various walks of life and from various faiths and religions of man. The call is for holiness, for without holiness no one will see the Lord (Heb. 12:14 King James Version). The call is for repentance which consists of righteousness that comes from the heart—a changed life, a new heart and a new mind (2 Cor. 13:9, 11). The Lord is making more servants of others, as He Himself serves others continually. He wants to know who will care, who will change and who will endure. The Lord must sort out those who will be righteous and those who will remain wicked. The wicked must be marked for destruction and the righteous for eternal life (John 5:29). Never before has there been a determination like this made throughout the world. The Lord is preparing His soon-coming society where only righteousness will dwell, where only people who are righteous will dwell (Rev. 21:2, 4, 27). Jesus Christ was an overcomer. There are very few who know this fact (John 16:33; Rev. 3:21; 5:5). He commands us to overcome our evil natures just as He did! He said His Way, which He came to show, us is very easy and very pleasant (1 John 5:3). Simply do good! We are to purify our souls by being obedient to God’s truth and fervently love one another from our hearts. We are not to complain against one another (1 Peter 1:22; James 5:9). Jesus is calling His sheep to hear His true gospel—the one and only gospel that He taught to His disciples almost 2,000 years ago (Eph. 4:5). This is the gospel of the doctrine that conforms one to godliness. If a minister does not continually preach about this doctrine that conforms one to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing (1 Tim. 6:3-4). This is a message of personal, godly discipline. It is a message on how to imitate God and discipline ourselves for the purpose of godliness (Eph. 5:1; 1 Tim. 4:7; Titus 1:1). It is a message on being a servant to others in a righteous, kind, courteous, and charitable way through deeds done in love. It is a message of God’s good works done in the Spirit, replacing the evil works of the flesh. It is a life of joyful striving, persevering, forcing ourselves to do the right thing, and resisting Satan and the pulls of the flesh (James 4:7; Luke 16:16). It is a life of purpose, a life of triumph, a life of hope and a life of peace. It is a life of trials that God puts us through so He can build His character in us, and so we can have Jesus Christ’s nature formed in us (Gal. 4:19). It’s a life that we accept as a newly sworn-in soldier of the Lord. We no longer need to be concerned with the affairs of the world, but only with what our Commander in Chief, our Lord Jesus Christ, has to say. We live to please the Lord now and no longer live to please the flesh. We are now working full-time for the Lord, helping Him with the harvest of all those who have been chosen to have their day of salvation in this end time harvest of saints. When the Lord calls you, it is a holy calling—the greatest of all gifts from God. He is calling you so He can bless you. He is calling you so He can change you. He is calling you so you will be His friend. He is calling you so He can use you to call others in the future when you are ready (1 Tim. 4:14-16). “Blessed is the man who perseveres in doing good under trial, like Jesus did, for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life [eternal life], which the Lord has promised to those who love Him” (James 1:12). Jesus learned obedience from the Father. He learned obedience by continually doing the Father’s Will on earth as it is being done by God in heaven (Matt. 6:10). By suffering for doing good, He eventually became perfect (Heb. 5:8-9). We must be tested too. We too must suffer. We must also be salted by fire. That’s what being baptized with the Holy Spirit and fire is all about (Matt. 3:11). Anyone who will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. Everyone who lives for God by imitating Jesus Christ will be persecuted like Jesus was. That’s part of the salvation package (2 Tim. 3:12). If those who overcome will not be hurt in the second death, then we must all overcome to receive eternal life (Rev. 2:11). Today, there is very little emphasis on the subject of overcoming. This is because it does not fit into the framework of the social gospel that is being preached today. The watered down, incomplete gospel that is found in little “Bible tracts” is a man-made gospel, an incomplete gospel that could save no one (Mark 7:6-8). Jesus shouted to the people, “Repent, or you will perish” (Luke 13:3, 5). Change from your evil way of life, or you will perish. Keep God’s Ways and walk in them, or you will perish. Keep My sayings, or you will perish. Do God’s Will on earth like I did, or you will perish. The “Bible tracts” claim that all you need to do is say the sinner’s prayer and invite Jesus into your heart. Accept the atoning blood and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and you are saved. Find one example where Jesus or the apostles ever said to anyone that this was the gospel truth. Find one instance where Jesus instructed His disciples to say that. If Christ did not say it or teach it, isn’t it antichrist doctrine? He is calling you to save you and to spare you from what’s soon to come upon the world to test those who dwell on the earth (Rev. 3:10). He is calling you to give you a crown and to make you a world leader (2 Tim. 4:8; Rev. 5:10). He has chosen you to give you the opportunity to rule the nations of this earth with Him (Rev. 2:26-27). As it has been written, Jesus must reign. His job is to put all His enemies under His feet (1 Cor. 15:25). Then the nations will no longer train for war or go to war against one another. Jesus will enforce a lasting peace on earth (Micah 4:1-3; Is. 2:1-4). Will you heed the call? Will you fight the good fight? Will you be at the wedding supper of Christ (Rev. 19:8-9)? Those who have accepted the call will be praying for you. Study God’s word daily (2 Tim. 2:15 KJV). Practice God’s word daily in your life of true, continual prayer (1 Thess. 5:17). When you commit all your ways to the Lord, He will do the rest for you (Psalm 37:3-5). • "You have to go to church" | WHOLE WHEAT

