  • How to Please the Lord | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Please the Lord When Jesus returns and sets up His world-ruling government in Jerusalem, all the nations of the earth will stream into it. They will say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord that He may teach us concerning His Ways, and that we may walk in His paths." He will teach people how to live their lives to please Him (Is. 2:2-3; Micah 4:1-4). Nation will not go to war against nation anymore, and they will never again learn war (Is. 2:4). Everyone will invite his neighbor over for dinner (Zech. 3:10). What will Jesus Christ teach the nations concerning His Ways when they come up to Jerusalem? He will instruct them to help those in need (Matt. 25:31-40). "Dispense true justice, and practice righteousness by practicing kindness and compassion each to his brother. Do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another," the Lord of Hosts says (Zech. 7:9-10). "These are the things you should do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates. Also let none of you devise evil in your heart against another, and do not love perjury; for all these are what I hate" (Zech. 8:16-17). People in the past refused to pay attention to God (Zech. 7:11). But it is prophesied that people will listen, when Jesus Christ comes back to rule the world (Zech. 8:20-23; 14:9). Man says today, "What should I do to please the Lord? Offer my firstborn for my rebellious acts?" Christ says, "I have told you, oh man, what is good. Practice righteousness. Practice justice. Practice loving one another and being kind to one another and walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6:8). Is this not what He told Cain (Gen. 4:7; 1 John 3:10-12), Abraham (Gen. 18:19), and Moses (Heb. 3:5)? And is this not what Daniel knew and told the king (Dan. 4:27), and what Jesus told us? Overcome evil by practicing righteousness for God in His name for His glory (Rom. 12:21; Col. 3:17; Matt. 5:16). Practice hospitality by inviting the blind and lame over for dinner (Rom. 12:13; Luke 14:13). Share your clothes, your money and your food with those in need, and share your home with the weary traveler (Luke 3:11; 1 Tim. 6:17-18; 1 John 3:17). We are without excuse when we consider the Scripture that says, "To the one who knows to do good (practice righteousness) and does it not, to him it is sin" (James 4:17). God’s word also says, "How blessed are those who practice righteousness at all times" (Psalm 106:3; 11:7). • Information on Righteousness | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Information on Righteousness Is it possible to be righteous and still not be pleasing to God? The word of God says yes. The Pharisees were very righteous but they were righteous for self instead of for the right reason (Matt. 23:13, 25-26). They wanted recognition, fame and fortune. They loved receiving publicity for their righteousness (Matt. 5:20; 6:1). Many people today have a zeal for God but not with the right knowledge of what God really wants them to do (Rom. 10:2-3). They are not doing their righteousness for God and glorifying Him with their good works (Matt. 5:16). They are not doing all the good works that they do or the good words that they say in the name of Jesus Christ, as true disciples are commanded to do daily (Col. 3:17). Many are not doing their righteousness in secret, as God has commanded (Matt. 6:3-6). Many are not doing their righteousness in order to overcome the evil pulls of their nature (Rom. 12:21; Psalm 34:14; 37:27). Because many are doing righteousness for the wrong reasons, they are establishing their own righteousness. Therefore, many do not even believe they are evil or in need of repentance when they are still being held captive by Satan to do his will (2 Tim. 2:26). The more righteousness you do for God for repentance, the more you become aware of how unrighteous you really are (Rom. 7:18). The more righteousness you do for self, the more unaware you become of how evil you really are (Luke 11:13). It is lethal to do good for any other reason than to glorify God daily. Your righteousness must be done in secret and not to be admired by others. Your righteousness must be done to show God respect (fear) and love. This is how to keep God’s Ways of righteousness in your life. Go to God and ask Him to show you His Ways. Do not continue to do it your way, because God’s Ways are not our ways (Is. 55:8-9). Our ways are Satan’s ways (Eph. 2:3). Let us follow the righteous directions for conversion found in God’s word (Acts 26:20). Repent! Turn to God by performing good works for reasons of repentance and to build godly character (1 Tim. 4:7-8). By doing good for God, let us seek Him and become righteous in all our ways (Rom. 3:10-12; 1 John 3:7). Let us prove to be disciples of Jesus Christ by bearing good fruit (good works) on our spiritual trees (Col. 1:10; Matt. 7:19; 3:10). • Little Things Mean Alot: A Woman to Woman Article | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Little Things Mean Alot: A Woman to Woman Article It’s wasn’t our anniversary! It wasn’t my birthday! But my husband walked in with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. He wanted me to know he loved me. Little things mean a lot. I fixed a pot of tea for a widow. I added a little snack to make it more special. The widow said, “Thank you.” Yes, little things mean a lot. I came home from a busy day and my daughter had completely cleaned the house. It was so pleasant. Yes, little things mean a lot. Little things mean a lot to the Lord, too. When we go the extra mile for someone and do extra acts of kindness and charity for others, this means a lot to God. When we serve others, we are truly serving God, because Matthew 25:40 says, “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.” Doing acts of kindness is how we overcome. Psalm 37:27 says, “Overcome evil by doing good.” This is a special Way of life that glorifies God in heaven. Read Matthew 5:16. These are things we must learn to do (Is. 1:16-17; Titus 2:7; 3:1, 8, 14). When you begin to live a life of doing little acts of kindness for others, a whole new world will open up to you. This is God’s special Way of living that Jesus came to show us. It is a beautiful world of giving and sharing, loving and serving. It is the way that brings peace, joy, prosperity and abundance into your life. It is an outward way of living instead of an inward way of living. It really makes each day very special, very pleasant and happy. As the words of a song go: Little things mean a lot when you do them every day. Little things mean a lot when you’re living God’s special Way. Little things mean a lot and loving is the key. Do His Will forever and live eternally (Matt. 7:21; 1 John 2:17). • We are the Church | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search We are the Church Today, religions by the thousands claim they are imitating the New Testament church of the Bible. But are they? How could they be? They are all different, aren’t they? Where is the church that Jesus Christ said the gates of hell would not prevail against? Where is the church to which the Apostle Peter was given the keys, and that Jesus Himself heads (Eph. 5:23; Col. 1:18)? Jesus told the Samaritan woman we were not going to be required to worship God in a certain location and that temple-type worship or building-type worship was coming to an end (John 4:21). Jesus said His true disciples would, instead, worship the Father in spirit and in truth (John 4:23). God is spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth (John 4:24). What does this mean? If we all knew, we would be of one mind, one faith and one baptism. In Philippians 3:3 it says, “We are the true circumcision (true disciples of Jesus Christ) who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh.” Still confused? Turn to Romans 12:1 where it says our bodies are our spiritual service of worship. We are to transform and renew our minds by performing God’s Will on earth daily as it is done in heaven (Rom. 12:2). We are to worship God by doing good and sharing (Heb. 13:16, 21). We are to persevere in doing good, using our bodies as instruments of righteousness (Rom. 2:7; 6:13, 18-19). If we, by the Spirit, are putting to death the evil deeds of the flesh, overcoming our evil natures by doing good, and resisting evil by not getting weary in doing good for others, we are allowing God to crush Satan under our heel (Rom. 16:20; 8:13; 12:21; 1 Peter 3:11, 13; Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13). We must be careful to engage in good works, glorifying God in Christ’s name (Titus 3:8; Matt. 5:16; Col. 3:17). We must overcome our evil nature by keeping Jesus Christ’s works. When we do these things we are worshiping God in spirit and in truth, the Way He now requires us to worship Him. We are the church. We can worship Him anywhere we find ourselves. However, if we are worthless for good works, we are worshiping God in vain and by our deeds we deny Him (Titus 1:16; Mark 7:7). Let’s do more than profess we know Him – let’s show Him! • How You Deny Christ | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search How You Deny Christ Jesus Christ came to show us the Way to live daily to please the Father. He said His way is easy and pleasant, and not hard (Matt. 11:30; 1 John 5:3). To live this Way, we are to walk as He walked, which means we are to live as He lived. Then we abide in His love (1 John 2:6; John 15:7-9). We are to practice righteousness daily to please the Father in everything we do (1 John 2:29; 3:7, 10, 17-18). We are commanded to do all the good we do in the name of Jesus Christ for the glory of the Father (Col. 3:17). Paul understood what Christ wanted. That is why He told ministers to tell those who have believed in God to be careful to engage in good works (Titus 3:8). Jesus was zealous for good works to please God and this is what He wants us to do. There are those who profess what Jesus Christ preached but see no need for works of any kind in regard to the overcoming process. These are a people who profess to know God but are still living disobedient and detestable lives. They do not know the truth about how to overcome evil by doing good works daily for the glory of the Father in heaven (Psalm 37:27; Rom. 12:21). How do you deny Christ? By not getting involved in a life of good works for God’s glory (Titus 1:16; Matt. 5:16). You cannot expect to have Christ formed in you and living in your heart unless you imitate Christ continually by serving others with love (1 Cor. 11:1). Then, and only then, will the Father reveal His Son in you (Gal. 4:19). God bless those who begin to live this Way without delay. • Dying to Self | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Dying to Self Every time you say, “Not my will be done, but the Will of the Father” you die to self (Matt. 26:39). Every time you resist an evil thought, an evil impulse or an evil action, you die to self (1 Peter 5:8-9). Every time you do something kind for someone else, for God, you die to self (Rom. 12:21; Gal. 6:9). When you are tested by God with a severe trial and you accept it, persevere, and continue to do what is right, you die to self (Luke 21:19; 1 Peter 4:12-13). When you have the courage to speak what is right and expose what is evil, you die to self (Eph. 5:10-11). Every time you correct a fool in his folly in a loving manner, you die to self (Prov. 26:4-5). When you discipline yourself continually for the purpose of godliness, you are dying to self (1 Tim. 4:7). Every time you give in secret, you are dying to self (Matt. 6:1) Every time you practice righteousness for God, you are dying to self (1 John 3:7). Every time you do good for God, you are dying to self and entering the kingdom within (Luke 17:21). Overcoming evil by doing good and pleasing God is dying to self (Rom. 12:21). You cannot be converted unless you die to self daily by serving others (Mark 10:45). Dying to self is repentance (Acts 26:20). Are you dying to self by living only to the Spirit, which is what pleases God (Gal. 5:16)? If you, like the Apostle Paul, are conscious of nothing against yourself, then you are dying to self (1 Cor. 4:4). If Jesus should come back tomorrow, would you be ready? Or, will you shrink away from Him in shame when He comes (1 John 2:28)? Are you abiding in Christ by putting all of His words and all of His sayings into daily practice in your life? Then you are truly dying to self and are becoming a new creature (2 Cor. 5:17). These are the words of Jesus Christ: “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done for you. Herein is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciple” (John 15:7-8). • How to Commit Your Ways to the Lord | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Commit Your Ways to the Lord One should continually remind himself that Jesus Christ said His Ways are easy and very pleasant (Matt. 11:30). Jesus Christ says one must have the mind of a child to understand His true message (Matt. 11:25). A child is teachable, correctable, willing to change, and willing to admit he’s been wrong about many things (Mark 10:15). One must have this attitude to enter the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 18:3-4; 19:14). With this attitude of a child, then, let the mind be in you that is in Jesus Christ (Phil. 2:5; Eph. 5:10). Jesus always did things to please the Father (John 8:29). The words that came from His mouth were the Father’s. We are to do the same (1 Peter 4:11; Col. 3:8, 10; Eph. 4:29). Whatever is good, peaceable, respectable, admirable and uplifting, we are to think on these things (Phil. 4:8-9). We are not to have a tongue that says good things one minute and bad things the next. Instead, we are to use it for good all the time (James 3:9-10). By practicing these Scriptures in our daily walk with God, we will be committing our minds and tongues to Christ. Remember, we must be diligent and zealous, and we must persevere in order to make headway. Now the only thing left is to get the body to zealously do good for God (1 Peter 3:13). Remember, doing good is how God is glorified (Matt. 5:16). It is how He is well pleased (Heb. 13:16). Doing good for God’s glory is His Will and the Way He wishes to be spiritually worshiped (Heb. 13:21; Rom. 12:1-2). Ask yourself, "Have I ever been weary in doing good for God?" (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13). If you have, you will know that you are in the process of committing your ways to the Lord (1 Peter 3:11; 1 Tim. 4:7). If not, then it is time to begin, because it is a great way to live. PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International

  • Surprise Opportunities | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Surprise Opportunities The phone rings. It could be a friend, relative or neighbor who needs help! It might be the neighbor next door or down the block. It might be someone in another city or even another state. The chips are down! The clock is ticking, you only have minutes or maybe even seconds to make a decision. Can I help? Will I help? Is my life enough in order so I can help? Or would I have to answer to an out-of-town person in need, “Well, I would really like to come and help but my laundry isn’t done. Maybe next time you’re in need I’ll be more prepared and organized.” Do you always try your best to keep things organized and done for God so you can be ready and willing to help someone for God? An example would be keeping up on laundry so you can pack an overnight bag in just seconds. Are your children obedient so they can help? Can you give them instructions or leave them lists of things to do and know that these things will be done (Eph. 6:1-3)? Do your children understand that what you do, you do for God, and helping out at home and being good kids is their way of doing God’s Will (John 6:38; 1 John 3:22)? Do you have a good, trusting relationship with your spouse so you can make those split-second decisions when necessary? Will your spouse know and understand that the decision you made was a godly choice? Do you know in your heart, without doubt, that your spouse will accept your choice, so you will have a free heart and mind to help the person or persons in need? Can you handle an unexpected out-of-town visit leaving your spouse and children behind? How would you cope? Would you go around feeling sorry for yourself, making the people in need aware of your suffering? Or could you put aside your personal feelings to give your whole heart, soul and mind to the person in need, for God (Gal. 5:14; Matt. 22:37-39)? Anytime you help someone, they need to be your only concern (1 Cor. 10:24). The best way to accomplish this is through much faith and constant prayer to God. Especially if you are summoned out of town to help someone in need, a constant communication through prayer to God can and will get you through any situation (2 Tim. 1:3; Eph. 6:18). We need to always be ready, willing and able to lend a hand and do God’s Will. We must prepare ourselves for the surprises, as well as for our planned daily service to our Lord, by putting on the full armor of God (Eph. 6:11). How do we do this? By studying God’s word daily, praying and putting His words into practice daily (2 Tim. 2:15; John 8:51). We will then be fully prepared for anything or anyone God sends our way. • How to Be a Bond Servant for Christ | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Be a Bond Servant for Christ Jesus Christ took on the form of a bond servant, leaving us an example that we should be like He is (Phil. 2:7; 1 John 2:6). By doing so, He did not live to please Himself, seeking His own good, but He sought the good of His neighbor (Rom. 15:3; 1 Cor. 10:24). We are also to imitate Christ by practicing righteousness to please the Father (1 Cor. 11:1; Eph. 5:1; 1 John 3:7). We are no longer living to please self, but Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 5:15). Jesus says we should serve others in need, as He was a servant to others in need (Matt. 20:26-28; Mark 10:43-45). Jesus bore our sins that we might die to sin by living to righteousness (1 Peter 2:24). This can also be said another way. Overcome evil by doing good and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts (Rom. 12:21; 13:14). Whoever keeps Christ’s words or sayings, by walking in the same manner as Jesus Christ walked, will be truly perfected (1 John 2:5-6). Jesus Christ’s sayings, which He received from God, are not burdensome (1 John 5:3; John 12:49). In fact, Jesus said that His Way is easy and His load is light or pleasant (Matt. 11:30). It is the Way to give rest to our weary souls (Matt. 11:28-29). It is the Way to the abundant life (John 10:10). Yes, we are to use our bodies as slaves to righteousness (Rom. 6:13, 18-19). Another word for bond servant is slave-servant. It is the bond servants who will serve God in His temple when He returns (Rev. 22:3). So, engage in good deeds for God today by showing hospitality to strangers and practicing righteousness (Titus 2:14; 1 Tim. 5:10; Rom. 12:13). Entertain the lowly, the crippled, the lame and the blind (Luke 14:13; Matt. 5:16). By doing so, we shall assure our hearts before Jesus Christ and be bond servants for Him (1 John 3:18-19). • An Honest and Good Heart | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search An Honest and Good Heart This is the seed that fell on good soil: “The ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance” (Luke 8:15). This parable is talking about the many ways a person can receive the true message of the kingdom when heard for the first time. People who have an honest and good heart immediately put the message into action, which means they immediately repent. They hold fast to the message by studying their Bibles in a systematic way so as to prove all the things they are learning about the true kingdom message (James 1:25). They persevere in doing this, which means they are consistent in their study of the Bible. They are consistent with their bearing fruit and, as a result, their personal growth as new disciples of Jesus Christ is excellent. They are excellent examples in the eyes of God from the very first day. Because of this beautiful attitude toward God’s true message, they become effectual doers and are blessed by God in everything they do. Because they seek the kingdom by practicing righteousness for God daily (that makes it God’s righteousness), all things are added to them—clothes, food, good jobs, prosperity and many other wonderful blessings (Matt. 6:33). They are not living for self any longer but now live only to do the Will of God. Their prayers are answered because they do only those things which are pleasing in God’s sight (John 9:31; 1 John 3:22). They consistently discipline themselves for the purpose of godliness and as a result, they are forcing themselves into the kingdom within (1 Tim. 4:7; Luke 16:16; 17:21). Because of their honest and good hearts, they are constantly good examples for God. They know it pleases God to be good examples for Him and to constantly provoke others to do more works of love for His glory (Heb. 10:24; Matt. 5:16). Because of this constant condition of maintaining an honest and a good heart, their righteousness quickly surpasses that of the scribes and the Pharisees and, as happy slaves of Jesus Christ, they do the Will of God from the heart and they enter the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 5:20; Eph. 6:6). We can see that receiving this message with an honest and a good heart and then holding fast to this true message and bearing fruit in every good work with perseverance is the narrow attitude we must have to enter the kingdom of God (Luke 8:15; Col. 1:10). This is the narrow Way that very few find. It is the narrow Way which few who strive to enter, succeed in entering (Luke 13:24). The key to the true message of the kingdom is attitude. Many of the Pharisees and religious leaders of Jesus Christ’s day did not accept the message of the kingdom because they had bad attitudes. The examples given to us in the parable of the sower are all the attitudes fatal to the message, followed by the attitude that will cause one to grow and grow in the message. The last attitude, striving to maintain an honest and good heart before God daily, is the attitude that leads to life eternal. Therefore, let us fear (be sober) while a promise of entering His rest by entering the kingdom within still remains, lest any one of us should come short of entering (Heb. 4:1). We should all want to receive God’s message with a good attitude. We should receive the message with an attitude of gratefulness, an attitude of humbleness. Jesus assures us His Way is very easy and pleasant so let’s not make it difficult by having a wrong attitude about the Way of righteousness (Matt. 11:30; 21:32). Let us persevere in being servants to others for the glory of the Father, as Jesus Christ gave us commandment to do (Col. 3:17). In all things, let us show ourselves to be examples of good works (Titus 2:7, 14). wholewheatonline.com Search How Do We Overcome Evil? God created the earth (Gen. 1:1). He created man with free will. He told man to obey Him so He could bless him. But man refused to obey, so God told man that he would live a cursed life apart from God (Gen. 3:6, 17). Cain refused to obey God and chose, rather, to live for himself and do what he thought was good (Is. 48:17). By choosing the way of self and leaving God out of his life, he did evil deeds (1 John 3:12). One of his evil deeds was killing his brother because his brother was practicing good deeds for God. Cain was cursed for not practicing righteousness to please God (Gen. 4:7, 11). Cain was of the devil (1 John 3:12). Enoch walked with God, which means he lived as God lives (Gen. 5:22). He imitated God by practicing righteousness and doing good works to glorify God (Matt. 5:16). He did his Father's Will in heaven instead of his own will (Matt. 6:10). Enoch was God's friend because he practiced righteousness instead of the evil deeds of the flesh. He walked with God, which means he kept God's Ways. Noah practiced righteousness to please God and overcame his old nature (Gen. 6:9). He was considered righteous, blameless, complete, holy, upright, saintly, godly, and any other nice words you want to use to describe him. Noah was a preacher of righteousness (2 Peter 2:5). He couldn't have been a preacher of righteousness unless he practiced righteousness daily for God. Abraham brought up his family to practice righteousness (Gen. 18:19). So did Moses. He asked God about that special Way he could live to please Him (Ex. 33:13). God told him that Way and he kept it (Heb. 3:5). Daniel overcame evil by doing good for God and told the king the same message (Dan. 4:27). Job practiced righteousness for God and there are long lists of how he did it (Job 1:1; 29:12-17). Jesus Christ did good works to please the Father by doing only the Father's Will, which is doing good. He was serving God by serving others for the glory of God (Rom. 15:2-3). Jesus told us to do all the things He did. He said to help others zealously in His name for the Father's glory (1 Peter 3:13; Matt. 5:16). When we do this, we are able to overcome evil and God will be faithful to bless us for all the good we do in His name on a daily basis (Rom. 12:21; Heb. 6:10). Has God started to bless you yet (Matt. 16:27; Rom 2:6-7; Rev. 2:23; 22:12)? Why not start living God's Way today? Learning How to Be Single-Minded There are many different expressions in the Bible instructing believers to walk with singleness of mind, singleness of eye or singleness of heart. Hebrews 12:13 commands, "Make straight paths for your feet." Making straight paths for your feet is walking in righteousness at all times - continually. To always walk in righteousness is to always please the Lord. To always please the Lord we must constantly remember to please Him with our thoughts, words and deeds. We must refrain from sin and engage in those things that are good, edifying, honorable and profitable for others. Walking with singleness of mind and heart is being intent on serving and pleasing only God. He is number one in your life, in your heart and in your mind. You must make Him number one in your actions. Psalm 106:3 says, "How blessed are those who practice righteousness at all times." So do not deprive yourself of the good life with the free gift of eternal life that comes from living a godly life. It is the life Jesus Christ lived, and He came to show us how easy and pleasant it is. You will soon be a new you, if to His Ways you remain true. And make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed. Hebrews 12:13 So that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:10 This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men. Titus 3:8 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth. Matthew 6:24 How blessed are those who keep justice, who practice righteousness at all times! Psalm 106:3 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:30 And have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him. • What is the Truth? | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search What is the Truth? If there was no truth, then what is being taught today in over 30,000 religions, all differing in their doctrines, wouldn’t make any difference. If there was only one truth, however, then that truth certainly would make a difference. Following is a list, of just some, of the half-truths that are taught and believed by people today, followed by the whole truth, which you will see does make a difference. ACCEPTING JESUS The world teaches: All you need to do is accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and believe in Him to be