"You have to go to church" MISCONCEPTION: You must go to church. Yet there are 30,000 different churches teaching differing doctrines. That’s religious confusion. That’s Babylon! THE TRUTH IS: Christ is the church and the body of believers who live like Jesus Christ gave them example to live are that church. They are overcoming their evil natures like Jesus gave them example to do. Shocking as it may seem, Jesus came to start a spiritual church. Everyone who belongs to that spiritual church must live a spiritual life for Jesus every day by overcoming like Jesus Christ their example told them to do (Rev. 3:21). Jesus Christ’s body is the church and that body is now spiritual so the gates of hell cannot prevail against it (Col. 1:24; Matt. 16:18). Jesus is the Rock on which the true church was founded. Peter’s name only meant pebble or small stone in Matthew 16:18 (see margin). Remember always, Jesus is the Rock. Peter is the pebble. • Seek the Kingdom First | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Seek the Kingdom First How do we seek the kingdom first, as commanded in Matthew 6:33? Isn’t seeking the kingdom entering the kingdom? Isn’t the whole message of the kingdom of God centered around receiving a new nature, having Christ formed in you, becoming a new creature or creation and being made complete? Doesn’t it involve resting from all your works of the flesh by living to the Spirit, which is God? Doesn’t entering the kingdom require putting to death the wicked desires of the flesh by becoming involved in doing good for God on a daily basis (Luke 17:21; Gal. 4:19; 5:16; Heb. 4:10-11)? Part of seeking the kingdom first is seeking Christ’s righteousness. It is living a righteous life for God just as Christ lived. Jesus was our example of how to do good works for the glory of the Father. How, then, do we seek the kingdom first in our personal lives? If we are going to enter the kingdom of God we are going to have to know our Bibles and what the Will of God is. To do this we are going to have to make room for regular Bible study in our daily lives. Jesus is the bread of life and His word is our daily spiritual bread (Matt. 6:10). In order to commit all our ways and thoughts to God, as well as receive things from God, we have to learn how to pray every day. In fact, we must learn how to be constantly in prayer, talking to God all day long, as we go about living for Him (1 Thess. 5:17). We are going to have to get involved with a life of good works and build from there. We are commanded to love one another and love our neighbor (John 13:34-35). We need to learn how to put our nature to death by disciplining ourselves according to godliness (1 Tim. 4:7). We need to fulfill God’s Will in our daily lives. We must provoke others to love and good works, pray for others and serve others (Heb. 10:24). This is how we are examples of God’s love. Putting God first is being willing to cancel our own plans. Putting God first is visiting someone in the hospital today, rather than golfing or shopping, like we may have previously planned. We shouldn’t plan things that we can’t change for God. You are going to have to use wisdom, and lots of it, so ask God for it (James 1:5). He has been waiting, possibly, quite awhile for your request. Do not trust in your own abilities to do things in your own personal body strength or your own wisdom. Depend upon God for everything. Everything! Yes, everything! The true circumcision, true faith or true disciples worship in the Spirit of God for Jesus Christ’s glory and put no confidence in the flesh (Phil. 3:3). As an example, consider your old life and how you were up to your nose, so to speak, in doing your own thing. All of a sudden, the death of a loved one interrupts your plans and you must cancel out many things you had previously planned, to take care of the funeral. First things first; you are now doing the things that you have to do, so that you can get back to the life of doing what you want to do, which is your own thing. Now that you have repented of doing your own thing and have agreed to do God’s thing daily, which is His Will, you have just agreed to put your own will last. That’s what it means when the word of God says, let no one seek his own good first, but put his neighbor first (1 Cor. 10:24; Phil. 2:3). You are to put the other person’s good or welfare first. Even Christ, our example, did not live to please Himself but to serve others (Rom. 15:2-3). Can you imagine a society in which everyone was putting their neighbor’s welfare first? In order to do this, you would have to be giving and loving and patient and considerate, for love does no wrong to a neighbor (Rom. 13:10). If we want to seek the kingdom first, then we must learn to put God first, Bible study first, serving first, giving first, and our own personal interest last (Phil. 2:3-5). If the greatest in the kingdom is going to be the servant of the most, then we must desire to be the servant of the most so that we can receive the character of that kind of person (Matt. 23:11). That is what serving God with all your heart and all your soul and all your strength and all your might is all about, isn’t it (Deut. 6:5)? • How to Receive Answered Prayer | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Receive Answered Prayer One of the many blessings that comes from living the new life in Christ is answered prayer (Rom. 6:4). Because we live only to please God every day by performing God’s Will in our lives, we assure our hearts before God and we can ask in prayer without doubting (John 9:31; 1 John 3:18-19; James 1:6). We know He considers us righteous because we