saved. The truth is: We must be daily doers of God’s Will to be saved (Matt. 7:21; 1 John 2:17). We must keep Jesus Christ’s words by putting them into action daily in our lives (Luke 6:46) to receive salvation and never see death, so says Jesus Christ, who does not lie (John 8:51). WORKS OR NO WORKS The world teaches: A salvation without works message. The truth is: Repentance requires a life of doing good for God for repentance if we are to receive the free gift of salvation. Let’s say it like it is. Jesus’ faith had works of righteousness. He glorified the Father in heaven by these works of righteousness that He did daily to please the Father. He instructed those who would follow Him and be His true disciples to do the same (Matt. 5:16). These works are to be done by practicing righteousness or acts of love daily towards others for God (Matt. 6:1; 25:40). This is how to love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus came to show us how to do the Will of His Father daily on this earth as it is being done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). This Will of God is righteousness that we do daily for others for the glory of the Father. God’s Will represents God’s Ways, and all God’s Ways are righteous (Psalm 145:17). When Jesus resurrects all who are in their graves, only those who had good works will come to a resurrection of eternal life (John 5:29; Rom. 2:7). Doesn’t it seem weird that the world’s ministers teach salvation cannot be earned by good works, discouraging the many from having any good works for repentance by this false incomplete teaching? The world teaches: You are saved by grace through faith, and not a result of works, that anyone should boast. This is true, but only half true, and not the complete message. The world quotes Ephesians 2:8-9, omitting verse 10. This omission makes the subject of works incomplete. The truth is: The Apostle Paul wrote in such a way that many of the untaught and unstable would distort his writings, as they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction (2 Peter 3:15-16). Ephesians 2:8-9 is a prime example. Ephesians 2:10 states we were created for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Repentance requires a life of good works, as Jesus gave us example of (Acts 26:20). Also, Titus 3:5-7 is quoted out of context by many to discourage doing good works, when verse 8 specifically states that true ministers of God are to constantly remind those who say they believe in God to be careful to engage in good works. Titus 3:14 and 2:7, 14 are proof that the book of Titus is, literally, a book that encourages those who follow Jesus Christ to be rich in good works for God. Titus 1:16 talks about those who are traveling the religious broad way that leads to destruction. They remain worthless for good works for God and as a result, continue to live detestable and disobedient lives before God. Jesus was zealous for good deeds for the glory of the Father and this is what He commanded those who would follow Him to do (Matt. 5:16; Titus 2:14). If you don’t or won’t do this, you deny Jesus Christ in your life. BORN AGAIN The world says: You must be born again, quoting John 3:3. This is true, but only half true, because the explanation of how to be born again is not taught. The truth is: You must practice righteousness toward others daily as Jesus Christ told us to do, or you will not be born again. Read these Scriptures to see what the Lord says; 1 John 2:29; 3:7-10; 3 John 11; Acts 9:36. AUTOMATIC RIGHTEOUSNESS The world teaches: When you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and believe in Him, you will just automatically do these works of righteousness as a result of your belief or faith. The truth is: The Apostle Paul instructed his ministers to constantly remind people to engage in a life of doing good works for God (Titus 3:8) and this is something they would have to learn to do (Titus 3:14; Is. 1:16-20). We are to provoke one another to more love and good deeds (Heb. 10:24). The word provoke here means to go against your nature. The Apostle Paul had to discipline himself daily for the purpose of godliness so he wouldn’t be a hypocrite (1 Cor. 9:27; 1 Tim. 4:7). Does this sound like it comes naturally, or was the Apostle Paul fighting the good fight of faith by fighting his evil human nature and resisting Satan daily (1 Tim. 1:18)? OVERCOMING The world teaches: Nothing concerning the subject of overcoming. The truth is: We must overcome to be saved (Rev. 2:7). Why? Because overcoming is how we repent. We overcome by keeping and performing daily the deeds that Jesus came here to show us. We must endure, keeping them, and stay true to Jesus right up to the end of our lives in order to be saved (Rev. 2:26). If only those who overcome will not be hurt in the second death, then what will happen to those precious people who are searching for God in all the wrong places who have never even heard of the message of overcoming (Rev. 2:11)? If overcoming is required to be a disciple of Jesus Christ or your name is erased from the book of life, doesn’t it stand to reason that there is more to the watered-down salvation message than the world is being told by those who are spiritually blind (Rev. 3:5; Matt. 15:14)? Look at all the Scriptures on overcoming that are left out of this world’s message of salvation: Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21; 5:5; 21:7. Jesus was righteous. He came to show us how to live righteously and be righteous like He was. To be righteous, you must do acts of righteousness toward others for God (Matt. 25:40), using your body as an instrument of righteousness for God as Jesus did and gave us example to do (Rom. 6:13). We are to live like Dorcas did, who was abounding with deeds of kindness toward others, which she continually did (Acts 9:36). We purify ourselves and allow the Lord to change us by always being zealous for doing good (Titus 2:7, 14; 1 Peter 3:13). This is how we overcome the evil one in our lives—by continually doing good for others (Psalm 34:14; 37:27; 1 Peter 3:11; Rom. 12:21; Rev. 2:26). The fear of the Lord is to seek God and show Him respect by doing good daily (Rom. 3:10-12). This is how to show God reverence daily (Psalm 34:9-14). Now, if it is with great difficulty that the righteous people we have just mentioned are saved (1 Peter 4:18), you know the world has not heard the true message of the gospel; but now you have. Now you know how to overcome. You have been told how it’s done daily. God’s word says we are to put to death the evil deeds of the body with His Spirit daily if we are to live forever (Rom. 8:13-14). If we walk by the Spirit, we will not carry out the evil desires of the body, says Galatians 5:16. Walking by the Spirit means keeping God’s Ways. Walk with God like Enoch walked. Keep Jesus Christ’s words, and if you keep them, that means you do them or perform them in your life daily (Luke 6:46; John 8:31). How many people do you know or have you met who have crushed the flesh with its evil passions and desires and fulfilled Galatians 5:24? Now you know how to fulfill this Scripture in your life, and have no more excuse for your sins (John 15:22; Heb. 10:26-27). SHOULD YOU JOIN THE CHURCH OF YOUR CHOICE? The world says: You must go to church. Yet there are 30,000 different churches teaching differing doctrines. That’s religious confusion. That’s Babylon! The truth is: Christ is the church and the body of believers who live like Jesus Christ gave them example to live are that church. They are overcoming their evil natures like Jesus gave them example to do. Shocking as it may seem, Jesus came to start a spiritual church. Everyone who belongs to that spiritual church must live a spiritual life for Jesus every day, by overcoming like Jesus Christ their example told them to do (Rev. 3:21). Jesus Christ’s body is the church and that body is now spiritual so the gates of hell cannot prevail against it (Col. 1:24; Matt. 16:18). Jesus is the Rock on which the true church was founded. Peter’s name only meant pebble or small stone in Matthew 16:18 (see margin). Remember always, Jesus is the Rock. Peter is the pebble. CAN YOU LOSE YOUR SALVATION? The world teaches: Once saved always saved. The truth is: Only the one who endures to the end keeping Jesus Christ’s words, works and deeds, and does God’s Will on this earth daily, will be saved (Matt. 10:22; 24:13; 2 Tim. 2:12; Mark 13:13). The world teaches: You cannot lose your salvation. The truth is: God’s word continually admonishes His disciples to do what is right so they won’t fall away from the faith and lose their salvation (Rev. 2:5). In 2 Peter 2:21-22 it mentions that those who fall away from the “Way of righteousness” that Jesus lived would be like dogs going back to their own vomit. God’s word says if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, we are done for (Heb. 10:26-27). The goats mentioned in Matthew 25:41-46 knew to do good for God by serving others in need daily and keeping themselves from a life of sin, unstained by the world, but they heard this message of righteousness and wouldn’t obey it (James 1:27). They never became happy and blessed doers of God’s word, yet they were deluding themselves like so many today, thinking they were saved, when in fact, according to God’s word, they were not (James 1:22). Only the doers are blessed in this life and saved in the next (James 1:23-25; Rom. 2:6-8). The hearers, who know or have heard this truth and have been given ears to understand it but do not obey it, go where the goats go—the lake of fire (Matt. 25:41). Why would the example of Lot’s wife be in God’s word, if not to warn followers of Jesus Christ of their fate, should they turn back to the ways of the world or the ways of the flesh (Luke 9:62; 17:32-33)? Jesus says that if His servant turns back to his old ways he will be cut in pieces, not saved (Matt. 24:50-51). It is amazing that such erroneous doctrines of men (like you cannot lose your salvation) can be taught and never questioned by the majority, who willingly remain deceived because they won’t study God’s word daily for the truth like the Bereans did (Acts 17:11). They are following man and not God and God’s word. In God’s word, it mentions that Jesus’ true followers tested those who called themselves ministers, and found many to be liars (Rev. 2:2). We need to follow this example by knowing God’s word. ARE YOU GOING TO HEAVEN WHEN YOU DIE? The world teaches: You go to heaven or hell when you die. The truth is: God’s word says your body returns to dust and your soul sleeps. When Jesus resurrects all who are in their graves, only those who had good works will come to a resurrection of eternal life (John 5:29). Doesn’t it seem weird that the world teaches salvation cannot be earned by good works, discouraging the many from having any good works by this false incomplete teaching, when Jesus will give eternal life only to those who had good works? King David knew he would be sleeping in the grave (Psalm 17:15). Jesus’ disciples knew that King David did not ascend to heaven when he died (Acts 2:34). They knew that David and his grave were still there in the ground to that day (Acts 2:29). In the oldest book in the Bible, the book of Job, it states, “So a man lies down and does not rise until the heavens be no more. The dead will not awake or be aroused from their sleep” (Job 14:12). Job knew the Lord would call him from his grave (Job 14:14) just like Jesus said He would (John 5:28-29). All you need do is look up “sleep” in a Bible concordance to find that the soul sleeps. So, you don’t go to heaven when you die. That’s just another pagan lie. Jesus said Himself that no man has ascended to heaven except Himself (John 3:13). Was He lying? Jesus is the only one at this time who has immortality (1 Tim. 6:16). You must admit, if the pagan teaching that you go to heaven when you die was true, then why would we need a resurrection? Everyone would be immortal already, wouldn’t they? You now have read the truth from God’s word. Many have been deceived. PAGAN HOLIDAYS DO NOT HONOR GOD The world teaches: The keeping of ancient, pagan customs such as Christmas, Easter and Halloween. The truth is: Just because the names have been changed, that does not make the festivals holy or honorable. The truth about these pagan customs is readily available and easily found. Matter of fact most major newspapers have printed articles about their pagan origins at one time or another. The truth about the origins and the meaning behind the symbolism is frankly astonishing, being it goes so blatantly against God’s word. One thing that God hated (other than the making of statues for religious reasons and praying to the dead, who cannot hear—Deut. 4:15-16; 27:15) was when His people worshiped Him with pagan festivals. Our God, who never changes, told His people anciently not to inquire of the pagans as to how they worshiped their pagan gods, and then worship the one Lord, the true God, with pagan holidays (Deut. 12:30-31; 7:5; Lev. 18:30, 20:23). Easter origins: The word ‘Easter’ is actually derived from the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eostre. She is identified with the Babylonian fertility goddess Ishtar. The symbols of eggs, rabbits and even the Easter egg hunt with colored eggs, all stem from celebrating this goddess of fertility. Everything from Easter lilies, Easter ham, hot cross buns and sunrise service all have pagan origins. Doing your own research will confirm this easily and reveal what this holiday is all about. Christmas origins: There is no decree in the Bible to commemorate the birth of Christ, and nowhere in the Bible does it give the day of His birth. As most major newspapers report every year, Jesus was not born on December 25th, however, you will find other pagan gods celebrated on that very day in history. Bible scholars have argued He most likely was born in the Fall, some say in the Spring. The Companion Bible explains more about how this is calculated. The pagan custom of Christmas actually originated with the Roman festival ‘Feast of Saturnalia’. Look that up and you will be shocked what was involved. All the symbolism of Christmas has pagan origins as well; the tree, yule log, mistletoe and Santa Claus. You will be quite surprised at the information you can so easily find on the pagan origins of this holiday. There is nothing about it that honors God and He is not honored by celebrating it in His name. Again, these are abominable customs to God (Lev. 18:30; 20:23). In Jeremiah 10:2-4 (KJV) it says; Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. Halloween origins: It is not hard to understand why this holiday does not honor God. Again, do a little research as to its origins, and what actually happens on this night around the world, and it is shocking. It is considered a ‘high day’ of those in the Wiccan religion. Just read Deuteronomy 18:9-13; When you enter the land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the detestable things of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord; and because of these detestable things the Lord your God will drive them out before you. 13 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. How can someone who wants to honor God justify celebrating this day with their children? No wonder Jesus Christ shouts from the Scriptures, “In vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men (Mark 7:7). Remember, you cannot add to God’s word or take away from it. Many are so deeply deceived today and they don’t even care (Jer. 4:22). These pagan teachings are Babylonian teachings that we are to come out of (Rev. 17:5; 18:4). Those who seek the Lord are told not to learn the way of the heathens (Jer. 10:2-5). Today, people are doing what is right in their own eyes, like their forefathers did, instead of obeying God’s word (Deut. 12:8; Is. 65:2; Jer. 16:12). Well meaning Christians have been deceived. It is time to make a stand for Jesus and be a good witness to His holy name. You cannot mix pagan festivals with true worship of the Lord God Almighty (1 Cor. 10:21-22). WINE AND STRONG DRINK The world teaches: Disciples of Jesus Christ should not drink wine or strong drink. The truth is: The Lord gave permission for the Israelites to buy wine or strong drink (Deut. 14:26). God’s word says we should drink our wine with a cheerful heart (Eccl. 9:7). Wine makes a man’s heart glad (Psalm 104:15). God’s word instructs us to give a strong drink to those who are dying and wine to those who are sorrowful (Prov. 31:6). Wine was to be consumed for health reasons (1 Tim. 5:23). Jesus made 180 gallons of wine from water as one of His first miracles (John 2:6-10). Jesus will be serving aged wine at the wedding supper (Is. 25:6-8). God Himself even enjoys wine (Judges 9:13). The fruit of the vine mentioned in Matthew 26:29 was wine, as Jews were commanded by God to use wine for the Passover (Lev. 23:12-13). Jesus drank wine (Matt. 11:19 see margin note) and that is the simple truth! God even prophesied in His word that false ministers would speak against the use of wine and liquor, and people would make them their ministers or spokesmen (Micah 2:11). How dare people speak against what God has allowed in His word. They have added to the word their traditions which make their worship of God in vain (Mark 7:7). As with all things, the drinking of wine and strong drink should be done in moderation. Read the Scriptures below: Ephesians 5:18 - And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. Romans 13:13 - Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy. 1 Corinthians 6:10 - nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. CLEAN AND UNCLEAN FOODS - HAS IT BEEN ABOLISHED? The world teaches: The distinction between the clean and unclean animals has been done away with. You can now eat mice, moles, cats, dogs, bats, rats, skunks, poisonous spiders, snakes, worms, lizards, etc. The truth is: The Apostle Peter, after he had been fully trained by Jesus Christ for over three years, said in Acts 10:14, “By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy or unclean.” Peter was very perplexed over what the vision of the sheet meant with all the unclean animals on it. It was then revealed to him by the Lord that the Jews were no longer to consider the Gentiles unclean, because the Lord was going to call them and reveal to them also that one truth that saves (Acts 10:28). The vision did not mean everything was clean to eat now, as Satan’s false ministers proclaim. The clean and