practice righteousness for God (1 John 3:7). And we know He hears the prayers of the righteous (1 Peter 3:12; Prov. 15:29). We practice living as Jesus Christ lived and as the Father lives by keeping the sayings of Christ (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1; John 12:47; Luke 8:21). We also control our thoughts and the words we speak so that they are pleasing to God (1 Peter 4:11). But most of all, we use the members of our bodies as instruments of righteousness (Rom. 6:13; 1 Peter 3:11-12). We practice righteousness constantly to please God and to produce good fruits for Him (1 John 2:29; 3:10; John 15:8). The good fruits we produce on our spiritual trees are good works (Col. 1:10; Matt. 3:10; 7:17-20; Phil. 1:11). By conforming to godliness and by practicing righteousness, we allow God the Father to reveal His Son Jesus Christ in us (John 14:23; Gal. 1:16; 4:19). Keeping the commandments of Jesus Christ is not grievous, but very enjoyable (1 John 5:3; Matt. 11:30). It is the peaceful way that God created us to live (Jer. 10:23; Prov. 16:3; 20:24; Heb. 10:20, 24). We are at peace with ourselves because we are at peace with our Maker (John 17:13; 2 Thess. 3:16; Phil. 4:7). All we must do now is endure to the end (Matt. 10:22; 24:13; Rev. 2:26). We must remain loyal to God by remaining diligent and continuing to persevere in righteousness (Luke 21:19; Rev. 2:2-3, 19; Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13; Heb. 12:3). We have a purpose in life. We have found that purpose. We now know how to please God and complete our purpose by conforming our lives to His Way of life (1 Tim. 4:7; 6:3). Because we are seeking to please God in all our ways, we are abundantly blessed and our prayers are answered (Matt. 6:33; John 10:10; Mal. 3:10). Coming Under God's Protection When you please God, He protects you from your enemies and even makes them be at peace with you. Jesus told you not to fear men or what they can do to the body. Instead, you are to fear God, who has the power to kill both the body and the soul. Yes, God can destroy the soul of a man! When you obey God by walking the holy Way He walks, you are doing the Will of God on this earth daily as it is being done in heaven. When you obey God, you become eligible for all the benefits that come from serving the Creator of heaven and earth. God protects you in famine and war, from violence, wild beasts and theft. He gives you long life and healthy children. The Lord will protect you from all evil and sickness if you are keeping His Ways. You do this by practicing righteousness and honesty in all your dealings with man, just as Abraham did. God will protect you if you learn and practice what pleases Him and bring up your children in the Ways of the Lord. When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7 Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them. Psalm 34:7 The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. Psalm 121:7 For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him. • Repent to Believe the Gospel | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Repent to Believe the Gospel Who would ever expect to read in God’s word that you must repent in order to believe the gospel? We all know that obeying what the gospel says is repentance (Mark 1:15). Then there must be some Scriptures that would be hard to accept when we read them in God’s word. We would reject them in our spirits. What are some of these hard to accept Scriptures? In 3 John 11, God’s word states that only the one who does good is of God. How about people who don’t do good? Yes, you cannot say you are a true follower of Jesus Christ, unless you are continually doing good each day towards others like Jesus gave us examples to do. This affects a lot of people today who say they are saved, but who are not. Many people today exclaim they are born again—washed by the blood of Jesus. In order for this to be true, they would not only have to know the truth, but practice that truth daily in their lives (John 3:21; 1 John 1:6). That truth is keeping Jesus’ deeds in our lives daily (which is called “the light”) and daily imitating the Way He came to show us how to live. This is how to have the blood of Jesus Christ cover our sins (1 John 1:7). God’s word is emphatic when it says you must practice righteousness to be born of God (1 John 2:29 New American Standard Version). Obedience to Jesus daily is required for the forgiveness of sins—so says God’s word that cannot lie (1 Peter 1:2). How many people today say, “Lord, Lord!,” yet they are not doing what Jesus told them to do (Luke 6:46)? They are not overcoming the evil in their lives by continually doing good for God each day (1 Peter 3:10-11; Psalm 37:27; Matt. 5:16). How many people realize that using our bodies as instruments of righteousness each day is NOW our spiritual service of worship to God (Rom. 12:1-2; Rom. 6:13). Jesus is constantly giving examples in His word to those who are worshiping Him in the wrong way. They profess to know God, but by their daily works or deeds they deny Him. They are not overcoming evil by doing good for God each day. They are still living detestable and disobedient lives before God each day. Why? They are not doing good as Jesus said they should (Titus 1:16). They are still living lawless lives, sinful lives before God because those who teach them are telling them that they need not do anything to receive salvation—it is a free gift. This is only half-truth, just like the half-truths Satan used to tempt Jesus with (Eph. 2:8-9; Matt. 4:1-10). It’s as simple as this. God is calling people out of a life of lawlessness into a life of righteousness. If you are not living that life of righteousness, you are still living a life of lawlessness (1 John 3:4). Sin is lawlessness, so those who live lawless lives have not yet repented. Noah and all the true prophets of God, including Jesus and His disciples, preached that a life of righteousness is required daily by God for repentance. They knew that eternal life was a free gift of God but you must be found worthy to be given that gift (Luke 20:35 NASV;2 Thess. 1:5). What makes you worthy for the resurrection of eternal life is a life of good works or good deeds. Jesus said so Himself in John 5:28-29. We were created for good works (Eph. 2:10). So then, those who preach the incomplete truth of Ephesians 2:8-9 without explaining verse 10 in detail are preaching lawlessness. And that’s exactly what the ministers were doing whom Jesus gave as an example in Matthew 7:22-23. They were preaching lawlessness because they were not preaching that we must do righteousness each day to please the Lord, and we are to overcome evil by continually doing good like Dorcas (Acts 9:36). Instead, their disciples are described in Titus 1:16. In Matthew 7:13 it says that this is the broad way that leads to destruction, which many are following today because they are not being told how to repent. Repentance is a daily life of righteousness and good works done for God’s glory—called the Way of righteousness (Matt. 21:32; 2 Peter 2:21). How can you imitate God unless you keep Jesus’ words or sayings (John 8:51; Eph. 5:1)? How can you keep Christ’s words or sayings unless you do the works or deeds of Jesus in your daily life and overcome the evil in your life (John 14:12; Rev. 2:26; 3:21)? Jesus said, “Repent and believe the gospel or you will perish” (Mark 1:15; Luke 13:3, 5; Heb. 10:24)! • Understanding the Fear of the Lord | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Understanding the Fear of the Lord If all peoples of the world had a fear of the Lord, then all peoples of the world would be converted or reconciled to God. There would then be one faith, one baptism, and one Lord (Eph. 4:5). There would be no more war because there would be so much love, respect and concern for the welfare and needs of others (Phil. 2:3). What is the fear of the Lord? The Bible says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Prov. 9:10). A better word than fear would be reverence. How do we show reverence for God? The dictionary says we revere God when we show honor and profound respect for Him because of His position. How do we show honor or respect for the one who created us? God’s word says we glorify Him with good works. We let our lights - good works - shine before men in such a way that God is glorified (Matt. 5:16). How do we do that? We walk in God’s Ways by imitating Jesus Christ, His Son (1 Cor. 11:1). We keep His words and practice His sayings (Matt. 7:24; Luke 8:21; 11:28; John 8:51; 11:26; 12:47). Jesus is our example of how to walk in God’s Ways by doing good works. So are John the Baptist, James, John and Paul (Matt. 25:33-40; Luke 3:10-14; 6:33-34; James 2:14-18; Acts 26:20; Titus 3:8; 1 John 3:10, 18-19). Jesus Christ is making a peculiar people who are zealous for good works (Titus 2:14). We were created in Him to do good works (Eph. 2:10). We are to learn to be servants of the most if we hope to be called great in the kingdom (Matt. 20:26-28; 23:11; Phil. 2:3-5; Mark 9:35; 10:43-45). We are to imitate Jesus Christ and the Father (1 John 2:6; Eph. 5:1). We are to walk in the truth and keep the commandments by practicing righteousness daily to please God (2 John 4, 6; 1 John 3:7). It is not hard, but easy and pleasant (1 John 5:3; Matt. 11:30). Practicing righteousness is how we worship God in our bodies. It is our spiritual service of worship (Rom. 12:1). We are to worship God in spirit and in truth by practicing the truth (John 4:23-24; 3:21). We practice the truth when we present our bodies as instruments of righteousness and when we overcome evil by doing good for God daily (Rom. 6:13; 12:21). This is the one and only way to revere or fear the Lord our God. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International

wholewheatonline.com Search A Life Free From Fear When you please God, He protects you from your enemies and even makes them be at peace with you (2 Sam. 22:18; Psalm 18:3, 17; Prov. 16:7). Jesus told you not to fear men or what they can do to the body. Instead, you are to fear God, who has the power to kill both the body and the soul (Matt. 10:28). Yes, God can destroy the soul of a man! When you obey God by walking the holy Way He walks, you are doing the Will of God on this earth daily as it is being done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). When you obey God, you become eligible for all the benefits that come from serving the Creator of heaven and earth. God protects you in famine and war, from violence, wild beasts and theft (Job 5:20-27; Psalm 10:5; 91:7; 34:7; 33:19; Prov. 3:25-26). He gives you long life and healthy children. The Lord will protect you from all evil and sickness if you are keeping His Ways (Psalm 121:7; 91:3; 103:3). You do this by practicing righteousness and honesty in all your dealings with man, just as Abraham did (Gen. 18:19). God will protect you if you learn and practice what pleases Him and bring up your children in the Ways of the Lord (Eph. 5:10; 6:4; Col. 3:20). God has told you in His word what is good and how to love Him (Micah 6:8; Zech. 7:9-10; Matt. 25:33-40; Prov. 8:17). You seek God by doing good for Him (Psalm 14:1-3; 1 Peter 3:11). Doing good for God is how you please Him and how you serve Him. You please your heavenly Father in the same way that you would please your earthly father - by doing everything you can to obey and please Him. Just get busy serving Him by serving others in kindness and charity. You are walking in the commandments and fulfilling the royal law when you practice righteousness toward your fellow man daily to please God (2 John 6; 1 John 3:7; James 2:8). The Law is not made for the righteous, but for sinners, because the righteous are already abiding by its principles (1 Tim. 1:8-10). When you