unclean laws were still kept by the Jews of Israel as well as Jesus and the twelve apostles. Jesus’ disciples were also warned not to eat the blood of an animal or an animal that was strangled with the blood in it (1 Sam. 14:33; Acts 15:20). This proves that prohibition of unclean meats and blood were still in effect. The New Testament says touch not the unclean thing in 2 Corinthians 6:17. Corrupt Bible translators even took the liberty to add to the sacred gospel of Jesus Christ by adding the phrase: “Thus Jesus declared all meats clean” (Mark 7:19). This was not in the original manuscripts, neither is it found in the King James Bible. It was added by corrupt translators. Clean and unclean fish are used as a parable by our Lord in Matthew 13:48, which corresponds with Leviticus 11:9-12. In 1 Timothy 4:4-5 (see KJV) God’s word says that everything created by God is good and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude & prayer. Then it goes on to say it is sanctified or set apart in God’s word—in Leviticus 11 is where it is sanctified. God does not want you to hurt yourself by drinking or eating the blood of an animal which is unclean, just as much as you shouldn’t eat what comes out of the back of a cow (Deut. 12:23-25). That’s unclean, too. The blood is part of the sewer system of the cow. Remember always, Jesus does not change (Mal. 3:6; Heb. 13:8; Matt. 5:17-19). In a prophecy in Isaiah 66:15-17 concerning the return of the Lord in the last days, Jesus says eating swine meat or pig is the same as eating mice. He calls eating bacon, ham or any part of a hog “detestable” (Is. 65:4)! Oh, how those who seek God have been led astray today by those who teach them, error upon error (Lev. 11:7). RELIGIOUS CLOTHING The world teaches: Ministers of the world are to stand before their congregations wearing religious robes. The truth is: God condemned His ministers from wearing religious looking robes when they stood before their congregations. They were not to make themselves look more religious or holy than the people they were preaching to. In short, they were not to transmit holiness by the way they dressed (Ezek. 44:19). The pagan priests of Baal always wore religious robes. They wore these robes to deceive the people into thinking they were more holy than the people they preached to. They wanted to be looked up to and respected by men, so they could receive honor as being holy men. It worked then as it still works today. They have deceived the people by “transmitting holiness” to the people with the way they appear in their robes of deception. When Jesus Christ returns, He will not allow these people to put on robes to deceive people any longer (Zech. 13:4). CROSSES The world teaches: To revere the cross and call it holy. The truth is: The cross is the oldest of pagan symbols in the world. It predates Christianity by thousands of years. There are books on crosses in your public library that prove their origin is pagan and show what they were really used for in ancient civilizations. One such book is The History of Crosses. Webster’s Dictionary says, anything that is used as a religious reminder is an idol. The Bible talks about not making for yourself any graven image. A graven image is defined as a carved idol or representation of a god used as an object of worship. Read this several times, thinking of things that may be idols in your life. Read Deuteronomy 4:15-19 and see how many of these items are used as religious reminders and symbols, then remove them from your life. GRACE The world says: You are saved by grace, through faith, not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. The truth is: The above statement is true, but only half true. What many do not realize is the Apostle Paul wrote some of the things he wrote, in a hard-to-understand way so he would trip up those who were false teachers, who were not called or taught by God personally. These untaught and unstable people would distort the true gospel to their own destruction. The Apostle Peter knew what Paul was doing and he mentioned it in 2 Peter 3:16. You are born by grace, you continue to live by grace, and when the time comes for you to be called by grace, then you must respond to that calling. God doesn’t need you, but you need God. God calls you to hear His truth either by opening your mind and drawing you with His Spirit, or by sending one of His servants to wherever you may be (John 6:44-65). Should there be no man of God around, the Lord will teach you Himself as you live for Him daily (John 6:45; 2 Tim. 2:7; 1 John 2:27). Now, the Lord Jesus is that Spirit which resides in us when we live to obey Him (1 Cor. 3:16; Acts 16:6-7). Notice while reading John 14:16-18, Jesus says, “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” If Jesus sends His servant, you should receive him, because when you do, you have received Jesus Christ (Matt. 10:40-42; John 13:20). In Jesus’ day, as well as today, only those who were receiving their chance for salvation knew the mysteries of the kingdom of God (Mark 4:11; Matt. 13:11). The knowledge of this profound mystery is given to us by grace through God’s Spirit. The mystery of the kingdom of God includes the answers to the following questions: God is not calling everyone to know His truth today, because this is not the only day of salvation (Heb. 3:7-8; Rev. 17:14). Consider these verses from God’s word: Acts 2:39, 47; 13:48; John 13:18; 5:21; Romans 11:7. When you are called by grace, God tells you the truth so that you may no longer live a disgraceful life before Him. God grants you the ability to repent, by knowing His truth, and allows you to know His Will so that you can be released from being held captive by Satan into doing his will (2 Tim. 2:26). In plain language, God allows you to know His Will so you can repent and know the truth. By knowing and living this truth, you become released from your old human nature of the flesh which represents Satan’s will, and thus you become reconciled to God by His grace (Rom. 16:20). CONCLUSION Every minister (plant) which My heavenly Father did not send or personally train (plant) My Father shall tear up (root up) (Matt. 15:13-14). Let them alone and do not go after them (Luke 21:8). They are spiritually blind to God’s revealed truth and are leading many astray (Jer. 23:30-32). As a result, many people will be betrayed and deceived by them. This is the broad way that the majority of those who seek God have been following, so says Jesus Christ Himself in Matthew 24:5. Very few people will find the narrow way—the narrow way which is that one true way, that true gospel of Jesus Christ (Matt. 7:13-14). Now that you have seen for yourself, some of the half-truths and lies being taught in the world and then the truth from God’s word, you can see how God wants to be worshiped. His Way is clear and narrow, without any confusion. It’s simply a matter of asking God to clearly show us that one truth and then practice it in our daily walk with Him—serving others for His glory (Matt. 5:16; 1 Peter 4:11). Take the time to educate yourself and look into these things, so that your life can be pleasing to the Lord in all respects. • Jesus’ Spirit | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Jesus’ Spirit Jesus said His Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, would not be sent to His disciples unless He first returned to the Father (John 16:7). He also said that when that Spirit did come, it was coming to convict the world concerning sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16:8). The whole sixteenth chapter of John concerns itself with Jesus telling His disciples He was about to return to His Father (John 16:5, 10, 17, 28). Finally, in John 16:33, He says, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” If Jesus had not come to tell us how to repent by keeping God’s Ways daily in our lives, people would still have an excuse for their sins. But because He did come, we no longer have any excuse for our sins (John 15:22). God’s Way of overcoming evil by doing good is just too easy. It’s too rewarding to have an excuse not to do it. If God is for us, no one can be against us. God, who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, will also give us all things through Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:31-32). Thanks be to God, who always leads us in His triumph in Christ (2 Cor. 2:14). The god of this world, Satan, has blinded the minds of the people who refuse to believe in Jesus, who is the light of the gospel and the exact image of His Father (2 Cor. 4:4). Jesus came to the earth in the flesh to show the surpassing greatness of His power, which comes from God and not from anything we do (2 Cor. 4:7). Jesus is standing at the door of our heart knocking. If we hear His voice, He promises to come into our heart and live His life in us and through us (Rev. 3:20; Gal. 2:20). We overcome our evil natures then, by allowing His spirit to put to death our evil deeds of the flesh. Jesus will then allow us to enter His kingdom and rule with Him when He returns shortly (Rom. 8:13; Rev. 3:21). Jesus’ spirit is the same Spirit that created the world. God gives that same spirit to those who will obey Him by serving others daily, like Jesus our example did (Acts 5:32; Matt. 23:11; 1 Cor. 11:1). It is with this Spirit, that we put to death the evil deeds of the flesh (Rom. 8:12-13). With that same Spirit, the blind received their sight, the lame walked, the deaf heard and the dead were raised (Luke 7:22). They also had power, with that same Spirit, over the entire kingdom of Satan (Luke 10:17, 19-20). This is why we have no excuse for not living God’s special Way and overcoming Satan and sin in our lives. “For greater is He who is you than he who is in the world,” says 1 John 4:4. God’s Spirit is truly greater than Satan’s spirit! PREV NEXT 3 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET STARTED All About the Bible PDF MORE BIBLE STUDIES PODCASTS HOME © 2025 Whole Wheat International