practice righteousness daily by not swearing and lying, you are living according to the Law (Col. 3:8-9; Prov. 8:13). You are using your body as an instrument of righteousness (Rom. 6:12-13, 19). You are putting to death the deeds of the body by doing good for God, and you are no longer carrying out the desires of the flesh (Rom. 8:12-13; Gal. 5:16, 19-21). Then, you are no longer under the Law but under grace (Gal. 5:18; Rom. 6:14). Then, and only then, can you have a life free from fear and guilt - a life filled with God’s peace which surpasses all comprehension (Phil. 4:7). • What is the Bible? | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search What is the Bible? To best understand what the Bible is, let’s first consider what the Bible is not. The Bible is not an ancient collection of myths or stories or something to put on your coffee table with pressed flowers or a four-leaf clover in it. The Bible is not a book to be ignored, because we will all be judged by the words that are in it (John 12:47-50). The Bible is, however, a spiritual book of writings by men who were moved by the Spirit of God (2 Peter 1:20-21). The Bible is the living word of God. We are to live by every word of the Bible (Matt. 4:4). It is a book telling us how to obtain eternal life. It contains the answers to all the mysteries of life. The Bible contains the directions on how to enter the kingdom of God, be converted on the inside, and thus, have the peace that surpasses all human comprehension (Matt. 5:20; 7:21; Phil. 4:7). The Bible tells of all the blessings we will receive for obeying it and all the curses we will receive for ignoring it. The Bible tells us who we are and how to overcome our evil natures. The Bible tells us how we can please God, and what God will do for us when we please Him. If we ignore God’s word by not studying it daily, we are ignoring God (Acts 17:11). God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, in the weakness of the flesh to show us how easy it is to please the Father and to be rewarded with the free gift of eternal life (Phil. 2:7). Jesus was the living word of God, which means He lived by the words of God. We are to live by every word of God so we can be living words of God also. The Bible tells us not to be foolish, but to understand what God wants us to do, and then do it (Eph. 5:17)! Jesus said His Way is very easy and pleasant, and some of us will do greater works than He did (Matt. 11:30; John 14:12). The Bible says we are foolish if we think works are not necessary for repentance (James 2:20; Acts 26:20). We must study God’s word to show that we love God (2 Tim. 2:15, King James Version). We need to engage in acts of righteousness for repentance (Titus 2:7; 3:8). Remember, if the righteous are saved with difficulty, what will happen to the person who continues to live to the flesh and not to the Spirit (God) (1 Peter 4:18; Rom. 8:13)? Only those who seek God by pleasing Him will find Him. Start today, and you will be on your way. Be a godly example to others for God; be ready at all times to explain the truth to them in love by knowing the Scriptures well (1 Peter 3:15). This is what the Bible truly is for; to learn God’s Will, apply it in our daily lives, and then share it with others. • Don't Let Your Marriage Collapse | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Don't Let Your Marriage Collapse “The honeymoon is over,” is an American expression used when there is trouble in the marriage. In years past, there was a thing called courtship. This is when a man would woo a woman with flowers, perfume, candy and other continual acts of kindness. He would show to her by his continual actions that he was kind, generous, outgoing and a lovable type of person. Today, courtship has become living together, fornicating and using one another for self-gratification. Yes, people have turned what was designed by God to be beautiful into a nightmare of continual sin. How far removed we are from what was intended for our own good by a loving Creator. The true definition of love is continual, unselfish, outgoing concern for another (Phil. 2:3). Love is an action word. It is serving one another, doing things for one another, not just on birthdays and anniversaries, but continually. In many cases, if a husband would start buying love gifts and fresh flowers for his wife on a regular basis, she might think he was up to something. When she saw, however, that he meant it because he was consistent and it was coming from his heart, the honeymoon would begin again. Try following the example in the song which says, “I give to you and you give to me, true love, true love.” Yes, we can sing about it in a song, but until we put it into action, there will be no results. Selfishness is sin. The love of money is selfishness. Selfishness is the root of all evil. The deeds of our flesh are repeated over and over in God’s word. They include immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, jealousy, strife, outbursts of anger, disputes, etc. These things all stem from selfishness. Those who continue to practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God (Gal. 5:19-21; Matt. 15:19; Mark 7:21-23; 1 Cor. 6:9-10; Eph. 5:5-6; 2 Tim. 3:1-5). Often the very people who practice these things are churchgoers, “holding to a form of godliness,” yet not living by every word of God - refusing to recognize their sinful ways or repent of them (Matt. 4:4; Jude 15-16; Romans 1:29-32; Mal. 3:5; Rev. 21:8; Rev. 16:9-11; Rev. 9:20-21). Read these Scriptures and recognize these sins in yourself, then begin a life of repentance immediately. Begin a life of loving, giving, sharing and caring. Show compassion, kindness and forgiveness, first to your mate, and then to all others for the rest of your life. This is how you imitate God (Eph. 5:1; 1 Peter 4:1). If wives are to win their disobedient husbands to the Lord by their actions, without a word, how much more should a husband do the same (1 Peter 3:1)! It’s time for us to grow up and repent or we will all perish (Luke 13:3, 5). Jesus always means what He says (Ezek. 7:9; Jer. 4:22; 8:6; 9:9; 16:12; 17:9-10; Jer. 25:4-5; 26:13; Mal. 3:6). The Lord wants you to live happily by daily practicing what is right in His sight. When you are not doing what is right, you are troubling your own house and God’s word says you will eventually inherit the wind. That means you’ll lose everything (Prov. 11:29 NIV). True repentance is doing good deeds daily to please the Father in heaven (Acts 26:20; John 8:29). Begin to repent in your marriage by taking the first step. Jesus will be right behind you. The Lord only expects three things from you: Study His word, put it into practice, and pray for others, as well as yourself (Matt. 7:24; Luke 8:21; John 8:51; 12:47-50; 1 Thess. 5:17; Eph. 6:18; Luke 18:1; 11:5-10). Is that too much to ask when He gives you His salvation? PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International

  • What Was Jesus Like? | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search What Was Jesus Like? Jesus was a likable person because He was kind, outgoing and gentle in spirit. He was compassionate and showed mercy to the poor, the lowly and those who had no helper. He had many friends, some closer than others. Peter and Lazarus were very special to Him. Many women were also His friends, and He was very close to some of them. Jesus did the work of His Father by proclaiming the kingdom of heaven is at hand for those who change their lives by repenting (Matt. 4:17). Jesus came to proclaim the good life of God. He came to proclaim that when you live this life, you will be assured blessings, abundant peace, joy and every good thing (John 10:10; 15:11). All your prayers will be answered (John 14:14; 15:7; Matt. 7:7). Jesus knew He couldn't change people from their wicked ways. He could not force anyone to repent, but He could proclaim the message as a witness. This message is the good news of how we can get rid of our evil natures by practicing God's Ways so that God can bless us (Acts 3:26). All we need to do is imitate Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 11:1). He was a living example, showing us, by His good deeds, how easy it is to overcome and live a godly life (John 10:32; Matt. 11:30). Not all those who understood His message took it to heart, but a few did (Matt 13:19-23). Jesus was as a salesman selling a good way of life, but few were interested or believed His message (Matt. 11:30; 22:14). Many of those few who responded and strived to enter by the narrow door by living for God each day never finished, but others did endure to the end and were saved (Luke 13:24; Matt. 10:22; 24:13). They were all reminded not to become weary in well-doing (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13). They were told that if they endured, they would receive the prize of ruling the nations of this earth with Christ (Rev. 2:26-27). They would also have Jesus Christ's nature formed in them (Gal. 4:19). Those who continued to sacrifice, by doing good for God on a daily basis, eventually entered God's rest (Heb. 4:10; 13:16, 21; Rom. 12:1-2). Then all they needed to do was endure to the end, living the happy, peaceful, abundant life that Jesus lived and gave us example to live (Matt. 10:22; Rev. 2:26). It's a simple message, isn't it? But it simply is not lived by many who profess His name today because it simply is not known (Titus 1:16). Now that you know what Jesus was like and what His simple message was, just imitate Him daily so you can be an example to others that this is indeed the truth and the only way to live (1 Cor. 11:1; John 3:21; 1 John 1:6-7). • Are You Convicted? | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Are You Convicted? Jesus was a fully convicted person. He lived only to please the Father, by being a servant of others in love. Jesus Christ, as well as many of the apostles, gladly laid down their lives for the brethren because He was fully convicted (John 10:11, 15). As we look into the meaning of conviction, we will begin to see that it is conversion. To be in a fully converted state one must be in a fully convicted state of mind—one that is not "carried away by every wind of doctrine," as God’s word puts it (Eph. 4:14). Study to show yourself approved to God—be a person who needs not be ashamed and who handles the word of God accurately (2 Tim. 2:15). The reason for studying your Bible is so that you become fully convicted by it, and thus become fully converted in the process. If you are continually in God’s word, you are continually being convicted by its words, which are true (Heb. 6:18). Have you ever wondered why there are no collection plates spoken of in the Bible? There is no mention of weekly collections made by the apostles for the support of the apostles or for a building fund. However, there is mention of a collection for the poor saints in Jerusalem, which consisted of money, food, and clothing (1 Cor. 16:1-4). It shouldn’t even need to be said that every last cent collected went to the needy in Jerusalem and not to the apostles for salaries. Then how were the apostles supported? How, for that matter, was Jesus supported? Jesus had responsibilities. He had to teach the twelve apostles how to live. He also taught them all the words He heard from the Father. All this took over three years. He was constantly helping others, showing His disciples the “Way.” He also had to support His mother and His four brothers and His sisters, because He was the eldest. “Isn't this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James, Joses, Judas and Simon? Aren't His sisters here with us?” (Mark 6:3). He had a home, and with every home comes expenses (Mark 2:1). How, then, was Jesus supported? Simple: He was supported by those who were fully convicted. He was supported