  • How to Endure in Your Walk | WHOLE WHEAT

How to Endure in Your Walk We know those who do wrong suffer. But is there suffering for those who are doing what is right? First Peter 3:17 says, "It is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong." Yes, God allows us to go through suffering for a very distinct purpose. God has opened our eyes to repentance by good works. He has shown us how to live each day, letting our lights shine for Him. We're going through the growth process. We are learning every day how to be more like our Father who created us to do good works. As we learn, we go through tests and trials. Through these tests and trials, we learn all of God's Ways. The nature that we were all born with needs to die. Our hearts are desperately sick, beyond all understanding. We see that clearly as we go through tests, just as the Apostle Paul did. This is why true disciples of Jesus Christ persevered in doing good works for God. They were seeking for glory and honor and immortality. How many who profess Jesus as their Savior are doing that today? Suffering wrong as the wages of doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are stains and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, as they carouse with you. 2 Peter 2:13 For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong. 1 Peter 3:17 First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds. Acts 26:20 (NIV) Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. • "You automatically do good / righteousness" | WHOLE WHEAT

"You automatically do good / righteousness" MISCONCEPTION: When you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and believe in Him, you will just automatically do these works of righteousness as a result of your belief or faith. THE TRUTH IS: The Apostle Paul instructed his ministers to constantly remind people to engage in a life of doing good works for God (Titus 3:8), and this is something they would have to learn to do (Titus 3:14; Is. 1:16-20). The very reason God instructed His people to get together is to provoke one another to more love and good deeds (Heb. 1:18)? • How to Enter the Good Life | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search How to Enter the Good Life This may come as a surprise to many, but one of the greatest words in the Bible is repent. Repentance is the ticket to the good life (Acts 3:26; John 10:10; 15:11; Luke 15:7). Repentance is the ticket to eternal life (Acts 26:20; Luke 13:3; Ezek.18:32; 1 John 2:17). Repentance is the ticket to forgiveness of sins (Luke 24:47). Repentance is the ticket to answered prayer (John 8:51; 9:31; 1 John 3:22). Repentance is the ticket to peace (Phil. 4:7). Repentance is the ticket to prosperity (Matt. 6:33; Luke 6:38). Repentance is the ticket to being a friend of God (James 2:17-26). Repentance is obedience to God’s Ways (1 Peter 1:2; 1 John 1:7; Deut. 10:12; Gen. 18:19; Jer. 6:16). To believe, you must repent. To have faith, you must repent. To obey, you must repent (John 3:36). Repentance is the key to the good life that God has waiting for you—a life full of joy, prosperity and every good thing. No good thing will God withhold from those who walk uprightly, which means those who repent (Psalm 84:11; Acts 10:35). The word “repent” received a bad reputation in the past by “fire and brimstone” half-truth preachers who claimed you had to give up everything that was fun. The truth is, God only wants you to stop doing the things that will hurt you or somebody else. Remember, God’s word says true love does no harm to its neighbor (Rom. 13:10). And the person who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law (Rom. 13:8). Whatever you would want others to do for you, do so for them, for this is the law and the prophets (Matt. 7:12). True repentance, then, is a Way of righteousness, which Jesus came to show us how to live, as well as tell us how to live (Matt. 21:32; 2 Peter 2:21). Repentance is keeping God’s Ways. Repentance is doing God’s Will daily on earth as it is being done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). Repentance is imitating God in word and deed (Eph. 5:1; 1 Peter 4:11). Repentance is living to do good for the Lord only. Repentance is daily righteousness. Did you think that repentance was feeling bad about your sins against God? That’s only half the truth. Your sins are forgiven by God when you forsake them by doing what is right in God’s sight daily. Forsaking your sins by overcoming evil, by continually doing good for God, will show God you are worthy of eternal life (Luke 20:35; Psalm 37:27). Repentance, then, is a happy and a joyful word. It means you have decided in your heart to live for God and to please Him in all you think, do and say, so He can bless you with every good thing. Repentance is turning to God by obeying Jesus’ words by putting them into practice in your daily life so God can bless you (John 8:51; Acts 3:26). So by all means, repent today and begin to live by God’s Ways, so He can begin to bless you for the rest of your days on this earth and give you the gift of eternal life (Matt. 3:2)! • Conditions for the Blood of Jesus | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Conditions for the Blood of Jesus The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all of our sins - past, present and future. But are there any conditions that must be met before the blood applies? Yes, 1 Peter 1:2 says we must obey Jesus Christ first. What happens when a person repents and is baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins? Everyone knows that disciples of Jesus Christ are to live a different way of life. Some people today are simply told to stop sinning. Others are told only what the church expects of them in order to be right with God in the eyes of that particular faith. Some are told that God wants them to keep the Ten Commandments, love God and love their fellow man, but it is never explained to them how this is done. One thing is for sure, there is much confusion as to exactly what you should do after you are baptized. Man might be confused, but God is not the author of confusion (1 Cor. 14:33). Satan is that author and he loves to leave you hanging. He gives you information, but never enough to make a permanent change for the good in your life. Jesus came that we might have peace, abundance and joy in our daily lives (John 10:10; 17:13; Acts 3:19, 26; Rom. 14:17). In 1 Peter 2:24 it says, "Jesus Christ bore our sins in His body, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness." How do you live to righteousness? Simply practice righteousness (1 John 2:29; 3:7, 10). How do you practice righteousness? Engage in good deeds (Titus 3:8; Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13). To what degree should you do them? Zealously (1 Peter 3:13; Matt. 5:20)! Why zealously? Because zealously overcoming evil with good, along with daily study of God’s word and prayer, is putting on the full armor of God (Rom. 12:21; Eph. 6:11). Most people who profess Jesus Christ as their Savior are totally unaware of this. What can you do to practice righteousness? Look for people who are in need and help them (Matt. 25:33-40). Share your clothes, your food, your money, your time and your love with them (Luke 3:10-11; James 2:15-26; 1 John 3:17-19). Entertain widows, orphans, the blind, lame and poor (Luke 14:13). Have them over for dinner. Do something; do not just sit there (Titus 1:16; 2:7)! Walk in the light. Keep yourself busy with acts of righteousness, charity and love. Be like Dorcas (Acts 9:36; 10:35). Then the blood of Jesus Christ can cover your sins (1 John 1:7; 1 Peter 1:2; Acts 5:32; Luke 6:46; 11:28; Matt. 7:24; James 1:22; John 12:47-48). Remember, if good works cover a multitude of sins, you had better have some, don’t you think (1 Peter 4:8, 18; James 5:20)? • God Keeps Records | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search God Keeps Records Many people believe God has gone off somewhere and is ignoring His creation or just doesn’t care anymore. People don’t stop to realize that they have gone astray and are ignoring their Creator by doing their own thing. They don’t really care whether there is a God or not. Does God know your every thought? Does He see all that you do? Do you get away with anything? Does He keep track of all these things in a book of remembrance (Mal. 3:16)? The Bible says God has a book of life (Psalm 69:28; Rev. 20:12). It is a book that God Himself has written (Ex. 32:32). Whoever sins against God will be blotted out of that