by people such as Joanna, the wife of Chuza, King Herod’s right hand man. Susanna and many others were contributing to the support of Jesus and the twelve disciples out of their own private funds (Luke 8:3). These women were helping to support them out of their own means. When you are convicted, you simply continually act on your conviction. This, then, is the only Scripture in the New Testament that reveals how Jesus and the apostles were supported. Notice the “many others” mentioned in that Scripture. That was many hundreds of others. How would one know that? First of all, the only people mentioned here by name are women. So it looks like women could have taken the lead in their support. Now consider this. If you were to train twelve men, and feed, clothe and lodge them over a three year period, how much would you need? If you were to take care of your very own mother and your four brothers and two or more sisters over a three year period, how much would you need? One thing is for sure, it wouldn’t be a little. So Jesus and the apostles were simply supported by those people who were convicted, right? Surely there were many who never began to live the new life, called the Way of righteousness. Also, many did not take the message of the truth to heart. Some probably were zealous at first, but when they began to be persecuted by others for living this Way, they fell away as it is mentioned in Matthew 13:20-21. Also, there had to be those who wouldn’t prove all that they heard, by looking it up in the Scriptures like the Bereans did (Acts 17:11). So they remained hearers of the word and were never convicted, and they never became converted to God (James 1:22). One definition of faith is “that which is believed.” But how can you believe unless your Spirit has been convicted? Now to strengthen the Spirit, we all need to be continually fed from God’s word, to prove all things and hold fast with conviction those things which we know and have proven to be true. That is solid faith! That is unwavering faith! Many are going to fall away from the faith because of lack of conviction. Their faith, as a result, will be weakened and continue to be weakened by their continued lack of conviction. Studying God’s word daily and continuing to do acts of kindness and charity daily will keep your conviction strong. The answered prayers you will continue to receive, along with healings and miracles, will keep your conviction strong. If you cannot convince another of the truth from God’s word, you are still not convicted yourself. The message is quite simple, so you can see many are simply not convicted yet. When a person hears a vacuum cleaner salesman give his convicting story, many are convicted enough to buy the vacuum immediately. Their conviction in the product automatically gave them faith in the salesperson. They were sold! This is exactly what happens when Jesus preached the truth from God’s word. People believed Him and, as a result of that belief or faith, many were healed (Luke 8:48). Many, however, did not continue in that truth by putting Jesus’ words into daily practice. They forgot His words. As a result, they lost their belief, their faith and their conviction. Those, however, who immediately put their hands to the plow and didn’t look back, continued to feed their conviction and fortified it with daily Bible study, good works and prayer. They kept learning, so they kept growing. As they were continually convicted by their reading, they automatically began to bring these convictions forward into their daily walk with God. When these new convictions were put into practice and thoroughly tested, they became fully convicted because they proved God’s word was right after all. One area where God wants you to test Him is in giving. Notice what the Lord says in Malachi 3:10: “...test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven, and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.” The people who were convicted by the truth and began to live it gave money to the poor or needy (Acts 10:2; 9:36). They also supported Jesus Christ. Jesus took that support money and at times gave to the poor. “For some were supposing, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus was saying to him 'Buy the things we have need of for the feast,' or else, that he should give something to the poor" (John 13:29). Conviction, then, is not only faith but faithfulness. What would have happened if people were not faithful to Jesus Christ in supporting the truth and getting it out to others who were being called into the faith to be saved? Well that didn’t happen because they stayed convicted, and as a result, they remained faithful to God’s harvest. wholewheatonline.com Search How to Be a Good Person Our Father in heaven wants us to be good sons and daughters for Him. He wants us to respect Him. He wants us to love Him wholeheartedly (Deut. 6:5). He wants us to stop swearing, so we will not bring curses upon ourselves. He wants us to stop dwelling on what is evil, because those evil thoughts will eventually become evil actions. He wants us to practice moderation in all things, because He does not want us to hurt ourselves. He wants us to do good things that help us, instead of bad things that can harm us (Deut. 6:18, 24). He wants us to stay out of trouble, by engaging in good and productive things (Titus 3:14). What better way could there be, to do good things, than to help those who are in need? By helping the blind, the lame, the sick and the elderly, we learn to care for others in need (Luke 14:13-14; 10:37). We learn to be sensitive to the needs of others. We learn compassion, forgiveness, patience, kindness, goodness, joy, faithfulness, gentleness, and most of all, how to love our neighbor. These are the fruits of the Spirit, which come from serving others in a godly way every day (Gal. 5:22-24). • How to Be Good | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Be Good The words of a familiar song say, “He knows when you’ve been sleeping, he knows when you’re awake, he knows when you’ve been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake.” Why not be good for God’s sake? Yes, we are constantly telling our children to be good, but why? Good things happen to good people. The word of God says: “If the righteous are rewarded in the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!” (Prov. 11:31). Psalm 125:4 says: “Do good, oh Lord, to those who are good. Yes, God wants children to be good. He tells little children not to let anyone deceive them, and that the one who practices righteousness is righteous, even as God is righteous (1 John 3:7). He also tells the little children not to love with the words of their mouths only, but with good deeds. By this, they will know they are of the truth and be sure in their hearts that they are God’s friends (1 John 3:18-19). God wants little children to live as Jesus Christ gave them example to live, so that when He returns, they will have confidence and not shrink away in shame. God’s word tells you how to abide in Him. It says: “If you know that Jesus Christ is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness [daily] is born of Him” (1 John 2:28-29). You must, however, do all that you do in word or deed in the name of Jesus Christ, as happy slaves of Jesus Christ (Col. 3:17). Righteousness is doing God’s Will from the heart (Eph. 6:6). You know that you love the children of God (others) when you love God and practice or do His commandments; and they are not hard to keep (1 John 5:2-3). You keep them daily by continually doing things that are pleasing in God’s sight (1 John 3:22). If you are to walk with God, then you must walk in His commandments, just as you have heard from the beginning that you should walk in them (2 John 6). You walk in His commandments by practicing righteousness—by being careful to engage in good deeds (Titus 3:8). This is something you’re going to have to learn to do (Titus 3:14). But realize this: whatever good you do, this you will receive back from the Lord (Eph. 6:8). When all you sow is righteousness, all you’ll reap is blessings, for God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name (Gal. 6:7; Heb. 6:10). Wives are to be in loving subjection to their husbands, because the Lord says they should for their own good (Eph. 5:22). 3. Married couples are not to deny one another (deny the needs of each other), because when they do, Satan can tempt them (1 Cor. 7:3, 5). 4. Never let the sun go down on your wrath by going to bed angry with one another by (Eph. 4:26). 6. Forgive one another daily (seventy times seven), so the Lord can continue to forgive you (Matt. 18:21-22). 7. Learn to serve one another daily so that you will be pleasing not only to the Lord, but to your mate as well (Mark 9:35; Rom. 15:2-3). 8. Let your charity for each other (kindness and love) shine so bright that others will imitate your godly example of love (Matt. 5:16). 9. The family that prays together stays together. Pray together each night for others, as well as for your own needs. Whenever two are in agreement with one another, it will be so (Matt. 18:19). If you follow these marriage laws of love, God can then teach you to love one another (1 Thess. 4:9; 2 Thess. 1:3). Then God will protect you from the evil one, Satan, who will try to destroy your marriage (2 Thess. 3:3). Remember always—through love, serve one another (Gal. 5:13). Walk by these spiritual laws and you will not carry out the evil desires of the flesh (Gal. 5:16, 24). Your marriage will be blessed and you will be pleasing to God (Eph. 5:10). • Put No Confidence in the Flesh | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Put No Confidence in the Flesh The Apostle Paul knew that there was no good thing in him (Rom. 7:18-19). Even Jesus knew that no one is good but God alone (Luke 18:19). Jesus was not just saying that to show how humble He was; He meant it! Jesus was mighty in deeds and words in the sight of God. He always did things that were pleasing to God, and He did them in His Father’s name rather than for His own glory (John 21:25; 10:25; 8:29; Luke 24:19; Acts 10:38). Christ was raised from the dead because He lived to glorify the Father with good works (Rom. 6:4; John 5:29). Jesus glorified the Father while He was on earth and He was gentle and humble in heart (Matt. 11:29; John 17:4). Today, God is making the same kind of people - people who are zealous for good works (Titus 2:14). We purify ourselves from every lawless deed and overcome our evil natures by keeping Jesus Christ’s works (Rev. 2:26). Jesus even said we would do greater works than He did (John 14:12). Those who put confidence in the flesh are those who think they are not such bad people. The good they do puffs them up and fortifies the assumption that they are good people. On the other hand, Jesus and Paul both knew that no matter how much good they did while in the flesh, it would not make them good people (Luke 18:19; Rom. 7:15-21). That is why the good they did was to glorify the Father and not self. They lived to glorify the Spirit (which is God), not the flesh. Think about this. Can you think of any other way of overcoming evil other than by doing good? If you did good to glorify self, would that not then be evil? Instead of seeking your own good, the Lord wants you to seek the good of your neighbor, as a happy slave of Christ, doing the Will of God from the heart (1 Cor. 10:24; Col. 3:17; Eph. 6:6). If you empty yourself and take on the form of a servant as Christ did, you will have perfect peace and you will be giving that which is within as charity (Phil. 2:7; Matt. 20:26-28; 23:11; Mark 9:35; 10:43-45; Luke 11:41). Why? Because a servant of Christ knows that if he only serves his Master, his Master will take care of all his needs and will also glorify him with eternal life.