book (Ex. 32:33). Every description of your body and its inward parts are in that book (Psalm 139:13, 16). The very hairs of your head are numbered (Matt. 10:30). The thoughts you think are all recorded (Psalm 94:11; Job 34:21; Prov. 5:21; Jer. 16:17). God is continually giving to each of us according to what we do (Jer. 17:10; 32:19; Rev. 2:23). He sees every living person when He looks from heaven (Psalm 33:13). He loves those who practice righteousness and glorify Him daily by doing good (Matt. 5:16; Psalm 106:3; 34:15-17). God is continually ruling over mankind (Dan. 4:15-17). Scripture tells us those who think God doesn’t always see or hear them are considered senseless and stupid by the Lord (Psalm 94:8-9). It’s time we begin to live to please God instead of continuing to live to please self. Time is running out on mankind, but to those who live to serve God, time is endless. They shall endure forever (Rev. 2:7; 1 John 2:17). Psalm 69:28 — May they be blotted out of the book of life, and may they not be recorded with the righteous. Psalm 139:13 — For Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother’s womb. Dan. 12:1 — Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued. Dan. 7:10 — A river of fire was flowing and coming out from before Him. Thousands upon thousands were attending Him, and myriads upon myriads were standing before Him. The court sat, and the books were opened. Rev. 20:12 — And the books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things that were written in the books, according to their deeds. Mal. 3:16 — And a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who esteem His name. Ezek. 2:9 — I looked and behold, a hand was extended to me and a scroll was in it. Ex. 32:32-33 — Please blot me out from Thy book which Thou hast written! Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book. Deut. 28:61 — Also every sickness and every plague which, not written in the book of this law, the Lord will bring on you until you are destroyed. Matt. 10:30 — The very hairs of your head are numbered. Psalm 94:11 — The Lord knows the thoughts of man… Job 34:21 — For His eyes are upon the ways of man and He sees all his steps. Prov. 5:21 — For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the Lord and He watches all his paths. Jer. 16:17 — For My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from My face nor is their iniquity concealed from My eyes. Jer. 17:10 — I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the results of his deeds. Jer. 32:19 — God’s eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, giving to everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds. Rev. 2:23 — I am He who searches the minds and hearts; and I will give to each one of you according to your deeds. Psalm 33:13 — The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men. Psalm 33:18 — Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him… Psalm 34:15-17 — The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against evildoers, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. The righteous cry and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 94:8-9 — Pay heed, you senseless among the people; and when will you understand, stupid ones? He who planted the ear, does He not hear? He who formed the eye, does He not see? • Overindulgence | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Overindulgence There are many forms of overindulgence. It can be with alcohol, food, sports, exercise, sex, money, or even thinking too much. It can occur in a variety of different ways with a variety of different things (Gal. 5:19-21). It is anything that is out of balance or not done in moderation. For example, the pagans of long ago who were worshiping Satan knowingly or unknowingly, practiced overindulgence in their orgiastic feasts. We have all heard of how they used to stuff themselves with food, and then, tickle their throats with a feather, which would make them regurgitate the food they had just eaten. They did this so they could start over and eat more (Phil. 3:19; 1 Cor. 10:31; Prov. 23:2). When we were in the flesh, we were all ignorant of God and His righteous Ways that He desired us to live. As a result, we were living in the flesh to please the flesh, whether it was eating, drinking or thinking. It was whatever we made excuse for in our lives, that was out of balance. These things can become idols, and we don’t even realize it. Idolatry is simply excessive attachment or devotion to anything in our lives. When we are in the flesh, we have no reason strong enough for us to want to practice self-control, have balance or moderation in our lives (Rom. 8:5,13). Then we discovered the truth, when God revealed His word to us through His Holy Spirit. It was revealed to us that we should practice godliness daily by living for God, who is the Spirit. It was revealed to us that we should discipline ourselves for the purpose of godliness daily if we were to be pleasing to God and thus be blessed by Him (Rom. 8:9). God and His Ways are to be first in our lives now, above all else. If we, then, would stop living to the flesh and indulging in the flesh with all its corrupt desires, and only live for God or the Spirit, He would give us His Spirit of power so that nothing could stand in our way. We would be putting to death all those areas in our lives that are in excess. Sin would no longer have dominion over our bodies because of God’s indwelling Spirit, which He gives only to those who are trying to obey Him (Col. 3:5). We would then come out of condemnation because we would be on the path of recovery, reconciliation and self-control (Gal. 5:22-23). Wouldn’t it be something if God blessed a person with every good thing and he died of being overweight, because he refused to tell himself “NO” in that area of his life? Ask God to help you shed a few pounds, and He will do it (Mark 10:27). If you try, God will supply. Continually do what you can, and then God can come in to give you what you are lacking. This goes for anything you are struggling with, or having a hard time overcoming in your life. Learn to fast for God to receive more strength. It is truly a meaningful way to humble yourself before God and ask for His help (Matt. 6:16; Is. 58:5-6). God has chosen fasting to break every yoke, every sin, every bad habit that is holding us in bondage. It is a spiritual resource He has given us in His Word, to draw close to Him, especially in times of need. We were called when we were sinners (Mark 2:17). Living the repentant Way, we can easily overcome everything that exalts itself against Jesus Christ our Savior, our Redeemer, our sustainer, our everything! With His Spirit we can overcome the world like Jesus gave us example to do (John 16:33). Then we won’t be hurt in the second death or have our names erased from the book of life (Rev. 2:11; 3:5). If we endure to the end, keeping Jesus Christ’s works, we will rule the nations of this earth with Him when He returns (Rev. 2:26-27). Jesus wants us to overcome the same Way He overcame—by keeping His works. He even said many of us would do greater works than He did (John 14:12). These are the works that God the Father gave His Son to do on this earth so He could be our example. Jesus’ sayings are God’s Will. That is why we are to keep them if we are to never die (John 8:51). • Works of Faith | WHOLE WHEAT

wholewheatonline.com Search Works of Faith A faith that works is a faith with works. Wouldn’t we be in a pickle if Jesus Christ’s faith had no works? There would be no forgiveness of sins, and He would not be our perfect example. How could Jesus Christ be obedient to the Father if He had no works? Could Jesus Christ glorify the Father with bad works or without works? "Don’t be silly," you might say. Well, don’t you think it would be silly to tell disciples of Jesus Christ that they do not need good works? How can they repent if they do not have good works (Acts 26:20)? Do you show God that you are repentant by performing bad works daily instead of good works? Of course not! You cannot be hired to do a job for an employer unless you promise to do good works for him. Then, if you continue to do good works, he will bless you by giving you a promotion or salary increase. After you have been trained by your employer and have proven yourself, you can be promoted because of your good works. Why, you might even receive a bonus, a turkey or some other special gift. But if you perform bad works for your employer, you will get fired. Our heavenly Father is our employer when we decide to live for Him. If we perform good works for His glory, God will bless us (Matt. 5:16; John 10:10). How about if you perform bad works for God? Won’t you get fired? God gives eternal life as a free bonus for continual good works, but those who are unrepentant - continue to do what is bad, or worse yet, do nothing at all - will not receive the bonus. Eternal life is not given to those who continue to do bad works daily (1 John 3:10; John 5:29). Rather, it is given to those who live repentant lives by doing good works daily to please the Father (Matt. 5:16). The Lord accepts us as we are, but then we must be fully trained by Him and strive to please Him in all our ways and works of faith (2 Peter 1:5-11; Luke 6:40, 46).
